Basmati rice. Fluffy and separate grains, as it should be. Perfectly prepared and fresh.

Hyderabad House is a new Indian restaurant in Greenwood. We had lunch here on a Monday, a little after 1 pm. We were the only patrons during the entire time we were there. That was fine with me. Our waiter was a very nice, polite young man and the service he gave us was great. There was contemporary Indian music playing in the restaurant - some people might have thought it was a bit too loud, but we enjoyed it. I ordered butter chicken for myself and shrimp vindaloo for my husband. The waiter asked us what spice level we wanted and I requested mild. My husband asked for spicy, and that is what he got. We also got two orders of butter naan. The entrees came with basmati rice on the side. The butter chicken was OUTSTANDING. The spice level was perfect. The basmati rice was very much to my liking - fluffy, separate grains of rice without spices in it (the food had enough spice in it). The naan bread was freshly-baked and delicious. This is probably the best Indian food I've ever had in Indiana. My husband had to take breaks as he was eating his vindaloo because it really was hot, but that was how he wanted it. He asked me to try it but I passed because I don't like much spice and I'm not crazy about vindaloo no matter what the spice level. He said it was excellent vindaloo and he ate it all. When it came time to pay the check I asked for some to-go boxes and a mango lassi to go. The waiter was very kind and accommodating and I got my lassi and my food boxed up to take home. The mango lassi was thick and very flavorful and delicious, a perfect ending to the meal. I was glad of the convenience of being able to pay the check by scanning a QR code on my phone. The bill was about what I expected, roughly $60 with tip. We may not be able to eat here all time, but now and again, when splurging a little, this will definitely be one of our go-to places.

The restaurant was clean. They had a vegan menu which was great. It was pricey but it was yummy. I didn't know that my food came with tofu until I bit into it. I also opted for the garlic Naan.

This restaurant was recommended by a family member so we decided to check them out. The customer service was good, but had to ask for glasses and more water bottles because there were four of us. Order: Gobi Manchurian Chicken 65 - South Indian style so a bit creamy Malai kofta - gravy was decent Paneer butter masala Veg dump biryani We asked for the food to be spicy and it wasn't spicy or flavorful. Each dish was lacking spices and taste in some way. The biryani was very spicy. We left very disappointed and didn't finish all the food. I would not go back but wish them all the best!

I was excited to see a new Indian place when I got to Kroger yesterday. I mentioned it in to my husband for dinner and we decided to get carryout because it was almost 9:00 pm and they close at 10:00 pm on weeknights. Their menu is extensive and I really wanted to try something different like the dosa but I would like to dine in and be able to ask questions about the unfamiliar dishes. We stuck with our usual order of butter chicken, navratan veg korma, veg samosas, and garlic naan. We ordered both dishes medium. When we pulled up, we saw an ice cream shop connected to the restaurant, so we stopped in to try it out while waiting for our order. They had a lot of options but I didn't really care for the ones I tired. Maybe next time I will try more. We got home with our food and couldn't wait to dive in. The butter chicken looked good although it was breast meat and kinda dry (it's usually tandoori thigh meat) and the veg korma was more paneer than vegetables which I don't personally care for. Both dishes lacked spice and flavor and were mild at best. We both agreed we'd give it a 6/10. We wouldn't go out of our way to try it again but it wasn't terrible. The bill was $42 and the portion sizes were pretty small for the price. Overall we were kinda disappointed. I read a lot of reviews of their other locations before ordering and the food we got was pretty much in line with those reviews. I had hoped this location was going to be better than those but I have to agree with them.

This new south side location of HYDERABAD HOUSE is a wonderful addition to the great choices of worldly tastes in the Greenwood area. The restaurant is in a beautiful new building with its sister "sweet shoppe" KWALITY adjoining it. The menu is a vast array of traditional Indian cuisine. It is difficult to choose what dish to sample. Definitely, try several items. I started with the Indian Hot and Sour Chicken soup. This hearty bowl could be a meal in itself. It is a concoction of fresh vegetables and chicken in an amazing broth. THIS IS BY FAR IS THE VERY BEST SOUP I HAVE EVER TASTED. The flavor is superb with each spoonful tempting you take another. I would suggest you order your NAAN with the soup for dipping in the broth. And yes, do not have a meal without the Naan. I chose the GARLIC NAAN from the wide variety of naan offered. It is four huge pieces of crispy heaven. It complemented the meal very well. I chose the BUTTER CHICKEN MASALA as my entree. It comes out in a large bowl with an accompanying bowl of rice. Again, one of the best flavored masala I have ever had in the city. The service is excellent and they are happy to describe the different choices available on the menu. They offer a wide variety of Indian beers and wines and bourbon. One must end the meal with a few steps to the restaurant's sweet shoppe adjacent for some ice cream, shakes citrus dessert cakes. I had a new favorite flavor of FIG & WALNUT ICE CREAM. They are happy to let you sample the many unique flavors they offer before you chose. It's always wise to take one or two of the amazing delicious dessert cakes home. YELPERS, You owe yourself the pleasure of HYDERABAD HOUSE.

This is the 3 Rd restaurant that they have opened around central Indiana and they have maintained their taste throughout all their restaurants. However, I don't know if the first one, which was super small is still open or not. They have lots of vegetarian options and some.vegan options too. They are family friendly and business casual too. They have an attached ice cream parlor where you can pick up ice cream and indian snacks too. Their customer service is great. They check on you and explain the menu as well. The only downfall is that when you ask for a mild option, we felt the salt was a little overpowering. But otherwise the taste is delicious. They have parking in front of them and they are located in this type of strip mall where other restaurants are located too. This is a definite visit.

We decided to meet friends here for a late lunch as we had tried Kwality ice cream store next door several times and still had not visited the Indian restaurant next door yet. We were got a friendly greeting at the door and were seated promptly. They had a very wide variety of menu items available and a few other items that are only available from Friday to Sunday as that is their busiest days. I started with the hot and sour soup that was vegetarian and followed it freshly baked garlic naan that was amazing. I think I could eat their naan every day. They soup was hot and so fresh. I would for sure order it again. Water is served bottled at the table but they also offered soft drinks, beer, and wine. The wine goes extremely well with the entree I selected. I got the paneer butter masala with tofu. The serving was easily enough for two people and came with a side of basmati rice. The flavors were amazing. You could place an order for the amount of spices that you wanted to order. I got medium and that was perfect. After looking at the ice cream and dessert menu next door while eating I just had to go next door and get dessert. They offered many exotic flavors and some regular flavors. I had to sample several flavors and settled on rose petals which was light and tasty. You should really give both places a try and you won't be disappointed. Parking is plentiful on a weekday. Not sure about the weekend but think there would still be a lot of spaces.

Side of chana curry is same as with Chhole bhature. Liked the crispness of kulcha. Will give one more try before I decide a yay or nay for this. Aloo Parantha - what its supposed to be, the only item the way it should be in our order. Soft, flavorful and filling. 9/10 I had much higher expectations from this place. We walked into the restaurant which is to the side and a bright and open space. There aren't a ton of tables so it looks more like a spot for a quick bite or quick food while or after shopping. The menu is extensive and much of it was unknown to us. However the server graciously gave us suggestions and then would show us photos on her phone so we could imagine the dish. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and we orders two appetizers and two Main Street food options and had plenty for three with leftovers! The appetizer was very tasty with paneer and spinach baked into a flavorful dough. The special burger my husband devoured and even said he would get it again for sure! They do not have chicken or meat on the menu but are all vegetarian, but you don't miss the meat at all! For us who eat mostly veggie or plant bars it was delightful to be able to order anything and know it was primarily made in house veggie based! Our dishes had five curries to try which we loved, but do note there is no spice option. They come as they come, so for those not enjoying much spice make sure to ask which options are milder. Ours came with yogurts and dips which cooled things down considerably, plus they have lassis which are great for cooling the tongue. We are already planning to go back and loved it! A very different fee than other spots and a more street food feel from the Panjab. Delicious!

There was a very small wait till my turn came. Chhole Bhature was an already decided on and for second choice combo thali was recommended by the employee. In my opinion; Chhole Bhature - not impressed at all. Bhature didn't have enough fermentation and very over fried (see how red they look in pic). For Chhole, taste could have been more bold. Glad to see raita and onions on the side with it. Combo thali- choose this if you are sharing it. Otherwise too much food for one person or make 2 meals out of it. I had picked dal makhani, mix veg, saag and butter naan from the options. Dal makhani was pretty good although I was expecting more of dhaba style taste, don't know why. Mix veg tasted like home cooked sabzi. So neither good neither wow. Saag was perfection to me. (Leftover saag tasted even better haha) Butter naan - loved how it was soft yet crispy and that it didn't get chewy when it got cold. Loved the raita, jeera rice was well cooked, quantity of salad and achar was delicious. Dessert- got Gulab Jamun which was freezing cold and hard as rock. Tasted a tiny bit and that was that. All in all- it was a hit and miss experience. But I would to give them second chance

I recommend trying something aside from the typical tikka masala or butter chicken, if that's all you've had as far as curries go, unless you want to give them a try on a pizza. The Chicken Karahi is something to behold. The saag of any type are amazing. But what I can't get enough of is the Chicken Doner/Shawarma, it's like shawarma if shawarma was made with chicken tandoori. Fantastic. The lamb doner is wonderful too, after all it's the namesake! It had been a while since I last ordered, and today I was craving chicken tikka masala. I placed my usual order, and saying I was disappointed would be an understatement. The plain naan bread was unusually greasy. After being disappointed by the salad and bread, I do not know why I was surprised when the main dish was lacking as well and tasted nothing like my previous orders. DoorDash still lists the restaurant as Spicy Doner, but Yelp now shows the restaurant name as Punjabi. I can only assume the restaurant is under new management due to the name change and the dramatic decline in quality. Hopefully, I can find an alternative restaurant soon because I will not be ordering from here again.

I really wanted to try something mixed, but the worker said it was mostly either or. I really thought there would be more fusion options, but on the menu - the left side was Indian dishes and the right side was Mexican dishes. We did order a chicken tikka taco (sort of Indian/mexican infused) and then decided on butter chicken in medium. For the taco, you can get corn or flour tortilla and we forgot to specify, but thankfully it came out on corn. The butter chicken came with rice and naan (I forgot to ask if I could make it garlic naan) so it comes with regular. For a drink, I got the mango lassi which is like a mango smoothie with yogurt and milk, and he got a mango jarrrito. Our meal came up to about $30, and we decided to dine in. I got my mango lassi very quickly, it was really smooth and creamy texture, very milky mango tasting. I liked it, but my husband didn't care for it. The jarrito has a bottle cap, and on the wall, there is a bottle opener. I didn't even notice it but my husband did, it's unique and convenient. It took about 15ish mins or so to get our food, we like that it's made fresh and was brought to our table. He gave us extra plates as we were sharing our order. The tikka taco was bland, didn't really have much flavor. He gave us two sauces, one green and one red (he said the red is spicy) and even with that it was just ok. It was however very filled. The regular naan was good, especially when I dipped it in the butter chicken sauce. As for the butter chicken, it was decent. We got it in medium spice and it wasn't very spicy to me. The rice paired well with the butter chicken. The food was enough for both of us to share and be full, plus we had leftovers. The inside was quiet, it wasn't busy when we came.
