So, long story short, to stay off the streets at 10pm, we had to fit three people on a bed where one of us wasn't comfortable snuggling up against us - horrible three nights of sleep. Service was tremendously bad considering this was their fault. They didn't even give us a room with the NYC skyline. So eff this place, do not book. It's on the outskirts of Flushing anyways, the lobby is small - you're MUCH better off at the Sheraton.

I'm sure this hotel is equally fabulous in the warmer months but I highly recommend it for the fall/winter season.

She listened and told me she wanted me to return and the Lowell Hotel would want me to be happy. I explained I had no expectations and would not return. I had posted on YELP the same, the night before. Upon leaving the hotel, a manager raced after me and said he had read the YELP review and wanted to make it right. I thanked him but explained I had no expectations. And I didn't. Moments ago, the Lowell Hotel credited my Amex for both nights. I am stunned. This is very much appreciated. The Lowell management heard my concerns, investigated, and agreed that the experience was not a 5 star experience. I am very grateful for their response and look forward to visiting again. We checked in at 3 pm The room was nice and spacious with a microwave,fridge. The bathroom was a shower it was a nice size the water was amazingly hot we love that. The iron in the other hand had a big red stain and we didn't want to ruin our clothes so we didn't use it. And ur was four of us we only had 3 towels in the room. There is also outside seating and in the main area breakfast was amazing. Eggs, pancakes waffle maker bagels were soft and fresh. Just available, coffee and tea . fruits , muffins and a fridge with milk and yogurt. We had to sit outside it was crowded but the breeze was wonderful . The star of the show the indoor pool they we've. have an area to sit and i guess for people that smoke to take a break. it's open from 8am-10pm. What I did notice the 3 hours we were there not one person came into the pool area . I mean great for us nobody bothered us. But there is a sign nobody under 18 allowed alone and there was two kids wast under 18 hanging out and even using stuff from the pool that said DO NOT USE. anyway we would definitely stay agai.

The bed had plush pillows and was very comfortable. The shower was relatively large with a choice between a rain style shower head or a spray head. Bathroom counter had enough room to put your toiletries and makeup. They have a nespresso machine and a kettle for tea. They also have a stocked mini bar, and you can grab free bottled water and candy from the lobby. We ordered room service ordered from the restaurant below twice and they always did a nice job bringing in the food and also set it up beautifully with a red rose. The food was quite delicious but unfortunately not as good as when we actually ate in the restaurant as the temperature is not as good bc of the delivery time. Housekeeping carts blocked every portion of the walkway and my group and I literally had to pus Carts down the hallway in order to get to our rooms with our luggage. That's not cool. But Douglas is a wealth of knowledge and gives you all the information on discounts at restaurants. And the rooms are actually cute and comfortable. I had one roller blackout shade that didn't works so couldn't access me of the room brows. But it was okay as I had a 2nd window. I like their little joints to the airlines. It's cute; especially the Pan Am door symbols.

I took trains to reach the hotel, which added time, but avoided parking fees and traffic. I appreciated the low cost of the hotel and service, but all the more the ability to be situated in a location surrounded by authentic Asian (mostly Chinese) restaurants at far lower prices than Manhattan. I enjoyed exploring two, and made note of others in the future. I could see spending a weekend here with husband just for the Chinese restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores! Breakfast is included and served in a glass enclosed dining room. Although Western options are offered, I appreciated the Congee with traditional toppings and a variety of filled steamed buns as part of the Asiatic Hotel experience. In the end this was a far more fun and flexible experience than taking a longer and potentially winter weather-impacted indirect flight to my destination.
