Stayed here for a few days over the holidays, this hotel used to be the only place to stay while in town. There are a lot of newer hotels on the waterfront but none have the stop on the water this one does. A premium location, in the middle of it all on the riverfront and amazing views of the river, town and the area. Valet service, with porters makes checking in and out much less stressful. The front desk staff are all professional and kind. Check in was simple and straightforward. Coffee service every morning by the front desk. The room, a king room on the fourth floor, the terrace floor. If you are staying in this hotel you want the fourth floor. Our room overlooked the park, and we were just a few doors down thw corner from the terrace entry. The room was very comfortable and the bed was too. We enjoyed breakfast two mornings at the hotel. Its convenient, with a nice selection. There is a buffet, as well as from the menu, we went with the menu both days. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the location and friendly staff 01078
Great stay at the Hyatt Regency Savannah! The Garden Level rooms had great views of the river and had a great outdoors area for relaxation. The location was ideal for me as it's on the river which had great running paths and is close to many restaurants and bars. The work conference I attended was being held in the hotel which was really well set up. The food and hospitality were excellent.
The good about this hotel and we have stayed here several times is when you get a room facing the river it's great to watch the freighters and various ships go by in fact that's the only reason we choose this hotel. Our first day we had a leak in the bathroom from the ceiling and even though it was reported no one ever came in did anything about it so we always had to leave a towel on the floor otherwise it would be a puddle This time, of course we are there during the cooler months and had to use the heat. Woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning and my head was spinning had to open the patio door to get some fresh air and not sure if it was related to the heat or what it was , but I've never woke up this way before except the one night we had to turn the heat on. For a Hyatt hotel, the rooms definitely need to be modernized for the price they charge by the time you pay for your room pay for valet parking. Pay for tips for valet parking and everything else the cost add up quickly. This is a dog friendly hotel, and I saw no issues in regards to people and dogs so that was a plus Well, we stay here again most likely we will because of the views but up to three times we've been here. I would say this time has probably been the worst experience of all of them.
I stayed here for two nights during my trip to Savannah. Check in was super simple and the front desk assistant was super nice. We were offered complementary cocktails at check in. I stayed in a room that had a queen size bed with an area for sitting under a desk. Each room is equipped with complimentary lotion, shampoo and conditioner. All rooms are also equipped with a small mini fridge and an iron. A microwave can be located in the lobby. There's a restaurant downstairs that I had the privilege to eat at and it was super delicious. They stay open until 11 PM. There's also a bar. This hotel is located across the street from pretty good restaurants and walking distance from the strip. The lobby has great views of river.
This is an amazing hotel. Right on the river. Live music at night. Everyone is very helpful. The room is very nice.

For the location, it is reasonable for the tourisy area. 3+ star. * Accommodation: spacious room, indoor pool, gym, toiletries, fridge, a coffee maker with supply, a safe, an ironer, 2 free water bottles, a hair dryer. There are no slippers or bath robe. 3-4 star. * Location: very convenient right on the river walk, historic district. Closed to all restaurants and shops. 5 star. * Motif: modern lobby, nice and clean rooms as expected for Hyatt brand. 4 star. * Service: nice and friendly. We left our Bluetooth headset and charger after checking out. The housekeeping staff mailed to us. 5 star. Stayed here overnight while visiting Savannah. We booked the river view suite via the World of Hyatt. We were able to get early check-in and late check-out, waived resort fee. We only have to pay the valet fee. There is public parking across the street for $25 per day. It is a very convenient location. The river walk is right outside of the hotel, with a nice sunset view of the bridge, many restaurants, and bars. The lobby of the Marriott with dinosaur and mineral exhibition is worth checking out. We did not eat at the Hyatt 's restaurants. We had dinner at the Olde Pink house and brunch at Vic's on the river (see my reviews for these). The suite has a big king bed with comfy bedding and a pullout sofa bed, 2 big flat screen TVs with netflix. Overall, it is a nice hotel to stay in the area. I was surprised that they had only 3 star.
It's a nice hotel friendly service clean room. I do wish however they would update their towels they are a little dingy and some of them had holes
I did not stay here; reviewing as an event space. The main atrium is quite pretty, and on the bottom level a lounge overlooks the river. There are some great views to be had of passing boats. Some conference rooms offer similar views. The event room was spacious and there weren't a ton of technical issues for the complex meeting I was there for. I also noted plenty of clean bathroom stalls that were nice and private for changing in and out of business wear. I lost a hat and it was recovered and found for me (and it's a good hat). So a pretty solid venue from my perspective. Looked like a nice place to stay if you can pay for it.
The Hyatt Regency Savannah is a very nice hotel in a convenient downtown riverfront location. I was able to check-in early, and although the room had two smaller beds instead of the king sized bed I wanted, that was the cost I was willing to pay to check in early. The room was modern and clean with a large screen TV that had Netflix. There was no microwave in the room, but there was one in the ice machine room. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I was able to get a good meal at the hotel bar while watching the Eagles game. There is no free breakfast or club lounge at this Hyatt, and no Chromecast. But I would definitely stay again the next time I'm in savannah.
Good thing about this hotel is it is next to the river. Don't need to cross the street to get to the riverside. However, the room I was assigned to does not go below 70°F. A/C been on the whole time and I think the coldest I could remember was 72 around 4am. It stays 75 throughout the day. Also, NO MICROWAVE in the rooms. Not sure why but it just doesn't exist in the rooms. Valet parking is not worth it. I would say do a self park instead. Parking is just across the street anyway.
The hotel is nice, especially the expansive lobby. But the fees add up quickly. When we arrived we asked how much valet was and response was "Expensive". Asked again, and price was $48 per night. We ended up using the valet since we had a baby in tow. When we checked in, we found there was a resort amenity fee that tacked on to the cost. We had no other option so got up to our room. They put us next to the ice machine and community microwave. Not an issue initially but with a baby we quickly figured out the sound proofing was not optimal. Someone made popcorn every night we stayed at the hotel at 9 pm right as we were going to bed and the smell creeped into our room due to a half inch gap from the floor to the door. The room was decent. I didn't feel comfortable walking around barefoot so would recommend packing flip flops. Then, there was no barrier from the shower to bathroom floor so water easily splashes on the floor. The location of this hotel was great and the views are amazing. On the plus side our doggie was greeted with a goodie bag upon arrival so this review is mixed, not all bad but definitely some room for improvement. I figured out on day 2 of stay that you can park literally a block away for $20 a night. It's self park in a garage with about a thousand spaces near Ellis Square. Try it out if you are comfortable saving money and not worried about your car getting vandalized or broken into.
Four night stay at the Hyatt Regency Savannah. Loved the location in Historic Downtown Savannah Front entrance is on Bay St that leads you to numerous restaurants, bars, music, art, & plenty shopping & the Savannah River Boat "Georgia Queen" (located on River St.) Hotel has an elevator that takes right down to River Street. No need for a car or ride-share everything is within a short walking distance. Hotel Staff Outstanding! Rooms are specious - we had a river view room 6th floor very cool. You can see the large container ships moving up the river to the port - it's an interesting site. Had excellent service with the front desk & restaurant - bartenders super friendly, but they were over worked at times (Happy Hour) They offer a complimentary glass of Wine/Beer daily (with a ticket) from 4pm till 6pm. Rooms are comfortable & up to date. Frig, coffee maker (Keurig), safe Daily 2 bottles of Complimentary waters. Only issue was that room service was inconsistent at times, they didn't provide sugars/creamers for coffee as well as replenishing the complementary daily water on a regular basis (as it's a part of your room package) One day we didn't even get Housekeeping Services - had to hunt down a housekeeper working on our floor in order to get towels, etc. If I was coming to Savannah again, I would stay here because of its location and the staff was very professional- the front desk is exceptional, every staff member was excellent. One person to point out is Tequila who was friendly and super helpful!
My husband and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. Very clean, and staff is super friendly. The only issue I had was that our room never got as cool as we would have liked but it was comfortable enough. Savannah was in the 90's when we were there so I get it. And we were on the 6th floor so it was hot as hell. That's the only negative. Beautiful view of the river and it is located in walking distance to everything. Definitely recommend this one! read more

They get a star for location and for all elevators working which isn't typical for Hyatt. Valet was pretty easy and that team was friendly. Everything else was typical Hyatt. Double beds that aren't comfortable. AC didn't cool and engineering just turned it down lower. That's not how AC works, engineering. Lol! Bathtub didn't drain properly. Location is really great but go over to the Andaz for a little more upscale experience. read more

We travel a good deal and booked this hotel based on reviews and experience with other Hyatt properties. Compared to other hotels in this price range (high) this place was a dump. -The exterior is terribly dated and doesn't fit with the historic Savannah surroundings. -The river view we paid extra for was a view of a shipping yard. Plus huge container ships came through regularly, sounding a horn that would wake the dead at all hours of the day and night. -The entire hotel was loud. We could hear every move in the rooms adjoining ours, plus the parties going on below us. -The room needed work but worse than that, it wasn't kept clean. The bed was very roughly made and some towels replaced during the day and that's it. Floors were not cleaned nor trash cleared away. I would never recommend this hotel. read more
Plusses 1) Huge Room 2) Outstanding location between the scores of places on River Street and hundreds of places across the street. 3) Big bathroom with a great shower, and you need multiple showers a day in this super hot and muggy city 4) The Air conditioning throughout the complex and our room was superb! 5) Very good free internet 6) Big lobby with a big bar and outdoor patio. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy 7) The food and service for our convention was great Negatives 1) No real Business Center, just two lobby desktop computers. 2) The Desktop computers are free for 15 minutes, then you have to pay for them. Oh and you have to pay for printing too. I've never seen this before. 3) There is no copy machine. 4) A cold bottle of water costs $3 at the gift shop. The same cold bottle of water in a hotel vending machine will cost you $2. 5) Elevators are slow and we had breakdowns on a few days. read more

Stayed here with my mom for a girls weekend! Everyone was super friendly & everything was very clean! Our favorite moments were morning breakfast and getting to chat with Ms. Polly! We will come back just to see her! read more

This place is absolutely gorgeous and just a couple of feet from the River Walk. The staff are very professional, helpful, and friendly. While we waited for our room to be prepared for early check-in, we ordered drinks from the bar at Moss and Oak restaurant. Then we sat in the air-conditioned riverfront lounge, out of the heat, and enjoyed our tasty drinks. Once, our room was ready we headed up and were pleased with its spaciousness and cleanliness. We had a riverfront room on the 7th floor. Jackpot!!!! Will definitely be staying here again. The bed and pillows are super comfortable and I live that they have a Keurig coffeemaker and not that little cheap pot that always makes horrible tasting coffee! Great job Hyatt! Can't wait to come back... The price wasn't bad either (about $160 including taxes & fees) considering it's riverfront location, access to Netflix on the TV, if you have an account, and free Wi-Fi! Please be mindful of the $30 valet parking and $50 incidentals hold on your credit card. read more

This was my first time staying at this hotel in Savannah. It has a great location right on River Street. This place has everything you could possibly need, right within walking distance. I do recommend that way parking your car instead of parking on the street upon your arrival. The rooms are extremely clean and everything is all aces here. When you check-in ask to see if you can get a Riverview because it is quite possibly one of the best views out of any of the hotels I've stayed at. Next time we are in Savannah I do think we will start staying at this hotel rather than a budget friendly one down the road. read more

All positive! Great location, big rooms, very clean, and super views of the river. View the huge ships going by- so close they seem to be just outside the large lobby windows. The lobby is lovely. The concierge is very helpful. It is near the free public bus transportation routes. You can just take an elevator down to the river walk and the night life. (I advise taking your trip to see the historic areas in beautiful Savannah with its ballast stone streets and Spanish moss covered trees, during the months of Nov-March, when the weather isn't so hot and humid, and you can enjoy this hotel's great central location. ) read more

This place is disgusting. Sheets were filthy, room filled with dust, and lack of service. We even had articles of clothing from a previous guest. You can clearly see this room was not cleaned. They ended up moving us to a new room. Mind you, we had to move all of our own luggage. The new room was also filled with dust and sheets were dirty. I would avoid this place like COVID-19! read more

What a sorry state of hotel mismanagement... a stark contrast to my most positive experiences at other Hyatt properties. Starting with the arrival as we drove up to the entrance, we had to wave down a valet attendant to take our car, and then request a bellman to help us with our luggage. Then the most surly bell attendant didn't like being told how we wanted our possessions handled. Such a negative attitude with an audacious combination of disrespect and insolence caused us to feel that we didn't want to check in. She acted as she was entitled to do her job they way she wanted, and us expressing our desires was interference and disrespecting her!! What an attitude of entitlement!! We advised the front desk supervisor, who we asked to escort us and our belongings to our room, so we wouldn't have to deal with the bell attendant. Our room was fine, except the lack of cleanliness was noted (see accompanying photos). Further, the housekeeping staff did the minimal job of replacing our tissues (facial and bath) as absolutely necessary (again, see accompanying photos). Breakfast in the dining room was very mixed. The actual buffet was excellent, yet the lack of service from the staff was noted. Since 75% of the breakfast diners have breakfast included in their stay, the tips are automatic, and therefore the staff doesn't have to service the guest, nor the used dish area (again, refer to the accompanying photos). So, we are forced to dine with the stand of used dishes and cleaning supplies in our face!!! We had turn down service once in three nights. One evening, when I called @ 9:30pm inquiring about the service (not that I really needed it at that point), the supervisor apologized stating that they were busy, and had forgotten. Though I asked for extra coffee to be delivered each day, I had to request this twice, each day!!! This was my second visit to this Hyatt property in Savannah, and I will do everything in my power to stay elsewhere on my next visit!!! Upon checkout, I asked for the managers card so I could share my experiences via email/phone. The clerk instead had the Asst Mgr come out, and after hearing that I felt the hotel failed in delivering good service, to his credit, he offered to comp my stay. I refused, as that wasn't the point of my sharing my comments. I just felt the hotel could be so much more, especially in a tourist town. read more
This hotel exudes the ambiance of a VIP hotel yet with reasonable prices. Upon arrival at this hotel, I was greeted by valet which was $35/per night -- expected during busy seasons in this beautiful city. Check-in was quick and simple although they had several large groups checking in. The spaces inside the hotel include a full service bar, restaurant, small grocery store among some of the best rooftop areas in the city. All these are very up to date, modern and give off a sense of immediate relaxation after walking in. The room was impeccable. Often times, even at extremely nice hotels - you still notice things in the room that were clearly painted over and rushed but these rooms were done with detail in mind. The bathrooms were clean and super functional. The room service and other in-room services were spot on and more than accommodating. With me traveling to Savannah at least 6x a year, this will be my hotel of choice from now on. read more

A disclaimer before I launch into this review... I did not stay overnight, so cannot speak to the bedrooms. However, I did attend a 2-day training in their conference room spaces and feel like I can speak to those services. I was SUPER impressed with the staff. They were like friendly ninjas, always having a meal or snack break ready, clearing dirty dishes without making a peep, etc. and always with a smile! The food was particularly impressive considering they were preparing it for almost 100-people. The meeting rooms were spacious and comfortable. It got chilly at times but that's only because we were in charge of the thermostat and cranked it way too low. The hotel is centrally located along the river in Savannah so as soon as training is over, you can jet to drinks or dinner or sight seeing. All in all, if I must spend 16+ hours in training, this is the place I'd want to do it! read more

Excellent location. You will have easy access to river walk and all Savannah has to offer by foot. Beautiful lobby with river views (floor-to-ceiling windows). Good breakfast but overpriced. Valet is also way overpriced, especially since it's not really valet (you have to retrieve your car from a parking garage when checking out). Overall, I would recommend staying here. read more
It's a beautiful hotel sitting right in heart of downtown on bay and river street in Savannah. Unfortunately I wasn't too happy with your valet service. I understand space is a problem but when we arrived he asked us to park our car by the entrance of the tunnel and we had to then unpack and drag our luggage on the corner and walk back to front lobby area. There was no offered assistance and he was very rude. Taller younger blonde haired man around 130 yesterday afternoon. We waited 25 minutes for our car despite texting for it this morning. Force Charging us $31 a day is crazy in itself. We also found a bug in room that looks similar to a bed bug. It might be a dust mite but either way not happy. read more

The Hyatt Regency Savannah is located on Bay and Whitaker Street along and along the Savannah River in the Historic District. I've passed through or near Savannah many times. In all the years driving along I-95 on the way to Florida Savannah has always been one of those places we always said we would visit but since seeing my family in Florida was always the priority we had to make the time. Being that this would be our first visit to Savannah I wanted to make sure we chose the right place to stay since we'd our stay would only be one full day and night before having to get back on the road the following morning. I looked at a bunch of places the evening before while we were in Jacksonville and for a Thursday night stay it seemed hard to get a two night stay with a reasonable price across the board whether there was availability or not and it seemed from the very few choices available, the Hyatt had the best price for the location. The location for the Hyatt is prime. It's along the river, actually part of the river walk at ground level, near Ellis Square, near the Old Town Trolley stop and walking distance to many points of interest nearby. Savannah has quite a hotels for a city its size but that's understandable since they have a decent draw of tourism. I was driving so I wanted to know how much the parking was going to me. Online it was mentioned that the Hyatt offered valet for 30 dollars a day. In doing some research I found that there was a city parking lot just half a block away and their daily max was 16 dollars for 24 hours. I figured that would be a better deal considering I wasn't going to drive at all in the city until we were leaving. While the official check in time is 4pm, we came straight from Jacksonville which is about a 2 hour drive so I parked at the front to see if it was possible for an earlier check in around noon time. At first there wasn't a room ready so I had given my cell number for an update and while I was in the hotel I received the call that the room was ready so we didn't have to leave and was able to check in just around noon time. I had booked through Expedia and with that I was able to select the room type and bed type. I had chosen a river view with king bed and the room was great. Since the hotel had a river view, the room was at the north part of the building across River Street. The room was surprisingly spacious, had a fridge close to the bathroom with a large Smart TV which had the capability of Netflix, Youtube, etc being that it was network connected. The room was quite comfortable and the hotel itself had a more modern look inside as well as being a large open atrium type structure with rooms facing the atrium as well as rooms facing outward. As far as big hotel chains go, Hyatt has a good reputation for being a nice place to stay. This particular Hyatt hotel in my opinion lives up to that. Highlights: - Modern room and facility - A1 location for first time visitors - Walking distance to River Street, Ellis Square, nearby restaurants - Valet parking offered but nearby municipal parking also available - Great views possible - Spacious room - Smart TV - Mini fridge - Friendly and helpful staff read more

Pros and Cons: First, the pros, which are many. We recently stayed 3 nights. The Hyatt is situated on the Savannah River, and we had a king size, river view room. I wouldn't have it any other way. The views were spectacular! My husband and I were glued to the windows watching the barges traverse up and down the river at all hours of the day and night. Riverwalk, below, is a fantastic place for shops and food. The hotel was extremely clean. We dined at the hotel restaurant and the waitstaff were amazing. They were kind, considerate, always smiling, and just a pleasure! We felt safe, with most folks being masked. We took advantage of the valet parking, albeit it $38 per night, but when we saw the parking garage a bit cheaper off property and up a block or two, it was well worth the extra money to valet park. The valet staff were awesome! We never waited for our vehicle. Be sure to tip them well because they deserve it! The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft. Now for the cons: 1. Upon arrival to our room, there was a very soiled mask on the floor. Cleaning staff should have seen this. 2. Then, I had to visit the front desk a COUPLE of times because our toilet was flushing very slow and sometimes not flushing at all. I called them on the phone a couple of times. It took until 8 p.m. for a gentleman to come up and plunge it. This was very irritating because we were enjoying the downtown history area, taking walking tours, and constantly returning to our room. But we couldn't use the toilet! I feel that a whole day without a toilet is not acceptable. read more

Impeccable service at the front desk. House cleaning or upkeep is another issue. I had a room change due to the sewage smell in my room. It also appeared that my first room was partially serviced with dry spills on the table and trash in the bathroom. The lamp shade was very dusty and cracked and the ceiling was cracked with what appeared to be paint handing from the ceiling. The lobby and restaurant were great. The staff was very helpful throughout my visit. read more

The Hyatt Regency Savannah on Bay Street in Savannah is a great place to stay that is in the middle of everything. I really like the location and being able to walk to everything nearby and the views of the river. This staff here is very accommodating and works hard to make sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay. I have had an excellent experience every time that I have been here. read more
Came for a girls weekend and had 3 rooms for 3 families. Staff was great with early check in. We get into one of rooms and it was absolutely disgusting. Blood on the blinds, no shower curtain, dust everywhere. Just filthy. The housekeeping manager was wonderful and switched our room immediately when they were at full capacity. Second room was still dirty but a lot better. Stains on the lamp (pictured), tub drain was clogged with hair in it as well as a live bug that popped up while i was showering. For $250 a night it was more like a $75 motel 6. The positives: the location was perfect. Couldn't have had better. All the staff was super sweet and helpful. The terrace overlooking the river was beautiful however definitely not worth the price point. read more
I stayed over the weekend and stayed in a room with a balcony terrace. Came here for a get away from the city. It was very clean facility. You had to be masked to enter and there was a limit of 4 people in the elevators. There was also plenty of sanitizer around. What I liked about this location is that next door there's an elevator that goes down to River Street where there were plenty of restaurants and touristy things. read more
