Sarah Bernhardts was the one bakery item I wanted to bring home but the ones at Danish Mill Bakery looked different than the last time I was there. Good thing I only bought two to try as it tasted different as well. Solvang Bakery came through with how they're supposed to be. Moist, not dry almond cookie topped with a chocolate ganache enrobed in more chocolate. So good, I bought 2 boxes of 6 to bring home and to share, lefse which I rarely see, and apple streudel even though our hotel had breakfast. i had seen many people mention this bakery as one of their stops for solvang, and i had to check it out since it was such a cute pink bakery !! the bakery itself was very cute with the all pink tables & chairs and building, and i liked seeing the gingerbread house displays. the shop is pretty small and can get a little stuffy when crowded, but the service is pretty fast. i only ordered the gingerbread cookie to try, and it was honestly just ok. it was pretty dry and not that strong in cinnamon or ginger flavor, so i wouldn't get it again. they did have a cute design tho for summer where the gingerbread has a swimsuit, so i give them props for cuteness! unfortunately since i didn't try the other things, my review is based solely on the gingerbread cookie, but i may try the jalapeno onion cheese bread if i'm ever in the area again since it looked pretty yummy! read more

We were looking for a quick breakfast and coffee and were not disappointed in The Solvang Bakery. No photos since everything was gone too quickly, but it was all delicious. I'm a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter so I thought it would be great, but the brownie was too dense and fudgey and the peanut butter was a weird frosting that I ended up scraping off. I did also get some butter cookies which I liked because they were buttery and not too sweet. Perfect with tea or coffee. I'm sure if you come to get some of the items that all the other reviews say to get you'll leave happy, but I went against my Yelp instincts and paid the price. Came for an Easter theme cookie for my toddler. So much to choose from. We were on a hunt for a dessert that was peanut and tree nut free as we had someone with a food allergy in our group and The Solvang Bakery did not disappoint.
