Kate and Romain were a pleasure to make business with. It's been about a decade since I've upgraded my personal computer, they were knowledgeable and it was a smooth process for me. Their communication as timely and they were accessible by phone and text message which made it super helpful. Their shop is by appointment only - I made arrangements for a free consultation, this allowed for me to bring in all of my equipment and ask questions. Ripley, their adorable pup is the best door greeter, an of course they follow follow all COVID-19 protocol. Both Kate and Romain, listened to my concerns, answered my laptop/desktop related questions and helped me stay under budget. I was super impressed when Kate reached out to me letting me know that she snagged me a bigger display monitor at the holiday sale price! I was really stressed about installation at home and all the cables. Before I left the shop, they talked me through the set up and once I got home it was pretty easy to set everything up on my own. I highly recommend Hyperion for all things computer related and I don't say this lightly. From the first phone call of inquiry I was treated respectfully and did not feel even a hint of judgement despite my almost complete technological ignorance. I literally did not know my password to log in to my laptop. The communication was professional and decreased my anxiety to where I was able to understand the issues vs. my usual, which is to nod affirmatively, pretend I get it, and get out the door as fast as possible. The fees are clearly discussed upfront and I was encouraged to contact them with any further questions or problems. I had a great experience here. They were very professional and knowledgeable and i felt very comfortable with the immediate, good customer service. They shop is well decorated and clean. My laptop was dropped. They not only fixed the exterior beautifully, but it was cleaned and is faster than ever before. They updated me on the timeline and made sure they contacted me in person. No shuffling through voice mails or texts. In addition, upon pick-up, they explained everything in detail regarding what they did and what to expect. Hyperion are amazing! I was having issues with my home PC crashing and I was able to schedule time for Hyperion to take a look at my PC. After leaving my PC with them it only took them a few days to diagnose the issue and help me order the correct parts to get my PC fixed and running. Not only that they were able to explain every detail to me so I could make decisions on what I wanted done. After all was said in done they even put some software on my PC that I could use to periodically to keep my PC running great. Highly recommend this place. read more

I visited the Portland Hyperion Computerworks shop when they were Nerds on Call, and again recently - a great experience every time. The team there has fixed my out of warranty MacBook Air keyboard and put a new SSD in a gaming laptop, and I will definitely come back again next time I need work done. On both visits, the service was quick and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, offering easy to understand explanations and helpful recommendations. When I went here several months ago I received some of the most excellent, thorough, and accommodating service I have ever experienced. I lived pretty far away and Romain even helped me out by coming by my house to pick up my computer when I was in a pinch! He's also really good at explaining and breaking down the various elements of what could be wrong and takes the time to make sure you understand, even if just on a rudimentary level. I was having an issue with Time Machine on my iMac not working with my external hard drive, and replacement drives weren't mounting. Hyperion tested the hard drive and found it was failing, and also got the replacement drives up and running by correcting some of my self-inflicted issues. All done quickly and professionally, with detailed explanations of what the issues were and what was being done to remedy them. And all in a friendly environment.
