I like this Natural Grocers. I was looking for organic pears and Price Chopper failed me. The parking lot was small but it wasn't busy. The produce was nicely displayed and well-organized. The supplements, frozen foods, all the things you expect to see in a health food store were well displayed and the shelves were stocked. The prices were comparable to Whole Foods, for the most part. Some items were more expensive, some were cheaper. The employees were friendly and polite. It's a nice neighborhood grocery store. I need to remember they're there in the future. read more

Always happy with my experiences at this location. Staff is always friendly, store is clean, and everything is always in stock. Started coming here to refill water jugs as this is always the cheapest place to refill at 25cents a gallon. Would also recommend joining their N-Power club which is free and gets you deals in the store. Joining gets you a variety of regionally sourced brown eggs for $1.99 a dozen! A steal! With no Sprouts close in the area, and Whole Foods being a little further away, very happy this location is here. read more

New fave store! It's not big, so it's easy to navigate. But even though it's on the smaller side, it doesn't feel cramped at all and the selection is huge. I've always been able to find what I need. Great selection of items by the checkouts. I even got one of those phone mounts for my car like Uber drivers have. I'd been wanting one and was pleasantly surprised to find it here. They also had chocolate bars on sale at the checkout last time I was in. Good quality, cheap chocolate- don't mind if I do! The staff is soooo nice and helpful and the prices are much lower than Whole Foods, for example. Very impressed with this store. read more

I frequent this store more than others grocery stores in my area. The cashiers/floor employees are kinda hit and miss, but some who are nutritional specialists are great. This is a smaller store and their produce is often out of certain items, so don't plan on this being your only stop if you have a multiple ingredient recipe in mind. read more

We're pretty happy with this new location of Natural Grocers (or Natty Gross as we call it). We went the second weekend they were open and the staff were friendly and attentive. Often that's the case when a new place opens and then service falls off. Not so here. We were here again recently and were asked at least three times if there was anything we needed assistance with. The selection of products is a bit different from the store on Metcalf that's a bit closer to home. My hubby goes gaga over the massive selection of protein/health bars at this location. This location seems to have a bit less in the way of fresh prepared foods, but those items are pretty expensive at the other location, anyway. I think Natty Gross has the best prices on Zevia anywhere. I don't drink a lot of soda, but when I do, it's usually Zevia, so I appreciate that they're one of the few places that doesn't gouge customers on the price. They have a very small produce section and most of the produce looks fresh and fabulous. All Natural Grocers stores carry only 100% organic non-GMO produce, so you don't have to worry about reading labels. It's all the good stuff! read more

Finally! A place to get hard to find Paleo style ingredients. Not having to drive 20 minutes one way to Whole Foods is great. It has the feeling of a neighborhood grocery store but with tons of healthy and natural options. Sure it isn't the cheapest grocery store around but I like to come every couple of weeks to indulge in some unique items. They usually have some pretty decent sales where I can find some of my favorite items at a ridiculously cheap price! Make sure to bring your own reusable bags. They don't have plastic bags but you can use any of their boxes they keep up in the front. read more

This opened this week, the first business to go into the new development being built at Johnson Drive and Broadmoor in Mission's business district. I had previously visited two other locations in the metro, and was a fan, but it's niche enough that I was never likely to go out of my way or make a special trip to visit the Overland Park or Shawnee locations. However, with one right down the street, that access is just great. I'm a fan of simple, basic foods, but am put off by high-end costs and Whole Foods-type merchandising practices. Even neighboring HyVee's health and organic section can be a little price gouging. Natural Grocers will carry a slightly higher cost on some products (particularly of the processed/frozen foods variety, but they also carry many products that are comparably priced and lower priced than similar products in standard chain grocery stores. I'm not a huge food trend person, but have had probiotics recommended through my pregnancy for acid reflux and such. I found that Natural Grocers carries several brands of kefir, and at a lower cost than other places I'd purchased it in the area...larger containers, too! I did see local products such as Indigo Wild's cosmetic and care products in their health and beauty section, as well, which is always nice to see. This store seems to be a good size for the scope of their merchandise, and well-arranged. I visited both the day they opened and the next day, and employees were abundant and very friendly and helpful. They also have a "classroom" area where a series of free workshops and classes on healthy lifestyles are planned, which is a nice touch, as well. read more

I love the people here! They go out of their way to answer questions, contact suppliers, and special order items. Staff is personable, fun to chat with, and make you feel like a friend. The produce is excellent, all organic, and often cheaper than conventional. There is a great selection of allergy friendly, organic, and convenience items here. Around the holidays, the turkeys are excellent too, and you can preorder as many as you want. read more

I love this store. I live so close that I go several times a week so that I can get my produce fresh. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They seem to know a lot about what they are selling. Organic avocados are always $0.99, fresh bunches of organic kale, spinach and leaf lettuces are typically right around $1.70. Most of the organic produce is cheaper than the conventional produce next door at Hy-Vee. There are some exceptions to that, but it definitely applies to produce basics. They have a lot of selection for vitamins and supplements and personal care items as well. I almost forgot, the bathrooms are always so clean! That is a definite plus! read more

I love this store. It's not a big store, but everything in it is organic. The staff is so friendly and helpful and never fails to ask me if I need anything. They have a great prepackage bulk section that is very affordable. There is a two dollar section of fruits and vegetables I always enjoy checking out. And when it comes to vitamins and supplements there is a huge selection of inventory. I've been shopping here for two years and it's always my go to place for supplements and vitamins. read more

I'm using this location because it's the one I frequent the most. I also shop at the Shawnee and Overland Park locations as well as the Gladstone location when I'm in that neck of the woods. Their products are consistent and of high quality. We specifically purchase whole chickens there, Mary's Free Range Chickens. The past two Thanksgiving holidays we've not purchased or cooked turkey, however a number of previous years we purchased organic free range turkeys from Natural Grocers. It seems to me that their taste was far more luscious and full compared to the cheaper, less expensive turkeys at the grocery stores. Regarding Mary's chickens, they're very tasty, luscious being an apt descriptor in this case as well. Those we prepare them for seem to truly enjoy and notice the difference as well. We always bake them in the oven, either in covered cookware or with foil wrapping over pans. We also spice the two we cook differently. The meat literally falls off the bones and is juicy, not dry at all. The gizzards are wrapped with each chicken, also. I highly recommend Mary's Free Range Chickens if you'd like to try them with quests some time. See if they don't notice the difference. read more

I love Natural Grocers. I tend to go there for more specialized things--bulk goods like nuts and flour, weird yogurt, and odds and ends that catch my eye. (I'm a terrible impulse shopper.) Many of their items, especially their bulk goods, are very reasonably priced, especially compared to a store I will not name by name but it rhymes with "Cole, um...Brood." (Toll Mood? Prole 'Tude?) Their produce I feel is a bit expensive, though it is good quality and organic. They also have pre-packaged ready-to-eat Indian dishes which are awesome, Plus, they have great sale prices. So, yeah, not a good place to go as an impulse buyer. My wife and I went not long after it opened, and ended up spending about $50 on items we saw and decided we had to have in order to make our lives complete. (Hey, those elk snack sticks were on sale! And that Pellegrino was totally worth it!) read more

Natural grocers is my favorite place to shop. Was overjoyed to hear the business opened near the plaza. Rated two star b/c Staff here not as helpful as other stores; they appear to have lack of training and information on products and even their store hours. Visited this location for the first time yesterday. Loved it!!! Everything felt clean and bright and the selection was amazing. And most importantly, the workers were very helpful. They even had the line of skincare that I was looking for, which Whole Foods did not. My "go to" stores have been Trader Joes and Whole Foods, but we recently moved and those two stores are much further away now to drive to. This Natural Grocers is the closest natural foods store to my home (12 minutes) and I'm so grateful. I have definitely found my new "go to" grocery store. read more

I wish their hours were a bit longer, and I wish they had fresh naan instead of just frozen. But those complaints are minor compared to all of the great things that they do. I love their wide variety of sauerkraut and their range of vitamins is incredible. read more
