We were so excited as this was our second stay at this hotel. but during our second stay, we had damage done to our vehicle during valet having our vehicle. You can clearly see that the damage would have been done during parking. Unfortunately we didn't see this until we got home, which was 5 hours later, but called the hotel right away. This hotel is in a great location and very walkable. Downstairs there's a coffee shop/eatery. The lobby is expansive and well appointed. There's a small General store downstairs off the lobby also. There you can find all the obvious things. Parking is VALET ONLY. Clearly one of the nicest places in downtown. The price point in comparison to the finishes didn't quite equal out. At over $300 a night and required valet we could've stayed at The Westin. But we wanted to walk around. The Westin would have required a ferry ride (made this mistake before) The staff has been friendly and the hotel is clean. We would stay again. read more

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. Very clean, and staff is super friendly. The only issue I had was that our room never got as cool as we would have liked but it was comfortable enough. Savannah was in the 90's when we were there so I get it. And we were on the 6th floor so it was hot as hell. That's the only negative. We had reservations for Friday night. We showed up pretty late after dinner, around 1 pm. We had a room reservation for a 2 queen bed room. We checked in and they gave us a room on the 7th floor. We went up to our room only to find it is the hospitality suite. That didn't seem right so we went back down to the front desk and told them our issue. They asked us if we touched anything rather than apologizing for their mistake. They gave us a room on the 6th floor, which was what we actually reserved. We go to our room and it was missing any soap & shampoo in the bathroom. We found some, but it was one issue after another with this spot. I cannot say I would return or recommend this spot to anyone. There are quite a few better options available in the area. read more

From the time I set foot on this property, the staff was awful. With the exception of two young ladies, customer service was terrible. The valet, Tequilla at the front desk, booking...I was double charged for the room and cut off and spoken to rudely when I called the desk to inquire about the issue. We travel a good deal and booked this hotel based on reviews and experience with other Hyatt properties. Compared to other hotels in this price range (high) this place was a dump. -The exterior is terribly dated and doesn't fit with the historic Savannah surroundings. -The river view we paid extra for was a view of a shipping yard. Plus huge container ships came through regularly, sounding a horn that would wake the dead at all hours of the day and night. -The entire hotel was loud. We could hear every move in the rooms adjoining ours, plus the parties going on below us. -The room needed work but worse than that, it wasn't kept clean. The bed was very roughly made and some towels replaced during the day and that's it. Floors were not cleaned nor trash cleared away. I would never recommend this hotel. read more

Nice views, nice facility, nice furnishings, cool glass elevators, the ambiance is nice. On-property food and drink is also NICE. Good food, not 5 stars but good and very nice dinning / lounge area. Of course, over priced for the quality of the food but it's a hotel restaurant so, you know, the thing. Nothing to write home about but nice. Valet parking is overpriced, as usual for a Hyatt in this location. But it is VERY convenient to park your vehicle and NOT retrieve it until checkout. No need to drive anywhere, did I mention...LOCATION? The BAD: Pet friendly! Sort of. $150 flat fee for 2 nights is re-godamn-diculous. $50 is pretty standard at most pet-friendly hotels. Let's call this "pet-hostage" pricing. Come on Hyatt! It's not as if everyone's dog isn't house trained. The UGLY: The down side are the rooms themselves. As others mentioned, no coffee in the room! What? At $300 per night, you expect coffee. Matter of fact, I expect a microwave at that price point. The bed was just barely OK. Honestly, for a new property, they went all NOT in on the bedding. Pretty much HolidayInn Express mattress, with ultra-craptastic pillows. The pillows are bags half-filled with down. ZERO head/neck support...pretty much what my Army boot camp pillow was like in 1985. Buy some GD decent pillows Hyatt! The BOTTOM LINE: This is an OK hotel in a GREAT LOCATION that you're going to pay WAY TOO MUCH for. If you're on a budget, keep shopping. Vehicle was returned from Valet with multiple scratches on hood and passenger side. Most are deep and I will have to repaint the car. Someone also had locked the console & turned off a feature for the vehicle. When I went to get vehicle from valet it was already out. I did not call. My guess is someone took the car off premises. This place is absolutely gorgeous and just a couple of feet from the River Walk. The staff are very professional, helpful, and friendly. While we waited for our room to be prepared for early check-in, we ordered drinks from the bar at Moss and Oak restaurant. Then we sat in the air-conditioned riverfront lounge, out of the heat, and enjoyed our tasty drinks. Once, our room was ready we headed up and were pleased with its spaciousness and cleanliness. We had a riverfront room on the 7th floor. Jackpot!!!! Will definitely be staying here again. The bed and pillows are super comfortable and I live that they have a Keurig coffeemaker and not that little cheap pot that always makes horrible tasting coffee! Great job Hyatt! Can't wait to come back... The price wasn't bad either (about $160 including taxes & fees) considering it's riverfront location, access to Netflix on the TV, if you have an account, and free Wi-Fi! This was my first time staying at this hotel in Savannah. It has a great location right on River Street. This place has everything you could possibly need, right within walking distance. I do recommend that way parking your car instead of parking on the street upon your arrival. The rooms are extremely clean and everything is all aces here. When you check-in ask to see if you can get a Riverview because it is quite possibly one of the best views out of any of the hotels I've stayed at. Next time we are in Savannah I do think we will start staying at this hotel rather than a budget friendly one down the road. read more

Rooms are nice but a bit beat up. Bathroom is very small for the space. Location can't be beat, Moss & Oak is one of the best hotel restaurants we have experienced. Brittney is a gem and made the experience worthwhile. Our issues lie with the valet and housekeeping. We declined housekeeping but due to a coffee spillage needed new sheets. We said that 3 times to the front desk. All they did was pull up the sheets. Then we try to leave. The valet lost the keys to my car. And now we are in a rental having to leave my vehicle behind because of their incompetence. There are many other hotels along River Street. I would stay anywhere else that provides better service than this. read more

We scored by booking here!! Everyone has been so very helpful from the valet, to the front desk, to the concierge to the waitress! Make sure you book your room with the breakfast buffet because it is incredible! I'm a big fan of smoked lox, and they had that, and all the fresh berries you would want! the hotel itself is beautifully decorated and situated to over look the river/ very pretty view..however some things I don't like- there is only valet parking or you can walk two blocks to a parking garage - and walk back with your luggage - the parking at the hotel that's valet only is 40$ a night and not even included even if you have a room. rooms are very small/ beds are not comfortable at all.. stains all over our carpet .. and when we tried to take a shower the bottom of the showers filled up with water so you stand there in more than ankle deep water that won't drain.. gross.. but it's all about the location and this is prime time for that read more

All positive! Great location, big rooms, very clean, and super views of the river. View the huge ships going by- so close they seem to be just outside the large lobby windows. The lobby is lovely. The concierge is very helpful. It is near the free public bus transportation routes. You can just take an elevator down to the river walk and the night life. (I advise taking your trip to see the historic areas in beautiful Savannah with its ballast stone streets and Spanish moss covered trees, during the months of Nov-March, when the weather isn't so hot and humid, and you can enjoy this hotel's great central location. ) read more

I usually stay at this hotel twice a month with co workers. Last week I made a reservation a week in advance. When I checked in, the hostess advised that there were no more rooms available and that I would have to sleep on a couch in the hospitality suite. Again, I booked a king room. So, I went on the website to see if the hotel was sold out for the week and they were still selling rooms for that day. In fact, my assistant booked a king room 20 minutes before I checked in. I ended up calling customer service and they got me into a double room. However, the room was not clean. I will never book this hotel again and I have advised for my peers to stay away as well. read more

This hotel exudes the ambiance of a VIP hotel yet with reasonable prices. Upon arrival at this hotel, I was greeted by valet which was $35/per night -- expected during busy seasons in this beautiful city. Check-in was quick and simple although they had several large groups checking in. The spaces inside the hotel include a full service bar, restaurant, small grocery store among some of the best rooftop areas in the city. All these are very up to date, modern and give off a sense of immediate relaxation after walking in. The room was impeccable. Often times, even at extremely nice hotels - you still notice things in the room that were clearly painted over and rushed but these rooms were done with detail in mind. The bathrooms were clean and super functional. The room service and other in-room services were spot on and more than accommodating. With me traveling to Savannah at least 6x a year, this will be my hotel of choice from now on. read more

I rarely stay at an establishment that charges for parking. Over night parking here will run you baker price of $38 a night. For what your paying for a room per night, parking needs to be included. We had a 2 night stay at The President Quarters which was for us first class service. No room service and tbe priceses for snacks in the lobby is just like airport terminal prices. Will not stay here again. Only plus is that it is located ok the water front with amazing view and beautiful deco. Staff is top notch as well. read more

The location was ideal. We loved that the hotel had its own elevator to river street especially we had a stroller and my mother in law has a cane. The bathrooms in the rooms can do will some maintenance touches . Our bathroom ceiling was peeling terribly and the hotel restaurant was overpriced and underwhelming. The beds were comfortable. What a sorry state of hotel mismanagement... a stark contrast to my most positive experiences at other Hyatt properties. Starting with the arrival as we drove up to the entrance, we had to wave down a valet attendant to take our car, and then request a bellman to help us with our luggage. Then the most surly bell attendant didn't like being told how we wanted our possessions handled. Such a negative attitude with an audacious combination of disrespect and insolence caused us to feel that we didn't want to check in. She acted as she was entitled to do her job they way she wanted, and us expressing our desires was interference and disrespecting her!! What an attitude of entitlement!! We advised the front desk supervisor, who we asked to escort us and our belongings to our room, so we wouldn't have to deal with the bell attendant. Our room was fine, except the lack of cleanliness was noted (see accompanying photos). Further, the housekeeping staff did the minimal job of replacing our tissues (facial and bath) as absolutely necessary (again, see accompanying photos). Breakfast in the dining room was very mixed. The actual buffet was excellent, yet the lack of service from the staff was noted. Since 75% of the breakfast diners have breakfast included in their stay, the tips are automatic, and therefore the staff doesn't have to service the guest, nor the used dish area (again, refer to the accompanying photos). So, we are forced to dine with the stand of used dishes and cleaning supplies in our face!!! We had turn down service once in three nights. One evening, when I called @ 9:30pm inquiring about the service (not that I really needed it at that point), the supervisor apologized stating that they were busy, and had forgotten. Though I asked for extra coffee to be delivered each day, I had to request this twice, each day!!! This was my second visit to this Hyatt property in Savannah, and I will do everything in my power to stay elsewhere on my next visit!!! Upon checkout, I asked for the managers card so I could share my experiences via email/phone. The clerk instead had the Asst Mgr come out, and after hearing that I felt the hotel failed in delivering good service, to his credit, he offered to comp my stay. It's a beautiful hotel sitting right in heart of downtown on bay and river street in Savannah. Unfortunately I wasn't too happy with your valet service. I understand space is a problem but when we arrived he asked us to park our car by the entrance of the tunnel and we had to then unpack and drag our luggage on the corner and walk back to front lobby area. There was no offered assistance and he was very rude. Taller younger blonde haired man around 130 yesterday afternoon. We waited 25 minutes for our car despite texting for it this morning. Force Charging us $31 a day is crazy in itself. We also found a bug in room that looks similar to a bed bug. It might be a dust mite but either way not happy. read more

A disclaimer before I launch into this review... I did not stay overnight, so cannot speak to the bedrooms. However, I did attend a 2-day training in their conference room spaces and feel like I can speak to those services. I was SUPER impressed with the staff. They were like friendly ninjas, always having a meal or snack break ready, clearing dirty dishes without making a peep, etc. and always with a smile! The food was particularly impressive considering they were preparing it for almost 100-people. The meeting rooms were spacious and comfortable. It got chilly at times but that's only because we were in charge of the thermostat and cranked it way too low. The hotel is centrally located along the river in Savannah so as soon as training is over, you can jet to drinks or dinner or sight seeing. All in all, if I must spend 16+ hours in training, this is the place I'd want to do it! read more

The Hyatt Regency Savannah is located on Bay and Whitaker Street along and along the Savannah River in the Historic District. I've passed through or near Savannah many times. In all the years driving along I-95 on the way to Florida Savannah has always been one of those places we always said we would visit but since seeing my family in Florida was always the priority we had to make the time. Being that this would be our first visit to Savannah I wanted to make sure we chose the right place to stay since we'd our stay would only be one full day and night before having to get back on the road the following morning. I looked at a bunch of places the evening before while we were in Jacksonville and for a Thursday night stay it seemed hard to get a two night stay with a reasonable price across the board whether there was availability or not and it seemed from the very few choices available, the Hyatt had the best price for the location. The location for the Hyatt is prime. It's along the river, actually part of the river walk at ground level, near Ellis Square, near the Old Town Trolley stop and walking distance to many points of interest nearby. Savannah has quite a hotels for a city its size but that's understandable since they have a decent draw of tourism. I was driving so I wanted to know how much the parking was going to me. Online it was mentioned that the Hyatt offered valet for 30 dollars a day. In doing some research I found that there was a city parking lot just half a block away and their daily max was 16 dollars for 24 hours. I figured that would be a better deal considering I wasn't going to drive at all in the city until we were leaving. While the official check in time is 4pm, we came straight from Jacksonville which is about a 2 hour drive so I parked at the front to see if it was possible for an earlier check in around noon time. At first there wasn't a room ready so I had given my cell number for an update and while I was in the hotel I received the call that the room was ready so we didn't have to leave and was able to check in just around noon time. I had booked through Expedia and with that I was able to select the room type and bed type. I had chosen a river view with king bed and the room was great. Since the hotel had a river view, the room was at the north part of the building across River Street. The room was surprisingly spacious, had a fridge close to the bathroom with a large Smart TV which had the capability of Netflix, Youtube, etc being that it was network connected. The room was quite comfortable and the hotel itself had a more modern look inside as well as being a large open atrium type structure with rooms facing the atrium as well as rooms facing outward. As far as big hotel chains go, Hyatt has a good reputation for being a nice place to stay. This particular Hyatt hotel in my opinion lives up to that. Pros and Cons: First, the pros, which are many. We recently stayed 3 nights. The Hyatt is situated on the Savannah River, and we had a king size, river view room. I wouldn't have it any other way. The views were spectacular! My husband and I were glued to the windows watching the barges traverse up and down the river at all hours of the day and night. Riverwalk, below, is a fantastic place for shops and food. The hotel was extremely clean. We dined at the hotel restaurant and the waitstaff were amazing. They were kind, considerate, always smiling, and just a pleasure! We felt safe, with most folks being masked. We took advantage of the valet parking, albeit it $38 per night, but when we saw the parking garage a bit cheaper off property and up a block or two, it was well worth the extra money to valet park. The valet staff were awesome! We never waited for our vehicle. Be sure to tip them well because they deserve it! The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft. Now for the cons: 1. Upon arrival to our room, there was a very soiled mask on the floor. Cleaning staff should have seen this. 2. Then, I had to visit the front desk a COUPLE of times because our toilet was flushing very slow and sometimes not flushing at all. I called them on the phone a couple of times. It took until 8 p.m. for a gentleman to come up and plunge it. This was very irritating because we were enjoying the downtown history area, taking walking tours, and constantly returning to our room. But we couldn't use the toilet! I feel that a whole day without a toilet is not acceptable. read more

It's 10 o'clock at night and now my husband and I have to find somewhere else to stay. Most likely won't be trying to stay here again. The valet staff was very nice. It also appeared that my first room was partially serviced with dry spills on the table and trash in the bathroom. The lamp shade was very dusty and cracked and the ceiling was cracked with what appeared to be paint handing from the ceiling. The lobby and restaurant were great. Came for a girls weekend and had 3 rooms for 3 families. Staff was great with early check in. We get into one of rooms and it was absolutely disgusting. Blood on the blinds, no shower curtain, dust everywhere. Just filthy. The housekeeping manager was wonderful and switched our room immediately when they were at full capacity. Second room was still dirty but a lot better. Stains on the lamp (pictured), tub drain was clogged with hair in it as well as a live bug that popped up while i was showering. For $250 a night it was more like a $75 motel 6. The positives: the location was perfect. Couldn't have had better. All the staff was super sweet and helpful. The terrace overlooking the river was beautiful however definitely not worth the price point. read more

I stayed over the weekend and stayed in a room with a balcony terrace. Came here for a get away from the city. It was very clean facility. You had to be masked to enter and there was a limit of 4 people in the elevators. There was also plenty of sanitizer around. What I liked about this location is that next door there's an elevator that goes down to River Street where there were plenty of restaurants and touristy things. read more

Got very little sleep, which stinks because that is one of the perks of being out of town away from kids. I am here for a conference and the food selections did not cater to my eating style.
