I have had an unused futon frame in my living room practically since i moved into my new apartment. I decided to purchase my kids proper beds. I have re-acquired "bachelor" status, but they didn't have to experience it as well. I tried to give it away and donation services weren't available so I tried to disassemble it myself. First with Allen wrench and standard wrench...purchased and returned with zero issue. Then after returning i purchased a 4 lb sledge/Metal mallet to try and force the issue. Didn't quite work. So I decided to keep the mallet for future destruction projects and called BOCOGO (see review) to do a 4th of July pickup, which was way quicker and convenient than I thought it would be. Just wanted to order a $49 boombox for my kid's birthday. I tried three times to order online and have it delivered to her. She lives 4 blocks from the store! I called the store, and asked if I could place an order over the phone, and was told no. They don't do that. I asked the guy on the phone (I'd give him a 1 for customer service) if he was really going to forego a $50 sale because he wasn't going to help me? He said, "Yes." When I told him I was going to leave a healthy review about him and his store, he said, "You do that," and hung up on me. I didn't even get a chance to get his name. read more

I always want this to be an enjoyable experience. I chose this particular location for a recent outing because of the customer experience I received over the occasional visit over the last few years here. My 6 month year old and I headed out to pick up our online order and was quickly brought out my items after a call. Great! I stepped out of my car and was greeted with a palm to the face saying I'm gonna need your ID. Am I being pulled over? ha! No problem at all, obviously you need it, but a simpler greeting would be nice. I figured I would double check the bag, while doing that I noticed two items weren't in there, as I looked up the gentleman ran inside. Me, stuck with my 6 month old In the car seat, I grabbed someone's attention and the gentleman came back out to tell me they don't have them and that I'm out of luck until next year, he mentioned I should have gotten an email. Well, I didn't, and still haven't. How does this help me? I bough 4 sets of Platinum Xmas lights among other things, having half the lights does nothing for me, are there more nearby? Can you offer a replacement? Anything? After an experience that's lacking customer service and needing to return some items, I hauled my little one in with his car seat and the bag of items to return. Waited in line for 5 or so minutes and was told I couldn't do the return there and was told to go to the back of the store... quite inconvenient with a 6mo old! Well I had already picked out different items that would work so I told the snarky lady I needed to at least pay for these and I would have to handle the return later, hence the 6mo year old in my hands. So here I am, waiting for an email, a credit, an apology... something. But that hasn't happened. What a crap experience! I will definitely remember this, and will always choose Home Depot over this store for any project big or small! To management, I understand things get hectic, but customer service seems to be a lost art here. Step up to the plate and be the leader they pay you to be and your employees will follow. read more

This is my favorite example of your "local place," or "your friendly, neighborhood store." As someone in retail, I understand the magic of having customers who feel so at home in your store and with your people, and have such high trust in the consistently excellent experience (service, quality, cost) that they not only come back, but are actually proud to say, "that's my place!" This Ace Hardware has those type of customers in my family and me. We've been coming here since we moved into the area 8 years ago. Yes, we've gone to home depot and lowe's, but if we can get it here, this is where we go. Every person my husband, daughters, or I have worked with have been so friendly and helpful, and they will make sure you get what you need, even if it's not with them. Their manager Bethany is wonderful and clearly respected by her team (which is a great sign), and I also have to call out Kyle who went out of his way (and the store) to help me figure out how to get a huge wagon into my civic. It's a very small store but the staff is so nice. They even have store dogs. Everyone is helpful, friendly and happy to see you. Or great actors. They will remember you and be all how did that work out? If they don't know something they'll take you over to the computer and Google or utube your situation and learn with you and show you what you need. They've done this with me twice now. You mention your project and boom they talk to you, give you tips and have you thought of this or this will really help you. If they had more of a selection, bigger store they would be a 5. They are awesome but so small selection is limited. read more

So I don't normally write reviews for this type of business, but I'm breaking the rules tonight. Let me start by saying how excited I am that they decided to open in our neighborhood! First, the staff is amazing. Super helpful and knowledgeable. Any question I have, they are ready with an answer. They go out of their way to make me feel like I'm their only customer. This place definitely make me feel like I'm in a small town hardware store. Second, they have fantastic deals on tools, etc. So I don't mind picking up extra things while I'm there because I know the price is right! Finally, I have met the owners at their ribbon cutting, and they are the nicest people. And when the store gets busy, they roll up their sleeves and get to work. Impressive!!! I've been here twice now, and I have experienced A++ customer service, from the young man at the cash register, to the two men on the floor who helped me find exactly what I needed during each visit. They even go the extra mile to not just point me to the aisle but went up to the spot the products were hanging on to be sure that, among all the different ones hanging there, they had the exact one I needed, before I even asked them to do that. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful this store is. I have now been in 3 time and each time I am greeted with a smile and a person who takes me directly to what I need. Yesterday I went in with my special needs son and they did not miss a beat -- made sure he had a cart, made sure he was included by filling his cart and waiting patiently while I rounded him up and headed for the next item. The store dogs, Penny and Pickles, soon joined us and the guy made sure they went with us to each isle to keep my kiddo with us. Everything was with a genuine smile on his face.
