The views are gorgeous and the food is delicious, but the service was meh. We had a reservation for 7 pm on Saturday evening and we were seated right away. The first problem was that we were seating outside just as a brief windstorm came through and was blowing dust, leaves, our hair and dresses all over the place. Not the restaurant's fault, they can't control nature. We asked if we could be seated inside and they were very accommodating. We were seated near the entrance in a small enclave where unfortunately a rather loud family of intoxicated adults and uncontrolled little ones were seated. The little ones were running around and under the tables, playing tag while the drunk grandmother talked or rather yelled to be heard over the children. Our waiter greeted us with an unfriendly hello; as if we were just adding to the noise of his section. He took our order and approximately an HOUR later our food arrived. He never came to check on us or clear the salad plates...if the food wasn't so good, we would have left.

Always an excellent experience! Juan is amazing. Attentive, engaging and just made it a great experience. The food is always excellent. I ordered a Sunset meal- salmon salad. I was expecting a smaller portion but omgoodness it was huge. We have been in the bar and the patio. This time we were in the dining room. Another lovely venue. Ample self parking or complimentary valet parking. Fun to take the stairs to the second level or there is an elevator available. It's such a great venue. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful atmosphere and setting. We were so excited when we arrived. Food was just so so. Steak and fish were mediocre quality and steak was actually chewy. Think this is probably a better happy hour spot for a sandwich than the fine dining - that would be a more fun night out.

Came back to Cliffhouse and received excellent service from Susie. I made reservations for when they opened and I recommend this as this place does get busy, especially during the happy hour time. Happy Hour is 3:30-6 and there's a few dollar discount on selected food items and drinks. For appetizers, we ordered the Burrata platter and the dates. We also ordered a date burger and the following martinis: pear, pink lady, and espresso martini. This was my first time trying an espresso martini (ever) and I'm glad I waited until the end of dinner before ordering it. It's more a dessert or finishing drink. The Burrata platter was delicious and beautifully presented. The dates were good but too sweet for our tastes (yes, we are aware dates are naturally sweet, LOL). We only ate a few and saved the rest for later. The date burger and fries were delicious. The only downside was I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it was well done. The drinks were good and beautifully presented. The ambiance and atmosphere, for this restaurant, is very upscale and unique. I will continue visiting each time I'm in La Quinta. See you soon!

Found this place on Yelp as I was staying at the Renaissance nearby. Sat inside at the bar for a bite and drink. BEST pepperoni flatbread I've ever had! Crispy with lots of pepperoni. Sooo good. Had a couple of cocktails - they are strong so you will get your money's worth. Service was very attentive. Next time will sit outside as the patio is lovely.

Always get the steak!! Great service, food was good too! The outside is S T U N N I N G! Yet inside I feel like could use some work to get on par...A bit boring and old school and plain. Will be back, but I need to go back to the steak!

Our first time here, I researched this restaurant for our road trip and knew I wanted to come, absolutely no regrets! The food was absolutely delicious, I savored every bite! Our waiter, Matthew, was outstanding, thank you for the recommendations and making our dinner experience, enjoyable and memorable! The customer service from the host to the moment we left - Outstanding!!!! Looking forward to another road trip and coming back here for another delicious meal! Private parking lot with complementary valet parking.

The La Quinta cliff house has some of the worst waitstaff I've experienced. But other than that the steak has a very nice rich and creamy taste. But overall the building itself feels very clean and well maintained.

Wonderful service and attention to detail! Make a reservation especially if celebrating a special occasion. We got a nice table next to the waterfall. Incredible pork ribs - melt in your mouth and super flavorful. The seafood ceviche was also surprisingly yummy - the sauce they created was perfect and the best part!! Salmon was good - flaky and had a unique smoky flavor. I would definitely get the chocolate mousse again - light, airy, fun consistency and it reminded me of European chocolate.

First time here! The pasta with meat was very fresh, savory, cheesy, flavorful, and delicious. Also, the calamari was super tasty, crunchy, salty, crispy, and perfectly served with a sweet, refreshing strawberry lemonade. Good service, nice atmosphere, and I had an excellent experience today. I especially love sitting next to the waterfall with the mountain goat statue.

Not so Yummy Key Lime Pie!

Hit and miss. The steak and scallops were amazing. The bartender was friendly. The Greeter actually looked like she just got out of bed. We arrived at 8:45pm not realizing the kitchen closed at 9pm (website shows 11pm closing time.) We were "allowed" to order but were super rushed. We were finished eating with our dessert to go (which sadly was the worst key lime pie ever) by 9:20pm. Probably will give it a second chance and plan an earlier dinner next time??

Where the 111 passes between two rocks, they built this restaurant on one rock. Ate upstairs, outdoors, under a heat lamp and close to the rock. Had the small-plate salmon and a very tender small-plate beef short rib. Both dishes had great presentation and were very tasty!

Our first date, need to wear beautiful dress. Is that appropriate here?

100% appropriate! Very relaxed environment with outstanding service & vibes. Not a strict dress code. Make sure you talk to one of the managers her name is Katrina and a server named Taylor if they're working. Great women who care about your…

Is the sunset dinner offered later currently (June)?

Our Sunset Dinners are offered year round from 3:30-5:00PM

What is the name of the executive Chef?

    Chef Jeremy!

    Early bird dinner?

We offer Sunset Dinners everyday from 3:30-5:00. This includes 2 courses for $27

I would, love to visit but want to confirm you can accommodate a quadriplegic in a powerwheelchair chair?

I think so, they have an elevator up to the restaurant from the valet area. I'd call to confirm though.

Will be visiting La Quinta this spring on a family vacation. Is the Cliff House pet friendly?

    Service animals only.

I noticed from a previous question/answer that the corkage fee was $15 in 2018. Is that still the cost?

think it is now 25 but best to check

    Is there happy hour?

    3:30-5 I believe

How do I make a reservation using Yelp?

I made a reservation with Open Table.

Is it ADA/wheelchair accessible? If so, ramp or elevator?

    Yes. Elevator available.

Is the patio area first come first serve or can I make a request for seating outside?

The BAR area patio is first come, first served. If you make a reservation for the restaurant, you can ask to be seated outside, but it is NOT on the BAR area patio, it is a separate restaurant patio.....hope this helps.

Can I make a reservation for a special romantic dinner for my boyfriend and I celebrating our 4th yr. anniversary?

Sure. You can do it over the phone or through Open Table online. They don't take reservations in the bar area or on the patio, but you'll be fine if you want the dining room.

    Is reservation needed?

No, but I would recommend one. The bar is not a bad place to dine, and there are plenty of seats.

Will there be a special Valentine's Day Menu? My husband and I have a reservation. It will be our first time and I'm so excited.

Probably as they usually do a price fix menu for xmas and thanksgiving. Why not give them a call and ask.

Is happy hour only in the bar? Or can you sit outside as well?

There is a Bar inside, and a Bar patio outside, pretty sure you can get the Bar menu, Sunset Menu and Happy Hour outside if you sit in the Bar patio. There is a separate patio that is not part of the bar.....

Do they offer corkage if so how much?

    I believe it was $25.

    What hours are happy hour?

3:30 -close all night long through September.

We came in to Italica wanting pasta the Bolognese with wild boar/fennel sausage arrived practically overflowing from the bowl, easily could have served 2 or possibly an appetizer to share at the table. Mid meal we ordered the prosciutto ~ fig jam flatbread just perfection the jam adding sweetness in every crunchy bite. Sugar Snap Pea pizza: unexpected flavors with snap peas, mushrooms, & stracciatella. Table was divided on whether this worked. Cacio e Pepe: this version uses bucatini and is a little creamier than the classic. I ate it all regardless. Grilled Avocado: the name ignores that it includes fried artichokes as well.
