Finally got a chance to try this place. Would I come back? Maybe. I got the Hyphy Burger, onion rings, and their Biscoff donuts. Overall, the burger was pretty small, especially for the price you pay. The onion rings were good, and the donuts were good too. We came by right when it opened so it was empty. We were greeted by a gentleman that took our order at the cashier and the other half did the self service at the kiosk. Service was quick. Private parking lot. Plenty of seats indoors nice and clean very colorful decor. One window had a bunch of dead flies... Fries were delicious! Smash burger was okay. Sauce was good! The never ending quest for the greatest burger is well never ending. Hyphy Burger has been on our radar for a short period and by change we were close so we stopped in. Wow we were pretty impressed. The burger landed in a 2 way tie in 3rd place. Cool and fun decor, and had a convenient amount of parking. The staff was awesome. Friendly and on point. The Food: Burnout Burger + pastrami: Okay there are two things I will ALWAYS get on a burger if available: a fried egg or pastrami. The burger was excellent. The bun was soft and spongy but held up till the last bite. The patty had the perfect crispy smash burger quality to it and the pickles and peperonchini added a bit of salty crunch to things. The cheese added richness as did the pastrami. You Feel me Sauce was a perfect accompaniment. It seemed to have bread and butter pickle brine in it and it and I could probably eat it with just a spoon. The grilled onion added a sweet unami element as well. Loaded Fries: OMG this one was good as well. basically take everything from the burger down to the patty and put it on fries. Good god man the whole ensemble coupled with a few of the fries with their salty goodness and you have a perfect bite. Captain Crunch Shake: Think and creamy and the cereal added a textural element to it. I would advice a fast consumption however as the cereal get soggy pretty quickly. I got turned around in Oakland and found myself at the light facing hyphy burger! I had seen it advertised on social media and decided to stop in and grab a bite. The parking lot was crowded with a bunch of people hanging out in cars standing around outside and at first I felt a little nervous about parking and going in. After a few minutes of assessing the situation, It seemed ok so I got out and went inside. Once inside, it seemed very light fun and casual. The employees don't seem to wear uniforms - instead they wear all different shirts with hyphy burger on them and jeans. The menu is simple - burgers, fries shakes and drinks and I noticed the menu said there was a new pastrami sandwich. The burger was OUTSTANDING!! ! The potato bum was very soft and fresh. The meat was a smash burger and it was hot and well seasoned. The fries were nothing really special but they were hot and fresh, which is very important to me! The decor inside is very simple with a few colorful tables and chairs. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected since it wasn't too crowded, but the burger was well worth the wait. Hyphy is the default loud music one hears upon entering H.B. It was created in Oakland decades ago. Location and seating smaller than Grand location. Proposed drive thru not operational when I went. Offerings: smash/pastrami/vegan burger, fries, stunna shakes, drinks, mini donuts.. Bites: Burnout burger (9.99) ready in 7ish minutes -2 small beef patties with crisp edges, juicy innards covered with pepper Jack and American cheese, grilled onions, lotsa banana peppers. Feel me sauce, jalepenos within 2 toasted buns. -so deliz with every bite. You can't miss this restaurant when you pass by it, because its exterior is all bright colors, with HYPHY BURGER tagged in loud yellow paint across the side. Hyphy Burger feels like a neighborhood quick-service restaurant where everyone knows everyone, which gives it the correct ambience for eating a hamburger in the sloppiest possible fashion. After looking at the menu, I was now ready to order & chow down! (and I only had ordered a burger & a soda) LOL! Burgers at Hyphy come one of only two ways. Another Hyphy Burger just opened up near me, so you know I had to slide through and see what the hype was about. From the outside, the spot looks dope -- straight Bay Area vibes, you can feel the culture as soon as you pull up. Inside, it still looks clean and fresh -- feels like they're still putting some final touches together, but the energy's good. The team was super friendly, and I like how they've got two lines -- one for cash and one for card -- makes it quick and easy for everyone. My partner went with the Hyphy Burger, and I had to try the Burnout Burger -- two beef patties, American cheese, "You Feel Me" sauce, grilled onions, banana peppers, and jalapeños. And of course, I added pastrami -- had to do it! They said it'd be about a 15-minute wait, but our food came out in half that time (wasn't too busy though, so that might change during rush hour). The burger was fire -- juicy but still had that crispy edge. The caramelized onions added a nice sweetness that balanced out the seasoned patties. The banana peppers and jalapeños brought the heat -- not overpowering, just that perfect kick to keep you going back for another bite. Wow this is as good as it's gets. Been to the flagship 1st location which is hit or miss with parking and the the crowds. Glad this one opened at the old KFC spot. As I was going to order at the kiosk, Mario greeted me like family and took my order. Since it's toasty outside, I needed a shake. Asked what he recommended and delivered. Okay. So. I stopped by because it was in the neighborhood. I placed an order on the order kiosk. The employee was dealing with a houseless person, and was trying to get them off the premises. It took about 20 minutes for my order; even though there was only 1 person ahead of me. The tables were dirty, and the table I was sitting at (the least dirty) was really wonky. Rolled up on a Saturday night - immediately you could see the parking lot was well-lit, but empty, and there was no line at the drive thru. I walked in to no line and one small family eating inside. The place was clean and had bright lighting inside. I was greeted by two workers, one took my order; however, didn't seem very helpful with the menu when asked questions about some of the items. I ordered 2 Hyphy Burgers and 1 Loaded Fries to-go and the wait was about 10 minutes or less. They have the utensils, napkins, and straws near the registers. Before heading out, I noticed there was a sign that said the restroom is for employees only. The food smelled good, but once I got to my stop and took a bite of the Hyphy Burger, I was in burger heaven! The two thin smashed patties, 2 slices of American cheese, the "you feel me sauce," and grilled onions was SO delicious. The meat was tender, it had a lot of flavor. They made it really well, but the only gripe I had was the smashed patties were just too thin. Honestly, if you combined both of the patties, it'd barely make one regular burger. Nonetheless, this is probably my favorite burger compared to Habit Burger or another burger joint. The loaded fries had a nice pepper seasoning on it along with the beef patty and American cheese on it with the "you feel me" sauce. The fries resembled McDonald shaped fries, but they were perfectly made (slight soggier to my liking), which I really enjoyed a lot. After this first visit, I'm planning my next one to include a shake! FYI - the pricing for the Hyphy Burger ($8.99) is cheaper than other smash burger spots (~$10.00+). We came here around 7 PM on a Sunday night. The drive-through was pretty empty, with only two cars ahead of us, so the wait was reasonable about 15 minutes to get our order. We ordered for a family of four: two Hyphy Burger combos, two Burnout Burger combos with all the toppings and veggies, plus a lemonade, an Oreo shake, a Fruity Pebbles shake, and a Cocoa Pebbles shake. I did notice that the menu is slightly different from their Oakland (Grand Avenue) location, which was a bit disappointing since that location offers more shake flavors. The burgers were good overall. I don't handle spice very well, but I still enjoyed the Burnout Burger. There were plenty of meat juices dripping from the burger, which is always a good sign. The flavors were solid, and I can see why people crave these burgers. The fries were simple but nicely seasoned with black pepper, which gave them a slightly different twist. What really stood out were the shakes. They were easy to drink, not overly heavy, and had a generous amount of toppings throughout. Let me start with the customer service, the young lady in the front was so kind and so nice top-tier customer service. I had the Hyphe and it was delicious. It was truly a smashed burger. The patty was thin and crispy and seasoned well not too salty. The fries are also crispy, but they do put a lot of black pepper on it so if you don't like black pepper on your fries, you need to let them know when you order. My daughter had the vanilla milkshake and she really liked it. They also have tiny donuts, I'll be back to try more stuff. read more

Meaning they may only have 3 burger options which you can customize, the quality is pretty dang good and they "special" sauce SMACKS!! I always order their hyphey burger which is 2 smash patties, cheese, grilled onions and they special sauce and it' satisfies:) The fries also pair well with the sauce and the burger and the seasoning on the fries adds that extra flavor which looks like pepper but I can be mistaken but I always get EXTRA SEASONING cuz it's really good. They also got some milk shakes that sound sooo good but I haven't tried any yet but when I do, I'll update yall. But overall this place is SMACKALACKIN!! Son wanted to try this trendy spot. There are two locations this one just opened recently and the original first one is in West Oakland. This particular one your navigation should make you exit the Hegenberger exit from Nimitz 880 freeway which is about one exit from 98th avenue exit Oakland Airport. First of all on International and East 14 th this is not exactly your safest place but the building sticks out like a sore thumb . Once you're inside it's like a 360 degrees transformation so clean an pristine no litter everywhere bathroom are for customers only etc. I felt safe inside eve though there was not a security guard . They have a drive thru but we decided to come order inside and get the real vibe. Not busy at all one person ahead of us . One hyphy burger loaded fries and fruity pebble shake. Son loved it. I like the fact it's close to Oakland airport which I frequent a lot drops and pickups. I was really surprised by the training and professionalism of the two young employees we interacted with. On the border of San Leandro which is much cleaner area. I would pass coming here late at night just for safety concerns. I did see a lot of cops patrolling so we did feel safe. Also Ghirardelli is a few miles is you want a sundae without going touristy SF. They nailed it with the color scheme school bus logos and artwork. 5/5 read more

I was texted that my food was ready so went to the counter to pick it up but no one would acknowledge me. An uber eats person came in after me and was standing behind me but somehow got greeted and given his food. I thought at least I would be helped next but the young lady walked straight to the back and ignored me. The parking area is small, but we were still able to park right in front. When we walked in, we waited for a bit only to find out it's self-service and i believe anyone walking in at that time was also thinking the same.
