I've stayed at Hyatts a handful of times all over and they all share a common theme- spend the budget on the lobby with the leftovers going to the rooms. When you walk in the lobby is beautiful. There is a restaurant on site and a grab and go quick snack station. Theres a common area w couches and TVs to enjoy company with a nice view of the river. The further up you go you will find different terraces, all with a nice view of the city and a gym/pool area upstairs. Once we got to our rooms it was different, the beds aren't comfortable with what felt like a bed sheet as a blanket along with the actual sheet on the bed. You either get a view of the outside or a view of the lobby. I had a view of the lobby and in the evening if there are people out there it's very loud even if you have the blinds and windows shut. The one thing we did enjoy was the breakfast and coffee in the morning! The ladies in the kitchen area were super nice and friendly every morning! read more

Made reservations at the hotel restaurant, made the reservation with the restaurant directly 2 days before at 6:30 for Valentines Day. When we get to the restaurant Surprise NO RESERVATIONS. Spoke to front desk they went back to the restaurant did not have the decency to see if she could do anything sent the same idiot that was at the front of the restaurant to tell me the same thing he had told me five minutes before. We drove here from Florida 3 hours to spend Valentines Day here and dinner. Restaurant looks like a starbucks Nothing like the photos on the website, The dinner menu horrible. Now we are driving the Hilton Head 1 hour north to have dinner at 9:30. I Work with flight crew housing department and I will make sure our crews learn of the experience here. read more

We drove from Atlanta and if we didn't have a best room in the house overlooking the water way, shops, pubs, hotels along the old cobblestones! We were in town for St. Patrick's festivities and could see the revelry below and tankers cruising by on the waterway. Easy to walkabout for food and festivities. Valet parking only; but if you can score street parking, you'll save a ton! That's what we did. Quick check in and check out. USB ports in the room, lobby and bar, so convenient. Decent breakfast options and warm service. If ever you want to take in the city for whatever the occasion, Hyatt Regency Savannah, y'all come check it! =D read more

It feels like this was once a really amazing hotel. Now, it's still nice but could use some upgrades. The staff were amazing and kind and always available. My mattress was definitely very old. My back and neck hurt every morning. I switched to my daughter's bed in her room and it was far more comfortable. The breakfast buffet, for me, was so over priced. I mean with so many local spots - why would anyone pay those exaggerated prices? The garden deck was a mess. Not a place I was comfortable relaxing. The pool is very underwhelming. With a place that can experience rain on a fine, they need a better pool. read more

He gave me to an amazing room with a great view and made the entire check-in process stress-free. Friendly welcoming, and truly outstanding service. Stayed here for a few days over the holidays, this hotel used to be the only place to stay while in town. There are a lot of newer hotels on the waterfront but none have the stop on the water this one does. A premium location, in the middle of it all on the riverfront and amazing views of the river, town and the area. Valet service, with porters makes checking in and out much less stressful. The front desk staff are all professional and kind. Check in was simple and straightforward. Coffee service every morning by the front desk. The room, a king room on the fourth floor, the terrace floor. If you are staying in this hotel you want the fourth floor. Our room overlooked the park, and we were just a few doors down thw corner from the terrace entry. The room was very comfortable and the bed was too. We enjoyed breakfast two mornings at the hotel. The good about this hotel and we have stayed here several times is when you get a room facing the river it's great to watch the freighters and various ships go by in fact that's the only reason we choose this hotel. Our first day we had a leak in the bathroom from the ceiling and even though it was reported no one ever came in did anything about it so we always had to leave a towel on the floor otherwise it would be a puddle This time, of course we are there during the cooler months and had to use the heat. Woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning and my head was spinning had to open the patio door to get some fresh air and not sure if it was related to the heat or what it was , but I've never woke up this way before except the one night we had to turn the heat on. For a Hyatt hotel, the rooms definitely need to be modernized for the price they charge by the time you pay for your room pay for valet parking. Pay for tips for valet parking and everything else the cost add up quickly. This is a dog friendly hotel, and I saw no issues in regards to people and dogs so that was a plus Well, we stay here again most likely we will because of the views but up to three times we've been here. I would say this time has probably been the worst experience of all of them. read more

I stayed here for two nights during my trip to Savannah. Check in was super simple and the front desk assistant was super nice. We were offered complementary cocktails at check in. I stayed in a room that had a queen size bed with an area for sitting under a desk. Each room is equipped with complimentary lotion, shampoo and conditioner. All rooms are also equipped with a small mini fridge and an iron. A microwave can be located in the lobby. There's a restaurant downstairs that I had the privilege to eat at and it was super delicious. They stay open until 11 PM. There's also a bar. This hotel is located across the street from pretty good restaurants and walking distance from the strip. The lobby has great views of river. read more

There is public parking across the street for $25 per day. It is a very convenient location. The river walk is right outside of the hotel, with a nice sunset view of the bridge, many restaurants, and bars. The lobby of the Marriott with dinosaur and mineral exhibition is worth checking out. We did not eat at the Hyatt 's restaurants. We had dinner at the Olde Pink house and brunch at Vic's on the river (see my reviews for these). The suite has a big king bed with comfy bedding and a pullout sofa bed, 2 big flat screen TVs with netflix. Overall, it is a nice hotel to stay in the area. Good thing about this hotel is it is next to the river. Don't need to cross the street to get to the riverside. However, the room I was assigned to does not go below 70°F. A/C been on the whole time and I think the coldest I could remember was 72 around 4am. It stays 75 throughout the day. Also, NO MICROWAVE in the rooms. Not sure why but it just doesn't exist in the rooms. Valet parking is not worth it. I would say do a self park instead. Parking is just across the street anyway. read more

I did not stay here; reviewing as an event space. The main atrium is quite pretty, and on the bottom level a lounge overlooks the river. There are some great views to be had of passing boats. Some conference rooms offer similar views. The event room was spacious and there weren't a ton of technical issues for the complex meeting I was there for. I also noted plenty of clean bathroom stalls that were nice and private for changing in and out of business wear. I lost a hat and it was recovered and found for me (and it's a good hat). So a pretty solid venue from my perspective. Looked like a nice place to stay if you can pay for it. read more

I was able to check-in early, and although the room had two smaller beds instead of the king sized bed I wanted, that was the cost I was willing to pay to check in early. The room was modern and clean with a large screen TV that had Netflix. There was no microwave in the room, but there was one in the ice machine room. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I was able to get a good meal at the hotel bar while watching the Eagles game. There is no free breakfast or club lounge at this Hyatt, and no Chromecast. But I would definitely stay again the next time I'm in savannah. read more

Disappointed and Surprised by the Condition - Not What I Expected from a Hyatt After a nearly 10-hour drive with two small children, we arrived at this 4-star hotel expecting a comfortable and clean stay but were immediately disappointed. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, the tub was visibly dirty and didn't drain at all. We were so exhausted we didn't call the concierge, but ended up placing a towel in the tub just to take quick showers without standing in dirty water. The tissue box had only two tissues left and was never replaced, parts of the carpet were wet, and both sofas in the room were stained and clearly not cleaned. With Hyatt's reputation and so many positive reviews on Expedia, I expected much more. This stay fell far below even basic expectations. Additionally, there is no self-parking on the property. The only options were valet for $50 or parking in a public garage across the street that isn't owned by the hotel. This is definitely the last time we stay at this hotel chain. The hotel is nice, especially the expansive lobby. But the fees add up quickly. When we arrived we asked how much valet was and response was "Expensive". Asked again, and price was $48 per night. We ended up using the valet since we had a baby in tow. When we checked in, we found there was a resort amenity fee that tacked on to the cost. We had no other option so got up to our room. They put us next to the ice machine and community microwave. Not an issue initially but with a baby we quickly figured out the sound proofing was not optimal. Someone made popcorn every night we stayed at the hotel at 9 pm right as we were going to bed and the smell creeped into our room due to a half inch gap from the floor to the door. The room was decent. I didn't feel comfortable walking around barefoot so would recommend packing flip flops. Then, there was no barrier from the shower to bathroom floor so water easily splashes on the floor. The location of this hotel was great and the views are amazing. On the plus side our doggie was greeted with a goodie bag upon arrival so this review is mixed, not all bad but definitely some room for improvement. I figured out on day 2 of stay that you can park literally a block away for $20 a night. It's self park in a garage with about a thousand spaces near Ellis Square. Try it out if you are comfortable saving money and not worried about your car getting vandalized or broken into. read more

Four night stay at the Hyatt Regency Savannah. Loved the location in Historic Downtown Savannah Front entrance is on Bay St that leads you to numerous restaurants, bars, music, art, & plenty shopping & the Savannah River Boat "Georgia Queen" (located on River St.) Hotel has an elevator that takes right down to River Street. No need for a car or ride-share everything is within a short walking distance. Hotel Staff Outstanding! Rooms are specious - we had a river view room 6th floor very cool. You can see the large container ships moving up the river to the port - it's an interesting site. Had excellent service with the front desk & restaurant - bartenders super friendly, but they were over worked at times (Happy Hour) They offer a complimentary glass of Wine/Beer daily (with a ticket) from 4pm till 6pm. Rooms are comfortable & up to date. Frig, coffee maker (Keurig), safe Daily 2 bottles of Complimentary waters. Only issue was that room service was inconsistent at times, they didn't provide sugars/creamers for coffee as well as replenishing the complementary daily water on a regular basis (as it's a part of your room package) One day we didn't even get Housekeeping Services - had to hunt down a housekeeper working on our floor in order to get towels, etc. If I was coming to Savannah again, I would stay here because of its location and the staff was very professional- the front desk is exceptional, every staff member was excellent. The location of this hotel is fantastic, can't get much better than being on River Street. The service was also wonderful for our stay. However, I am very disappointed with the condition of the room upon arrival. The tile floors were sticky, there was a mildew odor, and the carpets were old and yes vacuumed but packed down from so much wear over the years. The room had not been properly cleaned, as there was a leftover cup from a previous guest. The sheets were stained (though they were replaced when I asked), the shower had visible mold, the shower curtain had been ripped and not replaced, and there was an unidentified brown splatter on the bathroom wall next to the toilet. I am very disappointed as the photos online make this look much nicer than what we received upon arrival. read more

My husband and I drove out to Savannah from Atlanta for my birthday weekend. We drove a long distance with our baby but we were excited about the trip. When we got to the hotel and went to the front desk we were immediately told that are room was not available and that our reservation was going to be refunded. Mind you this was at 7/8pm on a Friday night. We were confused as to why our room wasn't available. The woman was obviously having a bad day and was rude and defensive towards us off the back. When we asked to speak to management if we could simply changes rooms because we were traveling with a baby and all. She proceeded to yell at my husband and even say inappropriate things about physically attacking my husband. "I am going to beat his ass" to be exact. Her coworker even came over to talk her down. The woman who was unable to act like a grown adult was a woman with a shave head and black thick glasses. Overall would advise against this hotel. You would think you were at a motel the way it is being run. Customer service was horrible. The parking arrangements are a scam they charge hundreds of dollars during your stay when there's free public parking available which isn't disclosed. management is disorganized. read more

Don't stay here. The rooms are so dirty, with literal layers of dust caked in the corners and sides of the carpet and behind the television, and with mold all in the showers. Then there's the inedible grab and go food, and rude service at their restaurant, not to mention overpriced food that isn't good there either. Oh and who can forget the valet service that scratched the paint off my brand new car's hood (how???). They never fixed it either as they said they would during my weeklong stay, nor did they return my calls about it later, nor did the hotel take responsibility for the matter, stating the valet they forced me to use for parking while staying as a hotel guest was a third party. There were also drunk and belligerent hotel guests that were so loud that they woke up and frightened my child, as someone was threatening to kill someone else, all of which could be heard through the wall clear as day at 3:00 AM. So, I'm not sure about the kind of clientele they attract, but definitely not what I was expecting. The gym was old with equipment literally falling apart when someone touched some of the weight equipment. read more

The price is good, but amazingly, they don't offer guest parking. One night is $100 for the room, and parking only valet and it is $50 per night. Very rarely I see hotels without parking for the guests, especially at this high cost. Across the street, private parking is $23 per night or if you can free street parking from 8pm to 8am. My room does not include breakfast, but with 2 bottles of water in the room. The lobby noise can come to the room, which is not too good. And around 9am, I can hear door knocking outside on other rooms from room cleaning service, they are working hard. Overall, this is a nice spot without nice offerings. That is how I feel. read more

We came to town for a board meeting for two nights. You can either valet your car and drive it yourself to a parking garage in the area. We chose to valet it. The young lady that was the valet was very friendly and a great person to be greeting their guests. Michael came out with a cart to hold our luggage for us until our room was ready. Fortunately the lobby is very comfortable and there were great places to sit and wait. After 2 plus hours, Michael walked over and wanted to verify the name on our reservation because he noticed we had been waiting a very long time. Kudos to him for being so on top of things. He went to check on what was taking so long. When he came back he said there had been a mix up and someone had given our expected room to another guest. Ugh. Had Michael not been paying attention, who knows how long we would have been waiting. The good news was that because of our inconvenience they had changed our room from one facing the atrium to a river facing room with a balcony. I so appreciate Michael going above and beyond. Our room was very comfortable with beautiful decor. The bed was also comfortable. I would stay here again. read more

Hyatt Regency Tiqulia is the reason why I gave this place a 3 Star, otherwise they would have a five. Maybe a four because our air conditioner in our room didn't work. I am very blessed to have met these people, Marlana, Mary, Kyle (maintenance) Tuana, Antoinnette, Kara and Trisha and Mike really made our stay here great. And I cannot forget Elisa, he who was our room keeper. He was super friendly. Our room was great, nice and roomy with a view of the river. The breakfast buffet was incredible. Everybody working in the restaurant were fabulous. -------- Now this is the part that upset me. I called to let them know I was coming in this evening (7/8) and we are very excited to be staying with them. I introduced myself, and when I asked the ladies name, she wouldn't give it to me. Her tone was very rude and condescending, since I had no name, I couldn't refer to her by name so it wasn't a great conversation. I hung up to call back. When I called back, I got her again, once again, I asked for her name because I said I wanted to introduce myself, and people usually reply back with their name, and say something like it's nice to meet you. But she insisted, wanting to know, basically why I cared to find out your name and once again, I explained, I wanted to introduce myself because we were coming in to stay so I asked again, and again, and finally I found out that her name was Tiquila (?). I also explained to her, that the reason that I asked for her name, is because I like to write reviews and I take notes. Once again, her tone and attitude totally put me off, and I decided there was no reason to allow her to upset my day! Maybe she needs to take a class on how to interact with customers. This may be a Hyatt but the quality was below Hyatt standards. Lobby looked fresh but the rooms are way over due for being refurbished. Headboards looked dirty and sheets were torn. Some of the bath towels were nice while others could be used for rags. The food provided at the conference that I attended was poor quality. read more

I just stayed at this hotel, and it was my first time in Savannah. What a disappointment from this hotel and their staff on my 58th birthday. I checked in at 3pm. on Friday. Was told my room was not ready but would be ready guaranteed by 4pm because housekeeping was running behind. At 530pm my room was still not ready, after a argument with management, the room became available. Opened the door and looked around, the room was dirty and had to send housekeeping back to do there job. Housekeeping clearly was mad because the next day they totally skipped my room, at 6pm we took sheets and towels off of a cart for our room and we had to clean our own room. The next day the very same thing happened again. Take a look at the photos where sheets, towels, and garbage was piling up in our room for three days. We stayed here for a conference decades ago. It was nice to revisit. The location is great with about half the rooms facing the Savannah River. From the main entrance, it's an easy walk to restaurants, parks, and tourist sites. The hotels could use some capital improvements. read more

To be honest, the hotel was pretty dated. The rooms are kind of small and parking at $50 is pretty crap. I will say the staff is redeeming even though the attached restaurant is trash. Convenient to River Street, sucks when getting the valet parking. They literally will get your car when they feel like it. read more

This hotel just barely gets 3 stars for me, but that is only because THE HOTEL STAFF IS EXCELLENT ACROSS THE BOARD. Front desk, housekeeping, servers --- all great. This is the saving grace of this hotel Oh, and the location is fantastic. Right on the river, in the middle of things, in the historic district. The rest is not so great... This hotel is old -- almost 50 years old -- and it shows. The design is very dated, and the rooms are dated. Be careful with getting an "atrium view" room. Even with a good one, there is very little natural light, and they are noisy. The first one they tried to give me (room 365) had a "view" only of a dark, low-ceiling elevator lobby. The room was too depressing to stay in -- like a very poorly lit inside cabin on a bad cruise ship. Ugh. Of course, the rooms are dark to start with. The walls are dark, the furniture is dark, and the lighting is old-fashioned table lamps. I couldn't stay here without an outside window or I'd risk seasonal affective disorder. The "old" theme continues throughout the room. The shower is tub-style. The toilet takes up most of the room in the small, single sink bathroom. The bathroom space is not functional for a modern hotel. There is a closet with no light, so you need to use your phone flashlight to see anything. The TV is small. The furniture is beaten and scratched and...old. There are not enough electrical plugs and the wall plugs they have all festooned with an octopus of plugs for lamps and clocks, etc. Oh, and we also didn't wind up with the bed choice that we wanted. That might be because we were here on a "conference" rate, so we just get whatever they have, and not what we requested. Be careful of that. This hotel has potential, but I think it is really held back by the dated structure. Even a full renno won't fix a lot of the issues, which seem baked into this dated design. I think there are better options in the historic district unless you are a die hard Hyatt fan. However, if you come, get a city view or river view room. The location of this place is perfect. It's walking distance to all the major landmarks around downtown Savannah. The hotel practices safe social distancing and requires patrons to wear masks when inside the hotel. Room service is not available but you can order take-out from the restaurant. Uber Eats also delivers here from a large number of restaurants too. We stayed in a king room with a balcony and garden terrace view. It was absolutely perfect! The views were beautiful during the day and night! Since we were not going to any bars due to COVID-19, it was really nice to sit out on our balcony at night with a glass of wine and see and hear the patrons at the rooftop bars next door. We felt like we had our own VIP area! The room itself was very spacious for the 2 of us. The bed and pillows were comfy. The bathroom was clean and everything looked new and modern. The TV had cable and Netflix which was nice on the nights we decided to stay in and relax. The Pinpoint Heritage Museum and Wormsloe Historic site are both only 20 minutes away by car so again this location was perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah for the first time since it is close to everything. read more

A decent hotel in the historic district of Savannah, just a few steps away from River Street and the Savannah River. Depending on how much you want to pay, you can get a river view room or an "inner" room (views of the hotel lobby). Since we didn't care about having a river view as we won't be spending time in the room only just to sleep and get ready before our fun activities for the day, we paid for an inner room. For a hotel where you pay a bit more, I'd expect towels to be a bit better than the subpar ones you'd find in a motel. But the fridge was stocked with several free, one liter bottles of water for us and free in room coffee with plenty of k cups, so that's a plus. The balcony is accessible from the 4th floor and you need to have an active hotel key card to access it. The seats are nice and funky, and there are plenty of tables if you want to order from multiple places within the vicinity and enjoy your meal here. The views of River St and the Savannah a river from here was perfect. There is a restaurant attached to the lobby of the hotel, but we didn't try it. Overall a nice hotel to stay at when visiting Savannah. read more

The location of this hotel can't be beat. There is valet parking per night for a fee (no self parking), but we found a good street spot so went with that. The hotel is huge and is right on the river. There is an exit on the backside that takes you to the boardwalk along the river. Check-in was easy and we were able to get a late check-out. The atrium is huge and offers great views, along with the terrace and roof top, that was closed when we were there. The room was a good size and had a fridge. We had a small balcony that overlooked the atrium on the inside of the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the stay did its purpose. Only downsides are it can feel a bit dated, and the glass elevators were often backed up. Also, I wish the other set of elevators wasn't the only way down to the pool and gym.
