My wife and I stayed at this hotel in Queen Creek as our honeymoon sold quicker than anticipated and our new build was not quite finished. The hotel looked great at first blush. The room seemed adequate for a one night stay. When we pulled down the bed coverings, the sheets looked like they had not been cleaned and replaced from the previous stay. Being late at night when we got to the room we decided to just grin and bear it. Bed was comfortable once we fell asleep. After leaving the next day we discovered a horde of bedbugs from the room in our luggage/clothes. Upon receiving my credit card statement, I discovered that the hotel had charged be $50 fee for what I have no idea. I called for the hotel manager to discuss all these issues. Was told he was not state hotel and would call me on Monday (I called on Saturday). He never called so I called twice more during the week to demand the return if the $50 charge. I has now been almost a month and still no call. As a disabled military veteran, I have experienced some very shabby accommodations, but none more surprising and disappointing than my stay at the Hyatt Place hotel. If cold scrambled eggs is your thing, enjoy their included breakfast. read more

First, I will say that the actual "hotel star" score is a 2 to 3 star. It's nice and clean. It is centrally located right off of the freeway as well as near restaurants and shopping. Where the 5 stars come in is their staff. Oh my gosh, they are the most pleasant and hard-working hotel staff I have ever encountered...and we are avid travelers. The front desk staff takes care of registration, the bar and the kitchen. But, they do a fantastic job. The little bar is super fun and the food is actually REALLY good for hotel food. The wings were honestly like large wings and drumsticks. So, if you're ever in this area, this is a great option. Enjoy! read more

Decided that Hyatt is a great hotel when staying in places like Hawaii, So.Cal, Vegas and a few other places. It was the only obvious choice to stay here. I'm not very picky on things, but after reading the reviews I was skeptical but still booked the room, because the beds are heaven. Check in was EZ and the COVID19 precautions are in place... but it stops there. The hallways looked like they haven't been sanitized in months, the elevator floors looked like a movie theater floor, the stainless steel walls in the elevator were dirty AF, and the carpet leading to my room in the hallway needs a serious shampooing. Getting into the room is nice it's got that tap your room key feature, but after opening the door the light switches don't work- because you have to put your key card into a wall thing, then everything is supposed to work. Half the lights didn't work., the "business desk table had stains of rings from a cup, crumbs from something on the chair, trash left in a trash can with no bag, the bed looked amazing, but never made it to it. The walk-in shower was literally destroyed! Soap scum on the tile and glass partition, mildew on the grout lines, a floor suction cup grippy thing was put in the corner and it wreaked!! The room smelt like you left a sweat rag in your car for two weeks and when you finally found it you wanted to puke.. and the best part is when we told the front desk, they were prompt to say we have another room for you, it looked even worse... How am I supposed to know if they cleaned these rooms? There's no service employee leaving anything behind saying they wiped everything down, there no COVID19 Precautionary anything telling me it's been cleaned. The last thing I want is to be a statistic because this hotel wants to make $$$ and doesn't care for my safety and the other 100 guests. But THE POOL IS OPEN!!! And It's a continental breakfast- NO BUFFET!! And the Gym is closed.. but if you wanna sweat, walk around the hotel 10 times at noon.. I will not be staying here, good the Hampton Inn is right behind, they are COVID19 on top of things read more

Great stay at the Hyatt !! I love the service that we receive everyone we check in. The room was nice and comfortable and any extras we needed(towels) were brought up by guest services. We enjoyed the complimentary-breakfast which oatmeal is the go to for our stays here. I noticed the dishes were filled up every time. On our last day( Mother's Day) I noticed that the employees were allowed to bring their wives for breakfast. That was nice because we forget that some people are having to work and a simple gesture goes a long way for employees. read more

Cons: I believe they are doing a renovation on this property although it really did not affect our stay. I really enjoyed my stay here. I've stayed at Hyatt Place before, so I knew what to expect for the most part. It is super cute, very new and modern. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The room itself was a good size, with a living room/lounge area, desk/workstation, and refrigerator/bar area along with the bedroom and bathroom. I had no major complaints- the bed was comfy, the shower had good pressure and water temperature, and the room was cleaned daily. They also had a 24 hour snack bar/cafe, which came in handy. Breakfast was included, but I didn't partake in that except for coffee. Wifi was also included. There were plenty of outlets for you to charge devices. I only had minor gripes. One- I ate a red velvet cupcake in bed one night, and there were crumbs spilled. I made sure that I put the card on the bed for the linen to be changed daily, but I noticed red velvet smears on one of the pillowcases the next night. Secondly, the bathroom area was pretty small. You do have to reach inside the shower completely to turn it on- so you get wet with cold water before you intend to. I got a great price- $95/night, so I was quite pleased. read more

Hotel is in need of refurbishment.. bare bones bed, sunk in stained couch, no coffee table or any place to eat a meal. They are also not customer service oriented... I booked 6 nights at this hotel. On the day that I was supposed to check out, and leave for a 7 hour car ride back to California our air conditioner went out. We called a mechanic to repair and so needed to stay in the hotel room for a late checkout (it was 108 outside, and I have a 3 year old). The hotel wouldn't allow us a late check out (even on a Tuesday when they had hardly any other guests). They actually charged me half a day's rate for the extra three hours I was there (12pm checkout - I left at 3pm). I have stayed in a lot of nice places and have always been given early and late checkouts when I've asked... this really rubbed me the wrong way, especially after I spent nearly $1000 dollars on 6 nights of stay. On top of everything, they double charged me for the half day... just a little bit of extra salt in the wound I guess. Next time I'm back in Gilbert, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Recenty stayed at this Hyatt location for a 4 night stay, while visiting my daughter, who lives in Gilbert. The location is convenient, with a lot of parking. The hotel rooms are comfortable, with refrigerators. The beds are pretty comfortable with plenty of nice pilllows. Upon check in, our refrigerator wasn't working, and we were moved to another room that night. The breakfast, which is included free for guests, has a lot of food choices, including scrambled or hardboiled eggs, sausage, toast, cold cereal or oatmeal, yogurt with berries and an assortment of beverages. The lobby has a menu of foods to order for dinner, which are made on site. There is also a full bar. We tried several meal choices, and they were all delicious. The REAL REASON for my 5 Star Rating, is the staff. Sometimes it comes down to the people, and Nida and Robert were true standouts with their EXCELLENT customer service. My daughter and I had several interactions with them during our stay. They were always working very hard, and doing so with a smile. They are true assets to this hotel. Great hotel! I've stayed here several times over the last few month and every time it's been perfect. The staff: From the moment you walk in the front door you are greeted with a smile and friendly service. Anytime you have a question the staff here is super friendly. The rooms: Love the layout of the rooms with the beds and bathroom on far side, and the living room, desk and kitchenette on other side. Very open and functional. Love having a fridge in the room. Breakfast: Every morning there is a breakfast served downstairs. They have Seattles Best coffee. The breakfast options are extensive so there is something for everyone. Food: They have food you can purchase in the afternoon or evening. My daughter and I had a cream of mushroom soup and flatbread pizza to share. Both were outstanding. My daughter who cringed at the thought of mushroom soup reluctantly tried a bite and loved it. She ended up eating most of it and was probably going to lick the bowl clean had I not stopped her. LOL !! And it's nice you can have a glass of wine and relax. My last stay here was for a week as we were waiting for escrow to close on our new house so I'm probably not going to be staying here anymore ..... But it was good when I needed it. read more

My son and I stayed here for three nights while he was playing a hockey tournament over Thanksgiving weekend 2014. We were very happy with the room and hotel in general. The place is pretty new, so the rooms are up to date. The flat screen in the room had a media connection panel for connecting computers, etc. The staff was great. the 11 and 12 year old boys on the hockey team loved the pool. We were allowed to hook up a computer to the bar TV so we could stream the LA Kings game one of the nights. I would stay here again. read more

I'm sorry to leave this bad review. I want to say I had an enjoyable experience, but I didn't. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk was awesome. Friendly, helpful and eager to make our stay an enjoyable one. That is where the niceties stopped. Our bed sheets were covered in hair. Head hair, body hair, ball hair, you name it. I'm not confident if wasn't sasquatch himself that just slept here the night before. But even if it was, why wasn't the room cleaned before we checked in? So my neat-freak wife (also 7 1/2 months pregnant) flipped out. The staff did respond quickly and change out ALL they linens under my wife's watchful eye. But... The bathroom... Urine in the toilet from the guest before... Opened, used soap bar in the shower (again imagine sasquatch scrubbed the taint with this "luxury bar") and yet, even more hair sprinkled around the shower and toilet area. Listen, I'm not sure exactly who had this much hair on their body to leave this kind of a mess. Not sure sasquatch exists. Michael Landon (as far as i know) has been deseased for some time and so has Robin Williams. So the only visual I have is some middle aged Italian man jumping around, naked, scratching his entire body, and shedding his greasy body hair across the room. Gross. Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights for my daughters soccer tournament. The location is great however the room was extremely dirty, and very unsanitary. I wouldn't stay here ever again. Not only was the carpet dirty, stained the walls were also graffitied on and tub was not draining. Breakfast was also horrible. We drove 9hrs from CA to visit family in Gilbert AZ and were very exhausted upon arrival. We brought our 2 kids ages 1&3 and booked a 2 queen room. The room was more like a suite to me. There was a sectional sofa that made into a sofa bed, along with a room divider. The rooms were pretty spacious. The rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. Perfect for a family with small kiddos or even teens. Our mom and grandparents both had rooms and were very impressed as well. The hotel breakfast was very good and had many options. The hotel staff were all very courteous, welcoming, and loved to chat with us. Excellent customer service overall. You have wonderful employees representing your company. Thank you Hyatt and it's staff for making our visit a very positive and memorable one. I highly recommend this hotel. Give them a try, you won't be dissatisfied. read more

Stayed 2 nights, too long... Let me start off by saying if it weren't for my sisters Hyatt points for a free stay, I wouldn't pay $50 for this room, for a weekend. I felt as if I stayed @ a red roof inn, with the Hyatt name slapped on it. The room was a good size, but I didn't feel comfortable at all. The floors felt & looked so filthy I refused to walk around without slippers or socks. They don't bother to tell you about their make ready service, that I didn't request. A housekeeper attempted to enter my room, without announcing herself, & not dressed like a typical housekeeper. Scared the shit out of me, as I was staying alone with a toddler. I called the FD & asked to talk to a manager. He was extremely unapologetic, & stated its standard for the hotel industry. I've worked in this industry, and I know it's standard to request it, but if this is how Hyatt chooses to do it, so be it. I was terrified, & upset, this made no difference to their "manager". Upon leaving for the day I expressed my concerns to a girl at the front desk dressed in street clothes, & informed her that housekeeping could now clean the room since we would be gone for the day. I come back, and it wasn't even touched. Was I surprised? Not at all... The next day, went to shower only to find a piece of hair in 1 of the towels. Disgusting. Needless to say, it hit the floor. There are other hotels surrounding this one, Hampton Inn & a Marriott, I'd take my business there. I truly enjoyed my stay! I worked at a Hilton branded hotel for years so I know quality. This hotel was AAA-mazing! My room was spacious and inviting. Wish I could have stayed another week. The view from the room was nice but not the best. The evening staff were so friendly and helpful. The bar...thumbs up! The food was good but the menu is slight. Hyatt Place Phoenix/Gilbert lists "pet friendly" as one of it's amenities but nowhere does their website/reservation info indicate that you'll be paying $75 to check in with your pet. We made a reservation and checked in on one of the hottest days of the year pet in hand and a piece of paper was put in front of us indicating a pet "deposit" was required and we signed it. At no time were we told the deposit was non-refundable thereby increasing the cost of our room by $75. If a hotel is listing "pet friendly" as an amenity, customers should be notified during the reservation process of the increase in price. read more

We stayed here for a night on our drive through AZ, it's in a newly developed area. Very nice and little boutique style hotel (which I am quite fond of). The sofa in our hotel is kinda old and has some stains on it, but that's not a huge deal. Room is very spacious and clean. Had mini fridge and bed was comfortable! We needed a place to stay last minute while waiting for our moving truck- they were so accommodating! The hotel is very clean and new and the rates were reasonable- $84 a night (not including taxes) during the week. Morning breakfast included was pretty tasty- they don't have a ton of options but what they had was decent. Our favorite was the Greek yogurt bar with berries and these INCREDIBLE French toast bites to mix in. The service was awesome. We forgot we needed a late check out and they were great about it. The room was cozy and the bed was really comfy. My only complaint was the shower- I think the design is a little silly. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gilbert! read more

Wonderful hotel! From the moment my family & I arrived, we were treated very well. The staff was always welcoming and accommodating. Our hotel room was clean and well-appointed. At almost every other hotel I've been at, you can hear your neighbors' doors slam shut, but thankfully NOT here!! :) We were very impressed by the free breakfast buffet: everything you could ever want, and plenty of it! High-quality food, and nicely presented too. My only complaint is that the curtains were too thin and unfortunately it was impossible to sleep past 5:45 when the sun rose. This could be easily fixed by affordable blackout shades from Target! Overall, highly recommend this place. We will be back! read more

Received a recommendation from my boss who resides in Gilbert to book our past two regional meeting at this hotel. Like all Hyatt Place locations, these hotel rooms are roomy and come with great amenities such as small refrigerator, free WiFi, living room space, a business center kiosk below with 2 computers, access to internet and a free B&W printer, a pool and gym with the basics. This is located is close to the freeway and a short drive to major shopping centers (Costco, Winco, Starbucks, plenty of other fast food restaurants, etc.). I was informed that if you show your room key at Mountainside Gym you can get a GYM PASS for $5 valid for 1 or 2 days. Service in the front desk along with catering/sales staff are very friendly and accommodating. Both Kristy and Michelle in the Sales Department were delightful and made the reservation fast and simple. With negotiation, sales staff was able to offer our group a competitive rate for the hotel rooms and meeting space. Due to the occupancy, staff was able to accommodate my early check in at 10:30AM. Comfortable. Large rooms. Extremely comfortable beds & linens. Very affordable, and includes a breakfast buffet of simple pastries, coffee, etc. Down fall: the bathrooms are extremely small, and you can barely close the door or it will hit the toilet. You must step inside the shower entirely to turn on the water. There is no avoiding getting freezing cold water poured on you...no way to heat up shower by just reaching the nob, must step all the way inside, and no way to adjust the shower head either to face another direction. Also, the front desk directs you to park in the back of the building to be closer to the elevators. Which is entirely wonderfully convenient. However, it would be nice not to see every housekeeper by the back entrance having a smoke break every time you enter and exit the building. read more

DON'T STAY HERE THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!!We stayed here for our wedding back in Feb 2018. Had issues with my stay back then but didn't write a review. I had reserved one of their banquet rooms for my wedding rehearsal and they gave it to another party! I ended up using a small room they threw us in and still got charged a $50 clean up fee!! And now 9 months later, I look on my bank statement and I have 2 new charges on my card in Nov. One was for $230 and the other was for $461. I called the hotel and asked to speak to the manager. I was transferred to a manager name Shari and asked her why I was being charged these two amounts without my authorization. She didn't know what to say to me. She kept trying to come up with something to say like "oh you extended your stay in February for an extra night and that was one of the charges" I told her No, I paid my extra night when I was there and the transaction was on my bank statement Feb 16, 2018 for $161 and went through. I told her "You charging my account without my authorization is fraud and I want this looked into." She asked to call me back once she looked into the issue and it's been 3 days now- still haven't heard from her!! read more

Brian D and I stayed here the night of his cousin's wedding. While they had blocked out some rooms at a discounted price, by the time we booked our room, the block of rooms were sold out. We got a rate of $89/night which is a pretty good deal. The room was spacious, we got a king sized bed, couch, desk and a mini fridge. You do have to put your key into a slot to turn the lights on. This is one way they try to be a green hotel. They also have a "bar" which isn't much of a bar but the hotel was nice enough to keep the bar open past midnight so those who were staying at the hotel for the wedding could have an after party. They provide complimentary breakfast in the morning and it was just like any standard hotel breakfast. read more

But they argued that it was an accessible room..they got us moved but then we had NO cleaning service whatsoever! I had a great stay at this hotel. It was at the right price too, but that is mostly because I was there with a wedding so we got our room for $99/night. First of all they have an excellent continental breakfast. REAL eggs, with bacon, I believe you can make waffles, they usually have some sort of breakfast sandwich, fruit, cereal, baked goods... they went all out there. I didn't use the pool, but it looked pretty nice. They have a bar in the lobby that you can hang out at late night. The air conditioning blasts all day if you so choose to do so. The king bed I shared with my girlfriend was not too firm or too soft. The shower was big and awesome. I have no complaints about this place. There is also a 24 hour grocery store within walking distance if you need supplies. read more

I have been coming to this hotel for roughly six years for work reasons, and I used to find it pleasant and functional. The internet has never been *easy*, but for a hotel, it was always at least workable. I could never drink the water from the tap without my belly filling with pain and air, but again: I can work around that. Bottled water is easy to find. The rooms seem designed for work, too: with a sitting and desk area separated by a half-wall from the sleep space, and a quick complimentary buffet breakfast. The bad news is that the Hyatt is either not updating the infrastructure (which in a hotel means plumbing and mattresses, not to SPEAK of the nasty carpets) or is repeatedly putting me in their worst rooms. This trip, I got what according to the hostess was "one of [their] best rooms." It was at the end of the hall on the first floor, meaning I have neighbors on only one side. Great. It is also surrounded by a very well-lit parking lot. Less great, but I can deal. On my laptop, I can see a wifi network that works for me if I link to it from the lobby, but I cannot connect to it at the distance of my actual room. (This post comes to you courtesy of tethering.) The shower seems to have a softening system, which I have never encountered here before. Water softening sounds better than what I am used to here, which is not being able to wash the soap off, but in reality it means that the cold water is initially forceful (and the shower is freezing) followed by what must be a build-up in the softener when the cold basically stops (and you burn yourself). I have showered "successfully" twice so far only by turning the water off while I soap up, and hanging my hair in the stream rather than standing in it. Then there is the worst bit: the bed. This is a trend too well documented not to mention, especially since it now affects my ability to sleep: the owners don't seem to be replacing the mattresses. Ever. There are human-shaped depressions in each half of the mattress, so deep that in spite of all efforts to avoid them, I eventually sink in and awake with a pain in my back or neck. I can imagine a world in which this might yet be comfortable: if hotels refuse to buy new mattresses, they should at least provide soft dummies to fill the depressions in them. In this case I need two wide, deep dummies. read more

I can handle the small closet, Having no microwave, no out tub( it is Arizona) and the fan in the bathroom But sleeping at night the air conditioning Unit would vibrate and make some loud noise. I complained about it and they knew about the situation, but I was told they are working on getting them all replaced. being a light sleeper I had to put in ear plugs or get the room so cold, when I went to bed it was ok through out the night. I'm rating this as a 5*, not a 5* resort but for the amenities, service, cleanliness for the value of the price. This property has recently undergone renovations, we were able to get our room for three nights at $104/nt which for a suite type of room and newly remodeled, was a very good price. The pool was warm, which is a must for me, the lobby was inviting and relaxing, the breakfast was your typical eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, cereals, etc. There is a small bar where you can order drinks from which is a nice bonus. Our room was very clean, the a/c worked very well. All in all, a nice stay. They also offer a late night menu which is nice, we didn't utilize it but nice to know it's there. Within a mile or less is a Costco, a Winco Foods, many restaurants, etc and it is right off of the 202, we wouldn't hesitate coming back when in the area. Lastly, we were going to be coming into town a little early in the day and they texted me at about 10:30 to see what time we would be there, I said about 1:00, they said they would text me when our room was ready and lo and behold, they texted me at about 1:15 that it was ready, very nice feature! read more

Good hotel for business travel. Really like how they have laid out the rooms, makes it seem like you are in a mini-suite with a living room. The gym is kind of small but has all the things you would need to get a quick workout in. What I like the most is the breakfast they offer- each day they have two different bowls you can make, one is egg based the other yogurt based. The staff was also super friendly. Pros: It's quiet and the staff is polite and cherry. Large TV. The free breakfast has a nice selection and a friendly ambiance. The rooms are well appointed. a mini frig, L-shape sofa and king bed. Cons: The Internet speed is slow. The place needs a refresh, carpet and sofa looked worn as did the sheets and comforter. I didn't think this hotel was very old but they have popcorn ceilings!!?? Worst part for us was the sink was clogged - we were there 2 nights and checked in around 5pm on a Saturday - they said maintenance was gone for the day and they couldn't move rooms because they were sold out. To my way of thinking they should have called an outside plumber - there was just the one sink. The clerk said she would speak to the supervisor but we never heard from them. In the morning we reminded them, it was still clogged and we didn't want to keep brushing our teeth in the shower.
