Todd Wright, the owner sat and hung out with us and helped us find the perfect sticks. The locals who were part of the club were so welcoming and social. Came in to buy and surprise my husband with a couple of cigars while he was at a golf seminar. Gentleman who helped me was professional and personable. Gave me tips on how to pick a cigar and even cut the two I bought since my husband and I were vacationing and I didn't have a cutter. Unfortunately I hate leaving bad reviews, however this is a must. I was in there on Saturday to buy a can of butane refill. Normally I go to a different shop to buy my supplies, however, I was in the area and needed butane. The can I bought was made by Jetline butane 5X refined. This can is normally $6.99 everywhere in the state of California. The clerk charged me $16.23 and when I asked for a receipt , he implied he was out of cash register tape. He blatantly over charged me and when I questioned him about the price, he said, " THAT IS THE COST". I hope this was not the owner, I can't imagine it was after reading the reviews.. However, I will be filing a complaint with the local district attorney for targeting and profiling visitors and guest to the dessert and triple charging them. This purchase was made between 6-7 pm on Saturday the 29 th of July in case the owner wants to know which employee caused this review and a sure call from the district attorney and BBB. I forgot to mention that the clerk new I was not a resident of La Quinta, because he asked me several questions before I made the purchase. For example, he asked me where I was visiting from? Am I enjoying my stay?. All thing I thought were friendly and benign, however looking back on the conversation, it sure appears as if this is common practice knowing a tourist won't complain. Well I hope you get caught and fined for this despicable behavior. Targeting and profiling in retail sales is a state and federal crime. This behavior can also be construed as " price gauging". This practice is also illegal. We will see how the local DA handles the case. It's all on camera I assume. read more

He promptly asked me what I was looking for and immediately proceeded to recommend various cigars (I lean towards the flavored kind). Once I selected his recommendation he invited me to smoke it inside the member's lounge. The place was amazing and the people inside were friendly and welcoming.
