I told him that his quote was way more than the quotes I got from other companies (50% more), he become some kind of angry. He said "I am not going to use the junk shingles that Home Depot is selling, I am going to use the very best shingles". I asked what shingles he was going to use, he said "Owens Corning". Well, Home Depot sells Owens Corning shingles. I am giving this review three stars as I feel they did a very good job on our roof repair however, there were a lot of negatives. Our roof was falling apart, however this communication is terrible. I believe his name is Abergel as that what his email states, but he went by Rey... him and his workers had terrible communication. We were told they weren't showing up on Memorial Day, however they did. We were told the roof was complete, but it wasn't. Pictures attached. They reused the same roof tiles... And I asked once the tile was off if he could clean them and he said yes. After the job was complete, I asked again if they were going to clean them, and he said that they were not going to. I was very frustrated with their response to that. When he came to the job to look at the roof, we walked around the house, but we never got on top of the roof or was shown pictures of what the roof looks like up top. I thought that was a very negative part to the whole experience, as they should have shown pictures of what the completed job looked like. They left all sorts of trash: cigarettes, nails, water bottles, energy drink cans, and the felt paper trash all around our house. I asked him to have someone come by and pick it up, and he said that he would. He asked if I would be home on Saturday all day and I said yes. No one showed up and when I reached out to him he responded at 4 PM and said no one can come today. Can they come tomorrow. I never responded because I at this point felt they didn't care, nor did they respect the cleanup aspect to the job. I felt that all they cared about was getting paid. The cleanup never happened, he asked if I would be home another day all day. I responded to him and told him that I am tired of waiting around all day and no one shows up and there is no communication, pictures of our text messaging thread attached. Also, they cut a screen door & drilled holes into our bathroom. We told Rey, he asked to see pictures but never did one thing about it. More like an "oh well" attitude. My husband had to go to the store to fill the holes and the screen door we will have to fix at a later date. I know it is to be expected that things may break or tear in a job, but the lack of care was frustrating, basically only cared about getting paid. Again wasn't completely terrible job but it was very frustrating to deal with this lack of communication and terrible after care. Also to mention, non of the workers speak Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish, good luck. They are supposed to have one guy at the job site that speaks English but there was a few days that they didn't. On the days they didn't have anyone speaking English, they spliced our internet line on a Saturday and another time they put the extra tiles in the wrong area. I guess we will see come rainfall how the roof holds up. Note to self and future customers if you plan on going with this company wait to make last payment until the entire clean up is done correctly!!!! read more

Based on reviews on Nextdoor, I recently used Arana for roof repairs on a small office building. After they replaced the paper and reinstalled the tiles, instead of straight rows as originally installed, the rows were wavy. After several discussions with them, they would only fix a small section of the wavy tiles. It didn't seem to matter to them that the repair looked sloppy and unprofessional. They kept telling me it was okay, and that the roof wouldn't leak. I finally gave up and will live with a second rate job. I've had repairs done on the same roof by several other roofers, and they did such a good job that I can't tell where the repairs were done. Based on that experience, I will go back to my old roofer and will never use Arana again. read more

My insurance company needed a certificate that my roof was in good shape to renew my insurance and Arana Roofing (Avi) was able to come out quickly, assess what was going on, and come back for repairs the next day. The repairs involved resealing most of the inlets, pipes, and chimney cap with pro grade white silicone. And my insurance company accepted their invoice. The speed and quality of the work as well as Avi being a nice guy to get along with gets 4 stars. The minus star is for some of the communication and the follow up: * We had agreed on a price ahead of time but he called to ask for more money to do optional additional work on something during the repairs that was not discussed after the initial inspection. * One of the repair items I mentioned during the price discussion didn't end up getting fixed, for common reasons that could've been mentioned ahead of time. * Getting a hold of him to get the necessary invoice afterward required a lot of pushing on my part. Overall, they do good work but be sure to be very explicit and upfront about what you're getting out of the work and get everything you need out of them upfront before handing over full payment. Update: Avi called me after I wrote this review and explained that the additional work he called me about was purely optional and why it was difficult for him to provide me a referral for the unfixed repair item. While it would've been nicer to get this info at the time of the repair, I still bumped the review up half a star for taking the customer seriously. read more

Arana replaced the tile portion of the roof on my 1,200-square-foot house and did a silicone coating over the flat portion. I had four roofing contractors come out and Arana was not the highest bid or the lowest. But I had many questions about materials and Arana did the best job of answering, plus the company had the most extensive body of reviews. During the sales pitch, the project manager used the phrase "no surprises" three times, and he lived up to that -- the demolition didn't turn up any hidden damage that added to costs, as the shady roofers so often find. The bright white silicone coating already seems to be lowering temps inside my house (this is being written in August). The workers were responsive when I pointed out a lot of small spots for silicone touch-up. No mess was left. And the project started and ended at the projected times, no small miracle. Update: The first rainstorm after the installation revealed a leak in my garage. I called Arana and they sent a couple guys to fix it the next day. No other problems so far. One other aspect of silicone roof coating has become apparent: It's relatively soft and delicate. I would not walk on it in hard-soled boots, and if you were to drop something sharp and heavy on it, like a roofing hammer, you'll probably get a gash needing a patch of silicone. read more

Noe Arana and his crew were amazing. We had our house re-roofed in Studio City. The price was very reasonable, they were able to start the job really quickly and within a week it was done. Those guys worked amazingly hard. The crew that removed the old shingles did it in a day and left the area around the house clean as can be, which I couldn't believe since it is a messy task. BUYER BEWARE. Avi handled the roof repairs on my four unit building in April and May 2023, totaling over $6,000. I got written warranties for both jobs, for 5 years material and 6 months labor on one invoice, and two years material and flat roof one year on the other invoice. In August 2023, leaks occurred in exactly the same spots where the earlier repairs were done. I tried calling Avi but the mailbox was full. I tried emailing Avi, twice in three days, but I got no response. So it would seem that Arana Roofing and Avi are ignoring me and thus not honoring their warranties. If I do not hear from Avi, I intend to file a claim in Small Claims Court. So I would suggest that buyers look elsewhere for a roofer because even with a warranty, Arana Roofers of Encino don't perform. read more

I would highly recommend Arana Roofing based on my experience with Avi in repairing my leaky roof. I called Avi on a Saturday morning to explain my issue and he came within two hours. After his assessment he determined the leak was coming from the angle on my roof pitch where the tile was raising. He sealed the area and around all the pipes on the roof. He inspected my skylights and everything else looked great. He was not expensive and the value to my home was restored. I got his name and number from my sister that had an even better experience. She was told by two other roofing companies that she needed to replace her 5 year old roof. Avi came out and determined that the previous company did not use the proper ridge caps on the top corner points of the roof instead they bent the roof tiles to create the ridge caps. He corrected my sister's issue at a fraction of the costs if she would have listened to these other companies.
