They have two Danish-inspired drinks on their menu and I tried one of them: the iced Danish pastry milk tea ($6.50). Their milk teas come with boba already (yay) and the standard cold drink is 16 0z. Appreciate them letting me use my own cup. The drink was a bit too sweet for my taste and coming from the San Gabriel Valley where boba shops are more than plentiful, Hygge can't quite compare. Still, not a bad option if you're in Solvang and have a boba craving. The interior has plenty of space for you to sit and leisurely enjoy the drink. read more

Cute place to come in and lounge to enjoy a boba in Solvang. The selection and service was fantastic and my drink was well made. I had some trouble with the pre order machine, it didn't scroll down to a required field selection. Great Matcha Stop in Solvang,Ca. Stopped by Hygge Boba Tea and Smoothie in Solvang and ordered the 32oz. matcha with easy ice. The drink was smooth well-balanced, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The matcha flavor came through nicely and stayed consistent all the way through. I was hoping this boba shop would defy the stereotype of the lone boba shop in a small town and be really good since their menu looked so promising, but alas.... the bubble tea was terrible. I ordered the jasmine oolong, a pretty standard tea, but it was overpowering in flavor and wayyyy too sweet. The boba was hard. After the first sip, it was so bad I had to go up and ask them if they can pour some out and add in some plain milk to try to fix the taste. They said they were willing to and tossed out a third of my drink and added in plain milk, but it still was too strong and too bittersweet. After this, I just threw the drink away and this is the first time I have ever thrown boba away without finishing it. read more

This whole place smelled like Dong Quai . a Chinese herb I smelled at all the herb shops growing up. My tea tasted like it too. The guy asked if we wanted boba ; we said no but he didn't mark no, so they had to re make the tea. They were nice about it though. read more

Looks like this place had some potential, but unfortunately, they sold me a coffee and turns out that the coffee was sitting there all day and they just heated it up at the end of the day. Came in for some hot apple cider. They had just opened and the store smelled like natural gas, but the employee said she was aware and it was getting fix. The hot apple cider was good and some cinnamon was put on top. Cute inside with some holiday items for sale. We didn't stick around to shop because of the smell unfortunately. read more

I wanted something refreshing since it was hot. Saw this place and was impressed with the space inside. I got a dragon drink with boba. I thought I heard the cashier say she'd bring it to me so I sat down. They didn't and the issue I had was that they didn't announce that my drink was ready which would've been fine if they hadn't set my drink so far back on the counter that I couldn't see it from my spot. It's ok. Perhaps it's that I'm used to the very best tea places. I tried the earl grey but it was awful, had a rancid aftertaste. So I re-ordered a Jasmine milk tea at 75% with whole milk no boba. It was ok but not awesome. The Jasmine needs to be much stronger. It tasted like jasmine flavored milk. Considering there are no other tea places around, hopefully the staff studies and experiments with drinks to make the place much better. read more

Allergy reactions! My daughter had rash after drinking half an hour. My husband and I had rashed on skin at night. It was very icthy and it is allergies. The only bubble tea place that would be worth trying in the Solvang area. The drinks are decent, the interior is comfortable, and the tapioca is better than the make-at-home boba kits you can buy at Asian grocery stores. I had a Danish butter cookie milk tea while my spouse had a coconut twist. The milk tea had a ginger-ish kick to it. The coconut twist was pretty. Just came across this place and so glad I stopped in! Perfect tea house with awesome AC on a hot day. I ordered the strawberry black tea and it was perfection! Hygge Boba Tea and Smoothies is here! Finally, a boba tea shop in Solvang. I was on my way out of Solvang, but had to make this tea stop. Ambiance is quite spacious and cool. It has a slightly dim and calm setting. There are tables and chairs plus loungers. I noticed they have a light stand or something placed on the tables... it turned out to be a charging stand which I thought was cool. Drinks selections are abundant. Prices are a tad higher than most boba tea shop, but then again, you are in Solvang. I normally would get some kind of boba milk tea, but I wanted something different so I went with the favorite drink of the friendly and nice staff member behind the register. Drum roll please... lychee dragon green tea with real lychee + jelly! I got it with 100% sweetness and no ice. It was quite refreshing... I enjoyed it very much especially on a warm day. Thank you Miss! I was curious on the biz name 'Hygge' and my curiousity was answered by a cute posting on the outside of the shop. Hygge means a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality.
