Jokes aside (half joking), this is an awesome local Inn with a ton of history. It's family-owned and in business since the 70's.. how cool is that?! Their Marco Polo bar is quite nifty too. It gives major speakeasy vibes and offers a great happy hour Tues to Thurs. The bartender was telling me about their BFF Night Package and staycation packages too. I think you get a deal on the hotel room plus welcome drinks and some apps. I'm not an expert on the deets so be sure to ask about them if curious. All in a all, a really convenient and interesting place right in the heart of Great Neck, one block away from all the hustle, so the street parking is actually quite available normally. The valet kept trying to get me to pay him again after I had already charged the fee to my room. Kind of silly since my car was parked five feet from the hotel entrance. It doesn't help that there was little tp left in the bathroom upon arrival, and when I went to the front desk for an roll, I had to repeatedly ask if I could get a tp a dozen times. My other observation is that the level of friendliness (or the lack thereof) varied dramatically based on who was on shift. When I called initially, the day time guy told me they have a jacuzzi room which is quite "popular," so I figured why not. He told me it was occupied and he didn't know when the people occupying it would vacate. Hence why I called a dozen times in hope that it would. He took down my information to book another room just in case this one would pan out. After calling the day of, he notified me that it was not be vacant and I would have to go with the other room, which was fine by me. I confirmed with him that he took my reservation down. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to making plans, so I called an hour ahead of arrival to check on my room and there was another person answering the call. He told me not to worry, the place would have my room ready for me. Once I got there, the same man behind the counter, disgustingly rude and obnoxious man might I add, denies me a room. Why? No clue. He claims there is no reservation and starts giving me a enormous attitude when I told him a called a dozen times and spoke to both him and the other person on the phone to make sure there was something available. I asked him why he was being so rude and why he refused to give me a room and he claimed he was all booked and there was not one room available.. Which was complete horse manure, since as I sat pissed off in the parking lot, i watched two couples walk inside and be given a room.
