I'm visiting to help a friend who has had surgery, and I needed to shop for groceries. Hy-Vee is one of two groceries my friend has used, so I figured I would try them. I found that they did not have some items that I typically shop for, and they are limited on varieties of other things. For instance, they have no whole milk ricotta, only part skim. They have premium butters, but do not carry Plugra, which is American made from American dairy cows. Okay ... But I really made my decision on whether I liked the store when I got to the front. Although several people were standing around, there was not one cashier! They only have self checkout. After I had already scanned all my items, a young lady came by to ask if I needed help tearing off my receipt. Ummmm ... No, Thanks. read more

Dang it! What has happened to customer service? Such a disappointment from a company I used to trust. The front checkout process is BROKEN. I have yet to make it through a transaction without a problem. You can't enter your fuel saver, you have to have an approval for everything, no staff to be found.... Oh they are on the other side of self check outs and she has the poor attitude of a spoiled child who didn't get her way. Then the watermelon you got from the very front bin doesn't scan by UPC and locks up the system. Yes. I got a supervisor, yes I called back to share, NO this will not be my first or second choice for groceries. Employee owners of HyVee. Fix this location. read more

Went in to shop tonight, wasn't having the best of day. Bill D was helping and chatting with a family that brought actual tears to our eyes while we walked out. The mother was hearing impaired and he was speaking to the young kids and counting numbers with them. And then he asked the young child to thank her mother for letting him count numbers with them . Seeing the smiles on the whole family and on Bill D's face was the most heart warming moment. People like him restore our faith in humanity. read more

I am a regular Hy-Vee shopper. I live in Lee's Summit and work in Belton. I must say I like the Hy-Vee in Belton is better than my usual store on Rice Road in Lee's Summit. The cafe is cozy and they have Caribou Coffee (as do all Hy-Vee stores). I also like the fact that I can run in and get a Harvester Sandwich for lunch on the way to the church and they almost always have Tuna Salad. I also like that I can usually find everything on my list, including gourmet items. This store is just laid out well, well lighted and clean. When I am done shopping for food, I can stop and fill up my gas tank, show my receipt and get a discount on gas. Of the Hy-Vee stores in the area - THIS IS MY FAVORITE read more

Last month we placed an order in the floral department for a replica of my mom's wedding corsage for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony. We provided numerous pictures of the corsage and felt satisfied with the order. Yesterday my sister arrived for the corsage and was told they had no idea what she was talking about. However, since the vow renewal ceremony was planned for today, my sister was reassured they would make the corsage this morning, first thing, and it would be ready in the morning. Again, no corsage! My brother-in-law was given a hastily put together corsage while he waited this morning. I do not recommend this place! read more

We can't believe what has happened to our favorite grocery store in the past year. We have shopped there since they opened, and yesterday was the last time. Maybe they have a new manager, maybe it is corporate changes, maybe they are hiring people who just don't care. I could go on about the decline, but here are just a few examples that have driven us away: During the year-long remodeling they rearranged everything, and nothing seems to be in a logical place. They have added an entire aisle and part of the produce section with cheap plastic utensels and cheap appliances. The have stopped carrying many common things and replaced them with oddball stuff that is hardly food. Who is their buyer nowdays? Most of the time there are large sections of shelving that have no product. What kind of grocery store has no milk in the display and when you ask about it an employee says "the dairy manager didn't come in today." Another time all the HyVee milk was two days from expiration. During the mask mandate at least two of the meatcutters wore their masks on their chins. When I asked an employee about it he said "I just work here." Much of the packaged salad yesterday was a week past expiration. About 20% of the produce never has a price posted. All the people filling online orders push huge rolling racks and barge around like they are more important than the customers. I can't believe the number of employees just walking from one place to another and ignoring the customers. I could go on, but since nobody at HyVee cares about us anymore, we're gone. There's a Price Chopper and an Aldi up the street. They aren't as good as HyVee used to be, but they are acceptable. I would give them each 4 stars. read more

I love this Hy-Vee. They are always friendly and attentive. Even when I had issues they were fixed right away with no issues.

I have a love/hate relationship with this particular Hy-Vee. I'm lucky that it's pretty much right up the street from me and it's 24 hours but on the other hand the employees sometimes get on my nerves (more so at night then during the day) but that's just one negative, now onto the positives: 1. They have a great butcher counter with some great meat selections. There prices aren't that bad either and they are very helpful. 2. The store was recently re-designed so it looks new and is so easy to navigate! 3. They have an amazing health section with foods that you'd find at Whole Foods for a cheaper price. I love going here and buying my newest obsession Alo Drink. 4. They're liquor store is out of this world! I am not the biggest drinker in the world but sometimes I feel like making certain drinks or wanting a really good wine. I know going in here that the employees will be able to help me with any questions that I have. They'll give you suggestions and the prices aren't bad at all. So all in all, it's really not a terrible store to shop at. I honestly think they have a great store but the customer service is hit or miss. read more

We don't shop here but hired Hy-Vee to handle the catering and flowers for our wedding. The flowers were done perfectly and at an average cost. The florist was able to take my wife's picture (which was mostly in her head) and make it into things that were beautiful. They were delivered on time and turned out perfect. The catering was even better and I cannot recommend Hy-Vee enough in this area. I paid $1800 to feed 175 people. We went with light appetizers and added an extra appetizer to the list. They provided serving trays and drinks/cups as well. It was a wedding on a tight budget and the most expensive item short of my wife's ring was the catering. We provided our own plates and silverware to cut costs. We were promised plenty of food. That's exactly what we got. 200 people showed up and we took home enough food to eat for a week. The fruit ran out but no one complained about not getting any (and it was served and arranged beautifully). For everything else including the drinks there was a surplus. On top of that it all tasted great (it was a rare wedding where the bride and groom got to eat too!). We heard a lot of compliments on the food. Best of all was how helpful and convenient they were. We had a few people meet the caterers at our reception site (a few miles from the wedding). They dropped everything off and got it set up and my wife and I never heard anything about any issues. We paid an extra $40 to have them come pick all the servers and such up which seemed cheap to us and meant neither us or our guests had to mess with it. Everything about the experience was designed so that we could focus on our wedding and our guests could enjoy the afternoon. We called them based on several positive references from people we know and now recommend them to anyone who is looking for a caterer. read more

My weekly trip to HyVee to get my Caribou coffee has been great! I often forget to check-in because I'm running late for work and don't want to text and drive to look up and find myself heading towards the median then to have to feel the warm drink run down my chest and legs - if really be late for work because of have to go back home to change. However, it kinda bothers me that I am not getting my .2 cents reward points for my cup of coffee since HyVee has been so kind to offer their customers $1.00 cup of coffee (no matter the size) for the past (seems like year)) couple of months. I'm not complaining - oops! yes, I am. I prefer my extra cents off my gas - that's where I can see my savings - in that gas tank! read more

Generally speaking, I like Hy-Vee. However, our wedding cake experience was just not that great. The cake was dry. And, I received a phone call on the morning of saying we had not paid our balance, which we HAD, and that we needed to get that resolved before they delivered. Thankfully, they did what they needed to on their end to correct the issue, but I just don't think I'll use their bakery for any important occasions moving forward. It was reasonably priced, however, so that was nice. read more

The cashiers need to be better trained. 75% of the time I have to ask for the cashier to let me tell them my number to get my gas rewards. Tonight was their 10% off for whatever you could fit in their brown bag. Also, did not get the 10% off after reviewing my receipt and questioning the cashier. The cashier laughed off her mistake and told me to go to customer service. After waiting at customer service and the two managers goofing around for 5 minutes or so I decided it's more convenient NOT to shop at Hy-Vee for future needs. read more

If your looking for a decent beer selection believe it or not this is a great place, they have great seasonal beers as well as new Brewers. It's a great alternative to driving to Lucas liqueurs when I want a good stout, Hyvee never disappoints on selection. If your not sure what your in the mood for you can create your own six pack from a pretty diverse selection of bottles and cans of different brews, and if you don't see what your looking for don't worry there is always someone around to look for what you want or help you find a great comparable replacement. read more

I prefer Price Chopper for grocery shopping but the food/resteraunt area at Hu we is much better. Nice booths with a comfortable environment, and decent prices. We usually get Chinese food and they have great California rolls that I haven't found anywhere else in town. read more

Ehh...it's a grocery store just like the price chopper in belton and raymore and the Aldis and Walmart. This review is because hyvee has probably the biggest selection of ready made food and so forth. The Chinese is some of the best in town. Alot of times they will even make you fresh even if its already made. Also will make any type of fried rice or lo mein. Not sure if they always get their meats from the meat department but when they are out of chicken I've seen them run back to the meat department and grab a whole chicken. The pizza is good. Have a nice selection of deli foods with all the normal staples like meat loaf and fried chicken. Nice size salad bar. Always fresh. And holy crap...have you seen the wine and spirit addition they've added? Which is nicely placed next to the organic section of the store. All in all to me it's just another grocery store with hit and miss customer service but when it comes to ready made food and wine and spirits I'd stop by any day. read more

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE BEEN INJURED WHILE SHOPPING AT A HY-VEE STORE? IF SO, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE! My lovely sister-in-law was injured recently while shopping at the BELTON MO HY-VEE and a display of heavy glass bottles collapsed, shattered and caused a rather serious and painful laceration on her leg requiring an ER visit and multiple staples/stitches, not to mention the stress and subsequent pain & discomfort. She had not touched the display and her back was even turned when the display collapsed. The HORRIBLE local store manager (Brenda Slobinski) turned it over to the Hy-Vee corporate 'risk management' company (which I'm sure is a 'corporate policy') without even so much as an apology! Then these terrible people only offered a 'settlement' of a SMALL % of the actual cost medical bills. My brother and sister-in-law are now out of $1000's out of their own pocket to cover the required emergency medical treatment for this senseless, needless injury, They are very nice people and are not litigious by nature and so have decided not to move forward legally. IF YOU SHOP AT THIS STORE OR ANY Hy-Vee, BEWARE!!! This company and their employees will take not take responsibility for any injuries or damages you may suffer through no fault of your own.
