Do not come here if you care about your safety. I came here, had a glass bottle thrown at me by another patron, had to go to the ER and then the club covered it up. It has been years and I still have the scar on my face from it. The club refused to cooperate with police (hand over security footage, which they have, or give the girls' identities) so I never got justice. read more

Since it wasn't extremely large crowd and was buffet style it took a lot of time to get through the line, but they were swift with refilling the entrees. Fun atmosphere, lackluster food. Will be fun if you are throwing a birthday party with loud vibes and cocktails like the champagne train. But for the pricing, the food just doesn't cut the mustard. The fact you need a promoter to get you in is absurd? I think men pay around $150/person and I went on a Thursday night. I swear, the people here are so strange and the vibe is so so so off. You're better off going to bars in Santa Monica or literally anywhere else other than sunset. Apparently people come here for dinner so that they can easily get into here when it gets crowded late at night. However, my friends and I came here around 7pm for a birthday celebration. VALET PARKING. Not sure how much it cost - I was super lucky and got street parking right by the restaurant (towing zone started at 10pm). Tapas style, so be prepared to spend $$$$ for small plates. We ordered quite a few items, but my favorite was the Fried Chicken sliders and the bone marrow. The sliders were served with bisquits rather than regular burger buns, which I loved! We ordered the brussel sprouts twice, so although I didn't eat any, it was a favorite among the group. Dessert and drinks were really good. We got some sort of chocolate cake and it was chocolate-y and moist. The atmosphere was very elegant. It was pretty empty around 7pm and started getting busy by the time we finished eating around 9:30pm. read more

Well, well, well... I don't have much to say about this place except the fact that it is overrated! I joined my friends and sister here for her birthday dinner and I was pleased by the modern dimly lit ambiance but completely disappointed with the cuisine. This is a restaurant that is linked to a club that starts around 10PM directly next door so you definitely get the Hollywood vibes upon arrival. There is valet parking available at an affordable price but if you decide to look for parking of your own, good luck. The drinks here are very tasty and pretty strong just like I like them. Nice and fresh... The staff here is very pleasant and welcoming and they SEEM to know the menu very well, however they overhype the quality and portion sizes. Our waitress described their Lobster Mac & Cheese to be big "family style" portions with "big chunks" of lobster... like a sucker I fell for it and was highly disappointed when the plate arrived at the table. Mind you, I'm with a party of 5 and we're expecting to share the dish which was enough for 1 person and that 1 person would still be left with a half empty stomach upon completion. We shared most of the plates here but to be honest I can't remember half of them. They were very mediocre at best. For the price they charge I expected a more extravagant meal that had at least a bit of flavor but I was let down. I would not recommend this place for their food but the drinks, maybe. read more

It's cute. No dance floor. Your best bet is to get a table here because that's literally what they've designed Hyde for... it is a grid of booths aka tables. The bar is basically NYC premium prices, yup expensive. However you do get your money's worth because they pour heavy. It's a good time here. I feel so old for saying this but the club scene has changed. There is still a Hollywood douche pretentious vibe but definitely less creeps and molester vibes. Also I love that women can wear over sized jean jackets and furs, pair it with pants and rub greasy glitter as a highlight and that is hot. There is a photo booth but really it's a boomerang booth. It's an incredibly slow and tedious interface and they really should consider making it a proper photo booth... in essence it looks a lot cooler than it actually is. Good concept but poorly executed. Came here to meet out-of-town friends two weeks ago. 7pm on a Tuesday night was pretty tame - we were probably one of three tables, although by the time we left at around 9:30pm, there were about a dozen or so tables occupied. Good: - nice, loungey space. The fire pit area was a hit with my NY friends. - decent wines by the glass (great that they have Barolo by the glass - though it costs $32) - nice people-watching - our server was really nice - the photo booth near the bathrooms are super fun Bad: - I knew going in the food wouldn't be great so just be warned. It looks like other people here on Yelp seem to agree with that remark, but it also seems like its a good way to get a table for the club before it opens to ensure you get in and can enjoy that scene after your meal. Our server was super friendly and attentive, but I was so disappointed with the s'mores desserts. Our table ordered two of them which came out at separate times, and after the first one I had hoped it was just a mistake. But the second one came out, and it was exactly the same. The marshmello was not even warm, nor was it soft when you broke it apart. So sad! The brussel sprouts were excellent and salmon was also good, I felt that it was a reasonable portion. Also I'm not sure if it was just me, but it seemed like their were a lot of (underage?) young people here. I'm 23, and they were just so so so young to be in a club. Although, there was definitely large age range and plenty of older people having fun too. Drinks were expensive, comparable to NYC if you're purchasing by the glass. Bottle service- expect to spend a minimum of $400 for bottle of spirts all the way to $10,000 (yep, you read that right) for a bottle of champagne. Dayum! I'd return for the club! read more

CAUTION!!! If you have expensive shoes, this is not the place for you. This place should come with a warning sign! Plank flooring with HUGE gaps in between. My shoes got stuck to the point where I literally had to take my foot out of my shoe as it was wedged into their floors on 4 separate occasions. Great upbeat restaurant/lounge! The food was great and the customer service was below average to average. Majority of the people working here are a little rude, but bearable. The drinks are really good here and are around $17 per drink. You must be ready to drop money here, at least $100 minimum on drinks, (depending on how much you drink). Run down. Over priced, not worth going to. I went to Hyde for dinner Saturday night. They had 2 servers for all of the tables and service was very slow. The meatballs were good but our entrees came out cold, all 3 girls who got chicken were served cold meals. When we told the server he asked if he should warm it up -- which like, what's worse cold chicken or hot dry chicken? Also the bathroom toilet was missing the top part and tapped over with plastic. For a restaurant that is supposed to be a nice place they really need to pull it together. read more

1 Star: HORRIBLE bouncers!! If you're a GUY, make sure you bring $100+ in case dishonest bouncers bribe you. It's the 2nd time I go in 2 years. This time, I'm in the clear, but my boyfriend and his male friends are not. This specific bouncer on Friday night was bribing the guys $100 EACH. My bf said this was not Vegas and asked for an ATM. No machines around. Finally the guys agreed on something with this bouncer, talked to "Vic" (Victor) and we went in. 5 Stars: Very good DJ and sound system is amazing! (That bass)!! Beautiful people. No dance floor.. you basically dance on fancy leather couches or on people's way to get around "the block" (central place where you have the booths and sofas) but it's no big deal; that's where everyone else is dancing, so it's fun! So I went to the Hyde Sunset last night 09/12/2019 And the visit was great, until I was leaving around 1am and I believe this a was very unprofessional act, for being a very prestigious, high end club, I thought maybe a drunk lady came outside in the parking lot,later i was told she is actually the General manager ther, Her name is Lisa Tilly. She was cursing at the valet there, and was very hysterical. I get it the night life is stressful but if there is problems, the first you should do is discreetly call the person over and address the problem. It's not good for the manager to be drinking (assuming she was drunk) and start screaming at everyone. Please keep the bottles away from this woman, so everyone can enjoy the night. read more

We were enjoy our bottle service when we were asked to all stand up. And as we did we were escorted out (after a big bar tab). I made a reservation at Hyde Sunset two weeks in advance for a date on a Saturday night. I reconfirmed the day before in response to an online confirmation. Then---at 2 pm on the very same day of my reservation---I got a call saying, "Sorry, we've canceled your reservation for a private event". I asked, "when did you learn of this private event, why did you take so long in letting me know, and where am i going to get a dinner reservation on short notice on a Saturday night, 5 hours from now?!" They had no answers. They offered me free champagne when i reschedule----but trust me, if they threw me to the curb on short notice once, they'll do it again. Won't ever eat here. Food here is very mediocre. The truffle risotto was decent, but the brussel sprouts were amazing. Their ahi tuna and the mozzarella salad were items that I honestly could easily make at home. Ahi tuna did not taste fresh and the salad was not very appetizing either. Maybe if I'm feeling desperate, I would come back for the brussel sprouts. Valet also costs $20.. Love the kitchen + cocktails portion of Hyde, they have OUTSTANDING service, and truly make you feel like a VIP. Having to deduct 1 star for the club portion though. The bouncers are truly out of hand here and have sexually harassed a group of ladies I brought here.
