Words are hard when describing this delicious spot! It was amazing, flavorful, delectable and tasty! It was an open floor plan with no steps and plenty of seating. The lighting was also good for those with eye sight issues as often inside can be dark and hard to see. The ambience was colorful and festive. A fun spot! We went on a Saturday lunch and this opted for the buffet. It was $14.99 which is quite inexpensive! The buffet included fresh plain naan, masala chai and various other tidbits plus the buffet entree line! Awesome!! I must admit to being awe struck at their chai as it was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Yum. The buffet was with each dish covered and in its own pan this not exposed to the air or cooling. They had at least 4 vegetable/vegetarian options and several meat options. My husband said the samosas were the best he has ever eaten. They were made fresh we were told. Naan was also made fresh and brought to each table after our order, which meant they were still crispy and chewy and perfect. The space is open and light with many tables and great for a small group or larger one. The waitress seated us and was attentive even though it was buffet. Overall it wasn't as spicy as some spots because it is Punjab food so keep that in mind. But honestly one of the best spots I've tried in quite some time! They have a sweets counter where you can order to go. Rice pudding is on the buffet which was plenty for us but next time we might get some take away sweets. Definitely stop in! We will go back soon!

    Chutney and veggie pakora

Tonight, my partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Bharawan Da Dhaba for the first time. Our gracious and doting hostess and server was Preeti. We wanted for nothing during our intimate dinner and felt truly welcome. The food was delightfully fresh. We both ordered the hot Masala Chai and Vegetable Pakora with assorted chutneys to start. We had Palak Paneer (mild), Malai Kofta (medium) for our mains and garlic naan to round it out. We were struck by how delicious and freshly made everything was. I noticed the attention to detail with the spicing, particularly. They used red onion in the pakoras. Half way through our meal, i was already planning another dinner there with more friends and family. This is a new favorite! Treat yourself.

My wife likes variety of a good Indian Buffet. In DFW there were lots of choices and 2 or 3 outstanding ones, but hadn't found one here until now. Absolutely one of the best we have ever had. It's tucked away so word of mouth is gonna be important and this one deserves it. Great selection, excellent quality and terrific staff.

We tried their chhole bhature, amritsari kulcha, aloo parantha and hakka noodles. Hakka noodles definitely weren't hakka rather some masala noodles and their mild wasn't even mild. 0/10. Chhole bhature - enjoyed the extras (onions, pickle and raita) more than chhole bhature. This is more of chana curry and puri 3/10 Amritsari kulcha - my first time trying this. Side of chana curry is same as with Chhole bhature. Liked the crispness of kulcha. Will give one more try before I decide a yay or nay for this. Aloo Parantha - what its supposed to be, the only item the way it should be in our order. Soft, flavorful and filling. 9/10 I had much higher expectations from this place. Would like to try a few other items from their street food menu to check how their appetizers are.

We walked into the restaurant which is to the side and a bright and open space. There aren't a ton of tables so it looks more like a spot for a quick bite or quick food while or after shopping. The menu is extensive and much of it was unknown to us. However the server graciously gave us suggestions and then would show us photos on her phone so we could imagine the dish. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and we orders two appetizers and two Main Street food options and had plenty for three with leftovers! The appetizer was very tasty with paneer and spinach baked into a flavorful dough. The special burger my husband devoured and even said he would get it again for sure! They do not have chicken or meat on the menu but are all vegetarian, but you don't miss the meat at all! For us who eat mostly veggie or plant bars it was delightful to be able to order anything and know it was primarily made in house veggie based! Our dishes had five curries to try which we loved, but do note there is no spice option. They come as they come, so for those not enjoying much spice make sure to ask which options are milder. Ours came with yogurts and dips which cooled things down considerably, plus they have lassis which are great for cooling the tongue. We are already planning to go back and loved it! A very different fee than other spots and a more street food feel from the Panjab. Delicious!

Not tooting my own horn, just saying I've been exposed to tons of food I wouldn't have otherwise. This place is phenomenal. Excellent service, kind folks, and just absolutely wonderful food. I've had probably half the menu, and it's all amazing. Can't recommend this place enough. The prices are also phenomenal. You can't go wrong! The prices are great for what you get. Portions are fantastic. All the curries are phenomenal. I recommend trying something aside from the typical tikka masala or butter chicken, if that's all you've had as far as curries go, unless you want to give them a try on a pizza. The Chicken Karahi is something to behold. The saag of any type are amazing. But what I can't get enough of is the Chicken Doner/Shawarma, it's like shawarma if shawarma was made with chicken tandoori. Fantastic. The lamb doner is wonderful too, after all it's the namesake! Their Naan bread is fantastic too. You really can't go wrong. This place even turned my 70 year old father, who's not super quick to try new things, into an Indian food fanatic! If I could give them 10 stars out of 5, I would in a heartbeat.

I was very…read moresurprised by how amazing the food was and have ordered from them many times since my first order. It had been a while since I last ordered, and today I was craving chicken tikka masala. I placed my usual order, and saying I was disappointed would be an understatement. Look at the salad photo I attached and compare it to the photo on the menu. They are not even close to being the same, and what I received was quite disgusting. The plain naan bread was unusually greasy. After being disappointed by the salad and bread, I do not know why I was surprised when the main dish was lacking as well and tasted nothing like my previous orders. DoorDash still lists the restaurant as Spicy Doner, but Yelp now shows the restaurant name as Punjabi. I can only assume the restaurant is under new management due to the name change and the dramatic decline in quality. Hopefully, I can find an alternative restaurant soon because I will not be ordering from here again.

The lighting was perfect for a family dining out experience (not super dark or halogen lights in your face). The only one issue was the service, which was sub par. Our server didn't check up on us once in the hour we were sat. Even after our meals were finished, we waited a good 15 minutes before we got restless and went up to the reception area to ask for someone to help us with the payment/boxing up leftovers. Don't get me wrong, the food came out in a timely manner and it was hot/fresh. It was just the tardy server that we all noticed. I'm giving it a 5 star rating because of all the Indian places I've tried in Indianapolis and Bloomington, the quality of the food was BEYOND amazing. I tried this spot after having tried most Indian spots in the greater Indy area and also trying an all-vegetarian Indian restaurant in greenwood (which I had previously considered to be the best) and while that's a cozy spot with great food/great service, this restaurant is most definitely the best in Indy (for veg AND non-veg options). 10/10 recommend for anyone craving Indian food in the Indy area.
