    Non veg Tandoori Platter
    Krishna P.

Major eye roll when someone says "this is the best Indian restaurant" ...no...THIS! Chaska is the BEST Indian restaurant in Indianapolis right now. From the interior design, to the service, to the food...the food is outstanding!! From the non veg appetizer platter, to the crispy but soft naan, the tender meat in the butter chicken. You will not disappointed!

Only thing odd about this place is that it wasn't absolutely packed with people. We were greeted immediately and sat down immediately. The place smelled wonderful and clean. The decorations really set the tone for the restaurant. You have a choice of sitting at a regular table or one that is lowered to the ground and we opted for the one that was lowered to the ground. You could sit on cushions. We ordered the Samosa.... Fabulous!! we also ordered chicken tika masala and panner tika masala. I don't think you can go wrong with any dish here. The portions were big and we left with boxes. So glad to discover a local Indian place that is authentic. Thanks!

Food was delicious! Full of flavor. Very vegetarian friendly which is always a plus. Authentic atmosphere. The staff was so attentive and kind! Will be coming back.

Mattar Paneer Aloo Tikki Lamb Kadhai Chicken Biryani Naan

Let me tell you -- this food is PACKED with flavor. So many complex spices and absolutely delicious!! The mattar paneer is always my favorite, and it definitely didn't disappoint tonight either. I haven't really had many Indian lamb dishes before, but the lamb kadhai was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. We probably wouldn't do the sampler again as an appetizer, but we wanted to try it. That said, the aloo tikki chaat was superb! The chicken biryani was also really good, though it was a little outshined by the lamb and paneer. Can't wait to try it in person next time (we used Grubhub). We also had no clue what all the sauces and veggies were for and definitely needed instructions You should absolutely give this place a try!

My husband and I often mentioned how much we wished we had an Indian restaurant in Greenfield, so we were delighted to hear this place opened. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. The food was incredible, the heat levels were perfect. Our waitress recommended mango lemonade and lychee fizz and both of the drinks were delicious. The staff was also incredibly friendly and professional. The decor was beautiful. Highly recommend this place. It's also on my commute on the way home so it will be dangerous for me especially haha.

If you are reading reviews, ignore older ones as they may apply to an earlier restaurant. I ordered take-out using an online app. Ordering was easy and the food was ready when I arrived. We started with the appetizer platter. Some were better than others, but the point of getting the platter was to see what we liked best. We shared a lamb with chickpea dinner and liked it very much. It came with rice and bread and 3 small portions of toppings. I also ordered the raita and a second kind of bread. One bread would have sufficed. We had a little of everything left over for lunch another day. We'll order from here again.

The menu had a lot of variety including some dishes I hadn't seen elsewhere. I decided to try something new and ordered the Saag Bhartha which is eggplant in the familiar spinach sauce. The eggplant is cooked down so the dish is creamy and rich; it was very flavorful and a spice level of 3 was perfect for me. It had some heat but didn't result in a burning mouth. The garlic naan was delicious and the basmati rice that came with the entree was perfectly cooked. The serving size was very generous and I enjoyed the leftovers for dinner the next night. I definitely want to try more items on their menu and see some takeout orders in my future. Service was good, and the atmosphere was quiet and perfect for catching up with a friend.

The interior is cozy and nicely decorated and doesn't have an overwhelming amount of tables. They seemed to stay consistently busy inside and a steady flow of carryout orders. Spice levels are always a little tricky with Indian food. I did order a mild vegetable briyani dish for my toddler but it was too spicy for him but he did devour the garlic Naan. I ordered one of the lamb dishes "mild" and my friend one of the sizzling chicken dishes "spicy." We switched dishes as the spice levels seemed to have switched from what we requested. Overall everything was delicious. Mango lassi was great and I also decided to try Masala tea, which i will definitely have to try again.

The interior was surprisingly large and nice (table cloths, flowers, glasswear.) Four of us tried Punjabi Tadka after looking at the review. We ordered Chicken Soup, Soya Chaap, Tandoori Shrimp as Appetizers. Good thing they gave us the soup completely bland without any salt, pepper and I liked the idea as the guests can season it as per their need. 07 out of 10 Soya chaap was hard, lacked flavour and the chutneys served didn't help enhance it either. 04 out of 10 Tandoori Shrimp was basically shrimp covered in tandoor masala and cooked on a pan. The onions and green peppers served were soggy with the masala. Highly disappointing but we expected better from the Main course. 03 out of 10 Main course we ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken noodles to begin with. Chicken noodle was mostly spaghetti in marinara sauce with chunks of chicken. We couldn't eat after 1 - 2 spoons. We had to return it. 01 out of 10 Naan was fluffy and the best of the dishes we tried at Punjabi tadka, 09 out of 10. Chicken tikka masala was just a very sweet tomato gravy that made us somehow finish the naan 03 out of 10. Apart from the food though the staff was polite but he lacked common etiquettes. After appetizers and before the main course, he would bring the larger plates to the table without even cleaning the table. We had to ask him to clean the table while we held the plates. We had to find the person to fill in the water bottle and the bottles were not very user friendly. The bill was around 90 USD without the noodle which is fair for a team of 4 but the quality of dishes were not up to the mark. Again I hope it was due to Sunday evening staff crunch.

The country music playing which was a little off-theme but it wasn't too loud and you can easily have a conversation across a table. Service was very attentive and food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. Food: For appetizers we got the vegetable pakora and vegetable samosas which were solid. There were 8 pakora per order so super easy to share and 3 samosas which are massive so you can easily split these in half if needed. For those wondering, "momos" are essentially the Tibetan/mongolian version of chinese dumplings which subsequently spread southwest to Nepal. We got the traditional Nepali, Chilli Yak, Chilli Chicken, and Chicken C versions which essentially covered the steamed, fried, and soup style preparations of dumplings. All of them were honestly delicious and different enough from one another we didn't feel like we duplicated flavors. The favorite was the Chilli chicken on if you have to pick just one to try. The traditional nepali thali is a dinner set that comes out on a bronze plate, I got mine with lamb curry which was very tender and not too gamey tasting at all. The basmati rice was fluffy and it comes with daal soup, cauliflower, a fermented pickle relish, and one of those syrup soaked balls (gulab jamun). It is quite filling so come hungry if you order this. The chow mein here is unique. It is NOT like Cantonese chow mein which uses a soy + oyster sauce base but instead the Nepalese version adds ketchup and chili sauce so it actually tastes like a hybrid between the chinese dish and spaghetti. It is actually quite tasty and worth a try if you're a fan of either dish. The naan here comes out a little bit oily but otherwise is fluffy and tasty, did not regret ordering it. Overall this place justifies it's 5 star rating. The flavors are punchy and delicious, the portions are massive, and the prices very reasonable especially the inflation nowadays. Would strongly encourage any to go out of their way to give this place a try.
