My fifth time in Hawaii. Hyatt Centric Waikiki is a solid stay if you want to be right in the middle of everything. The location is super convenient - close to shopping, food, and an easy walk to the beach! The rooms are clean, modern, and a good size for Waikiki. However, elsewhere, this would only be considered a boutique hotel. Beds were comfortable, AC worked great, and it had basic amenities like a mini fridge and coffee maker, but no office desk. The fitness center is also decent and well-equipped for a hotel gym, which was a nice bonus. I also liked the little extras that comes with the resort fee - free daily activities, a complimentary reusable water bottle and tote bag, plus beach gear you can borrow, which really helps cut down on packing and rental costs. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, especially at check-in. The pool area is on the smaller side and not really a highlight, shallow and not swimmable for adults, but kids seem to enjoy splashing around. The hot tub is a nice touch. Overall, it's a comfortable, well-located hotel with a relaxed vibe. Not a luxury resort, but a nice option if you plan to be out exploring most of the day.

I had a nice stay at this hotel. Location was nice. It was middle of Waikiki, close to stores and restaurants. Our room had 2 double beds and very spacious but only had one chair and one desk. I wish there was another chair and small coffee table. Room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a coffee maker and some coffee but it was on a high shelf so I had to use a chair to pour water in the coffee maker. There was cute water bottles and we loved it. There was water server in the lobby so we didn't have to go out and buy water. There was no toothpaste & toothbrush but we were able to get some at the front desk. All the staff was very nice and helpful. The big plus about this place is lounge area next to the front desk. There were many tables and chairs and some comfortable sofas. We bought breakfast from close by stores and had breakfast with friends there. Nice gathering place. One negative thing is that parking. Stalls are ok size but going up to the parking is very narrow. I had smaller car but I had to make turns slowly.

    * the staff are very friendly and polite here. Thank you Linda and Erica! * love how they start adding the holiday activities!!! Super happy about that as I'm never able to make it to their day activity (either need to fly out early or arrived super jet lagged). So this activity allowed me to do it at my own convenience. * love this place location as it's conveniently located near abc store, stix asia food place, near royal hawaiian, and a little stroll to the beach. * super plus is that they have a gym on the lobby floor so i love getting in my cardio! There's also kettlebells, dumbbells, yoga balls. So it's a like a mini home gym with some nice cardio equipment (stairs, bicycle, peloton, treadmill) * the rooms are nice and modern. I wish the bathroom had vents though... since the room can easily smell after a number two * love how they provide reusable water bottles and it's convenient to go to the lobby to refill it! * love how it's a great foodie located spot!

Treated like Family! We stayed at the Centric which is conveniently located in Waikiki. You are walking distance to beach, shopping, and plenty of restaurants. The hotel is perfectly maintained and the staff is so nice. You can borrow beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and towels these are included in your resort fee. There is an enterprise rental in the same building in case you need a vehicle for the day, you can return in same garage and avoid the Hyatt parking fees. My king size deluxe room was huge, with views of diamond head and the mountains and other side the beach this is a must. The price is reasonable for Waikiki. Make sure you join Hyatt loyalty so you can stack up points for free night.

The experience is a 5 star, the only thing I wish they had was a legit swimming pool. They did have a jacuzzi which made up for it, but still a nice pool would be nice, instead, it's like a foot bath, less than knee deep high. lol oh wait, they call it "splash pool" lol The other down fall was self parking was confusing because you got the elevators to go public entrance and then separate set of elevators for hotel entrance. When getting in the elevators, trying to press lobby, it wouldn't let us press lobby because we were pressing on the wrong side of the elevator. I believe key card is needed to access lobby?? But we ended up going down to ground floor where concierge and valet was, no check in desk to be found, hauled all our stuff back in the elevator, to go back up to the lobby. Yes, signs everywhere, big signs everywhere for hotel entrance elevator, signs for lobby floor, signs, and signs everywhere, unfortunately, still was confusing for us :( after these downfalls, no star deduction, even though no breakfast either lol. So upon checking in, GSA was super nice, friendly, I believe her name was Ana? Could be wrong. But super nice. Wish I got a free upgrade or higher floor, but it's okay. Got room 1411, and upon room entry, room was big, spacious. Wife's most favorite part about the room was a bath tub for bubbles baths!!! The bathroom was huge with separate shower from bath tub, toilet was a bidet, nice art work in toilet room, lighting in bathroom wasn't bright, very soft. Room had 1 king size bed, with sofa. View was alright. Could be better, but better than staring at another building. As long as could see ocean, it's considered ocean view! Room had a nice size closet, iron, ironing board, emergency flashlight, plug outlets throughout the room, mini fridge, keurig, complimentary souvenir water bottles. Ice and water machines on certain floors. Hyatt centric is a pet friendly hotel with applicable pet cleaning fees. Hyatt centric is conveniently located in the middle of Waikiki, very convenient with so many stores, restaurants, shopping, bus stops, in walking distance. We took advantage of how close some of the restaurants were that we wanted to try, so we got to just walk to the restaurant for our anniversary dinner, walk to Ross for a little bit of shopping, walk to happy hawaiian for breakfast, international marketplace, Starbucks!!! Right downstairs of the hotel... the hotel also has a microwave in the lobby, board games, meeting room, fitness center, and cute photo opps everywhere. So the wife really loved the bath tub in the bathroom, we made use of the jacuzzi, the bed, room, was spacious and comfortable. Oh and there was also a kupe'e (flower wristlet) making class, we got to join in on that for a little bit. That was fun. Made use of the fitness center a little bit. Oh, the jacuzzi/splash pool area, got cute cabanas to just lounge and relax. All in all, we enjoyed and had a relaxing stay. As long as wife happy, I'm happy. She said she would come back. I would too, as long as higher floor and nice views. Go check out Hyatt centric if u need hotel accommodations in Waikiki!

Shower/tub combo. Textured floor so its not slippery

I love this hotel. An available kamaaina rate, available self or valet parking, right in the middle of Waikiki. Staff have been nothing short of awesome and inviting. Right around the corner, a Starbucks to get a morning coffee with donut king right across the street. Rooms available with that window for to the shower(++for couples). I've only one concern for one room we stayed where that window also faces towards the door, though there are blinds to close it (would be a mild shock for house keeping to open and see you...) . Also have a bright light right above the bed. Room with the tub shower combo, + with the mini stone texture, so no slipping, the tub is small, single, can't stretch your legs. Definitely worth the 5 stars still.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki is perfectly located right in the heart of the city, making everything very convenient. The room was spacious, and both the bathtub and shower were clean and well maintained. The facilities--including the pool, jacuzzi, and gym--were all clean, thoughtfully designed, and well cared for. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and there was truly nothing to complain about. I would definitely stay here again.

You just can't go wrong with a Hyatt hotel. Hyatt Centric Waikiki is small and a different vibe from the bigger Hyatt hotels, but still have the high quality and outstanding customer service I expect. The hotel is in an excellent location, and within walking distance to tons of shopping, great food, and of course the beach! The staff are amazing and extremely helpful. They even have goldfish you can borrow for your stay if you'd like a fishy friend in your room! The pool is beautiful, the hot tub is larger than most. My only complaint is that the pool is very shallow, it is not a pool for swimming. Its more of a pool for taking cool insta pics and cooling off. The deepest part of the pool is maybe 2 feet deep. Overall we had a great stay and would choose Hyatt Centric again if we ever revisit Oahu.

We stayed here for five days and overall the experience was positive. The staff was nice and polite, but the cleaning service was not really good. They didn't vacuum the carpet, and they didn't properly make the bed, they just pulled the sheets up, and there were some crumbs left on them. Keep in mind there is no breakfast, no bar, and no real pool. The website said there was a pool, but it's actually just a shallow decorative tub, only about knee-deep, so you definitely cannot swim or even relax in it. The parking garage is extremely expensive, almost the same price as a night in the hotel. Another thing to know is that the area around the hotel is not safe at all. There are a lot of homeless people and some very unpleasant and dangerous individuals walking around. Just something to consider before you book

Stayed here for a few nights on a recent visit to Honolulu. The experience was a mixed bag and I would say overall it was a slightly above average hotel. I would stay here again, but at the same time I'd probably explore other options first. The pros: -staff were super friendly -the location is walking distance to the beach -the rooms are spacious -the heated toilet seats -hydration station on my floor for filling up bottles -they have free hula lessons and lei making during the week. We did the lei making and it was a lot of fun. -fitness room met my needs -beach umbrellas, boogie boards, and towels are available to take to the beach for free The cons: -the pool - it's on the roof and is super shallow (can't swim in it), so my kids were really bummed -resort fee and parking fee - expensive! -no microwaves in your room -the bathroom - the lighting is super dim, the shower has a window that looks out to the room, and the tub faucet pours out of the ceiling! It's one of the strangest and most pointless things I've ever seen.

Cute boutique style hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Hyatt Centric Waikiki is great overall for what it provides. I have stayed here twice and on both occasions, the employees were super friendly. Hence my repeat stay :) Rooms were spacious and clean. Location: Very close proximity to local eateries, retail shops, and of course...the beach! The beach is about a few blocks away. Amenities: Beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. First come, first served. GoPro cameras are also available for rental. Visit the front desk to sign one out. Starbucks Reserve is in the building. Yay!

This Hyatt centric hotel is actually quite average. Not our usual first choice in hotels but bc of its central location in Waikiki my wife booked this hotel. We have stayed at many five star hotels; my wife the hotel snob that she is tolerated this one. We stayed on the 19th floor in the ocean view suite. Not your typical roomy suite like Prince Waikiki or the Ritz Carlton but at least we did have views. Our windows did not open up for the safety of the guests which was understandable. They were somewhat dirty but you could see outside. Housekeeping was daily. Towels were replaced & room was cleaned. Our bathroom sink was annoying though as the pipes were slow to drain & the handle to turn on for the water was quite tight. That's an understatement too! Our tub was convenient yet if you're a shower person the separate shower head was short and cannot be used without holding on to it. Otherwise you have to bend down under which is quite inconvenient. Thankfully we mainly took baths. On our second morning our toilet would not thoroughly flush. Like what a nuisance! We informed the front desk Erica at 5 AM which is 8 AM our West Coast time. Luckily the repair guy came in on time at 7 AM Hawaii time & fixed it rather quickly! That was a relief as we weren't in any hurry to change rooms since we had been there for two nights already. The keurig coffee maker was rather easy & nice to use. It even prepared excellent tasting coffee that we didn't find the need to go out for coffee even though Kona coffee purveyors was so close by as well as Starbucks! We are well aware of that swanky pastry/coffee business as we have frequented B Patisserie in SF several times! We had been there a couple times before on another previous Hawaii visit. We even saw people lining up at Dean & Deluca at the Royal Hawaiian Center. My wife mentioned they probably had limited quantities of a special tote. Thank goodness she's not into that! Woohoo how did I get so lucky! Yup my wife used to be so materialistic. No more now. Thank goodness. Life is too short for that. You can't take those things with you when you die & go to heaven. Seriously! We gave this hotel four stars but it was more like 3.45. Even the hotel pool's depth is only 14 inches like huh? My wife saw the beach towels were available as well as sunscreen by the pool. That was a nice perk especially if you didn't bring the right kind of sunscreen with you. The hotel provided this reusable water bottle but the straw was quite useless. Strange & cheap contraption! So we just left it back in the room. It was nice to have a portable refrigerator & safe especially if you were to lounge by the pool & not bring your valuables with you & just store them in the safe. Overall we had a pleasant stay here despite some minor nuisances. It was pretty quiet where our room was situated especially since we were at the very end of the hall. That's huge bc if your room was by the ice machine or elevators you will definitely be hearing unwanted noise. How well do we know that staying away from home bc we have traveled our fair share of places. We have been very blessed & are extremely thankful! It will be awhile before we are back here as we have visited Waikiki numerous amount of times. Oh one last thing I just remembered was the setting of the temperature in our hotel room. It was already preset at 72 degrees. Being as high as we were with lots of sunlight bc of the windows the temperature setting was perfect. Thank goodness for that considering we stayed at this one suite in Sydney Australia & the temperature was so off. It was hot in the seating of the front room while the bedroom was Freezing! Seriously! That was a real PITA! Normally 72 degrees is too chilly for us as we set our house temps at 77 degrees but in this situation it worked! Woohoo!

The Banyan Wing is the original Victorian-era building which is listed on National Historic Registry and houses the main lobby and restaurant. The number of guests and visitor who circulate through this property daily is incredible. Including the Tower and Surfrider Wings, it has 791 rooms. Our Tower room had a great covered patio with incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the surfers, catamarans, and enjoying the island breeze. Our balcony was spectacular :o Our room was updated and very comfortable. I understand the owners completed a full renovation of all rooms in 2026. The beach bar is one of the best in the world. Cold cocktails, beer and wine. Good service. Great views! The drawbacks.... The pool is small and very crowded, especially for 791 rooms. With that said everyone in the pool was smiling and having fun. The beach is also pretty small for such a massive hotel. At high tide the hotel only has about 30 feet of beachfront and it is a public beach so it is crowded Rio style. For us this was not a drawback as we love Waikiki, the birthplace of Hawaiian surfing, and spend most of our time in the surf. Hawaii and Waikiki is one of the few places that completely lives us to the hype year after year and generation after generation. We can't wait to return. Aloha & Mahalo

After visiting and eating at this resort in years past, we were excited about the opportunity to…read moreactually stay here. So much history as shown throughout the resort especially on the second floor, but also the open Victorian architecture which presents a relaxing atmosphere. Our friends thought we were "rich" for being able to stay here but I don't recall the prices being too different than other hotels in the area. We also got a great offering through the American Express card. We arrived on island early afternoon and attempted to stay up as late as possible. However, we were given a room on the second floor of the historic side of the hotel where they host events on the patio area outside our room. While we were trying to sleep at 8-9pm, a festive wedding was going on with their DJ blasting music, people dancing, yelling, the DJ trying to motivate the audience, etc. It was not a fun night as my wife complained to the hotel staff about the noise interfering with our ability to sleep. It's not the fact the wedding was occuring, but rather the fact the hotel staff didn't let us know they were putting us next to the hotel night club of sorts. Hawaii is typically laid back and quiet, which this was not. The hotel staff sympathisized and mentioned the wedding would be finished by 10pm which it was, and tried to make things better. On day 3 around 4am, the hotel fire alarm sounded and advised everyone to vacate the building. When we vacated, we learned it was a false alarm. This was our last day at the Moana Surfrider which we assumed was a sign the resort wasn't meant to be a relaxing experience for us. The hotel has activities associated with the resort fee such as yoga, that we registered for. It was my first time doing yoga despite mention by my wife over the years to do it. I figured it would be a pleasant surprise for her if I signed us up, and it was a great class out on the same patio area as the wedding. I won't say it was fun for me, but it was an experience that we both enjoyed. The room itself was small which I assume is because it was part of the historic side of the hotel. There wasn't a balcony which we've come to appreciate especially in Hawaii to be able to go outside, view the water, and smell the air. Instead there was a window which we tried to orient ourselves in to get a picture of us with our welcome leis and Waikiki Beach in the background. Very challenging to appreciate a window as well as find space in the room to lay out two large suitcases without having to relocate furniture. The shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor as the cracks in the glass were not sealed so there was a constant wet towel on the floor. The bathroom in general didn't seem very modern considering the hotel had recently undergone years of modernization. Housekeeping was good and treated us well with towels and drinking water. I believe the Tower rooms of the hotel might be more modern and larger, as well as away from the event area of the hotel. I think we would look at other options in the future as we also spent a few days each during this trip at the Sheraton and The Royal Hawaiian which provided a much different experience in comparison.

Halepuna Hotel This…read moreis a review of my experience staying at the Halepuna Hotel, located in Waikiki. I booked my stay via Costco Travel recommendations. WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. My biggest issue with the hotel is that it's showing its age. The rooms and facilities feel outdated, and I don't think the current room rates reflect the condition of the property. Also, if you're looking to save on parking, park by the pier instead. It's much more affordable than paying the hotel's $65 per day parking fee.

I worked incredibly hard to bring my family to Hawaii, and I am extremely disappointed that so much of our time at Hilton Hawaiian Village was spent dealing with problems that should never have become our responsibility. Over three nights, we experienced two separate water leaks and repeated hot-water issues. These weren't minor inconveniences--they significantly disrupted our family vacation. The worst night, I slept approximately two hours. With water leaking into our room, I chose to stay awake and deal with the situation myself because I didn't want maintenance repeatedly coming into the room and waking my 1-year-old and 3-year-old children. Instead of resting and enjoying the next day with my family, I was exhausted because I had essentially spent the night protecting my children's sleep while dealing with the hotel's maintenance problem. That is unacceptable at a resort of this caliber. Management eventually provided compensation, and I appreciate that they acknowledged the situation. However, I absolutely do not believe the compensation matched the severity of what we experienced. I didn't work all year and spend thousands of dollars bringing my family to Hawaii to spend a significant portion of our vacation calling guest services, dealing with leaks, worrying about hot water, and effectively helping manage Hilton's property. Money can be refunded. Vacation time with my children cannot. For the price and reputation of this resort, our experience fell dramatically below what any family should reasonably expect.

Best service. We booked a stay last minute because of a power outage and then had to book subsequent nights which made explaining and moving rooms a bit messy but front desk was on top of it every single time. Even if I had spoken with a different person, they kept impeccable notes and went above and beyond to help us. I am beyond grateful that even though we had to deal with craziness of the hurricane, this hotel was the bright spot in our day. Cleanliness was also good. Out of the 3 rooms we had, I only called housekeeping once for a minor pillowcase and sheet change which they did immediately and apologized for. I recommend this hotel to all and look forward to staying here for pleasure in the future too.

We stayed at the Diamond Tower and since we requested to be on a high floor, we were given the 30th floor; which was great! The room was clean and spacious. Staff do work slow though... there were times where we had to wait a long time for the front desk staff. Overall, we had a good time here at this Hotel.

Once my room became available I dropped off my luggage and then went directly to the beach. When I returned I did notice some areas of concern where the room was not very well cleaned. Instead of calling housekeeping I went directly downstairs to the front desk. Front desk personnel were busy as there were only 2 people assisting the long line of quests. I decided I'll just deal with the room uncleanliness later. Please be advised that I did take pictures. Once I checked out on Sunday, March 8th, I advised the front desk personnel my concerns. The manager Ira listened to my concerns as I showed her my pictures. She immediately apologized and ask that I email the pictures to their corporate office. Which I did once I arrived back to the mainland. In the room there's a finger or toenail clipping on the carpet between the console and couch. Also you can also see that portion of the carpet has not been vacuumed. The clothed bench in front of bed was extremely stained and filthy. So filthy that I covered the bench with a bath towel if I needed to sit down. Also the refrigerator was very dirty. I chose not to put any food items in the fridge because of this. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

We also used our American Express Platinum Hotel Credit benefit, and it was great that this hotel qualified for it. Ka Laʻi is one block from the beach, backing up to Fort DeRussy Park, a military reservation, and is surrounded by many shops and restaurants, especially along Luxury Row, which is a non-negotiable visit for us. There is so much aloha felt here, with the staff always greeting us with genuine smiles and a willingness to help. The hotel is quiet and soothing, perfect for a relaxing stay. We checked in seamlessly and were provided with cold, refreshing water upon our arrival. Our room was spacious and felt very cozy, with beige carpet and tile flooring, brown furniture, and dark cabinetry in the kitchen. In the seating area, there was a large full-size sofa, an upholstered side chair, and a coffee table. The long dresser and closet provided plenty of storage. A lovely welcome treat was left in our room: two Ka Laʻi reusable water bottles, Hawaiian semi-sweet chocolate, and Beach Brittle. These items were a very nice touch. If you feel inclined to enjoy more Beach Brittle, you can purchase it downstairs in the small shop next to the spa. The bathroom had a double-sink vanity with plenty of counter space, which is a must for me, a large soaking tub, and a wet shower area. It was a generously sized bathroom with plenty of room to move around. Our stay included a wonderful breakfast buffet at Inyō. There was an omelet station with a chef preparing made-to-order omelets, along with a variety of beautiful fresh fruit, hot and cold breakfast items, rice, and Asian-inspired bites. The infinity pool is located near the restaurant, Inyō. It's tiled in a beautiful blue that adds a nice contrast to the tan backdrop of the neighboring high-rise buildings. The pool is long and narrow, accented by a series of raised, tiled planter islands that provide a bit of privacy between guests. We were too busy to swim or enjoy the other amenities, but just walking around the grounds was incredibly relaxing. It's a very peaceful place to stay, unlike many of the larger hotel brands. The standout at this hotel was definitely the service. The staff always made eye contact, greeted us warmly, and either asked about or anticipated our needs. This is a hotel that is definitely worth returning to.

Those ladies that worked there were the best!! They were always ready for my redundant questions. The pool was spectacular. We went swimming during the sunset and it was just the coolest spot. There were plenty of kids swimming when we were there, so we felt at home having a small child as well. The pool has sunscreen ready, cold water, and towels for your pool session. Even though it didn't have bells and whistles, my daughter still enjoyed the child friendly ledges. We got the one bedroom suite with the kitchen and living room. We had two balconies with a partial view and they were both gorgeous. It got a little loud at moments due to the proximity of the downtown Waikiki energy, people playing music loudly on scooters and ambulances, but it never woke us up or annoyed us. I felt spoiled here. I properly pampered and I am excited to have an opportunity to stay again. Kid approved, mommy approved.
