    Chicken Karahi

Best Pakistani & Indian food in Indy area. Customer service is always wonderful. They are very friendly always give great recommendations. Highly recommend. Will not disappoint. Located in a strip mall and the inside is not anything great but the best food is always located in a strip mall plaza.

I've tried a couple restaurants serving Indian cuisine here in Indy. My go-to for most flavorful spot would be Mumbai Grill. The owner is friendly, respectful and often recommends items that might appeal to you with a big smile. The inside of the restaurant, you will find a corner where meat is available for purchase from the butcher. Most people may find the open and plain interior not very welcoming but I think this is room for improvement. All in all, my favorite place to snag Indian food to go! Chicken korma is my best pick from this spot!

Mumbai Grill is the best Indian Restaurant in the Indianapolis area. By far the best Palek Paneer I have ever had. I have taken people here over the years when I want to introduce someone to Indian food and the reaction has always been very positive. The food is incredible. The ambiance is not much to look at. It is located in the corner of a strip mall. There is no decor. Trust me though. After you try the food it won't even matter anymore! You can also call in your order and pick it up if you prefer. I would highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

I think I've found my new favorite Indian restaurant in Greenwood! We were looking for something new to try and landed on Mumbai Grill. It's in a strip mall not far from the interstate. Nothing fancy inside, just tables and chairs and a cashier, but you can sit down to eat as well as order to go. There are lots to choose from, but I always love chana masala so I decided to stick with that and also get a side of garlic naan. The flavors were popping! That bread was buttery and garlicky and warm. So delicious. The rice portions were very generous and we had more than enough for leftovers the next two days. I will be back to try something different for sure!

Wow. Totally speechless when I took the first bite. Our order was: Chicken Tikka Masala Butter Chicken Rice Garlic Naan Garlic Chili Naan Bhatura Everything was so delicious! Such great flavor to it all! There is nothing much more to say but that. The service was great as well as the time the food came out was so reasonable. I will definitely be coming here again.

I highly recommend the butter chicken, goat briyani, and garlic naan! Service was quick and there was lots of parking

Great food, but not good enough to justify the price. Anybody will tell you that the food here is amazing! Best butter chicken I've ever had! Never had a bad dish from here, they know their way around the kitchen! But the prices have gotten unreasonable for the tiny portion sizes and they don't even come with rice. The greed is a little too much. Spicy Doner is my new Indian place! The food is comparable and the prices are much more fair. I hated to say goodbye but I did!

Best food on the south side! We have driven through snow to get their Gobi manchurian and rice, as it never disappoints! The staff is friendly and if we do take out or dine in we usually get a little extra treat from the restaurant for free as a thank you. The food can range from spicy to really spicy but even our non Indian living friends now crave food from Mumbai Grill. We go at least once a week if possible as it is amazing. Highly recommend it for a satisfying and not too pricey option for a meal. Tonight we have several dishes ranging from biryani rice with goat to vegan gobi Manchuria. I loved the gobi as it was extra crispy and with just the right amount of sauce. Our friends had a mango lassi which came after the meal and was the perfect ending to a spicy meal. If you dine in it takes some time to get your food as they make it from scratch, but it is worth it for the home flavors and taste. Take out is always great and the rice portions are considerably larger if you get a family size rice.

    2 taste less chatni's with 2 appetizers.

We were visiting here in Greenwood, thought try Indian food. But that was worse thought we ever had. Uncooked roti, full of salt Peshawari chicken, tasteless Chicken Kadhi, ordered Palak paneer but they served Saag Paneer instead of it. Lahori Fish was smelly and no taste or any flavor. I know Pakistani food very well, but this Restaurant was worst served food ever had. Being honest, how people around here coming and ordering food and giving good stars and reviews. There's something wrong with the people who doesn't know the flavor and richness of the Indian and Pakistani food. Zeroooo. Lakh di lahnat.

My favorite Indian spot around Indianapolis. Every dish is authentic and delicious. The butter chicken and samosas (only $1) are always a hit. Don't forget to order some garlic naan as well. We tried something new tonight (Chicken Karahi) and it had such flavor and a decent amount of spice. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Their tandoori chicken is also one of my Favorite dishes here. Do yourself a favor and run to this restaurant!

Went recently. The food quality and flavor was poor have to throw it in to garbage . I don't mind spending on food because I am foodie but this time it hurts waste of money.

Side of chana curry is same as with Chhole bhature. Liked the crispness of kulcha. Will give one more try before I decide a yay or nay for this. Aloo Parantha - what its supposed to be, the only item the way it should be in our order. Soft, flavorful and filling. 9/10 I had much higher expectations from this place. We walked into the restaurant which is to the side and a bright and open space. There aren't a ton of tables so it looks more like a spot for a quick bite or quick food while or after shopping. The menu is extensive and much of it was unknown to us. However the server graciously gave us suggestions and then would show us photos on her phone so we could imagine the dish. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and we orders two appetizers and two Main Street food options and had plenty for three with leftovers! The appetizer was very tasty with paneer and spinach baked into a flavorful dough. The special burger my husband devoured and even said he would get it again for sure! They do not have chicken or meat on the menu but are all vegetarian, but you don't miss the meat at all! For us who eat mostly veggie or plant bars it was delightful to be able to order anything and know it was primarily made in house veggie based! Our dishes had five curries to try which we loved, but do note there is no spice option. They come as they come, so for those not enjoying much spice make sure to ask which options are milder. Ours came with yogurts and dips which cooled things down considerably, plus they have lassis which are great for cooling the tongue. We are already planning to go back and loved it! A very different fee than other spots and a more street food feel from the Panjab. Delicious!

There was a very small wait till my turn came. Chhole Bhature was an already decided on and for second choice combo thali was recommended by the employee. In my opinion; Chhole Bhature - not impressed at all. Bhature didn't have enough fermentation and very over fried (see how red they look in pic). For Chhole, taste could have been more bold. Glad to see raita and onions on the side with it. Combo thali- choose this if you are sharing it. Otherwise too much food for one person or make 2 meals out of it. I had picked dal makhani, mix veg, saag and butter naan from the options. Dal makhani was pretty good although I was expecting more of dhaba style taste, don't know why. Mix veg tasted like home cooked sabzi. So neither good neither wow. Saag was perfection to me. (Leftover saag tasted even better haha) Butter naan - loved how it was soft yet crispy and that it didn't get chewy when it got cold. Loved the raita, jeera rice was well cooked, quantity of salad and achar was delicious. Dessert- got Gulab Jamun which was freezing cold and hard as rock. Tasted a tiny bit and that was that. All in all- it was a hit and miss experience. But I would to give them second chance

Not tooting my own horn, just saying I've been exposed to tons of food I wouldn't have otherwise. This place is phenomenal. Excellent service, kind folks, and just absolutely wonderful food. Portions are fantastic. All the curries are phenomenal. I recommend trying something aside from the typical tikka masala or butter chicken, if that's all you've had as far as curries go, unless you want to give them a try on a pizza. The Chicken Karahi is something to behold. The saag of any type are amazing. But what I can't get enough of is the Chicken Doner/Shawarma, it's like shawarma if shawarma was made with chicken tandoori. Fantastic. The lamb doner is wonderful too, after all it's the namesake! Their Naan bread is fantastic too. You really can't go wrong. This place even turned my 70 year old father, who's not super quick to try new things, into an Indian food fanatic! It had been a while since I last ordered, and today I was craving chicken tikka masala. I placed my usual order, and saying I was disappointed would be an understatement. Look at the salad photo I attached and compare it to the photo on the menu. They are not even close to being the same, and what I received was quite disgusting. The plain naan bread was unusually greasy. After being disappointed by the salad and bread, I do not know why I was surprised when the main dish was lacking as well and tasted nothing like my previous orders. DoorDash still lists the restaurant as Spicy Doner, but Yelp now shows the restaurant name as Punjabi. I can only assume the restaurant is under new management due to the name change and the dramatic decline in quality. Hopefully, I can find an alternative restaurant soon because I will not be ordering from here again.

I really wanted to try something mixed, but the worker said it was mostly either or. I really thought there would be more fusion options, but on the menu - the left side was Indian dishes and the right side was Mexican dishes. We did order a chicken tikka taco (sort of Indian/mexican infused) and then decided on butter chicken in medium. For the taco, you can get corn or flour tortilla and we forgot to specify, but thankfully it came out on corn. The butter chicken came with rice and naan (I forgot to ask if I could make it garlic naan) so it comes with regular. For a drink, I got the mango lassi which is like a mango smoothie with yogurt and milk, and he got a mango jarrrito. Our meal came up to about $30, and we decided to dine in. I got my mango lassi very quickly, it was really smooth and creamy texture, very milky mango tasting. I liked it, but my husband didn't care for it. The jarrito has a bottle cap, and on the wall, there is a bottle opener. I didn't even notice it but my husband did, it's unique and convenient. It took about 15ish mins or so to get our food, we like that it's made fresh and was brought to our table. He gave us extra plates as we were sharing our order. The tikka taco was bland, didn't really have much flavor. He gave us two sauces, one green and one red (he said the red is spicy) and even with that it was just ok. It was however very filled. The regular naan was good, especially when I dipped it in the butter chicken sauce. As for the butter chicken, it was decent. We got it in medium spice and it wasn't very spicy to me. The rice paired well with the butter chicken. The food was enough for both of us to share and be full, plus we had leftovers. The inside was quiet, it wasn't busy when we came.
