I just had an extremely frustrating experience trying to get my computer fixed here. After assuring me it was fixed, I took it home only to find that it still had the issue. Then they promised me that another fix would work, so I brought it in a second time, only to be told that they had to order the part, which would be there Saturday. I planned on coming in Saturday, but the part didn't come until Tuesday. They assured me I could come in on Friday at noon and it would be fixed in 1-2 hours. I got a call at 5:15 pm telling me it was all finished, too late for me Friday. So, I came in today, Saturday (my 6th trip to the shop) feeling assured that I had finally reached the finish line. Only to find that, in spite of the Friday evening call telling me it was all ready, that they had not fixed it at all! Very inconsiderate lack of communication. The only redeeming part of the experience is that they gave me a full refund. But, here I am at square one again with a broken computer, after 3 weeks and 6 separate trips to the shop. read more

Bought external drive for backup purposes to backup some files. Done badly & couldn't use the drive. Also very rude!! Took it to someone else as I had trouble opening the drive for the backup. Took it for an opinion....told it wasn't done well. Went back to explain what I was told. Very rude again!! The store was empty....i now understand why!!! We took my MacBook Pro here to be fixed. After a week they called us and recommended using Apple parts to fix it with and we paid $500 up front for the parts/fix. After another week we called to check on the status of the repair. We got a voicemail and left a message. It has now been over two weeks and we have left many more messages with NO RESPONSE. Yesterday we called about 9am and someone answered and told us they don't open til 11 and that they would call me back... they didn't and when I called several times I got the same recording. They have my computer and $500 of our money and we have no idea what's going on with it. I would NOT recommend this shop, Comprite in Lake Oswego should not be trusted with your business. My next step will be to notify Apple and then to file a lawsuit. read more

This is my first ever leaving a review on a business but they were just that bad. I Brought my Lenovo Legion slim 5 14aph8 to them as the bios had died (both Lenovo and many Lenovo community members had told me it was the bios and I've had problems like this before so I was very confident that was the problem). Yet they wanted to run a full diagnostic of the machine which would cost me $100 plus the roughly $100 per hour for 4 hours (which would have cost me over $500+), many other places would charge a flat rate of 200 max for something like this, would not recommend ever. read more

I brought my iPhone to CompRite Computers for service. I found a sign on the door; back at 3:30. The store hours indicate it should have been open. I came back at 3:30 and left my phone, to be ready by 1pm the next day. I returned at 2:30 the next day to find the same sign in the window: back at 3:30. I went over to the bakery, got something to eat and returned at 3:35. Store still locked. I drove by again at 3:45; still noone in the store. This is poor form. Why not just put a "gone fishing" sign in the door? While I'm on the rant, I should mention that the underground parking area is covered in trash and there are conflicting pavement markings regarding how to park. We were told they would replace an ipad screen for $189 which we paid. Told to pick up Wednesday. When we went in they were sorry they have to get a different screen might costs $50 more and when we picked it up they charged us $164. We could have bought a new ipad for that. My husband is 88 years old. They should have told him he could buy a new one instead of "fixing" the old one for that high a price. read more

As of 5/30 this is the worst experience I've ever had with a business. I would love to amend this if anything gets cleared up. Constant lip service and no follow through, lost items, and wasted time AND money. The guy I've been working with there since March to 1) upgrade my iMac memory 2) recover info from a busted external hard drive 3) appraise an old iMac to see if he could sell it has 1) not completed the upgrade so that my computer doesn't recognize the $289 hardware upgrade I paid for. I'm beginning to think they never even touched it. 2) lost my external hard drive 3) sold the iMac and promised me $180 for it, which is nowhere to be found Despite visiting the store in person 6 or 7 times, and being in direct cell phone contact with Dan ( the manager who I guess has now left?) and someone named Paul from the Sunnyside store (despite these two businesses not technically being connected?) no one is responding to me and when I go into the store, there's a new employee who conveniently has no idea what is going on, or how to get ahold of anyone. He suggested I file a police report? So anyway do NOT walk through the doors of this place unless you want to be in a long term relationship with them, never get anything fixed, waste many hours of your time and throw your money away and initiate a case at small claims court. You go to the Lake Oswego CompRite because they are open on Saturday. Your usual CompRite, in West Linn, used to be but no longer is. According to Daniel, Eric at the West Linn CompRite is distracted by side projects and takes a long time to get parts. According to Daniel, your new MacBook Air screen will be in on Thursday. (Thursday and Friday they will be closed.) According to Daniel, the reason they didn't answer their phone was they were closed two days due to a robbery at another store. According to Daniel, the screen arrived Friday night, the computer will be ready Monday, and they will call you when it is. (They won't call you.) According to Daniel, the reason their hours are in flux is that they just bought the place a few months ago and the former owners left a backlog of repairs, so they have to close early to work on them. According to Daniel, your laptop is *ready*, but they noticed your charging port is only charging at half speed, so they're going to fix that and you can pick the laptop up tomorrow. (Tomorrow, they will be closed early.) According to Daniel, they tried two different screens, but after two weeks your computer is *not fixed*, so you can have a refund. There must have been something wrong with the screens they received. But they expect more on Monday, and you can have one free if you come back. They never called you, they never explained why they never called you, and you suspect they never touched your laptop. You find yourself glad to think that. You go back to the West Linn CompRite, which has never given you a problem in several years, because you prefer honesty and reliability over being open on Saturday. read more

Three times this week I stopped by the store for my computer to be repaired.They were closed durring business hours they had posted on the door. VERY FRUSTRATING. I finally found them open and dropped off my computer. Was told I could pick it up on Saturday as they would be open. Again, I went to pick up my computer on Saturday at 3pm and they were closed (Sat.close time is 4pm)! They also did not call me as promised with a quote before starting work on my computer. I am glad I found Comprite, the LO store. My a year and half old 16" MacBook Pro had water damage. There was a thick black vertical bar in the middle of screen. I first brought it to Apple Store, and they told me it's $700 or $800 to open "just to diagnose." I was like I could add a few hundred dollars to buy a MacBook Air!! I went home. I asked around what to do.. My good friend told me about Comprite. I brought it in, and they fixed it within a week. There was NOT a diagnose fee. They cleaned out the moisture and changed the motherboard. It was less than $600. I am okay with that. Great customer service. :) read more

Dear Paul, I thought you were wonderful and loved the job you did with my phone. I sent my husband to your Lake Oswego store, only to find you are no longer there but another person there named, Daniel . We are trying to replace an Apple phone no longer being supported by Apple. The phone belongs to my 98-year-old mother and she needs this to be able to contact us as she lives out of town. We had been told by Daniel that the phones would be in the beginning of Thanksgiving week. On Wednesday, my husband went to exchange for a replacement iPhone 8. He was told at that time that they were in route for delivery, but had not yet arrived. Daniel said to come back the next day, Thanksgiving day, and that he would be there from 12 until three. My husband went back during those hours and there was no one there. He again returned to the store on Friday and Daniel said he was in earlier on Thanksgiving day. Daniel then explained that he could replace it with an iPhone 7 and save some money. My husband left my mothers phone and Daniel said he would take care of transferring it over to the replacement phone. He said there had been some trouble transferring over the information from her older phone and he had to go to another location to use an older computer. He said he was in Gresham and would have the phone back in Lake Oswego by 1pm. He did not have the phone back by one and the store was closed. My husband called and Daniel said it was taking a little longer than he expected but he would be back by two. Daniel was not back by two and the store was closed and Daniel was still not back by three and the store was closed and he would not respond to our phone calls or text or texts. Paul please help us. In reading other reviews it appears Daniel is a grade A flake! I'm worried my 98 year old mother will have a medical emergency and no way to reach me. It's a very scary position to be in. HELP! We now have no phone and no communication with my 98 year old mother who has been exposed to Covid. Sunday left another message and went to store again. No one there and no answer. This is after Daniel said they are there 365 days a year. He's a liar! My husband is heading back to the store today to just try and get the phone back. Hopefully they haven't fried the information. Stay away from this store. They are liars and don't do what they say or follow through on anything. I'm considering calling the police as this is an emergency situation with my mother . Got the phone back finally but not until he lied about it having a cracked screen from overheating and he also said it was at another location. Both lies! OK well I am really grateful to find this young man who immediately felt like family to me. I mean I think he does things like you know "how I would treat my Grandma". That's how loving he is in the work that he does. He may be swamped and slow to respond that is because he is slammed, trust me he is worth the wait!! My iPhone stopped working in my car, CarPlay was not connecting any longer, I was very angry about it. I thought it was the Apple update I did yesterday and I have no idea how to return it to the state it was in yesterday. I asked Paul about it and he said oh yeah I bet it's the cord. This should offer a ZERO rating. Don't take my word for it read the reviews- the poor reviews which began when the business was sold and the new owner took over. New owner is Daniel. Daniel offers terrible service...the absolute worst service I've seen. We previously had taken our computers into Paul at Comprite (previous owner) and he was knowledgeable and offered great customer service, I brought my apple computer into Comprite in December 2022 to replace a cracked screen - there was absolutely nothing wrong with computer other than a cracked screen- Daniel kept computer for over 3 weeks and did nothing with it (even though he committed it would take 2 days to repair. We kept coming back numerous times per Daniel's request and store was constantly closed and he wouldn't respond to calls or messages. It took 3 weeks and finally I was able to get my computer back. The computer was picked it up and when I got it home I discovered the screen did not work. I made several attempts to catch him at the store - which never seemed to be open during the hours posted. Finally after several days I waited outside the store front along with several other pissed customers who had experienced the same song as dance. They had all voiced the same experiences I had had with Daniel. I doubt that the screen he replaced (selling as new ) was actually new. He tried to quickly solve the problem by replacing it with another screen off another computer, that happened to not even be the correct screen for my specific computer. During the process it was evident he had little knowledge of what he was doing. and at one point my computer began smoking. At this point I gave up and took my computer so tired of listening to him lie through his teeth. I took my computer to apple and they indicated that it smoking while he was making the repair was a very bad sign and encouraged me to do whatever I could to assure my data was backed up and that it was a matter of time before my computer failed. I had to end up buying a new computer. Daniel (knowing it was his screw up for damaging my computer, offered me a replacement computer comparable to mine. After several days straight of him saying "the computer's in route and should be at store within the hour" my husband finally was able to pick up the replacement along with a few of our office computers that he had also screwed up back up and had an entire month. I immediately tried charging the "replacement" computer and its a DOA. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone and will be contacting the BBB. Hopefully this review saves someone else the trouble and damage to their computer in the future. read more

These guys are utterly fabulous. Lifesavers all the way! I dropped my phone into the ocean on vacation in Cabo, and even after placing it into rice for 2 days, it was completely fried. I took it in as soon as I got back, and Paul walked me through options. First, they tried to save it by taking it through a very complicated and meticulous drying process. They'll also give you a loaner phone in the meantime in case you need it. The drying process unfortunately did not work, but Paul called me same day and walked me through the next set of options. My replacement phone is being shipped by my carrier, and they're helping me ensure my icloud is properly backed up in the meantime so I won't lose anything important. Nobody cares more about preserving your business, working quickly/efficiently to repair your device, and doing all this work while treating you like a respected and valued client. I dropped my phone yesterday and the screen turned black, I was hearing ringtones and texts but nothing on the screen! I thought I was hopeless and found the nearest place in the area with my friends phone and CompRite popped up. Not only did he get it fixed and good as new but he did it in 30 minutes as I waited and watched some tv. He had customers coming in and out dropping devices off and picking up but he was still able to do it so quick. I will be back! I got a beautiful replacement screen that doesn't work very well. My cracked screen worked better. I told the guy working behind the counter the screen had issues..... But it appears I couldn't reproduce the issue in the short amount of time I had. Apparently the only way a warranty works is if the phantom gripe can be reproduced in front of the man behind the red curtain. Not going here again. I hope they fix my jacked up phone. Not keeping my hopes up. I came back to get my phone fixed. They replaced my screen with another screen after they noticed the screen was separating from the iPhone. Now my phone screen jitters back and forth and the touch screen is non-responsive. It affects every app I have. They called me up to check up on the phone. I told them the problem I was having and was not going to change my review. I told them goodbye and I was not coming back.
