I'm making payments to them and nothing happens. I'm obviously not communicating correctly with them but cash and kindness don't seem to work. Update July 2,2026- they've responded quickly and got me back on the road. They gave me some good ideas on different options moving forward that will make it a much better experience. Turns out it wasn't all their fault. Apparently I need to have another kid so I can have them train me on phone settings.

Also reminded me to take it easy on new slippery tires (I easily could have goosed it and slid out pulling out on Redwood Road). And we had a good time talking bikes and riding adventures. Thank YOU! Tyler's wife (Tess) and shop dog were also very sweet. P.S. I could have cleaned my rims better before going in. Sorry. I'm not much of a bike washer (My wash it riding in the rain), I did give it a cleaning after getting home.

Extremely Disappointed -- $95,000 Truck and Unacceptable Repair Quality!…read more If I could give this body shop zero stars, I would. We purchased our truck brand new from Murdock Chevrolet in Woods Cross for approximately $95,000. We originally brought the truck to the dealership for a manufacturer-related issue that was not caused by us. We trusted the dealership to take care of the problem and return our brand-new vehicle to us in the same condition it was in when we dropped it off. Unfortunately, the truck was returned to us with new damage that was not there when we brought it in, including scratches to the paint and bumper. We were understandably very disappointed. The dealership then sent the truck to Higgins Body Shop in North Salt Lake for the repairs. Unfortunately, our experience with the body shop has been equally disappointing. After the first repair, we noticed visible imperfections in the paint, including dirt or debris beneath the clear coat that created an appearance similar to "fish eyes". We brought these concerns to the dealership, and the truck was sent back to the body shop for additional work. When we inspected it after the second repair, we found additional issues, including nicks and marks on the rear bumper and very noticeable sanding marks throughout the quarter panel from the repainting process. For a brand-new, $95,000 truck, this level of workmanship is simply not acceptable. We should not have to repeatedly point out obvious flaws and return a brand-new vehicle multiple times to correct substandard repairs. We are currently waiting to see how this situation will be resolved. We sincerely hope the dealership and body shop take our concerns seriously and make this right. At this point, we have to ask: Maybe it is time for Murdock Chevrolet to consider finding a different, more professional body shop that can provide the level of quality and attention to detail that customers should expect--especially when repairing brand-new, high-value vehicles. If a body shop is going to handle repairs on new, high-value vehicles, customers should be able to expect professional workmanship, attention to detail, and a finished product that meets a reasonable standard of quality. Based on our experience so far, Higgins Body Shop has not met that standard. We would strongly encourage anyone considering having a newer or high-value vehicle repaired here to carefully inspect the work before accepting the vehicle.

I requested that I have a custom, bikini type top made of Sunbrella fabric, to match the front seat covers. He seemed to think that it was a poor choice and pointed me to Stayfast fabric. I was told initially, that it would take 2 or 3 days and cost roughly $400. 3 weeks went by with no word. I stopped in and was told that they were waiting for fabric. Another 3 weeks went by, with no word. I stopped in and was told that they still didn't have fabric. I went in the next morning and said that I would just take the vehicle and go. I was then told that the fabric was in at Keyston (their supplier) and if I wanted to take the Willys, I had to pay for $424 for the fabric, that they still didn't have. They also said that the overhead door was broken and I couldn't take my vehicle anyway. So, I was basically held hostage. I got a call the next week to tell me that it was done. The workmanship was good, but I was presented with a bill for $1047.37. 7 weeks and 2 1/2 times the initial estimate. Absolutely no concern for customer service or factual information. Unfortunately, I would not recommend their services, for any project.

We paid him more than $400 to not have it fixed. Took it to another mechanic that charged us $200 to actually fix it! We continue to get the run around on a truck has been at true speed for over 2 months! We've already given John over $2000 for repairs that have not been done! We keep hearing excuses that they can't finish because they keep receiving the "wrong part". The 3rd car we made a huge mistake buy sending one of our customers to John. The original quote increased by more than $200 and was weeks later than promised. Our customers finally got it back today only to find out that one of the O2 sensors than was supposed to have been repaired hasn't been. We're having to take it to another mechanic again who says it will be about $275 and can have it in a few days. In the mean time we are lending them one of our cars for the second time because we feel so bad that they keep getting screwed over by John. We are just starting out and are barely making it ourselves. We lose money everyday that this truck is sitting at his shop not getting anything done. At this point all he has done is make things worse. It isn't drive-able and we can't afford to take it to another mechanic to have it fixed. We have to make huge payment to our bank every month- but John apparently doesn't care about his customers, deadlines or actually running his business. John is as crooked as they come! Whatever you do DO NOT take your cars to these scam artists.
