This was the first repair that was needed outside of my warranty and outside of VW. These guys were honest and straightforward about what was wrong and the cost and the recommendations they provided. They were responsive and communicated to me about the timeline in which it would be completed, when the part was delayed a day, they made sure I knew and I never had to call them for an update. Stress of a broken down car was as minimal as it could be and I will definitely return as the need arises. Thanks so much!!!

That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.

Mr. Hazen is the manager and handled the trade in with my son's car smoothly. So, I had written this review before the end of the sales and it's set up this way. I recommend waiting until all sales are final and here's why. We get to the last guy Mr. Laird and found out there's a tracker put into the car and you get charged just under $1500 for that. No choice. I didn't like that at all. We let it go since it was already in the car. Not right though.

They agreed to refund the full amount of the GAP insurance and Warranty we didn't want. Colton has arranged a loaner car, and the vehicle is in the shop getting repaired the right way hopefully. Once this is done, money refunded (still waiting) and the car has been fixed satisfactorily, I will update the overall rating. I'll keep you updated if they follow through. Here are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) They will try to sell you a vehicle monitoring system that is $50 GPS tracking unit that is connected to your OBDII system. They wanted $1799 for it, and they say it can't be removed. It has two tabs to remove the unit in about 10 seconds; Later the salesman said we could pay for a year then they will remove it.... this was a complete lie. Don't Pay it! 2) They tried to add on a carbon credit fee of $200 which no one could explain what it was. 3) Their dealer fee is $699 which is on the high side and the highest I've come across in Utah. 3) Branded cars have no manufactures warranty left, you have zero warranty on their cars. They will offer you a warranty and in my son's case they said it was $2,200 off but the contract was $4500 for a warranty, he thought it was $2200 total????? 4) The next morning after driving the car home he noticed the trunk was leaking, the taillights were full of moisture, and the trunk is out of alignment. We had an autobody tech look at it and he said there were numerous panels out of alignment and the car should not have left the shop. We went into the dealership Monday morning and asked to return the car and get our down payment back. They said it's his fault and he should have checked the vehicle (it was dark at night when he saw the car).

DO NOT GO HERE -- Read Before You Bring Your Car In!…read more I've tried to give this dealership's service department the benefit of the doubt multiple times -- both for my personal car and through my company's fleet -- and every time, it's been a disaster. I brought in a recently purchased car for a recall and diagnostic. Appointment was for 7AM -- no follow-up until the next day. They sent a generic inspection video, but the advisor had no idea what parts were needed and told me my whole front end was loose. He told me to take it to a body shop. So I took it to Gerber Collision -- they said the only issue was a single loose bolt on the radiator support. That's it. Even they were shocked that Ford didn't just tighten it on the spot. To make matters worse, my entire driver's side was covered in grease -- handprints, footprints -- a total mess. They said they'd "detail it." Yeah, right. I spoke to Dustin (service manager) who apologized, acknowledged other customers had the same issues, and promised they were "restructuring." He asked for another chance. I agreed. Brought my car back. New advisor, better start... then it went downhill again. Two more weeks passed with barely any updates. The tech (who was actually great) told me the axle boot was torn and they'd give me a deal to fix it. I got a competing quote from Egan Auto (they're fantastic, btw) and sent it to the advisor. They finally responded a day later, agreed to match it -- but ignored my follow-up questions entirely. Left voicemails, texts, no response. Finally called Dustin again. This time? He blew me off and said he'd "use it as a training tool." That's it. They had my car two weeks and wasted my time, again. Bottom line: * Terrible communication * Unorganized * Sloppy, careless techs (grease everywhere) * Zero follow-through * Management doesn't care Take your car to Egan Auto instead. Not Done Right the First Time, Poor Communication I want to…read morestart my review by saying that Miles, the general manager, was always courteous and helpful when I called. I also understand that cars are complicated, especially older vehicles, and that there's a pandemic going on. And yet, the service I received at Dave's Auto was extremely frustrating and I am left feeling dissatisfied at best. This whole ordeal started on April 20, when I agreed to have my vehicle (2006 Dodge Sprinter with 195,000 miles) towed to Dave's Auto for an engine replacement (expected to cost around $15,000). We originally discussed a May 1 pickup date. I live in Missoula, Montana so most of these correspondences were done over the phone or email, and I was attempting to coordinate flights to collect the van as well as a move-out date for my apartment. I sent over consent for services on April 29 and told my landlady that I would be out of my apartment by the end of the month (the van is set up for living). I didn't hear anything further from the shop until May 20, when I sent a followup email. I then booked a flight for May 28 (almost a full month behind schedule) to pick up the van. On May 24, the shop realized that the wrong fuel injectors had been installed by a different shop. It is unclear why this was not discovered earlier. The van had already been at Dave's Auto for over a month at this point. Dave's Auto then rushed to reinstall new fuel injectors in time for my flight. I left my dogs in the care of my landlady, who agreed to feed and let them out but nothing more. I planned to be back in Missoula on May 30 (a 2-day trip). When I arrived on May 28, I was told that a test drive had been done and that the van was finished. I started driving and got about 10 minutes away before a check engine light came on and the van went into "limp mode." I returned to the shop and was told that we'd need to replace the turbo sensor, but that the sensor wouldn't arrive until June 1 due to the holiday weekend. I understand this is not the shop's fault, but I never got a straight answer as to why this problem was not discovered earlier or what was done on original test drives. I tracked down a turbo sensor at another dealership and replaced it myself. The van still did not work. Miles (over email on a holiday weekend, kudos to him) suggested the EGR valve may need cleaning. I removed and cleaned the EGR valve. A mechanic friend suggested replacing the turbo resonator eliminator; I did that. At this point it was May 31 - I was supposed to be home on May 30. I was no closer to a solution than I had been on May 28. At this point it was clear that I would not be returning home to care for my dogs, so I scrambled to find dogsitters over a holiday weekend while I was 8 hours away from them. I live alone and don't have family in Montana; none of my friends are available to dogsit. I returned the van to the shop on June 1. They replaced the EGR valve, charging me over $700 for those repairs and taking another 2 days of me living in Salt Lake City without my dogs. That did not fix the problem, as the van continued to slip into "limp mode" after a mere 10 minutes of driving. On Wednesday June 2, Dave himself sent me out the door with the van, having replaced that EGR valve. I was told that it had been test driven and that I was good for the 8 hour drive home. Within 10 minutes of leaving the shop, the exact same problem re-triggered. I returned to the shop again and was told that the next step was to replace the turbo, at $2,000+. Remember; I brought the vehicle in originally for fuel injectors. Then it became a new engine. Then it became a turbo as well. The vehicle had not needed a new turbo and had never triggered limp mode in the 9+ months previous to these repairs. I do not have an explanation from the shop as to why this could be the case. If I had a job that required in-person work, at this point I suspect I would have been fired. I was in Salt Lake City for a full week longer than expected. I had to buy clothes and shampoo for myself and coordinate dogsitters from 8 hours away. I had to cancel work appointments due to not having my notes or gear with me, losing me time and money. I understand that engines are complicated and that they could not have foreseen all of these complications. I also understand that there's a pandemic going on and that shops are busy. My issue is that I was repeatedly given timelines that were inaccurate which upended my life completely and that I was sent home with a vehicle that was clearly not ready to drive. This job was NOT done right the first time. I still do not have an answer from Dave's Auto as to why I had no communication or updates between April 29 and May 20. It seems as though many of the problems we experienced between May 28 and June 4 were due to a rushed job on those 6 days. If the shop was too busy to help me or parts were taking too long, that should have been communicated to me. Ult

I'm a mechanic by trade -- not a diesel specialist, but an experienced professional -- and had already replaced several components before bringing the truck in, including multiple sensors and a Cummins remanufactured EGR valve purchased directly from a dealership. Despite these efforts, I was still experiencing a persistent check engine light for high EGR flow and frequent regenerations. When I arrived at Dave's, I was told there would be a diagnostic fee and that they might need to drive the truck a few hundred miles to identify the issue. I agreed to this, understanding the complexity of diesel systems. They determined that a DPF cleaning was necessary, which I approved. That service did successfully resolve the frequent regeneration issue. However, the main problem -- the EGR flow code -- remained unresolved. Over the course of six weeks, they put nearly 1,500 miles on my truck, driving it extensively between Centerville, South Jordan, American Fork, and Willard, Utah. Ultimately, their conclusion was that I needed a new mass airflow sensor (which did fix the issue) and a non-remanufactured EGR valve. They also encouraged me to seek a warranty replacement from the dealership, claiming there was a "bad batch" of EGR valves wanting me to purchase a new one from them. -- something I later learned was inaccurate after further research. The EGR valve's small gap when unpowered is actually normal until the ECU calibrates it under operation. In total, I spent around $5,000, went through two new EGR valves, and received my truck back with the same codes it originally had. I was even charged for multiple tanks of fuel used during their extensive driving done after hours and on weekends. As it seemed using my truck as a personal vehicle. In the end, the true fix turned out to be the new mass airflow sensor -- not the additional parts or labor they insisted upon. While the staff were courteous, my overall experience did not reflect the honesty and transparency I expected. For those considering Dave's Diesel, I recommend reviewing other customer experiences carefully -- especially from mechanics or technically inclined customers -- before making a decision.

They didn't just say bring it back in or worse disregard him. They immediately sent a flat bed to tow it to the show and reassured my friend that they have insurance if the vehicle has been damaged they will replace the whole thing, etc. I tell this story because let's face it no one is perfect all the time but in the face of a potentially catastrophic error 168 really showed up and did the right thing without any hassle. Mark Miller Toyota gets a full 5‑stars, two‑thumbs‑up, 10‑out‑of‑10 from us! Our old car basically died--transmission gone, catalytic converter done converting, transfer case done transferring. The repair bill was going to be $17,000, and with my hubby leaving for Brazil, we were on a serious time crunch. We searched every car on Facebook, KSL, and Copilot and found a couple in SLC. The first dealership was... let's just say "creative with the truth." They didn't even have the car they advertised and tried to sell us something we didn't want. Hard pass. Then we went to **Mark Miller Toyota**, fully expecting more dealership nonsense. But shockingly--they actually had the car we came to see. We test‑drove it, told them we had others to look at, and they said, "Okay, come back if you don't find what you're looking for." No pressure. No guilt. No weird sales tactics. Just honest people. We did come back. And we did buy the car. We love the car and it was a very fair price. The next day, after Hyrum left, I noticed a crack in the door. They told me to bring it in right away. They didn't want our first experience to be a bad one they would fix it!! We took it to our personal mechanic (4 seasons Auto in PG LOVE THEM also!) to checked it out first and said the car was in "mint condition"--nothing wrong mechanically. So we brought it in for a repair, Mark Miller gave us the choice of any car on their list as a loner while they fixed the car. I told him to just give me what ever. "What ever" turned out to be hybrid fancy 2026 Toyota Camry! While driving the loaner, I got a rock chip... which turned into a crack. I panicked. The MIL comes on during long road trips and then shuts off after the truck cools down. After doing minimal research, I found out this is a known issue on these 24 Tacoma's and most dealers will replace the grille shutter assembly under warranty because it's a known issue. After a rude check in process with the service advisor where he said "so the shutter malfunction light isn't on now? Great" and him promising me I would only pay one diagnostic fee of $190, my truck went in for service. I have an aftermarket light bar installed behind the grille. Despite the manufacturer of this light bar stating there are no interference problems and me running the light bar for a year now with absolutely zero issues they are still blaming the issue on the light bar and the wiring interfering with operation. I do not buy that for even a second. How could I have no issues with interference for a year then all of a sudden, it starts interfering. I call bull crap. When I received the service estimate I noticed that they are trying to charge me two diagnostic fees. One for the shutter malfunction and one for a separate window issue that was fixed in the service bay. And it only took them 2 hours to diagnose the "issue". So, they are trying to charge me $380 to essentially do nothing. So much for "bumper-to-bumper warranty. Per my research, the truck needs a new set of grille shutters. Everything my truck is doing falls in line with what I found. I used to be a technician, btw. Complete rip off and the service technicians are rude as all get out.
