Great location, pretty hotel and our room was nice minus the bathroom - walls were scuffed and it was just very basic. However, the shower water pressure was good so I can't complain much. The gym was great. They have peloton bikes and an assortment of dumbbells and kettle bells. The pool area looked to be very small and full of kids. There was no hot tub sadly. The con was Alex at the front desk. He checked me in and was awfully rude and condescending. I chose not to take it personally because he was the same way towards his coworker, Francis?, and towards the guests who approached him after me. We stayed at Hyatt House due to its location to the stadium. Per a search, it listed it as .2 miles and close. When we arrived, we were surprised to see it is right across the street from Gainbridge Fieldhouse! It was perfect. If you are there for the game, a lot of other perks you may want could be put aside. We arrived a few hours early and were able to valet and check in! Valet and hotel staff were very, very nice and helpful. Our room was clean. It is just a tad outdated but fine. Our room had a full kitchen, which could be nice for a longer stay. We ate downstairs at Pier 48 Fish House, which is attached to the hotel. The food was good. I had a delicious fruited mule (lychee). We were walking distance to many sites and restaurants. There is a small indoor pool that can be very crowded and loud due to the acoustics. There were a ton of kids in the pool and splashing water out and I saw a child slip and fall (glad it was not a grandparent!). The breakfast options are well-rounded. There are a lot of areas to eat inside the hotel area and outside on the patio. It was not crowded at all. Our Fever game was at noon so we were able to leave our car with valet. We borrowed the key to pack our things in the trunk. The game ended and we were well on our way by 3pm when the clock would have reset to be charged another day. The only drawback was the night noise. All during the night, you could hear traffic (like motorcycles and engines). We did have a room facing the street so maybe forego the view and face a back alley. It woke us up several times. This is a perfect spot for the game and for a family! read more

If you want to sleep at all at night this is not the place for you. There is drag racing right outside the front of this hotel that carries on from 10pm to at least 3 am. we stayed Friday and Saturday night and it was horrible!! we were on the 13 th floor and could hear this noise the whole night just like if we were sitting outside. this hotel needs to invest in some sound proof windows. First, the good things: -Location is great! -Bed was amazing. Super comfortable. - Shower was large and had great pressure. Love the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in shower. Not so great: -Our specialty city view was essentially a brick wall. -Self parking was $40/night. Valet was $45. -Breakfast during week is 6-9am, but you basically have to get there between 6 and 7am to get a decent breakfast before it looks like disaster struck. We got there at 8:20am. There was no coffee except decaf left. The oatmeal had congealed, and there was barely any left. There were toppings and food all over the counters. A woman brought her small, coughing child into the food area, and he coughed at least 6 times, not covering his mouth, all over the food. We left and went down the street to another breakfast place. -There was a small saucepan pot in our room with the coating all peeled and flaking off. This is highly dangerous to consume. You NEED to remove this pot and your housekeeping staff should be checking those. -Our room wasn't entirely clean. There was spots on the toilet. Some spots on the floor in the bathroom. The carpet needed to be vacuumed too. read more

We stayed for the (2024) eclipse and it was one of the only places that had a reasonable price day of!! Peyton at the desk was so understanding of our situation (because our AirBNB host scammed us and the Airbnb didn't exist) and they did everything they could to make the stay easier for us. Highs: LOCATION - convenient to walk to many many places and convenient to get to the interstate, quality of the room in terms of decor and space, the terrace bar with delicious cocktails, pool with towels at the ready + TV, adequate number of access-controlled elevators to serve the building, social distancing and masks required. Lows: not quiet at all - the doors to the rooms slam shut if you don't stop them from doing so and the building must not be very well sound-proofed as I heard one neighbor blowing his nose and another neighbor's, ahem, sounds of passion. Multiple times. Housekeeping never came to my room - I prefer they don't come in but Hyatt's door hanger says they require access a minimum of one time per 24 hour period...clearly they don't adhere to that so if you like them to turn over your room every night, that's something to consider. Lastly, parking in the hotel's garage for two nights cost $64, with no discount or anything from them to ease the cost to guests. It's in downtown Indianapolis next to the arena so I don't fault them too much for this but be prepared. read more

Very beautiful hotel. The decor is so elegant all throughout the hotel. We had a conference in Indy and all my team from all over the world stayed there. The service was excellent and the patio was out favorite hangout. Being member of Hyatt we had free breakfast which I loved ( other than the over salted eggs ). Stayed here for Gencon. Doubt I'd come back. The day we arrived, one of the elevators was broken. Staff could not figure out how to turn the key inside the elevator to stop it from operating. Instead, staff placed a sign over the elevator, instructing guests not to use it, which didn't stop the elevator system from sending the broken elevator to where we wanted to be. Not a good start when your lobby isn't on the first floor. The beds were too soft and therefore uncomfortable for both my GF and I. We woke up with muscle pain from the bed every morning and could not sleep restfully. We would have liked to take advantage of the continental breakfast, but even at 8:00, the line was out the door, with no place to sit. The breakfast area is too small for the hotel at maximum capacity, so we ended up going elsewhere. The bag drop was combined with the valet outside the hotel, which did not work well. We waited for more than 15 minutes to drop our bags off. Overall, the hotel felt very poorly-equipped to deal with being completely full. Location and price were fine, but overall this was a bad experience. read more

What pissed me off about this hotel is they gave us a credit for the restaurant and they don't open until 4pm which is kinda weird considering they have a lot of people coming in for food and drinks especially being right across the street from Gainbridge Arena 3rd when we wanted to use our credit for dinner they had a party that closed the entire restaurant down which left us and many other guest who've spent good money to stay in this expensive hotel to have to spend more money on a subpar restaurant. 4th the breakfast is good but the set up for breakfast is terrible so many people and it's a cluster there is no flow of how to get people in an out not sure why they don't use the entire restaurant for stations to help with service and flow of guests . 5th chlorine in the pool is just way to strong as soon as you walk in your eyes start burning especially when you get in the pool. I will say that the bartender is badass though he definitely should be somewhere else but I'm sure he doesn't have too many places to go. read more

The Hyatt House in Downtown Indianapolis is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! I was super impressed with the exceptional customer service and the gorgeous room. We stayed in a one bedroom kitchen suite, and it was absolutely perfect. I have very specific dietary requirements, so we needed a kitchen to cook food each day. The kitchen had exactly what we needed, including a stove top, microwave, full fridge/freezer, and sink. There was also a gorgeous marble top dining table. The only issue we had here was that the sink was leaking a little bit underneath. The living room was cozy with a tv and nice view of downtown Indy. The bedroom was spacious with a huge tv, beautiful downtown view, and a super big storage cabinet to organize your clothes and things. One of my favorite parts about this room was the bathroom. It had a beautiful marble counter, a huge mirror with gorgeous lighting, and a luxurious walk in shower! I also loved the sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom. I was most impressed with how well the staff accommodated my chemical sensitivities. I called and explained it ahead of time, and they made sure that fragrance free/chemical free cleaning products were used before our stay, and they used an ozone generator to purify the room before we arrived. It was perfect and much appreciated! Aside from the room, the rest of the hotel was beautiful as well, with lots of gorgeous art and an overall sleek, modern look. I was very happy to find that the hotel didn't use an excessive amount of fragrance in the lobby as some other hotels do, which makes me and others who have certain health conditions very sick. There was a nice little restaurant and balcony attached to the lobby as well. The hotel also has a laundry room with washers and dryers available to use. And lastly, the parking deck was very well lit and made it easy to get in and out quickly. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Downtown Indianapolis! It is absolutely gorgeous, has a good price point, is very clean, has amazing customer service, has beautiful rooms, and offers the perfect views of the city! read more

We spent 2 nights this weekend at Hyatt Place downtown. The hotel was nice with a lot of amenities. We had 2 adults & 1 child in a double queen room. Check-in was quick, but we weren't given any information about the hotel, breakfast, WiFi, the apparent "master switch" in our room that we found out about later, or anything. We were advised about the switch by another guest in the elevator - it overrides all the lights in your room & turns them on/off. The beds were ok, but the pillows were not (for me anyway!) Too flat or too fluffy - none in between. If you want to sit on the sofa, it was hard & uncomfortable (as sofa beds usually are.) The 2 ottomans were on rollers so they could be moved around. The handle to the cabinet with the fridge fell off within a few minutes of us arriving - one screw was out & the other fell out when we went to open to door to add drInks to the fridge. Not sure how it was missed by housekeeping if they cleaned/checked the fridge when the last guest checked out because the handle literally just popped off when we touched it. The bathroom was huge & nice, which was a plus! They also have a pool on the top floor, deepest depth is 3ft 9in. The workout facility has a lot of treadmills & is a good size. The hotel also offers a lot of different room options (some with kitchens and even separate bedrooms) that make this hotel different from others in the area. Our view was of Bankers Life across the street. If you are in town for an event there, the location can't be beat! We didn't get to try any of the restaurants or the breakfast in the hotel. We did eat at Sauce in the Side next door (twice!) and it was delicious. I'm not a huge fan of calzones but these were not your regular calzones! They were amazing and have SO many different options. Check out my yelp review for them to see pics! There are also many restaurants within walking distance if you want other options. All in all, this hotel was nice, had plenty of amenities & the location is great. I would have rated 5 stars if they had a bigger pool and our check-in experience had been better. read more

One of the worse experiences staying in hotel...and I've have had many over the years. Several issues that were constant the whole stay up until checkout. We stay for 3 days. I rather not spend an hours typing out all the issues so give you the major ones....we switched room 2X...almost 3 but I refused to move again. And the heater in our room was broke. They sent maintenance person once but didn't fix it. We asked them to send someone on two separate occasions and no one showed up both times. We also pre-paid for self park which the front desk told us to use the room key to exit...doesn't work. Found out the last day from the manager that you need a piece a paper with code to scan out? We told the manager at checkout the issues and that we paid for pre-parking but had to pay to leave one of the nights. She said she would have it removed...guess what? I was billed for it and had to call back and tell them to remove the charge. There were other issues too that just never seem to end. Super nice hotel and great location in Downtown area. Bed was comfortable and restaurant food/bar was good, but damn do they need to get their stuff together. I gave a 2 instead of 1 because of the restaurant. read more

We enjoyed a three night stay here and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Indianapolis! Our valets were awesome on both the morning and evening shifts. Checkin was flawless and our room was comfortable and clean. The pool was nice although surprisingly on the 15th floor. Only complaint is no housekeeping service at all during our stay. Breakfast bar was open and very busy. On our second morning there was a shortage of food but it was refilled in a reasonable amount of time. Parking was over 30 dollars per night in the nearby parking garage. That seemed extremely high to me but using the valet service was an excellent choice as there was construction in the area and navigating was difficult. read more

We stayed here when we least expected it. Reservations were done online, which was quite pleasant and easy. There was paid parking attached to the hotel which was clean. The room was sufficiently spacious for a family of 3 adults and 2 kids with 2 queen beds and a pull out bed. Beautiful view across us which we were surprised to see where the Indiana Pacers play! My husband is n NBA fan! He was thrilled! We were glad to have 2 windows to make the room brighter and a second blackout curtain. My son slipped though from their bath tub as it was slippery as Indiana water was slippery when you bath in it unlike Illinois water. Wish the tub had grippers or something. Hot breakfast was served with speed refills and efficient staff that cleaned up afterwards. It was great! Great and friendly staff! We are definitely putting this in our favorite hotels to stay when we're here again. read more

Stayed here as part of a staycation package with Pier 48! What a great deal! The room is really classy and comfy beds. The shower draining was very loud and it persisted for about a half hour! We were pumped when then noise went away. The included Breakfast was great- appreciated the measures they took to keep the high touch points clean. The view from the room was non existent- but you honestly can't beat the location! Close to so many great restaurants, bars and bankers life! It would be great to stay here for a pacers game or when concerts start again! The lobby and bar Pivot- they are so cool! Just got back from a lovely 2-night stay at Hyatt Place downtown. The interior was very clean and appeared to be recently updated. I didn't realize just HOW downtown it was-we were overlooking Baker's Life, which was cool. The breakfast area had a nice outdoor patio, which was nicely decorated. Bed was comfy. Blackout curtains were great. Only 2 complaints: 1. Our room wasn't cleaned during our stay. We put up a "do not disturb" sign from 8AM-10AM while our baby was napping, but took it off when we left for the day. Came back at night and our room was still a mess. Weird. I guess we missed the window and I was too tired to complain. and 2. Parking is SO expensive. I get that this is the same for all downtown hotels, but it's annoying that parking for 2 nights literally cost 50% of a night's stay. Makes me think twice about staying downtown vs free parking on other sides of town. Overall, good visit. Friendly staff and very helpful valet service. read more

I would like to start off by saying this hotel is in the perfect location from the Pacers basketball station... it is literally a 20 feet walk!! This is as close as it gets! The hotel is about a year old and is in beautiful condition. The breakfast is hot and fresh with a larger variety everyday! The staff is amazing! Ms Treena and Ms Kim were top notch. They were extremely helpful and nice... they were the highlight of our stay!! We laughed with them every morning and made us feel at home. The black guy with braids at the front desk is very knowledgeable! (Sorry I don't know his name). He was very accommodating. We originally booked here and got room 6008, a suite with a king bed and view of Victory Field. When our next hotel for our second part of the trip was bad, we called and booked here again, and requested our same room back, which the front desk guaranteed us upon arrival. When we got here, the night manager, Christopher made no attempt to keep this accommodation, giving us a room that faces the roof air system and a bed that is so worn out, I am now on the couch for the next 4 nights freezing, so my other family member can get some sleep for a long day of driving ahead to visit family in a different t part of Indiana. Thanks for lying to us, Christopher. I will now be awake the next 4 days, because you chose to not give us back our room as promised. It's not worth the stale, repetitive breakfast at 6am, with aggressive harassment by their resident valet, Alex. read more
