I was worried because the expiration was…read moreduring quarantine but I can not express how accommodating and professional Estrella was about this. Groupon granted an extension till 2021 but Estrella still was willing to take clients if it had expired regardless. Great first impression! Making an appointment was easy and quick. She was detailed in the process and was speedy in sending me a confirmation email and list on what to expect and how to prepare for my colon hydrotherapy. Upon arriving the location was safe and accessible with private parking. Estrella immediately checked my temperature and this establishment requires masks which I loved, ensuring everyone's safety. The next step was going to the massage room where I filled out an intake form about past medical history/ bowel movement history. Estrella really takes time to listen to her clients and learn about their history. I loved how caring, knowledgeable, and easy she is to be speak to. She makes this experience calming and not awkward. She has you watch a brief video on what's going to happen and how your whole digestive/colon works. She's an expert in this area and put me at ease; especially since this was my first time. ( 30min or so) For the actual session Estrella took me to the therapy room and explained the insertion process. The room was extremely clean. She used new sanitized products for each client. She does not make this seemingly awkward process weird at all. Once I was ready she explained how I would me feeling and constantly was checking on my comfort/safety. (30-45min or so) Once the session was over I was washed up and Estrella brought me back to the massage room. Here she reviewed again after care instructions and gave me some ozone water free of charge! (look up ozone water & it's amazing benefits!) Overall, I had an amazing experience. Estrella really cares about her clients and I did not feel she treated me with less respect or worth because I came with a Groupon. She offers other holistic services which I love forward to trying. I haven't had one in a while because I work full time and have 3 kids so it is a rare treat for me, but prior to having kids, I got massages all the time (though not at Massage envy. I think I went there once like 15 years ago and it was fine). My mom made the appointment and specified that we wanted 2 female massage therapists. They obliged. A scheduling conflict came up so we rescheduled the appointments. The employee who took the reservation asked my mom "Do you want the same set up with 2 female therapists?" My mom confirmed and we showed up at the specified time. My mom's therapist brought her into the treatment room while I answered intake questions. When my therapist appeared, he was a man. I specified that we had requested female therapists. An employee told me they did not have any other female therapists available. I understand that human error occurs and I did not make a big deal about it but it was a disappointment to say the least. I killed time while my mom received her massage and we left. I figured I would reschedule for another time. About an hour later I received a voicemail from Massage Envy, I assumed they were calling to apologize for their screw up and potentially offer me compensatory services (a simple apology would have been appreciated), instead someone whom I assume was a manager demanded that I call back with my credit card number so I could be charged for a service that I did not receive. She claimed it counted as a "cancellation" and that the therapist would need to be paid. I whole heartedly agree that the therapist should be paid for showing up (it certainly was not his fault that the person who reserved our spot fumbled so royally), but I am not the person paying him. I almost called back just to laugh at this awe inspiring level of audacity. In the past when I have made reservations for a massage (literally anywhere else) even before I specify the gender of the therapist, they always ask "Is a male therapist okay?" If that's who is available. I always say "no" and they either arrange it so a woman is available OR they tell me they don't have availability for the day and time I am asking and I schedule accordingly. It's really not that hard. What an awful business completely devoid of customer service. I would steer clear of Massage Envy in the future. There are a lot of very reasonable places out there, so it's far from the only game in town.

I would NOT suggest it as the spot for people looking for relaxation or a typical Swedish massage. This place is more geared towards reflexology and deep tissue. The kind of deep tissue that hurts as you get it as you feel your muscles being moved in strange pulls but you leave feeling like you just had the ultimate stretch. The kind of massage that you feel the next day because all the lactic acid build up is gone. The masseuse worked on my back, arms, legs, and face. It was painful but the good kind of painful where you don't want to quite stop. It almost felt similar to a lymphatic massage when the masseuse worked on my arms and legs and face. Overall, I was not too happy that my masseuse left the room three times (although one time was to bring the hot stones) to attend to walk-ins or take care of some logistics in the front. But she made up for it by working a few minutes after the timer. I would say if you want a good deep tissue where they grind your bones a bit, this is for you. If you're looking to have the type of massage where you want to be so relaxed that you can almost fall asleep, you should pass.

A couple days later I get a random text confirming my appointment with no information just "you have appointment 10am". WHAT?!?! Ok well I guess I was optimistic and thought well the reviews are great so it must be ok. RIGHT?!?! Well the day of our massage is here and the outside of the store front is very shady looking. When we walk in all the lights are off not dim for a spa sett no but OFF. The woman was eating and brought us to separate rooms. Wait what no we have a couples massage booked together. "No, sorry". We cancelled our appointment and left. Groupon refunded our money. A massage is just just the physical part of being massaged but for me it is the entire experience.
