This meal cost me around $22, they charge an extra fee to warm it up for you which I thought was rather odd, but hey times are hard for small businesses. Traveling for work, I often try to find a hidden jewel in a city. Well, Memphis clearly knows locally what they have. I must admit I was a bit skeptical when reading all the reviews, could Julles really live up to it. I'm happy to say that yes, Julles is all that. The menu offers many healthy choices. The only downside for me was I had to do takeout versus dine in as they are only open for dinner on Thursday-Saturday. However, it didn't diminish the food experience. Despite the healthy choices being under 500 calories, they are full of flavor and you won't go away hungry. I opted for the steak Thai salad and the Veracruz grouper dinner. I couldn't finish it all, too much food, but I was glad I was able to experience a couple of dishes. The thai steak salad wasn't too spicy, don't be scared off by it. Perfect flavoring and the beef was excellent. The grouper was very well done, the flavorful sauce mixed nicely with the rice and vegetables. Very good hidden gem off Poplar in east Memphis. I've eaten here a couple times and the food taste very fresh and the service is great. I really like the fact that all the meals are very healthy and they do not use any additives or preservatives. One of my favorites is the Veracruz Grouper. The gentleman asked if I would like to make a reservation, which turned out to be humorous as my lunch partner and I were the only diners from 11:45 to 1:15. The food was good for a short lunch and carry out for sure, which is their niche. The food options indeed seemed fresh, clean, and balanced compared to their neighbors. However, as a restaurant servicing lunch and dinner, I felt there was more to be desired. Maybe it was the empty atmosphere, quiet and aromatically void kitchen, or packaged food everywhere...it felt like a really nice deli or...a gourmet meal prep store! Our meals, meatballs in spaghetti squash and mushroom gravy over flank steak with veggies,. had good flavor but strangely temped leaving the feeling that nothing was fresh, made-to-order but rather pre-made then warmed up. Perhaps their salads are better? l feel the food quality and price did not add up. $14.00 for a lunch plate and $17.00 for a dinner plate. The little restaurant is so adorable with clean lines and a very simple design which makes you feel healthier just by being among such a clean looking space. While here I ordered the lamb.... Which was to die for!!!! It came with an amazing risotto too! My boyfriend ordered a steak to be cooked rare, which they did over cook. This can be a difficult task for some places so I don't look to heavy on it. It's honestly not a place I'd look to for steak anyhow. We tried several dessert, all of which were amazing. They were both well prepared and attractively presented and substitutions based on my diet weren't considered unreasonable. The date truffle with cashew butter had no added sugar and was a delicious little morsel for dessert that almost felt like a cheat.
