Do not stay here. Many issues. Worst was horrible metal clinking noise outside my window, sounded like metal on metal that started at 10:30 p.m. I recorded it but no way to add it here. AC was horribly loud as well. Also, dark, unlit parking lot, felt unsafe. No soap for bathroom sink. No cover on outlet next to bed. I absolutely adored this place, it has an old Timey feel and very comfortable room. The staff is amazing and I definitely will be back!

The only pleasant surprise was the full kitchenette, but only up to a point. It was not expected and was therefore a surprise, but without the advance knowledge of its inclusion, we hadn't prepared to take advantage of it. So, in the end, it was a wash. This will be lengthy. The Booking placement ad did not accurately describe the facilities that we found ourselves in. Our first visual impression was of a 1940s boarding house slightly renovated to stay in code. The advertised "upscale neighborhood must have been a ruse due to the high security front door code which required remote operation from an absentee manager to open. There was no one on site to check us in. This is a low-rent apartment house that has a few rooms for overnight guests. If not for the kindness of a resident guiding us in the ways of the hotel we would have never figured how to get into our room for the night. We never met a manager or staff member while on site. The key to our door was in a key safe box that was attached to our door. It was connected inside the key safe box with a chain just long enough to insert the key into the door knob lock. We got the front door security code and the key safe box code from a text message from the absentee manager. The key remained attached to the key safe box; we never had the security of possessing the key during our stay. After opening the door we realized that the two beds occupied so much of the small area that we could barely get into the room. There was less than one foot between the side of the bed and the corner of the door hall that we had to pass by with our luggage. The beds were extremely and unnecessarily tall; we are average sized people and could not touch the floor with our feet while sitting on the bed. These were the hardest beds we had ever slept in. We likened them to sleeping on a picnic bench with only a blanket under us. There was no room to haul the one desk chair into the room for more comfortable TV viewing. The bathroom had been overly remodeled to fit the tone of the rest of the building, and the dual head shower would not turn off fully after we used it; we listened to the dripping of the faucet all night. The smell inside the building was both of must and of bug bombs. When I phoned to inquire about an ice machine I was told they didn't provide one, but that Aldi Grocery was just around the block and I could get ice there. Aldi did not carry bags of ice. If I could give this less stars I would. Stay away. And Booking.com, shame on you for not vetting this location. read more

By far the worst experience of my life. He had cameras in the bathroom to watch you. There is visible dirt on the bed the AC window unit had a gap in the wall large enough for rodents to walk into. Jim the owner is a horribly dishonest man. When we got there and asked if we could leave and get our money back, he told us yes as long as we didn't give him a bad review and then he didn't give us our money back. I definitely wouldn't take kids anywhere near that location. There was tons of questionable activities going on people walking around with very little clothing on. For what we paid it was a great place to crash. We were leaving on a cruise the next morning and wanted something close to Tampa's cruise port. They have laundry facilities (kinda rough). There are no elevators and all rooms have a small kitchenette. With in walking distance area many bars and restaurants. There is a Starbucks at the end of the street and a Winn Dixie around the corner if you wanna grab stuff for late night snacking. They owner is friendly and chatty. The hotel was clean and had everything you'd need. Ample parking and close to hotel. No additional fees. The building is secure and has an electronic door and old school Keys. Not the swipe card. We would stay again. Def not the nicest in the area, but not the worst and the price was good. Def could use some updating. read more

I don't even know what to say. Be warned, this is a 21 and over only hotel. If you booked through a travel site, your screwed because its not disclosed beforehand. My poor 12 yr old ASD son will NEVER forget this 3 hr period, for all the wrong reasons. Yes, 3 hrs... thats how long it took between checkin in and seeing the reality of this dirty, tiny, hole in the wall place and getting into a real hotel with a chargeback to this craphole. My American Express card rep could not believe it when I told her the room didn't even have a dresser or drawers, unless you count the line of armoires with locks in the hall. Because everyone wants to walk into the hall of a hotel to get your clothes everyday. We booked at The Hyde Park Hotel because it was close to Tampa General Hospital where I was having a procedure, and reasonably priced considering its location. It was easy to find and, as I said, near the hospital. The hotel is interesting. The office is up a short and turning flight of stairs and the parking is a small lot right next to it with a few extra spaces on the narrow street. The office has DVDs on the honor system and they do not employ 24 hour desk clerks, If you get there when no one is on that office, it is some sort of paging system and they are supposed to call you. That setup is probably partly why the cost is so affordable for us. We made sure we were there at the posted check-in time and had no problem. There was just one young woman on duty when we got there, but she was very nice and efficient. The rooms include full but tiny kitchens. The A/C unit was rather loud, but that is not unusual for hotel rooms. There is a Winn-Dixie nearby where we bought a rotisserie chicken and some soup. There is a minimum amount of dishes and pans in the kitchen cupboard, though we barely used them during this stay. For the price and location it seems like a pretty good deal. Not sure what happened with the tragic negative reviews I have seen - some may be what I have heard referred to as revenge reviews, exaggerated reviews to get back at management for not having smoking rooms or for not handing out full refunds or free rooms for minor room issues. Who knows? I know I will go back there next time I need to stay in Tampa. read more

Well, all I can say is the photos on the site do not do this place justice; or the truth. It looked at first to be a cute boutique hotel. Unfortunately it ended being a very tired looking ghost of it's past. Service is very poor. Except for the nice lady that works the night shift. It was not her fault it took two hours for someone to go buy a plunger when our toilet overflowed. (They had only one in the whole place and no one could find it.) On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable (this was the second room they gave us, the first had no sheets.) the stove, microwave and refrigerator were new. (Had to ask for paper towels, no dish towels.) And the shower was very nice; instant hot water and water flow was great with an updated shower head. On March 12, 2012 I enjoyed several days' stay in the Hyde Park Hotel in the SOHO (South Howard Avenue) area of Tampa, Florida. What a fantastic place! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and am looking forward to my next opportunity to return. The Hyde Park Hotel is an older building in one of the most desirable of neighborhoods in South Tampa. It is within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and other attractions in the area. A Sweetbay Grocery and CVS pharmacy are within a short walk as are Starbucks and Panera Bread. Much more interesting are the local one-of-a-kind treasures such as Bern's Steakhouse, Side Berns, Tiny Tap Tavern and the list goes on and on. Also worth noting is that the Hyde Park Hotel is only a few blocks away from Hyde Park Village which is the next neighborhood over. Hyde Park Village is another charming and walkable part of town filled with even more bars, restaurants and shopping. Bayshore Boulevard which is inarguably the most beautiful place in all of Tampa is only a few blocks to the south. The reservation and check-in process is quick and efficient. After I made my reservation, I received an email with the code to the lobby door and a different code for a small lockbox beside the door of my room which contained the room key. After pulling into the parking lot, I was standing in my room, checked in and ready to unpack in less than one minute. If you have any questions or need anything at all, someone will either be in the office at the hotel, or there is a call box you can use. On the occasions that I used the call box, the phone was answered on the second ring by the owner himself. How's that for customer service? The rooms are small, as you should expect in an older property. I found everything to be clean and in great working order. My room had a fully equipped kitchen with full-sized appliances. There are coin-op laundry facilities on site. Let me make a special note about the blazing-fast WiFi! My work is dependent upon technology and a fast and solid Internet connection is a must. The Hyde Park Hotel deserves extra credit for delivering fantastic and FREE WiFi. In summary, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The property is great; the owner is a great guy and is easily accessible if you have any needs or questions. For travelers who want to really experience this wonderful city and especially the unique neighborhood in which this hotel lies, give the Hyde Park Hotel a try. You won't regret it. read more

Well, I must first say that this is much more a hostel than a hotel. Having said that, it is a 4-star hostel! You get your own room and bathroom, but the feel is much more hostel-like. The reasons why it is hostel like: office staff not always there, DVDs you can use in your room, real keys instead of card ones, building a little dated, the towels are small, etc. The bathrooms aren't extremely clean. They look like they have been wiped down, but they need a deep scrub. Thus, if those are your expectations, you will love this place. The location is excellent to restaurants and bars in Hyde Park. It is also a great place to get to Bayshore. I went for a 7-mile run. I started here, went along Bayshore, Davis Island, UT, and then came back here through Hyde Park. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. Walking in it reminded me of my catholic grade school 25 years ago, rented chairs, disgusting tile floors in the bathroom (no soap, no hairdryer), and late check in. Extremely small shower with water barely trickling out, and floors that were so sticky, our shoes stuck to the floor . We showered in flip flops, reminded me of my college dorm, and the heater was broken!! I will say JJ at the front desk seemed like he was trying his best,the maintenance guy was very nice and accommodating & it is within walking distance of great restaurants. The owner really needs to revamp this place and listen to all these reviews. Woah, I saw someone mention "boutique" in the reviews, and while looking for a hotel for business in Tampa, I saw the price and was sold. Sorry, but boutique my ass. I swear I'm not a hotel snob, (as long as it's fairly clean, decent bed and a hot shower, I'm usually pretty good) but as we arrived to this hotel, I just kept thinking, I've made a huge mistake. I'm glad I looked at the hours before heading this way (I'm one to arrive early, but no early arrivals here, unless you call ahead I guess... but that was from a previous review and not personal experience.) They open at 3 PM, and when we got there at 3:15, the door was still locked. A nice housekeeper let us in, and I looked around for the check in.... and there were signs pointing upstairs. The check in desk was a room packed full of crap, event though the guy checking us in was pleasant (although he really didn't say anything, except asking for an ID) but it was just weird. I did think it was cool he looked like a 6 foot tall McLovin' from Super Bad. He walked us to our room, and there was about 2 feet from the door to the king sized bed. Sure, it's a smaller room, but on the other side, there was about 4 ft from the wall, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they decided to place the bed there. We wanted a quick rest before heading out again, but there was a vacuum running in the hallway, hitting ALL of the doors and making loud banging sounds, so that was a no go. The toilet kept running and the chain fell off after almost every use. (Ugh.) So we get back, and just wanted a good night's sleep. The bed was super hard (and I like a firmer bed) and the pillows were like bricks. The sheets were rough, but on a positive note, they did look clean. We both tossed and turned the entire night. I would have been ok with most of this, until I went to shower the next morning. (There was only a shower in this room.) I could barely fit in there (and I'm a smaller person) so I can't even imagine someone taller than 5'3" in that thing. And there was black mold on the bottom of the flimsy shower curtain, and as I gazed down, I saw the dirt, grime and hair on the baseboards of every guests past. Ew. And the room did smell like smoke, but not to the point where it was overwhelming. But when we turned on the ac/heater, all of a sudden, I started sneezing like crazy. It took quite a long time for it to heat up and with all the sneezing, we just decided to turn it off. There is a little kitchenette, and I used the microwave for some hot tea the next morning, but somehow, even after 3 minutes, the water was lukewarm. The coffee maker looked kinda gross too, as it had missed a cleaning or two, and I saw a sign above the kitchen counter that said things were washed by a dishwasher, but not up to federal standards or something? woah. The nearby construction started around 8:30 AM, (on a federal holiday) with sounds so loud we had no choice but to wake up, and we originally planned on staying a bit longer, we got out of there as fast as we could. Pros: Parking lot with no charge, cheap price. Cons: All that I mentioned above. Would I stay here again? Nope. read more

Glad that there were some reviewers that had a nice stay, probably in the "Upgraded" room that may be present at this sad excuse for a hotel. I think that it really may be an apartment space - there's a "rent drop" box near the ground floor doors, that rents out the unoccupied rooms as hotel offerings. Though advertised as having full service kitchens, there were no amenities available to make the kitchen serviceable. One 2 gal pot, one 12" skillet - nothing much else except the smallest elec. coffee pot I've ever seen - no filters, no cleaning implements, no pitcher to chill water in the fridge (Actually the fridge was the cleanest hotel appliance I've ever seen - probably from no use). Think in terms of: "What should be present to make this room comfortable and actually usable?" 99% of the answers would be "not found here". Really, not even a bathmat in the bathroom. (That was addressed by the comment: "Really, you aren't the first person who's asked that. We may look into that in the future" ?!!!? . The manager actually listed quite a few issues .... to be addressed in the future.) Back to the room layout - the room was severely occupied by a huge king mattress on a handmade plywood and 3X3 platform that was ridiculously tall for a bed. Very little accessible space around it. Built in shelves were all built without measuring, it would seem, as all the shelves were on a slant. Additional 2' deep shelves in the bathroom were actually in a corner where they could not be reached except by climbing over the toilet. Cheap towels. No place near the sink to place toiletries, except a dirty windowsill. The proverbial straw was that we were there on a rainy weekend and on returning to the room on the second day of our stay, we had water running in (no, I did not mean to say dripping) from poorly set window frames. The room was dank and all our clothes were moist from the now unavoidable wetness. The manager seemed a bit unconcerned - came to the room with a bin of wet towels (obviously from other rooms) to collect and refresh ours that were totally saturated. Before closing I have to mention the oppressive and quite overwhelming ODOR we were presented with. Seemed like someone spilled a bottle of air freshener in the room, and actually sprayed the bedclothes quite heavily - on the second day we realized, after the fragrance died out, that occupants do not take the "no smoking" seriously - the pillows smelled quite obviously from cigarette smoke. Left after 2 days of a planned 4 day stay and will never return, never suggest this place to anyone, and only pegged one star because you have to hit at least one star to post the review. read more

Here's the deal - you need a place to stay in the area, right? You don't necessarily expect 5-stars but you definitely cannot endure anything below 2-stars. Sound familiar? I booked this hotel through Booking.com and had a different idea in mind of what I thought the boutique hotel should be like. The parking was free - lots of spaces to be had. Entering the building (small area) you need to ring up to the office or know the entrance code ahead of time; I called a month before my arrival in order to make sure I could access my room after-hours and was given the door code then. Luckily I had it, or I would have been standing outside looking silly. This place is NOT for anyone with walking disabilities - the office to check-in is up stairs and to even get to your room, you need to step up a few steps to the main hallway. After I checked in, I was led to the room. Two double-beds with a tiny kitchenette, very small bathroom, TV and DVD player. We had four adults staying in the room (including myself) and I'm glad we're good friends, because the room is indeed small. They included two bottles of water in the room, which was a nice touch. Here's the pros (beyond what I mentioned above): - Literally within walking distance of a Winn-Dixie. It's directly behind the hotel. - Plenty of restaurants and unique shops within walking distance of the hotel, too. - If you're using Uber, the drivers can find you instantly. - Check out is as simple as dropping your key into a box near the front door. Here's the (mild) cons: - The door to the hotel room does NOT lock automatically when you exit. Make sure to lock the door with your given key. - The shower temperature barely got above a smidge of warm - if you like hot showers, this hotel will disappoint. - The A/C unit, while it worked, wasn't keeping the room cool enough throughout the night. We weren't too pleased about that. Overall, considering we stayed here for one night for Gasparilla Music Fest, I would give this hotel 4-stars. Location alone (near a grocery store; 8 minute drive to the festival area) was worth trying out this place. If I had to stay here beyond the one night, I probably wouldn't rate it as high. read more

This place is ancient and a dump! Do not waste your money!! Booked here because it was near Amalie Arena where we are going to see Pink .. what a letdown! A beautiful weekend is now spoiled. My boyfriend and I were in town for my surgery. We chose this place last minute we were staying with a friend, luckily we realized it was only 5 minutes from the doctors office after Hotwire chose this place for us. Very convenient since I knew I'd be in a lot of pain-which I was. When we got there it was 1pm and we couldn't get it because check in isn't until 3, so if you plan on checking in early you can't you have to wait. So we walked down the street and ate at Daily Eats. It was only a 3 minute walk and their food is delicious I promise you, very friendly people as well. They serve breakfast all day. So we came back to check in- had a hard time getting in at first you have to hit the call button to ask to get in and this was very annoying at first but then the office guy came down to get us when we called his office from our phone. I didn't mind the door having to be locked like that because the hotel is literally in a neighborhood, again didn't mind it's a quiet neighborhood no loud music at night or anything. The office guy was nice enough to give us a really nice room so I could be comfortable for my surgery. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms so some of them I kid you not are really ugly ha. I know this because our shower would not get hot and they were having issues fixing it at first so we had to shower in the room across from us...not an attractive room lol. But my boyfriend spoke to the office guy again the next day because it still wasn't working and it was really important for me to shower after my surgery since I didn't want to have any bacteria in my body I was in pain and was in bed all day. A guy came in to fix it and was very nice about it and was very compassionate about me having surgery, as well as the man in the office. The rooms are still being remodeled so you don't know if you'll get a nice room or not. Loved it here and really loved the bathroom other than the water being cold at first. Btw the red light in the bathroom I believe is a heat lamp so you can dry faster, could be wrong but it was soooo cool. This room also had a flat screen mounted on the wall, mini fridge, microwave, old vanity like dresser, a table to eat, and a Samsung brand A/C. Loved the A/C because it was above a wall and we could control the temp with a remote. Unfortunately I didn't take much pictures. read more

So it's wasn't so bad a first definitely not a five star hotel, but at check in the guy was pleasant. But the hotel itself, you can hear the people talk (and other stuff) in the rooms around yours. There's really no privacy and out stay was horrible.... the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Would have been better to sleep on the floor. And then being woken up at 1:30am because the college kids want to tear through the hallway. And then again at 4:00am because the people across the hall gelt the need to have their domestic disputes in the hallway, yelling profanity at each other was ridiculous and definitely felt the need to let everyone know about their issues. We checked in at 5pm and promptly left at 8am this morning! I will never go back there and wish I could get a refund because this place I'm not worth 200$ a night for no sleep and no comfort when you are meant to be vacationing. Not worth it, I would have expected the uncomfortable beds and rough and ignorant guest from a motel 6 or red roof inn, where you pay 60$ a night not when you spend almost 4x that amount. read more

I'm in love with this hotel. Like someone mentioned, it had that B&B feel, just no breakfast. The staff is amazing and super friendly. And the best part is that it is right down the street from several bars and restaurants. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was there are no black out curtains like you find in most hotels, but with check out time at 11, it helped me wake up any way. I will definitely return if I'm ever in Tampa overnight. read more

Friendly staff, great location, but rooms are rough around the edges. This hotel has the potential to be great. The exterior and lobby feel from another era--retro cool. The rooms, however, are a bit lacking. Very cramped for two adults and a baby. The refrigerator was broken (freezer appeared to work, though!), there were several bathroom towel racks no longer in use whose anchors remained uselessly affixed to the wall, unfinished wooden trim pieces in the closet and a/c unit wall mount and could even see exterior light peaking through the a/c wall mounting. We were also only given a single room key, and no mention was made of complimentary wifi access. There were mere wisps of curtains, mostly insufficient at blocking light. But the bathroom shower was well appointed, the bed mattress comfortable and price and location were right. Would likely give it another shot. read more

Super cute boutique hotel. Checked in for a one night stay. This hotel is less than two miles to the Amalie Arena. It's a $6 ride to the Arena with uber. Dylan was very nice upon check in. And the room was cute and comfy. When driving into downtown Tampa, it's this big metro city and the last thing you expect is to drive up to this quaint hotel. The rooms are small but they have alot going on. Two full size beds that are on a platform and comfy, nook that is a desk and clothing rod above desk, a kitchenette and I'm talking full fridge, full size stove, double SS sink and microwave, separate small bathroom with no tub just shower stall. The price was $115 +tax. Great place to stay! read more

THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. First of all I was being rushed to check in so that the lady can leave for the day. The office isn't open 24/7 only 3-10 which is very inconvenient. I left my card on file and paid cash for the night I stayed a week later they charged my card 100$ for no reason and when I call them the owner Jim told me to have a good life and hung up on me. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. DONT STAY HERE WHATEVER YOU DO. the bed was still dirty with a bunch of hairs before I even laid in it. Upon arrival we couldn't even get into the building. You either have to have a key or a code to enter. We tried pushing the button that apparently calls up to the office, however, we only got a busy signal. I also tried calling via phone and got only a busy signal. The only reason we got in the door was because another guest saw us and let us in. We were told rooms were not ready until 3:00 and it was only 1:00 at the time so we walked to have some lunch. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is the location. Once we got our rooms, we were less than pleased. The room with 2 beds smelled like old sweaty clothes. There was no room to walk around as the bed was one foot away from the door. Both rooms had small efficiencies. Not very updated. I am not sure where the pictures above came from. I can tell you I saw nothing in this hotel the resembled anything modern or nice. Also to note, this is a two story building. There are no elevators and there are also stairs to get into the building. If you are handicap, this is not the place for you. Check out time was strickly no later than 11:00. Apparently, they do not staff the hotel 24 hours as we couln't find anyone and the office was closed and dark at 11:00. They didn't even give us any sort of receipt for our stay. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in the Jacuzzi/Sweetheart Suite last week for the Maroon 5 concert. It is a quaint little hotel, in a great location... very close to the SoHo district -- there are so many bars and restaurants that are just walking distance away! It is a pretty secure hotel, because you must have your hotel key or be buzzed in by hotel management to get in the doors. Parking is adequate for the size of the hotel. They have EV (electric vehicle) parking as well. The actual room was small, but had a king sized bed, a small refrigerator, an iron and ironing board, coffee maker and etc, the bathroom was huge though... had an open walk-in shower and a Jacuzzi tub. My boyfriend and I agreed that when we return to Tampa, we would definitely stay here again. read more

Room size was about what I expected for the price. Could use some updating, but wasn't in too bad of shape. My main complaint was that the bedding in our room clearly had not been changed before our stay. There were make up marks and loose hairs all over the sheets. I had to use 2 lint roller sheets to get all the hair off them. The front desk hours are from 3-10 pm, so by the time we got back to the room for the night, and also the next morning when we left, there was no staff to complain to. So I waited until I got back home and I called travelocity to complain. The travelocity agent decided he wanted to connect me to the hotel so I could explain the issue to them. The hotel manager did not realize the I had been connected to the line and was in the middle of trash talking me. He was saying that we are the type of customers who eat a whole meal and then complain they want a refund afterwards. Not only is that extremely stupid and unprofessional, but also just not true! The room was cheap and I did not expect much, but I do expect clean sheets no matter where I stay! We would have complained directly to the hotel, but they had weird hours and were not there when we were! So the hotel manager finally said "Well what do you want me to do about it?!" I told him I would like at least a partial refund, which by this point I actually wanted all of my money back because I didn't want to support a business who doesn't appreciate their customers. Great price, nice staff, very clean. Keep in mind, it is small and the spaces are tight but it worked great for a single night. If you need a place to crash for a night or 2, this is perfect. Plus, it on the same block as a Winn-Dixie, it's walking distance to a bunch of bars in SoHo. Missed a star cause the towel hanger was basically lightly glued to the wall but it's exactly what I needed. Did I mention it's CLEAN?! Would definitely stay again. read more

If you're simply looking for an affordable place to crash, this will do. Our room had a king size mattress on a platform(no box spring). The mattress was extremely thin and very uncomfortable, also very very loud and squeaky. The room had a small kitchen with a pot, pan and some plates, neither of which we used. The bathroom was small and simple...I thought it was strange that there was still trash in the bathroom trash can upon check in, and also half empty bottles of soap on the bathroom sink and in the shower....thankfully we brought our own toiletries to did not need to use already used toiletries left for us. The website says the hotel offers easy 24 hours check in, but when we arrived 2 hours before our 2pm checkin the hotel was not able to accommodate us...totally understandable, but falsely advertised. The hotel is in a great location, you can walk to plenty of restaurants, bars and shops in the area. Overall our stay was fine, but I think next time I'll spend a little more and stay at a real hotel with a more comfortable bed. read more

I stay in this boutique hotel every time I come to Tampa. The staff is awesome and the location is right off of Howard where I want to be. Now that I live in Tampa I continue to use them for my guests to avoid crowding in my tiny apartment. It is like a family business. We even get a $5 dollar gift card to Panera for each night. read more

We just came home from a 4 night visit. Extremely satisfied with our stay. You won't get all the perks of a high end hotel but it was definitely worth the rates they charge. Very pleasant staff. Walking distance to many attractions. Rooms are smaller but beautiful and modern. Not meant for families but perfect for couples. We had a great experience and our next venture to Florida will definitely include staying here again. read more

You have to let them know if you arrive after 10PM because the office is closed until 2PM the next day. We were able to get a hold of Pierre who gave us easy instructions to access our room and made it pretty easy to check in. No frills, but a decent place for a night or two. It is interesting to see pictures of a beautiful room in what looks like a cool trendy hotel in a trendy part of Tampa. The hotel is actually tucked behind some new apartments with a lot that fills about 10 cars. We decided to stay there for my birthday, as we were coming from Orlando to dine at Bern's and I had a feeling no one would want to drive after the experience. We booked the hotel on a week before our stay and got conformation of our double bed room... When we got there they mad some sort of mistake and said, "oh we don't have anything available except a room with only one bed. " This room was tiny and there was no way 3 people could fit in the room. Their only advise was to tell us to go to the Epicurean and stay there for $300 a night... What?! I drove all the way to Tampa to find this out?! We ended up staying at a Hampton inn 12 miles away, I guess I am glad we did because this Motel was not even remotely close to as nice as the Hampton Inn was. read more

This place is a dump. Seriously. I would rate it on quality with a Motel 6. That said, the owner is very friendly as well as the staff. I paid $140 for a room for one night. The sheets and pillow cases had multiple hairs on them. The ironing board was filthy. The floors were not washed and sticky. It's just not a very clean spot. However, for those looking to stay for a week or so, you do have a fridge, stove and sink. Unfortunately, the perks meant nothing to me. The owner offered to change my sheets, but did not have another room for me. He was upset with his cleaning staff, but did not give me a discount. I like the area of town a lot, but the Hyde Park Hotel is too nasty for me. Also, there were no cups or glasses in the bathroom...annoying. read more

There beds are the absolute worst I've ever slept on. Hard as a rock. Your better off sleeping on the floor

This place is nothing fancy, but it gets the job done if you just want a place to crash for a night or two. It looks like all the furniture is mismatched and randomly selected at a garage sale. It seemed clean and had a small kitchenette, which is probably good for groups. read more
