Very authentic tasting Indian food. First time here . Take out but still great service. Ordered 3 dishes and all were tasty.

Ordered here on new years eve ... curry leaf chicken was good, but their chicken majestic was excellent. Chicken mughalai was below par, not very creamy at all compared to their locations in TX. Would definitely go again. read more

Its weird that this place has such bad reviews. I have had good experience every time I have eaten here. May be it is to do with the fact that the food here is too authentic and really spicy, which I like. First it is a typical south indian restaurant ( eat their biryanis, dosa, idli, fish fry, mutton curry). They have a few north indian dishes on their menu (pao bhaji, chola bhatura, butter chicken etc) but I would not eat those, coz you can't really expect a south indian restaurant to have great north indian food. They have unlimited dosa night every Thursday which is pretty neat. They have four or five varieties of dosas. I have had a few of their indo chinese dishes, they are pretty yum too. I have never had their buffet, so cant comment, and looks like most bad reviews are for the buffet. If your are new to Indian food, these are my fav dishes at hyderabad house: masala dosa (indian crepe stuffed with potatoes: what can go wrong lol), idli with gunpowder masala, mutton curry (goat meat: caution: its very very hot), chicken biryani, mutton biryani, gobhi pepper fry, and not to forget their veggie and chicken patties (puffed pastries filled with meat/ veggies/ potatoes). I think I am going to order take out from Hyderabad house now, coz writing this review definitely made me super hungry!!!!! read more

Buffet fail.. I tried for the third time to try and enjoy Indian food. I can't get into it. It's all just different colors of slop to me. Green slop, yellow slop, orange slop, white slop. Am I missing something here? The seasonings all ran together any nothing connected very well. I couldn't even get into the rice. There are like 4 different kinds of cooked rice, all different colors, an they all tasted the same but different. As for service, I was brought water and that was it; I went to the counter and paid. No thank you, no come again.. and it was $14 for a buffet full of crap. I could have gone to Wangs for a decent Chinese buffet and ordered soup for $8! read more

I was in town for work and was in the mood for some spicy Indian food so gave this place a try. I went in hoping to order the Goat Biryani but to my surprise it wasn't available on Mondays. Slightly strange but I was very hungry so I continued to glance through the menu for other options. After a few more minutes of looking I settled on the tandoori chicken and Chicken Biryani. The tandoori chicken was very good and had a good amount of spice. The Biryani was overall good but lacked on the chicken and spice. Lastly the service at this place wasn't the best. read more

This is a new Indian restaurant. When we called in to order they had just begun the restaurant about few days ago and had just few items. We were not disappointed because whatever we ordered were par excellence. One has to come here for authentic Andhra cuisine so one has to mention the spice level. We ordered from here twice and both the times it was great treat. We ordered vegetarian dishes from onion pakodas(yummy ), pepper baby corn, egg biriyani the first time and second we went on for the North Indian dishes with paneer kairaikudi !!! Food-3.5/5 very hot, spicy food..the weak-hearted must request for the mildest variant! And don't count calories- keep that aside before you walk in. Enjoyed the flavors and taste though! Big portions us the first thing you need to know. One byryani could feed four people. So order with that in mind. Second is that spice level is high in this place. So be careful for those that are sensitive to spicy food. read more

I definitely think it deserves 3+ stars because the food was fresh and the service was good. Personally I am not too familiar with Indian cuisine so I tried a little bit of everything. They definitely had plenty of options but none of the labels for the lunch buffet had descriptions. If spicy is a concern for you, simply smelling a dish will give you a good gauge. Overall, the butter chicken was the best! All of the rice dishes were very good and the chic pea dish was great as well. Had a solid experience with a reasonable price for the lunch buffet at around $10.90. read more

Delicious butter chicken. They deliver through Bite Squad (I'd prefer if they'd use Ubereats, but it is what it is). My only complaint is that the naan can be a bit hit or miss, but part of the issue there is that I'm eating it via delivery. Likely better fresh. Curry Bowl is another good local alternative, but they don't offer delivery. Hyderabad gets most of my business. Now, if they would just offer an extra sized version of the butter chicken, I'd be set. The portion is about what you would expect, but I can eat a bit more than that... just not enough to justify buying two servings! read more

The worst indian food I have ever eaten! The quality of their food has gone down ever since the new management took over. What a waste of money... the chicken tikka tasted like the rear of chicken and the chicken vijayvada biryani was tasteless. Stay away from this place. read more

This pace is horrible. I've been there twice because it is close to work and quick. One time I saw a roach (luckily while I was paying up front) and the second time I got 0 service. The food is average at best, the service is horrible or none existent, and for an afternoon buffet the selection is very limited (chicken is the only lunch time protein). I had the buffet at 1 PM on a weekday. They really just had one job: refill my water. Twice I had to get up from my seat and find someone to refill it. The water was room temperature, not chilled. No ice. Most of the foods on the buffet tasted very similar, to the point some were in distinguishable from others except by texture. They seem to use the same seasonings in just about every dish. There aren't enough items on the buffet that lack heat, either. Everything except the naan-bread and the yogurt rice is spicy. And the yogurt rice wasn't even fully cooked. I kept getting crunchy bits of uncooked rice stuck between my teeth. The biryani was a disappointment. I have had biryani at several other Indian restaurants, and it's my favorite Indian dish. But not here. The tandoori chicken was about the only food I was able to eat much of, But I wouldn't call it outstanding. It was just typical tandoori chicken. I will not be returning. read more

Visited recently for the lunch buffet while teaching a course to FedEx employees at the Collierville Tech Center and was deliciously impressed. The spread was impressive- dozens of dishes including some that were new to me, and I've been an avid Indian/Pakistani buffet-goer for two decades. The foods were complimentary and also diverse- anyone would find more than enough options to suit their individual tastes, with enough variety to keep them coming back. They claim biryani as their specialty, and as big-time fan of this rice-based dish, I was happy to put them to the test. The goat biryani didn't disappoint, with huge, well-seasoned chunks of goat falling apart into moist, tender shreds as you forked into the fluffy rice grains. I'm eager for my next visit, to see what new discoveries I can make. read more

The non veg thali is very very good, however the service is garbage. That being said the food is definitely good enough for me to come back even though the service is bad (I am not as salty as most people are for bad service). The thali usually comes with a bowl of chicken biryani, 2 non veg items, 2 veg items, 2 biryani related sauces (that are bad compared to sai gruhas fast foods) and a dessert. The pastries here are really damn good and are probably the best I've had in Memphis. The main downside to this place is the cluelessness of the servers. They are daunted by simple tasks like asking if you would like a refill for one of the thali items or if you need more water. read more

It's not even worth one star. So I was at this place for dinner and we were asked by three servers about seating. I (9 months pregnant) was there with my 2 year old and my husband. A server came in (after a long wait) and took us to a table, however people at our neighboring table said we need extra chairs and so we were sent back to waiting. Another server came in and said it will take 5 more mins, we were fine with it until a family who came after us got seating before us because the guy had a good contact with one of the server. As it was getting late we decided to get food to go and asked for the menu, the server passed by thrice and never cared to get the menu. We had to leave the restaurant and go eat some where else as it was really late. What should a person do to get seated in this restaurant? Probably pay off the servers (bribe them) or have a good contact just to get a table. I am new to this place and definitely Never going to this restaurant again. read more

The name Hyderabad is city in India.. but the food they are serving is not authentic.. it's just overpriced and serving microwave food .. there is no authentic in it.. I ordered haleem they just severed in a very extremely small container which was overpriced and it not authentic... I am a Indian foodie.. Awesome food with a new, but familiar, owner - Mr. Reddy. Mr. Reddy was the original founder and owner of the Indian restaurant Curry Bowl. He left Memphis to start Indian restaurants in other US cities, including Sacramento, San Antonio, Orlando, and his wife is currently an owner/manager of a restaurant in Atlanta. All of the restaurants he started in those cities were wildly successful, but thankfully for us, he missed Memphis. So he returned and with him that same fire for simply creating high quality food for all customers. You will frequently see him bringing out fresh food because he runs the restaurant by the action of hard work including cooking and anything else required, so that people will enjoy every experience at his restaurant. While all of those qualities are of course great to see, if the food is not up to par, those qualities are less important to us as consumers. This is where Mr. Reddy's enormous library of Indian Culinary Knowledge puts his Indian restaurants at the forefront of being some of the most successful in recent Memphis history. Just give it one try, you will be back. This restaurant is getting busier by the week just by word of mouth. My family and/or I eat here every Sunday. We even order extra to take a few containers of our favorite dishes that day to go. You too can take buffets-to-go, which can be a happy alternative if you are unable to enjoy the buffet while dining in. Either way, your palate will thank you and your hunger will be satisfied. A way I grade the quality of an Indian food meal, is by the quality of nap it induces after consuming. This is really tasty Indian food in the burbs of Memphis. I ordered chicken saag. Immediately when it came out you could tell by the color of the saag it looked fresh. The chicken was tender. Spice was a little mild for the medium that I ordered though. Overall very tasty. read more

The last 3 times we have gone in for dinner, the service has been dreadful. This evening after waiting for 15 minutes and asking twice for someone to take our order, we ended up leaving and going somewhere else to eat. It is so disappointing. The service priority seems to be: first, the orders coming in over the phone, followed by people walking in and placing to go orders, then those picking up to go orders and then, finally, those in the restaurant. We weren't the only ones who walked out this evening. I have enjoyed the food when I do receive service. It's Friday night, please have enough staff on hand to handle all of your types of service and don't shirk those who are sitting right in front of you for those on the phone. read more

Waiter kept bringing out room temperature water. I probably asked for ice 4 times throughout my meal. The waiter kept going to a table with friends and sitting down and neglecting his tables. They were watching a movie the entire time while we were trying to get their attention. The food was below par, I recommend going someplace else read more

I have been there 5 times. 3 times they had worst service. All three times they misplaced my order and delayed 45 minutes. So, if you order food expect atleast 45mins wait time. After my office hours regularly i used to come to this restuarent and having snacks, during evening times hyd house is the only place you can have delicious food with dosa nit during thursdays. It is a Southern Indian buffet and it is hard to find one, because most of the Indian restaurants are serving Northern Indian food. The food is spicier than that of the northern Indian food. Good and friendly service. You will not regret spending money for this fine Southern Indian food. read more
