First timer at Hyphy Burger! Was too hungry, so didn't get to capture the greatness. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my meal here. They're big portions and I didn't need to order fries. I really liked the sauce they have, and it was perfectly cooked meat. Additionally, they had yummy peppers and it made everything more flavorful. I should've asked for grilled onions but that's the only complaint I have - they weren't cooked to my liking.

The never ending quest for the greatest burger is well never ending. Hyphy Burger has been on our radar for a short period and by change we were close so we stopped in. Wow we were pretty impressed. The burger landed in a 2 way tie in 3rd place. Cool and fun decor, and had a convenient amount of parking. The staff was awesome. Friendly and on point. The Food: Burnout Burger + pastrami: Okay there are two things I will ALWAYS get on a burger if available: a fried egg or pastrami. The burger was excellent. The bun was soft and spongy but held up till the last bite. The patty had the perfect crispy smash burger quality to it and the pickles and peperonchini added a bit of salty crunch to things. The cheese added richness as did the pastrami. You Feel me Sauce was a perfect accompaniment. It seemed to have bread and butter pickle brine in it and it and I could probably eat it with just a spoon. The grilled onion added a sweet unami element as well. Loaded Fries: OMG this one was good as well. basically take everything from the burger down to the patty and put it on fries. Good god man the whole ensemble coupled with a few of the fries with their salty goodness and you have a perfect bite. Captain Crunch Shake: Think and creamy and the cereal added a textural element to it. I would advice a fast consumption however as the cereal get soggy pretty quickly. You add in this that everything is reasonably prices... nay a real bargain and its a total winner 6 stars if Yelp would let me Burger standings 1) The Office Burger - Fathers Office - Los Angeles, CA 2) The Best Damn Cheeseburger - 4505 Burger and BBQ, San Francisco, CA 3) Tie: Burger - Moo's Craft BBQ- Los Angeles, CA 3) Tie: Burnout Burger + Pastrami: Hyphy Burger, Oakland, CA 4) Tie: Ed's Favorite, King City Grill, King City, CA 4) Tie: Bacon Cheeseburger - Cafe Arbor, Stanford, CA 6) The Big Boy, Big Boy, Indian Springs, NV 7) The Hot Farmer, The Barn, Half Moon Bay, CA 8) The C&H Burger, Clove and Hoof, Oakland, CA 9) Cheese Burger, Sketchers Food Spot, Gardenia, CA 10) Burger, Dad's Luncheonette, Half Moon Bay, CA 11) Single Burger, Paper Plate, Long Island City, NY 12) Breakwater Burger, Breakwater BBQ, El Granada, CA

They done did the town proud!!! The Hyphy Burger was HELLA good!! The loaded fries were bomb! The burger definitely needed the two patties because they were so smashed it's almost paper thin. Flavors on point for everything. I only wished that the burger was bigger because I finished it in a minute.

I got turned around in Oakland and found myself at the light facing hyphy burger! I had seen it advertised on social media and decided to stop in and grab a bite. The parking lot was crowded with a bunch of people hanging out in cars standing around outside and at first I felt a little nervous about parking and going in. After a few minutes of assessing the situation, It seemed ok so I got out and went inside. Once inside, it seemed very light fun and casual. The employees don't seem to wear uniforms - instead they wear all different shirts with hyphy burger on them and jeans. The menu is simple - burgers, fries shakes and drinks and I noticed the menu said there was a new pastrami sandwich. The burger was OUTSTANDING!! ! The potato bum was very soft and fresh. The meat was a smash burger and it was hot and well seasoned. The fries were nothing really special but they were hot and fresh, which is very important to me! The decor inside is very simple with a few colorful tables and chairs. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected since it wasn't too crowded, but the burger was well worth the wait. If I ever find myself in the area I'd definitely stop in again! This burger joint is Kym approved!

Hyphy Burger recently opened in a vacated Kentucky Fried Chicken store. Everything Everywhere all at once the decor & ambiance resembled what the lst location exuded. Organized & owned by various people in the community, they founded Hyphy Burger as a place their community could enjoy healthy fast food. Rapper Akeem Hayes, local food influencer Bay Area Foodz, local entrepreneurs brothers Fakri & Zaharia Alwajeeh joined with Julian Ervin to open Hyphy Burger. Hyphy is the default loud music one hears upon entering H.B. It was created in Oakland decades ago. Location and seating smaller than Grand location. Proposed drive thru not operational when I went. Offerings: smash/pastrami/vegan burger, fries, stunna shakes, drinks, mini donuts.. Bites: Burnout burger (9.99) ready in 7ish minutes -2 small beef patties with crisp edges, juicy innards covered with pepper Jack and American cheese, grilled onions, lotsa banana peppers. Feel me sauce, jalepenos within 2 toasted buns. -so deliz with every bite. Slurps: Stunna Shake (Oreo-5.99) -came 12 minutes later at different location than burger. -very thick & sweet shake with many pieces of Oreo cookies. Seems added sweetness added. *difficult to hear numbers called out due to Loud music. 5 stars Worthy! Quantity/Quality: Great Value!

Looking for a place to eat on the intersection of 98th and International in East Oakland?! You can't miss this restaurant when you pass by it, because its exterior is all bright colors, with HYPHY BURGER tagged in loud yellow paint across the side. There's also a refurbished minibus parked out front, tagged with more phrases, including HYPHY, GAS BREAK DIP, YOU FEEL ME, and more. This place definitely looks like a burger joint with a drive-thru, mercifully eschewing the barren design aesthetic that has ruled us for decades now. Walk in the door and you'll be greeted with a dining room that's spare and yet boisterous all at once. Hyphy Burger feels like a neighborhood quick-service restaurant where everyone knows everyone, which gives it the correct ambience for eating a hamburger in the sloppiest possible fashion. After looking at the menu, I was now ready to order & chow down! (and I only had ordered a burger & a soda) LOL! Burgers at Hyphy come one of only two ways. You can get a regular Hyphy Burger, complete with two patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled onions and "You Feel Me" sauce. You can also get a Burnout Burger, which adds jalapeños, peperoncini and pepper jack cheese to the proceedings. Apart from the requisite fries, there are no other add-ons or sides offered, so don't bother asking for bacon or frizzled onions or any of those other goodies. You get what you get at Hyphy. It's that kind of place. So what's the hype with the Hyphy Burger if you may ask? You can say that it's a customized double cheeseburger. The two patties were smashed down on the griddle, greased with American cheese, and then stuffed inside a potato bun that looked pre-squished. Don't let that deter you - as I customized mine by adding lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions - messy but hefty. If you know your burgers, you know that sloppiness is a feature, not a bug. Try it out for yourself, and know that this is worth the hype!

Son wanted to try this trendy spot. There are two locations this one just opened recently and the original first one is in West Oakland. This particular one your navigation should make you exit the Hegenberger exit from Nimitz 880 freeway which is about one exit from 98th avenue exit Oakland Airport. First of all on International and East 14 th this is not exactly your safest place but the building sticks out like a sore thumb . Once you're inside it's like a 360 degrees transformation so clean an pristine no litter everywhere bathroom are for customers only etc. I felt safe inside eve though there was not a security guard . They have a drive thru but we decided to come order inside and get the real vibe. Not busy at all one person ahead of us . One hyphy burger loaded fries and fruity pebble shake. Son loved it. I like the fact it's close to Oakland airport which I frequent a lot drops and pickups. I was really surprised by the training and professionalism of the two young employees we interacted with. On the border of San Leandro which is much cleaner area. I would pass coming here late at night just for safety concerns. I did see a lot of cops patrolling so we did feel safe. Also Ghirardelli is a few miles is you want a sundae without going touristy SF. They nailed it with the color scheme school bus logos and artwork. 5/5

I'm giving 2 stars because of the brunch food. Just an FYI…read moreI'm a vegetarian and I'm in the process of cutting out all animal products, therefore, I'm trying out vegan spots and cook a lot of vegan food. I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.

The sandwich has three elements: bun, chicken (or tofu), and coleslaw. The strongest is the chicken: afried breast with thick batter that makes a satisfying crunch and contains enough black pepper to bring some warmth. The coleslaw is heaped on and becomes its own substantial event. It could be part of the greatness but for two drawbacks. First, there is a lot of oil in the coleslaw. Maybe it could work for a grilled chicken sandwich, but a fried one already brings the oil. Second, shrinkflation came for the bun. Holding the thing together is a challenge. However much, the plain bread used to soak up the slaw oil, there is just not enough bun to do it now. But here's the catch: there are at least two great upscale fried chicken sandwiches just down the road. BSB is a good take on what the chicken sandwich can be, but I wouldn't make it a regular spot.

Yes, it's all vegan and yes, they've got all your sweet cravings covered. The classics are present of course, simple glazed and sprinkled little numbers that live up to the highest standards of childhood nostalgia, to more inventive flavors like matcha, blueberry, maple "bacon," or cookies and cream. Don't get me started on the apple fritters, which are the size of a dinner plate and loaded with soft, spiced apple chunks. It's hard to restrain yourself from ordering one of everything, especially because they really are cheaper by the dozen. Besides, when was the last time you had a bear claw? Or a maple bar? Or a Boston cream doughnut? Further complicating the final order is the incredibly kind owner, always at the counter, who's liable to throw in a free doughnut hole or two to reward such enthusiasm. Though it's impossible to resist the colorful magnetism of the front display, don't gloss over the other half of the shop's name. Soy-based gelato is made in house with rotating seasonal flavors, offered by the scoop or wedged into an outrageous doughnut sandwich assembly. I can only speak for the eggnog flavor which is of course long gone at this point, but I truly hope it makes an early come back. The flawlessly smooth, creamy texture is better than almost all prepacked options scooped out of a carton, and possibly one of the best in the bay. It may get overshadowed by the deep fried delights, but you won't regret topping off your treats with an extra frozen spoonful... Well, unless you've already eaten your weight in cinnamon twists. The pickles had a nice crunch, and the "meaty" parts were savory goodness. Would def get again. The summer rolls come 2 per order; using a bit of lettuce of separate them was a nice touch. Slightly preferred the savory "fish sauce" especially after I soaked the jalapeños in it. The peanut sauce was a little sweet for me so prolly would have enjoyed more with some chili sauce. The shredded pork was a fun, slightly bouncy texture. Also bought a lemongrass beef banh mi but didn't have room, so looking forward ti lunch tomorrow.

I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking.
