Nice coffee shop located on King Street in old town, Alexandria. Misha's advertises itself as an artisanal coffee shop where they roast their own beans and make all the coffee drinks you would expect from a higher end barista shop. My latte was well made from their own roasted beans and was full bodied, nicely balanced and with a rich crema that was quite good. The business itself has a dark inviting coffee shop vibe to it with plenty of seating inside, also some outdoor seating and a coffee roaster that is readily visible that adds a lot to the experience of drinking coffee here. Nice! Also, for those of you that have dogs, it definitely appears to be a dog friendly business as there were dogs sitting outside the business as well as some inside the business. Overall, a very nice spot to grab your coffee drink of choice and sit down and enjoy it in a relaxing atmosphere.

    Hot chocolate

We swung by yesterday after our photoshoot and were a bit disappointed. We ordered two hot chocolates and they pretty much give you milk with cocoa powder. I have never been to a place that does this. They should at least have the staff ask if you'd like to sweeten your hot chocolate or at least tell you so it's not a surprise. The place was quiet and nice over all.

A great location in the middle of Alexandra and the outdoor area is very attractive. However, that's as far as my positive experience go. We ordered a macchiato and a cortado. They serve in s larger 12" oz paper that is unusual to drink. Not even espresso paper cups even when we got a bit of lecture of those drinks are. The milk was not done right for both drinks, particularly for the macchiato. The coffee tastes close to starbucks. Extra roasted but I guess acceptable for milk drinks. The decor inside is mediocre or a bit barren. Ok, to stop by because of location but not much else.

Found this interesting coffee spot on Yelp and was able to park on the street. Opens early. Overall, great little coffee shoppe with plenty of pastries and breakfast options. Seating located inside and out with plenty of chairs outside on the sidewalk. Service was a little confused on taking orders assuming I had already placed my order. The music in the front seating area was a bit loud and was not very conducive to have a conversation at the table Overall impression, I would return. The coffee was good. Stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Pretty convenient location in Old Town. If you've been in the area, you know how difficult parking can be. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the shop and plenty of street parking in either direction on King street. Walking in, the first thing I noticed is the hustle and bustle feel. I went on a Saturday morning, VERY busy and loud, but somehow not uncomfortable. Ordered a hot chai with oat milk. The barista let me know it's spicy and I'm glad she did. It is! Also got some pastries. I had to ask what each team was because there's no labels. I wish they were labeled because it was hard to remember everything and decide what I wanted at the same time. They were pretty good. Prices are reasonable.

Misha's is a staple Alexandria If you love coffee purist, love their variety of sourcing and well-roasted beans--especially if you drink it black. Each Misha's location in Alexandria has its own unique feel. their King Street location is no has a lively, social vibe with tables inside, and it's a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done. That said, finding the entrance right now is a bit tricky due to construction--keep an eye out, or you might walk right past it like we did! the food was just okay. I ordered the quiche, which turned out to be more of a breakfast pizza. It wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. The bakery window also looked a little disorganized as well Overall, Misha's is a good spot for coffee and a nice place to hang

We got here and there was a long line hut staff takes our order while we were waiting so we didn't have to wait long for our coffee. Small little shop. I got a little blueberry pastry and smallest coffee and it was $16 so I didn't like the price too much but ahain, it's old town. I got the iced pitaschio latter and it was okay. It wasn't impressive but not bad. Menu are small so it's hard to read in my opinion!

Iced caramel latte and a black iced coffee
    Jonathan K.

I thought this spot would be amazing as I love artisan coffee houses and fresh beans.. I'm not quite sold on it though. The coffee is pretty decent and flavorful, black iced anyway. The other drink was an ice caramel latte and ehhh it wasn't so good.. not sure what they use for flavoring but yeah.. not so great. Service was good, server was friendly enough when I went to counter to order. Ambiance is pretty cool. I like coffee shops with music and just a good place to sit and work.. or just kinda relax and people watch.. and you can here. Might have to come back and give it a second try but first go through wasn't overly impressed with coffee.

This coffee shop is located in old town. It doesn't have parking but you can find that on the street. There's plenty of seating to work remotely from here but not a lot of outlets. I like that they display the coffee beans from around the world and the coffee roaster machine in the back. I noticed many people had their dates here. The service was quick and fast. I got the lavender iced latte on the right and left is iced coffee. Their coffee is little watery and I think it needs more syrup to make it sweeter plus I didn't really taste the lavender.

BEST LATTES EVER!!! Strong, flavorful, stimulating, rich coffee beans/ espresso! My fave coffee house ever! I usually prefer organic, but the blends at Misha's are so great, I don't care!!! Good quality syrup (I choose the sugar free vanilla) and well-bodied flavor, smooth, silky rich taste!!! Not a watered down too sweet, thin, cheap blend! This is FAR FROM BEING STARBUCKY!!! And better than Atwater's ( a Maryland-based coffee shop that makes healthy organic espresso which are usually well-blended). Misha's is the best! The staff is consistently efficient, cordial, and professional!!! The baked goods run out quickly bc they are especially fresh, uniquely prepared (off-site), and delicious!

Fantastic coffee! We Aussies love our latte's, and these guys do a great Cortado (closest thing to a small double shot latte in Australia)

She then continued to make a snide comment on the number of drinks we were ordering - what's with the passive aggressiveness? I just had a bad feeling about all of this, and we should have just walked out instead of giving our money to support this business - to add to it all, the coffees that we did receive (latte with soy milk, and the mocha) were just poorly made and not strong at all; they were both watered down and bitter at the same time... come on! Not to mention, it felt so fairly-priced compared to most places in Old Town! We spent about $50 between the two of us, which included a 20% tip on our bill. Hard to beat in this area honestly, especially given the quality of the food and service. I look forward to coming back and am so glad to finally have an answer to "where do you recommend going for brunch in Old Town?" -- a question that I've historically struggled with when people asked!

The staff was friendly, and the menu had several items that sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the setting. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which came with eggs and breakfast potatoes. The meal itself was good, and I liked that the eggs were included since that's not always the case with biscuits and gravy. I also ordered a Bloody Mary that was advertised on the menu as being garnished with bacon, celery and a pickle spear. When it arrived, there was no bacon, celery or pickle spear, and I was told they were out. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know before ordering. The biggest issue was service timing. There were four of us dining together, and three meals arrived while the fourth entrée didn't show up for about ten more minutes. Since nobody wanted to eat while one person sat without food, our meals cooled off while we waited. Ironically, the delayed meal was a BLT--which did have bacon on it and even a pickle spear.... I finished my first Bloody Mary and ordered a second. After waiting 15-20 minutes with no drink arriving, our check was brought to the table and I ended up canceling it. My wife's meal was the biggest disappointment. It was served with corn chips that were extremely stale, which really hurt the overall dish. HomeGrown has a lot of potential. The atmosphere is great, the staff was pleasant, and parts of the meal were enjoyable. However, between the service delays, missing menu items, stale chips, and drink issues, there is definitely room for improvement.

However, I'm considering making this a less frequent stop because they no longer allow customization of their seasonal selections. I used to enjoy tailoring my drinks to explore new flavors and enhance my experience. While I understand their logic--similar to not altering a prix fixe menu--the ability to customize is something I value in a coffee shop, especially since I savor one select cup each day. The ambience is delightful, with a rustic modern vibe that makes it a decent spot to work if you can snag a table, though the wobbly chairs can be a bit distracting. They also offer a coworking space, which is nice if you need a rentable area, but it does feel somewhat corporate, reminiscent of a WeWork environment. Despite these positives, I can't give the shop a full five-star rating due to their policy against customizing specialty drinks. While I appreciate their desire to maintain the integrity of their unique creations, this decision takes away from the personal coffee experience I cherish. The joy of customizing a drink to my exact taste is something I miss dearly. In summary, while the coffee and atmosphere are top-notch, the lack of personalization and the slightly corporate/snobby feel of the coworking space are drawbacks. It's still a great place to visit for the flavors and the vibe, but I hope they reconsider allowing customization to enhance the overall experience.
