I love walking in through here to grab sushi at their hidden Benny's Sushi inside. They've got a nice sized chess board as soon as you enter, which is begging to be played. I got my first win on it the other day so if there is anyone reading this that wants to challenge me in a game of chess at the Inn at Great Neck, slide into my DM's! Jokes aside (half joking), this is an awesome local Inn with a ton of history. It's family-owned and in business since the 70's.. how cool is that?! Their Marco Polo bar is quite nifty too. It gives major speakeasy vibes and offers a great happy hour Tues to Thurs. The bartender was telling me about their BFF Night Package and staycation packages too. I think you get a deal on the hotel room plus welcome drinks and some apps. I'm not an expert on the deets so be sure to ask about them if curious. All in a all, a really convenient and interesting place right in the heart of Great Neck, one block away from all the hustle, so the street parking is actually quite available normally. We stayed at this hotel over Thanksgiving because we have family who live in Great Neck. It is an ideal location within walking distance of many restaurants and stores, as well as the train station. The lobby is nicely decorated and has a bar. There is also a restaurant that serves complimentary breakfast. The hotel has five floors and our room was very spacious. It had two full size beds, a leather sitting chair, a desk, and a little kitchenette. The bathroom also had a large counter for holding all of our toiletries. The shower had good water pressure and hot water. Overall, a good experience. read more

I went to this hotel to get ready and dressed for my wedding. When we pulled up they only offer valet or street parking. We had so much stuff I decided to do valet. The valet was $20 a night and we had mixed service with the valet. Some attendants were quick and fast and others were very slow. The hotel lobby was beautiful with the 20's decor. We were in room 515 and it was big and spacious. The decor in the room was beautiful as well which looked good for photos. The issues with place includes the plumbing which was terrible. The toilet was so slow and the sink was so slow as well. We kept calling maintenance to come check the plumbing but they didn't fix it. However, the bar was very good and the rooms were big and spacious. The manager tried her best to fix the situation with our toilet and slow valet by giving us a discount. This is a best western property and they try to charge four seasons prices lol. feel free to check it out yourself if you want a small hotel with a classy feel. Wow, walking in was like a dream! Valet attendant right at the curb waiting to serve. Beautiful Art deco design elements and very reminiscent of the Gatsby days. A beautiful "inn" that's run just like a boutique hotel. That's the word to describe it - Boutique. A lovely night out had by all. We chose this destination for a local girls night out retreat. It's a few minutes from the LIRR and it's rates are not astronomical. Our check in for one night included a lovely all you can eat, self serve breakfast with very generous hours - 6am-11am (never seen it that long before). The lobby always had coffee and water throughout the day. There's even a bar counter if you walk straight towards the back. Could make for a nice stop if you find yourself dining in the lobby restaurant, Marco Polo's, an Asian Fusion menu. Someone was hosting a lovely surprise birthday when I arrived. It was nice to see the crowd of people so lively and the ballroom all set up. The Grand lobby was warm and beautifully decorated for the holidays. A huge tree with lights staged by the cafe style bistro tables. A very cozy atmosphere. All that was missing was music. Perhaps I didn't notice given the TV's were on at the bar. Onto the accommodations: spacious double beds adorned with celestial themed pictures. A very calming blue theme both on the walls and carpet. The hallway was the same I might add -- simplistic blue and gold lines throughout with mirrors and more art deco design. In the room, a nice foyer area to plop your drinks and to use as a misc snack table. There was an office desk and two chairs for the room. A mini refrigerator to put drinks in was disguised as a low dresser which contained three drawers for your clothing. The best part - hangers provided in the closet, a luggage rack, and a complimentary cotton robe. (I just wished there were more than 2 hangers). Bathroom accessories were provided, facial tissues, body soap in dispensers, shower cap and q-tips. Even plastic cups were provided in sealed wrappers. Nice. I am a simple creature with minimal asks and this room provided everything as needed - not more or less. It was fine. For those looking for a more luxurious suite, I caught a glimpse of one while staff was cleaning. If there's something you need, just ask the front desk. I did the same and was met with a smile. Totally would recommend this place for all the conveniences of location, service and accommodations. I did give it 5 stars because it was my first visit and I didn't get to fully explore the place - but I hear there's a gym somewhere. read more

I have stayed at Motel 6s' that were in better condition than the 2 rooms I was given at the not so Great Neck Inn. Room 1 had a sink that wouldn't drain and had a broken bathroom door. Room 2 refrigerator didnt work. Had bulge on the bathroom ceiling that seemed ready to open up. Wallpaper peeling off the wall. Paint chips falling from the ceiling. Something removed from the bathroom wall and not patched. I'm pretty sure management would not have put their family in these 2 rooms. read more

First, Jennifer and Gabriella- are truly amazing!!! Very accommodating to me and my entire family who stayed at the hotel for my wedding from 4/25-4/27/25! We blocked almost 20 rooms, and every room was fulfilled without any hesitation!!! I'm absolutely so grateful of the ENTIRE staff hospitality. They went above and beyond for us. They even set up a high make up chair and a full-length mirror in my suite! I was pleased with the service from the valet to the front desk. The room was spacious and suited. My suite and my husband's (fiancé at that time) room were amazing and so comfortable. Again, THANK YOU INN AT GREAT NECK! Upon sitting down the tables are uneven, they make alot of food for the amount of people they have to serve but the options are real short. The menu says "Everything comes with potatoes" but my french toast did not. Food took long to come even though i came when they started cooking, I only ordered the french toast with side sausage and a croissant. The food came out really nice tho! I was a little unhappy with the front desk service but luckily the managers made up for it. I had some issues checking in and the front desk clerk, either deliberately tried to stick it to me or was so dumb. He should not be working there. Luckily a manager came to the rescue. Then after I checked out, they billed me twice and it took me a couple of phone calls and emails to get that straightened out. They did eventually fix everything so I will give them three stars, but that front desk is so important. read more

We got 3 rooms here for 2 nights because we had to come up here for a funeral. 1. Some rooms are Next to a Train so enjoy that... nowhere does it tell you that or give you a heads up online in any review. 2. Some room doors don't lock and need a physical key , and electronic key. 3. Issues constantly with electronic room keys. 4. Entire hotel is outdated. Feels like it was built in 1975 and never updated... very weird. 5. There's a running water sound in some rooms. 6. If you plan on being loud in your room with a gf or wife...everyone's going to hear you, the walls are paper thin like a house. 7. There's absolutely nowhere to park, unless you want to drive a few blocks away and park your car at a meter oh and valet parking is 60$ extra per night. That being said... the people that work here are nice I guess and the burger and fries I had at the bar were fine. Whoever's giving this hotel a 4.5 rating is out of their mind or still living in 1975. I was recommended this place by my mothers friend. I will be leaving a second review as I got in late last night. So far I am superbly impressed. Not only is the area quality my with so many sites within walking distance, but there is a serenity. The lobby is inviting, and my room is huge and amazing. Adequately stocked with coffee, complimentary water, a keurig, mini fridge, microwave. I chose the standard double bed. I have an Alexa which made connecting to the free WiFi simple. I have a chromecast tv which allowed me to connect to it with my android and stream my apps and services directly to the tv. Although with the variety of programming it was not necessary. I have two phones, one on an eloquent desk, with a super comfy chair. The room also comes with a comfy sofa chair. The lighting is everything, The decor is simple and comforting, everything blends together. The shower and bath tub are amazing offering ample room. Never have I seen such a huge bathroom in a non Hilton establishment. This will forever be my only stay when visiting NY. I wish I had woken up early enough to experience the complimentary breakfast but the 3 hour time difference did not allow. Lol. Just another reason to visit again. Tonight I will attempt to experience the bar and restaurant located in the hotel. Maybe a workout before bed at the gym. Thank you all so much. Please excuse the noise in the background. This hotel is very outdated. It looks like they only had enough money to update the bedrooms, but the kitchenettes and bathrooms look like they're from the 80s. We had to switch rooms twice. The first room smelled like cigarettes and the toilet in the second room wouldn't stop running. The toilet in the third room could barely get toilet paper down but we didn't switch again because it was after midnight. The paint on the ceiling was peeling and the Keurig machine was filthy. This place was not worth $270 for 1 night. And valet is $20. Luckily the staff is very nice, but I would never stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. (Psst, it's a Best Western. I booked Inn at Great Neck 3-4 months in advance for a wedding. They called me TWO days before my stay to let me know that they overbooked and that I would be transferred to their sister hotel, Adria Hotel and Conference. They would not give a discount or any concession for the inconvenience. This would have been fine if it was the same quality of hotel but the Adria is a 3 star and the Inn at Great Neck is a 4 star. The price difference was only about $10 a night between the two. Immediately I went online to look at the reviews for Adria and saw they were terrible. I thought "okay, maybe it's not that bad, also it's too late to book another hotel or Airbnb because it's two days before." Boy was I wrong! Checked in at the Adria and immediately found many dirty stains and issues in need of repair in the room. The room felt unsanitary. The towels we got had stains and hair all over them and when I asked for more, all of the "new" ones they gave also had stains on them. But there was nothing I could do as it was a weekend and all the other nicer hotels in the area were booked or charged 300+ a night. I'm disappointed that Inn at Great Neck moved my reservation to a lesser hotel only two days before. Had I gotten advance notice of this, I would immediately have booked somewhere else as the Adria was shabby and filthy. I will say, despite the room conditions, the staff at Adria were very kind and helpful. read more

After reading the yelp reviews, which I did after booking my one night reservation, I had serious second thoughts about staying here. So much so, that I sent a message over the yelp app asking management if the comments made about them were accurate. More about that. Bottom line, for what it is, it was a good property and met my needs. Not a luxurious problem. Not a stylish property. It was a Best Western with standard hotel furniture. It was not a 5 star boutique property that I am accustomed to staying at. The king sized room was clean. The bedding was firm. The carpeting appeared clean and the furniture was spotless and shining. The bathroom was clean, there were plenty of towels and high quality bath accessories. There was a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. One bottle of complimentary water. My request for ice was answered promptly. My concern about the HVAC system - there was no heat - was resolved in a creative way. A good quality space heater was bright to the room within 5 minutes. (note: it was mid May when it should have been much warmer. It wasn't. It was 46 degrees and pouring rain. And the HVAC system had already been converted to summer use - no heat - all cooling. But what was important was the manager quickly responded by explaining why the heat did not come on and provided a solution. And that's what mattered. So if you need a place to stay for a business meeting in the area or you're visiting relatives in the area this will do just fine. It was not cheap. $200 with all taxes for a standard king. Food service at the on-site Reataurant reviewed separately. Note: it is in the center of Great Neck, a block from the LIRR station. A SBUX is a block away and a bakery is directly across the street. read more

If you plan on getting married and are considering having your bridal party stay here, LOOK ELSEWHERE. When I arrived, the coffee machine was broken, and I knew we'd like some coffee in the morning, so I asked for help. The hotel sent a staff member who only understood Spanish to my room. I tried telling him what was happening, but we didn't understand each other because of the language barrier. Well, needless to say, we didn't get to have any coffee. When we left for the wedding, apparently, they thought I and all of our guests weren't coming back to the hotel and were all checking out cause NONE OF OUR KEYS WORKED! Why? Do they expect everyone to stay inside the hotel for their entire stay? My brother also needed a playpen for my baby niece - you'd think they would provide something decent for the amount you're paying; instead, they got a playpen that was falling apart and hard as a rock. My parents were also staying at the hotel, and the cabinets in their room were falling off the hinges. My wife's aunt and uncle stayed at the hotel as well, and they are elderly; the air conditioning in their room was not working, and the hotel had no solution for them. The night my new wife and I returned from our wedding to spend our first night together, we realized - this room wasn't accessible! My wife is a paraplegic and requires an ADA-compliant room, meaning a lower bed, a roll-in shower, and a higher but standard-shaped toilet. Well, the bed was too high for her to transfer into. The bathroom had a bathtub she couldn't get into, and the toilet was too wide for her to fit her chair on. We ended up packing up and LEAVING the hotel on our wedding night and drove back to my in-law's house to sleep for an hour or so for a planned brunch we had the next day with family. It was a terrible ending to an otherwise fantastic day. After speaking with the woman who helped us book the rooms, she said she would provide our mother and father-in-law with a 50% discount for our room. Well, the fun didn't stop there. My wife and I got married on Saturday. Her parents booked us a stay here and paid for our rooms and everyone in the bridal party (very kind of them as this hotel is out of our price range). We arrived at the hotel, and they took our cards for "incidentals" I asked the woman at the front desk why they were taking a card when my mother and father in law have already paid for the room, and she assured me we wouldn't be charged. WRONG. We woke up this morning (Wednesday after the wedding) with a fat charge on our card - and this was after discussing getting a discount because of all the other issues mentioned above. The restaurant's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. This is a very nice hotel. The location mere minutes from the Great Neck train station and around the corner from the shops at Great Neck Plaza is perfect. The inside is lovely as soon as you enter the lobby. The room was terrific, ad advertised. Spacious and clean, very comfortable bed, 4K tv with full cable, desk with outlets (which I didn't need but it was nice to know it's there for those who would), pretty much all the casual traveler would need. My one major complaint as I mentioned is the restaurant, which is highly touted, is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I was taking a day trip from NYC and decided to treat myself to a hotel stay and was surprised to learn it would have to be without the Chicken Blanco Diablo, 14oz New York Strip Steak, and Fudge Molten Lava Cake. There was no reference to this on the Air BnB page which is where I made my reservation. When I did some checking, I did see the hours for the restaurant way down at the bottom of the web page for the restaurant, but btw, it says Closed Mondays when it's actually both Mondays and Tuesdays. And btw, no restaurant also means no room service. so be careful when you're planning a trip. Overall, it was a very nice hotel in a great location but I think 3/5 stars is fair since you're only getting full amenities 5/7's of the time. read more

The lounge is cozy and perfect for afternoon cocktails, which we had of course. The beer is ice cold and the dirty martini is excellent The staff and service is excellent and it's located in the heart of town. Was perfect weather for us to stroll the shops along Middle Neck Road and Saturday brunch at the Great Neck Diner was perfect for the ride home My wife and I can't wait to stay at Inn at Great Neck again. It was pricey, but really, it's in Great Neck, so you should expect that. It was pretty good for New York City area hospitality. None of the staff there were particularly friendly, but again, it's NYC so I wouldn't expect that. But they were helpful and professional. Big gold star for the bartender who kept the drinks coming for an hour after they were supposed to close. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I liked that there was good water pressure in the shower and that the shower head was high enough that I could stand under it. (I'm 6 foot, and I hate when the shower hits me in the chest.) If have to stay in Great Neck again I wouldn't have a problem staying there. Last thing...nice surprise that they have a complimentary breakfast Monday - Friday. The food wasn't awful. This hotel has a decent location and, despite looking out at a commuter rail, our room was reasonably quiet. However, what could have been a very nice place to stay was degraded by numerous minor yet, in the aggregate, disappointing concerns. Regarding our room, we found that our hot water was not always hot, lampshade had tears, room picture was not properly framed, a bathroom light was burned out, bath radiator rusted, HVAC fan sometimes noisy,... On our first day we went down for breakfast at 8AM and found that the egg serving tray did not have anything left (staff said their delivery did not happen) and there were two thin/small/hard pieces of French toast. After asking we were brought some cereal and a few more pieces of French toast were brought out. Another couple (after asking) were brought yogurt. On request I was given a glass of juice. [Why not put these items out for everyone instead of three fairly empty silver warming trays]. The caffeinated coffee urn was empty, but staff did bring out a glass carafe of coffee to fill our cups. The first night we enjoyed a couple of drinks and appetizers at the bar. It was interesting that when I showed the bartender the 'Yelp' coupon for a welcome glass of wine he knew nothing about it (I did not press it as a $6 glass of wine was not worth the effort). The Car Valet service was spot on and the room cleaning staff met our expectations. I have traveled and stayed in numerous hotels and found this to be the only one To which I would not return. PS: After reading a few of the comments - I can see that their business customer service representative provides their general managers email to resolve similar issues; However, before I wrote this comment, I did email their general manager and it is two days later. Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode about a car reservation? Where they "took the reservation" but didn't "hold the reservation" and how the "holding the reservation was really the important part". Well this is the hotel version... I won't comment on the property amenities, but had one of the worst front desk experiences I've ever had. Booked a reservation with Expedia, front desk told me they "Had the reservation but it was waitlisted" offered to book another reservation at a higher price. This is plain bait and switch. The hotel might look nice in the pictures, the rooms might actually be nice, but I wouldn't trust that they'd actually hold the reservation if I were you. UPDATE: Credit where it's due, management did contact me to apologize and try to make things right after seeing this review. Really nothing to be done to cure me at this point, but they did acknowledge it should not have happened. read more

We stayed over a night, and the service was wonderful. Minimal interference, room is clean and most things work (please clean out the conditioner dispenser). The breakfast was ok, the usual suspects were all present (bacon eggs, create your own waffles, toast, muffins & fruit) and I was surprised to see hash brown like potatoes. It was all quite good. In your cleverly written ads, where perhaps is the charming Antique Shops, the High fashion ladies shops, the fine dining restaurants, that do not exist. More apt, would be more empty stores with For Rent signs, and maybe some pop up stores. Now let's get to to the Hotel. Your inattentive greeter, Paul, was considerably less than cordial, although others made an attempt at knowing something of welcoming. We are not young, but quite experienced in travel, so this review is not being written by disgruntled guests, but more critical, when a facility boasts 4 stars. The double bedded room, was adequate, even with its shredded towels,aside from being greeted by torn wall paper, and carpeting that appeared to have been vacuumed for who knows how long. An education in clean sheets, and bed making wouldn't hurt. After all, that is what housekeeping is all about. We, as well, could have done without a huge live spider in the corner, that had to be removedThe rooms as well, are inadequately lit, and should be improved upon You boast of Cable TV! September 17 to 19, 2021. Room 202. The hotel is nice and the common areas are well-maintained. The employees are professional, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the mattress was very comfortable. Avoid Room 202 if you're a light sleeper - - this room faces the front of the hotel and it's directly above the front entrance so you will hear car doors closing through the night; and you will also hear the occasional loud guest entering, leaving or hanging out. There was a fruitfly or gnat issue in the room. We reported the issue to management; they offered us a different room, but since were only staying for two nights, we declined the offer. There was another major issue that was resolved during our stay. During our check out they made an adjustment on the final bill to make amends. It wasn't my best experience in a hotel, but I'd stay there again - - not in room 202. read more

Me and my now wife had everything planned for a January 29th, 2022 wedding but Mother Nature decided to drop over a foot of snow. We were forced to move our wedding to the following Saturday and had 1 week to do it. We had a block of rooms and also the bar for an AFTERPARTY. With one phone call to ANYHONY, the manager, who from day one was the The Epitome of customer service helped us move our reservation to that Saturday with no issue at all. Any last min requests were met with a smile and a "no problem". The hotel is beautiful and we and our guests were very pleased. I will do anything possible to not stay here. Sadly the company I work for has been putting people up in this hotel for a very long time. I don't care if my company won't pay I am not staying here. Not only is it incredibly expensive $220 a night but it's outdated things weren't working and their facilities that they advertised we're not available. Given I was here for a whole week the fact that the toilet was running and didn't work was a problem and then when their text message system asked how my state was and I responded there was no response. Also being away for a whole week I was really looking forward to the gym that they advertised. When I got there not only did they tell me that the gym was closed but they didn't offer an option of anywhere else to go. Checking in associate wasn't too nice and one night when we went to the bar the few of us that were staying at the hotel, The bartender had no interest in working and actually kept leaving the bar. It was pretty funny considering my coworkers wanted to get hammered and their first rank was empty for about 45 minutes before we finally decided to leave. Take your business somewhere else to a hotel that values you as a customer. read more

Came here for their Easter brunch. We had a lovely time! They had a fixed price for a large buffet selection. The buffet included the usual breakfast goodies: scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, bagels, etc. Also included were salads, pasta dishes, an excellent carving station with turkey and ham. Juice and coffee/tea were also included in the deal... oh and how could I forget the dessert selection: cheesecake, tiramisu and a chocolate fountain which was a hit for the kids! And the kids had some selections for them too: chicken fingers, fries, Mac n cheese and mini meatballs (I definitely dug into those choices too!) They also had the Easter Bunny there for photo ops, interacting with everyone and handing out some Easter eggs. We throughly enjoyed it! Hope they add an omelette station next year. read more

The hotel itself is fine. The room is clean and nicely sized for the price. The service overall is fine. The dinner service is excellent. The breakfast is an absolute tragedy. Why did they eliminate the breakfast buffet? The service is a disaster. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and potatoes. No potatoes. I got one cup of coffee in 20 minutes sitting there. I think I'll be staying somewhere with more attention to service next time I'm in the area. read more

The Inn @ Great Neck is located right in the heart of the town of Great Neck. It's pretty easy to find and it's right on a pretty main road. You pull up right under an awning where a valet is there waiting for you. The valet takes your bags and acts as the bag person as well sometimes. They are mostly very friendly and very accommodating. You get your car parked fast and your bags even faster. The front desk was polite and answered the phone all the time. Very quick at responses and always had an answer. But the phone didn't work in the room you could only press zero and never use any of the buttons for all the different hotel features...no valet, no housekeeping, no concierge, no lounge, no bar, and you get the point... Asking for towels took almost two hours to get there but they only had the one guys doing everything valet, towels, and baggage he was very nice! The mechanic also took almost two hours. He came with a poor attitude and didn't really want to fix anything. He had a low sling baseball cap and wasn't friendly at all. The shower head pipe was loose rattling in the wall with the cover plate just hanging. Don't get me started on the filthy shower head that was nothing you would ever want to shower with at all. They had to change the shower head for us. So it was kind of resolved. The room looked nothing like the pictures and were old and dated. The whole places looked so much better in the pictures. They must have a great photo person. The room was a good size but not the right room. They wouldn't let me change my room because they were all booked. They also wouldn't let me get a refund, not even a partial refund. So customer service wasn't the best. I was basically told I was stuck with the room with no reprieve in anyway. Also, the bathroom sink literally had no water pressure you couldn't even wash your hands! The breakfast was okay but your eating in top of the bar and seating in the lobby with a door opening making it chilly. Not the most comfy place to eat your breakfast. Also the dinning room is right off the lobby no seclusion at all. I didn't see any gym or pool either. Just a business center and little market... Won't be staying here again anytime soon... read more

My office had a party in the ball room at this hotel and honestly I was pleasantly surprised!! The set up was very nice, lots of options, plenty of space. I liked how there was a bar in the room and a bar outside in the lobby. Food was delicious!!! Fantastic valet guys too!! My only gripe is that I got their early And they were still setting up the room which is fine. The issue I have is that the staff was very young and they were cursing the entire time with myself another coworker is there. There was even codes hanging up on the chairs and the tables they were she was on some chairs and there was even a Bra sitting on a chair from one of the workers. Not very classy. read more

Fantastic event venue for our business. We had ~40 people and made use of their large conference/dining presentation room. This was our second year, and again, it was perfect.
