    Bug between sheets I bed....
    Debbie M.

Sadly this hotel is not what I expected complete chaos on trying to check in.... then get to room hardly any linens, broken coffee pot & TV in bedroom doesn't work and they have no one to fix until tomorrow.... this is not a five star hotel.... it's older and needs some upgrades like USB Ports for electronics ....No ice machines..... fridge does have ice maker but barely worked after you turn it on Probably thus hotel is best for long term stays but for just the weekend not work the money..... Ok so TV in Bedroom didn't work no one to fix it at 8 pm So decided to take blankets and sleep on sofa...pull back tip sheet and there was a bug ..... no other rooms stuck here for 250$ per night I expected much better worse customer service ever..... almost all employees with attitude

    Pipe burst in boiler room

The only pro I will give this place is that the rooms are spacious and a good size for families. The blinds weren't big enough to cover the windows. The shower is child size, came up to chest height for me, I'm 5'7". I guess fortunately my 6'1" husband never got the chance to take a shower. During our stay a lot of unexpected issues arose at the hotel. The TVs went out and the hot water was out for more than 24 hours (before we left, it was definitely out for longer). These are out of the hotel's control, I totally get that. What's not out of their control is how they handle it. The hot water went out around 7/8am on our first morning there. We were told the repairs would happen between 10-3. I had to call the front desk at 5pm to get an update. They said up and running by 6pm. At 7pm when I called for an update they said 9pm. At 9pm, it became 10pm. Every time we called we were told it was fixed and they were just waiting on something "to flush the pipes, to dry a component, etc". At 3:30am the fire alarm went off in the hotel and we went to the first floor to find a pipe had burst and the hallway was flooded. Still no hot water. The lady at the front desk was an entire horrible person about the event. Families coming down with kids and her attitude was "I didn't do it, go back to bed." In the morning we were told water would be back at 12pm and that a pipe had burst affecting all hotels on that block. Well given their track record of not providing accurate information we decided to fight for a refund and go to a different hotel. There's no way a city block issue would be fixed in 4 hours when they couldn't fix their own issue for the 24 hours before. We eventually found out from talking to other guests that they were not notifying people about any of the issues when they were checking in. And more than that, the water repairs were part of planned maintenance that again they didn't tell anyone about. The rest of the issues were because the first crew messed it up. The TVs also went out at the same time and we were told it was a Cox outage. But when we chatted with Cox they said there was no outage in our area. Life happens, but how you communicate with paying guests is what sets you apart when that stuff happens. And this staff is NOT prepared. When we asked for management we were told over and over she would be back in the morning. How a manager could leave a hotel in such a state is beyond me. When we finally got the manager in the morning it was not a she and he said he was there all night dealing with the issues. Add it to the list of lies. I don't even want to think about how disgusting their hands and laundry were with no hot water, a total health issue through and through.

    Mold in shower.

We are locals and stayed at the hotel twice within a few months due to construction at our home. Our last stay will be our last. The hotel is located at a busy intersection. You'll get a lot loud traffic noise if you're on any side of the hotel, except for the rear of the hotel, which faces an apartment complex. The noise starts about 4 a.m. and goes until about 11 p.m. or midnight. There is also a fire station nearby, so you often hear sirens go off. We could see two cell phone towers from our room that I'd guess were between 1/8 and 1/4 mile from the hotel. Unfortunately, you can't avoid cell towers, but those are really close. The a/c in the rooms is really overwhelmingly powerful. It's situated so it blows right onto the seating area, so you'll freeze to death. Also, it's really loud and we continually had to turn up the volume of the TV when it would switch on, and then turn down the volume of the TV when it switched off. It sounds like no big deal, but I'd say you have to go through that exercise about 20 times an hour, and it gets annoying. There was a lot of seating in the room, but no dining space and only one desk and one chair. If you're traveling with two or more people that can be a problem. We declined housekeeping service due to covid. We'd call housekeeping to let them know we were placing trash outside our door, and sometimes it wouldn't be picked up. That's the only thing we asked for. Several times we stopped by the front desk and couldn't get a clerk to help us. Usually, they were running towels to rooms. Other times, though, we could hear someone in the back office and they were just refusing to come out. The hotel "business center" features ancient equipment running ancient software. We were unable to print anything from the computers -- not even an email or a PDF. One of the computers froze with a sensitive document of ours open. The front desk they told us we'd have to call an 800 number for help and that they usually respond in 30-45 minutes. But then the clerk just unplugged the computer and when it rebooted the document was cleared. The front desk will print documents for you if you email them to the desk. But if you want to print a personal document there's a FedEx Office about 3-4 miles away. The wireless internet was good. We had to hop onto Zoom calls and we always had a good connection. There was a pretty spacious closet area to hang clothes that we appreciated. The kitchens have an apt size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sink, and dishes. But unfortunately there is no stove or cooktop. As another poster noted about their stay, we didn't have any shampoo or conditioner in the shower upon check in. There was mold in the shower and the bed skirt was stained and dirty. There is a big spacious lobby that is also the breakfast and happy hour area. We never spent time there because it had a weird smell ... like a cross between boiled eggs and sour orange juice. The odor existed around the clock. The thing that irked us the most getting the run around about moving to a new room. We were going to stay there about a month, but the noise was just too much for us. They kept promising to move us "the next day", but when the next day came they would say there were no rooms and to try the following day. We never really unpacked or bought groceries, thinking that we were going to be moving and we didn't want to have to repack and move all the groceries. This went on for a week. Finally one of the clerks told us that they will not let guests move to another room unless there is a catastrophic maintenance issue in their existing room. We decided to check out the next day (three weeks early), and at check out mentioned our frustration with not being able to move rooms. We also mentioned that we were returning customers, IHG Reward members, and that we were staying there for an extended time. The desk clerk basically told us we were nothing special because there were people who were staying there longer than us. At that point we asked to speak to the manager, who had been delightful during our previous stay at the hotel. He was not delightful this time. He said there was nothing he could do and disingenously said he try to put some extra reward points in our account for the problems (which never happened). His attitude and that of the desk clerk was don't let the door hit you on the way out.

It's a Great location- close to a mall, the downtown area, great restaurants and more. We booked a suite and it was a comfortable 3 night stay. Loved the games in the lobby. We played foosballl, pool, chess, pacman... And made use of the onsite gym. A lot of equipment and space. Easy walk to a few really good restaurants. A few notes - the in room fridge wasn't working great but they said they were working on getting them all replaced. And this stay vs the last they charge about $10 per night for parking in their outdoor lot, but if you're a member of the rewards program maybe it's waived(?)

I would never recommend this hotel…read more I originally booked a 3-night stay but ended up arriving a day early. I called the day of my flight to add another night and was told it was no problem but it would be treated as two reservations and I would need to check out Sunday and check back in. I checked in around midnight Saturday and paid a $100 deposit. On Sunday I left my room with the privacy sign on the door. Around 3pm the front desk called telling me I needed to return immediately to check out and check back in for the second reservation. I returned within about 10 minutes and was required to pay another $100 deposit. When I returned to my room, the privacy sign was no longer on the door and had been placed inside the room, meaning someone had entered despite the sign being displayed. Monday my room was not cleaned. Tuesday my room was still not cleaned and I had no fresh towels. I called the front desk and spoke with Veronica, who argued with me about my reservations and told me rooms are only cleaned on the third day. At that point it was already the third day and my room still had not been serviced. She eventually brought towels and said staff had "dropped the ball." Tuesday night I asked Lena at the front desk if I could extend checkout until 2pm because my flight was later. She initially said no, then said it would require a fee but couldn't locate the policy anywhere. After calling Veronica she told me the fee would be $55. I declined and asked how late I could stay without a fee and she said 11:30am. When I returned to my room my key suddenly stopped working. After I went back downstairs and expressed how frustrating the situation was, Lena later called and said the 2pm checkout would be approved and the fee waived. At 11:30pm that same night Veronica called me from home explaining she had gone home sick, it was her second day as manager, and the team "needed work." The conversation went on far longer than it should have and felt extremely unprofessional. The next morning I left briefly with the privacy sign on my door and returned an hour later to find the sign once again placed back inside my room, meaning someone had entered my room again despite the sign being on the door. At checkout Jacob at the front desk was very kind and helpful. However when management became involved they mostly made excuses for the situation. They eventually offered compensation, but instead of refunding the night I personally paid for ($269), they refunded one of the nights that had been booked using my mother's reward points. In other words, the credit didn't even go back to the person who actually paid cash for the stay. Beyond the service issues, the property itself is poorly maintained. The AC units appear locked and do not properly cool the room. The shower bases are stained brown, the shower caddy is dirty, and metal fixtures throughout the room are rusting. The beds have almost no padding and the pillows smelled strongly of sweat. Housekeeping service was inconsistent and my room was never cleaned during the stay. I have stayed at the Cambria in Fargo, ND and had a completely different experience. Unfortunately this location felt closer to a budget motel than a Cambria hotel. I hope Choice Hotels corporate reviews this property because the guest experience and privacy issues during my stay were far below expected Cambria brand standards.

I was delighted that we experienced such positive customer service, good food and drinks onsite, and nice accommodations. I ordered a room with two queen beds (though I later learned I would be heading here on my own). As an IHG status member, I received an upgrade to a king-bed suite upon my arrival. The suite I ended up with had a nice living area, a kitchenette, a very comfortable bed, and a balcony (though only to the neighboring street). The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful with any questions I had. While my colleagues all received a $ 5-off-a-drink coupon, I received that plus a free beverage at the bar. If I didn't want alcohol, I could go into the store and pick up a food item of my choice, which was quite generous. While I didn't have time on this visit to use the fitness center or the pool, I had the opportunity to check out those spaces, which I look forward to using when I return (if the pool is heated in the Fall). I also got a tour of the property, which has great meeting spaces for a group of 150-200 people. I also visited the bar in the lobby and the on-site restaurant, both of which had great service, tasty food, and beverages. I did pay extra for parking, though I had no other choice, and the price was reasonable at only $15 per day. As the Crowne Plaza is a part of the IHG® One Rewards, you can pay $225 USD or pay 40,000 IHG points to become an InterContinental Ambassador for 12 months. This comes up a guaranteed one category room upgrade, guaranteed extended 4pm check-out, one complimentary weekend night per year, Platinum Elite status in IHG® One Rewards (and the corresponding benefits), complimentary mineral water, complimentary internet, dedicated check-in area, single room rate for double occupancy, restaurants & bars credit of up to USD20 for every stay (depending on location), and complimentary breakfast for one each night you stay (Mainland China only). Note that Ambassador benefits only apply to actual InterContinental Hotels. Platinum Elite status includes 60% bonus points, Hertz Gold+® Five Star Status, welcome amenity at check-in, early check-in, 2 PM late check-out, and more. Platinum Elite benefits apply to any IHG property. I certainly recommend that someone in Chandler, Arizona, looking for a hotel consider this as an option. It's certainly worth it! I look forward to returning.

We were traveling from Kentucky to California and had a reservation at Homewood Suites by Hilton Phoenix/Chandler. Unfortunately, our vehicle suffered a major engine failure during the trip, leaving us stranded and unable to continue our travel plans. As a result, we needed to extend our stay. I called the hotel to request an extension and spoke with Assistant Manager Mariana Tumalle. I explained that I could not be physically present because I was dealing with the vehicle breakdown. The hotel already had my reservation, payment information, and card details on file through my booking. Despite this, Ms. Tumalle repeatedly refused to assist us over the phone and insisted that I had to be present in person. My wife was listed on the reservation and was physically at the hotel. She offered to use her own credit card to extend the stay, yet Ms. Tumalle still refused to help. What made the situation even more upsetting was that our son, who has autism, was experiencing a severe crisis at the time. We explained our circumstances and she could clearly see our child's distress, but she showed no empathy, compassion, or willingness to help. My wife then asked if a late checkout could be granted simply as a courtesy so she could calmly gather our belongings while waiting for family assistance with our son. Ms. Tumalle refused, stating that the room was needed and that housekeeping had to clean it. I later called again and spoke with the hotel manager, who was professional, courteous, and understanding. The manager immediately informed me that my wife could extend the reservation. Through a FaceTime call, I provided identification, and the manager confirmed there was no issue with extending our stay. This clearly demonstrated that the situation could have been resolved all along. By that point, however, my wife felt uncomfortable, embarrassed, and unwelcome due to the way she had been treated. Given the stress of our son's condition and the lack of basic customer service from Ms. Tumalle, we decided to leave the hotel. To be clear, we understand that a late checkout is not guaranteed and is provided at the hotel's discretion. Our complaint is not about being denied a favor. Our complaint is about the disrespectful, dismissive, and insensitive manner in which we were treated during a difficult family situation involving a child with a disability. The hotel manager handled the matter professionally and deserves recognition for her excellent customer service. Unfortunately, Assistant Manager Mariana Tumalle displayed behavior that was rude, condescending, and completely inconsistent with the level of hospitality we have come to expect from Hilton. Customer service should always be a priority in the hospitality industry. Guests should never be made to feel like a burden, especially when facing unexpected hardships. I sincerely hope ownership and management review this incident and take appropriate action so that no other family has to experience the same treatment. Based solely on our interaction with Assistant Manager Mariana Tumalle, this was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences we have ever had at a Hilton property.

The clerk brushed me off, rushed me along, and never moved me to another room. They "cleaned it" like it was nothing. NO MATTRESS ENCASEMENTS. NO PROPER INSPECTION. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. That negligence followed me home. Within months I had a FULL BED BUG INFESTATION IN MY OWN HOUSE. Thousands of dollars gone. Countless sleepless nights. Two years later, I am STILL dealing with the fallout of this stay. And here's the kicker: I am NOT the only one. This hotel has a PUBLIC HISTORY of bed bugs: * Sarin T. (4 years ago): "BED BUG ALERT - woke up with 10+ bites overnight, management brushed it off." Now my case in 2023. Same story. Same property. SAME COVER-UP. This is a pattern of negligence, not a mistake. And shame on ASPEN DENTAL for knowingly putting trainees in this dump. If you value your health, your sanity, and your home: STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. Bed bugs don't just ruin your night. They follow you home and can ruin YEARS of your life.
