Really enjoyed this spot! It has a great work-from-home vibe with plenty of people working on laptops, but it would also be perfect for studying, reading, or just hanging out with a coffee. They have plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor which I appreciated. Street parking was easy and convenient, which was a nice bonus. The only downsides were that the food selection was pretty limited, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall, I'd definitely come back if I was looking for a cozy place to get some work done or spend a relaxing afternoon.

Ambiance: 4 Food: 0 Service: 0 Price/Value: 1 $37+ for two iced lattes, smoked salmon toast, water and a "cinnabun" before tip. A busy, hip, modern co-working space with relaxed vibes and coffeehouse tunes. I hate Starbucks as much as the next ALX millennial stay-at-home dog mom DINK, but the ONE thing I applaud is 100% confirmation on whether the customer would like their pastry warmed. Why Del Ray and Old Town coffeeshops don't consistently ask this is a head scratcher. Of all my regular haunts, only Buzz's Bakery gets this right. With 5 folks behind the bar, I hope Hypergoat considers adding this simple inquiry to their spiel while ringing up pastry-ordering customers.

You'll never not convince me that Hypergoat isn't the GOAT. Hands down best coffee in town. Their seasonal drinks are alwaysssss delicious. Especially the current jasmine latte! The Brazilian bread bites, the quiche, the toast - ALL SO GOOD. I love that they are connected to a couple small businesses and host little markets here and there! We always recommend this coffee shop and always will! Service is always great and kind! The space can feel a bit small when you go during peak hours, but they do have an outdoor space- my only recommendation would be to make the outdoor space more cozy and vibey!

This coffee shop had a lot of seating for remote workers/students and a lot of lights wood with plants. The coffee was very smooth and good, however it took longer than I would expect because it wasn't too busy. Staff was very friendly however, and the coffee was good.

Loved it ! Great baristas, I enjoyed discussing pour over receipes, they have a variety of beans. Probably one of the best pour overs I have had in DMV. Coming back here is a no brainer. I came during the end hour, so got a Togo but was totally worth coming during 5F. Next time I will come and cherish a world class pour over at the cafe. They are attached to some cowork facility too, so those are some lucky folks who have that membership.

WHY DIDN'T I COME HERE SOONER?! I just found my go-to favorite coffee shop in the area. The coffee is of superior quality and the interior is modern yet sophisticated and comforting. Great place to meet friends, study, go on a date, or even go solo and enjoy a drink with lovely Brazilian influenced snacks. The staff was kind and the service was quick for a Sunday morning. I tried their seasonal Rose Cardy (cardamom) latte which is right up my alley and flavor palette- it was amazing and again, the best latte I've had in the old town area (and I've tried many cafes here). Out of curiosity, I tried their light savory snack, pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread). It was light and chewy due to the tapioca flour and a nice savory item to accompany my sweet drink. I love everything about this place- the drinks, service, vibe, and more. I WILL be a regular here. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped here for breakfast while attending a convention in the area - such good vibes. Modern interior with colorful art to balance the dark woods and cement, simple layout, and super helpful and patient staff. Coffee and food as AMAZING. Best gingerbread latte of my life - no joke. Didn't taste cloying or overdone - perfect balance of flavor to the creaminess of the latte. The lavender honey latte was also no slouch, and paired very well with the lavender honey toast - neither of them fought for dominance. Absolutely recommend, and I can't wait to get into the bag of beans we got! Cant say I recommend driving in Alexandrea though. Drivers in the area are mean and don't pay attention to their own stop signs - drive safe!

One of my new fave coffee spots to get a drink and to get my beans. I love the feel of the place as well. Spacious to work or drink with a couple of friends. Service has always been very friendly and accomodating! I highly recommend coming to this spot!

Great coffee shop in Old Town, Alexandria. Close enough to King St that you can use the Metro, walk or take the free trolley. I had a cappuccino, it was perfectly done and the right balance of coffee and milk. I noticed some baked goods, but I didn't have any. Clean, friendly staff and a good number of tables, excellent to set up your computer or meet friends for a good cup of coffee. The space is next to a co-working space with a couple of phone booths, but only for their members.

This is a coffee person's coffee shop. The vibe is good, the tables are comfortable and there are enough of them. There are also 'phone' booths' for people to go into a room with others to have privacy to work or whatever. The pastries looked pretty good, though I didn't have any; people enjoying them seemed happy. There is a great eclectic clientele here, fewer families than at the well known coffee shop on Mt Vernon. On a Sat morning there were a fair number of people with laptops and looking like they were working. But you come here for the coffee. They make it any way you want. Hypergoat roasts their own and they buy some uniquely interesting beans that you won't find in other places. I enjoyed a cappuccino and then had a pour over recommended by the person at the next table. I don't know its name, but it tasted a lot like tea. It was different and I really appreciated the chance to try something very new. I highly recommend this shop if you are serious about your coffee. Or, if you appreciate a well made cup brewed by people who know coffee.

Stopped by here to try their coffee. based on a facebook recommendation. The atmosphere is like a shared workspace type of setup, where people come with their laptops and do their work. They even have private phonebooth sections for members for privacy. As far as the coffee is concerned, they definitely did not disappoint - this has to be the smoothest coffee i've ever tasted in quite a while. They didn't have any sugar-free syrup options for lattes, so I just got a regular one with oat milk. Highly recommend!

Was super excited to come try this spot out but was disappointed by the vibes. Everyone who was working acted mad & while our latte art was beautiful, neither of our coffees was very hot. The flavor of the coffee was delightful though. (Also a random thought outside the coffee review- but there are so few goats that the branding of this place is very misleading for people who seek out funky places. It's just like 5 mini stuffed goats and nothing else. This is just a very modern little coffee spot with beige decor so don't get your goats hopes up!)

Hypergoat has a trendy vibe. You can find some knowledgeable baristas and decent coffee. This place can become very crowded and people with laptops can take the tables quickly. Staff are pleasant and attentive. I ordered a flat white and most important you can get it in ceramic. It was full body.

Flat white, cinnamon roll, and a little brazilian milk sweet (Brigadeiro?).

Unfortunately, whoever the individual was on shift today was just a total piss poor person - she seemed to have an issue with our party, as she automatically assumed we just came there to 'squat' without ordering anything (if you have been to this place before, there isn't much seating and this isn't where you'd want to sit for a bit anyway); when I called her out and stated that I already knew our party's orders, she backtracked. She then continued to make a snide comment on the number of drinks we were ordering - what's with the passive aggressiveness? I didn't know that there was some rule that each person was required to order something. Like, are you okay? I just had a bad feeling about all of this, and we should have just walked out instead of giving our money to support this business - to add to it all, the coffees that we did receive (latte with soy milk, and the mocha) were just poorly made and not strong at all; they were both watered down and bitter at the same time... come on! UGH, the regret, but it was a choice. Shame on you, Via Volcán! You might want to heavily reconsider who you employ and train them better - this individual is really hurting your business! I sat on the booth side by the wall and was not near an outlet. It was quite chilly even though it wasn't sweltering outside, so I'm glad I brought a jean jacket. Music was playing but it wasn't too loud. Stayed for a couple of hours. There was plenty of foot traffic but not enough to be disruptive. There was one restroom, which was clean. The baristas were pleasant as they helped other customers. I was going to order seltzer water, but they had it on tap (along with plain water) so it was free. I also ordered an iced tea to support the establishment. It was refreshing and I didn't even add anything to make it sweet. I would return here to work if I needed to, especially because I like the area (even though parking is mostly paid street spots), but plan on continuing my quest for the perfect coffee shop/remote work vibe.

It was upsetting because I paid for an extra shot of espresso but nothing about that drink tasted right. I couldn't taste the banana either . I also got a feta pastry and that coated $9.20 and that was just ridiculous . When I ate it, it was literally a block of feta in the pastry making it hard to eat because it was extremely salty. I was impressed with the amount of filling it had because it's rare to fine a filled pastry nowadays but unfortunately for this pastry I had to throw majority of the filling because the salt was overpowering. So for paying about $20 was not worth the cost. The space was cute and service was great but I wouldn't come here and pay so much money.
