This Concourse Village Häagen-Dazs- not far off from Hostos, was a savior after we wrapped up with early Saturday dinner in Flushing. Quite honestly, it's been eons since I've been in this area so it was a surprise(?) to know Häagen D. is a fixture in these South Bronx parts. There are large Häagen-Ds around and then there are small ones. This, is microscopic. The type where you're forced to walk sideways and dodge bumping into people while also avoiding anybody's air. Anyhow. The ONLY guy working here wasn't phased at all by hubs and I and, the other 4 people behind us waiting while a woman was moronically asking for samples. But the guy- with all the patience in the world, was pleasant. I settled on a wonderful vanilla-based ice cream+chunky caramel+crunchy something and a chocolate ice cream with like pretzelly things and brownie bits I think. Both divine. This particular location isn't breaking any ice cream conventions. Apart from the one-man show here, this is a clear example of appearances are deceiving. And to their defense, between my 2 scoops and hubs' Mango sorbet- they were both fresh-tasting and didn't have that gross freezer burn taste in this South Boogie Häagen-D. read more

I came out of my afternoon class wanting to treat myself, I walked in the establishment was not even welcome nor acknowledged. This was my first experience at this shop--I did not know what I wanted to order yet, so I proceeded to tell the couple behind me to go ahead before me. the shop was not empty. I asked the employee for a sample. he agreed and gave me a flavor of his own pick ( which I suggested) then I asked for a second sample of my own choice . I seen there was a new flavor exclusively for in store only. I asked if I could have one last sample before making my decision and was given attitude and yelled at being told "This is a shop you either pick or leave " I then told him I would rather not even purchase any ice cream. this is unacceptable behavior when he instead could've told me from the beginning if there was a limit on samples. esp since I was nothing but kind comming in and even asking for samples read more

Not pleased with the customer service of the Indian guy with the glasses who refused to change my item that was wrong.

I am so annoyed with the nasty customer service here. The Indian guy (who I assume is the owner/manager) was so disrespectful. I went to get two scoops in a cup with my boyfriend, but we couldn't decide on the flavors, so we debated for a bit. A Latina associate was helping us. Out of nowhere, the manager interferes for no reason (and already looked annoyed from the previous teens who had come in). He aggressively asks which flavors we want as if in a rush, yet we were the only customers in there. Then when we went to pay, I tell him I have the app and he rudely says, "Scan it yourself," but it doesn't work. Lastly, I ask for a receipt ahead of time because they tend to throw it out and he says, "You have to WAIT" in a frustrated tone. If you hate your job, don't take it out on other people. Don't work in this industry and give this brand a bad name. Next time, I won't hold back my tongue. read more

Beware - these hot dogs REALLY don't taste like hotdogs. For starters, the actual sausage wasn't even hot - was served to me freezing cold. And the flavor was kinda off - weirdly tasted a little chocolatey. Also, the bun was crispy and cone shaped. Not a hotdog bun at all if you ask me! Will be coming again, though. Whenever I need to get my Dulce de Leche fix, I come here. The staff is incredibly friendly and they make my Dulce de Leche Dazzler with so much care and attention, I feel like a special princess!! Since it was established, the Haagen Daz' name is foremost associated and known for its ice cream. My review did not critique the quality of the ice cream, but the quantity. Your shop seems to be going the way of most food industries, increase the price and reduce quantity. Tourists and occasional customers may not notice the difference. However, this certainly is no way to treat regular loyal customers, nor customers period!!! How you treat your customers will determine whether they continue to return. read more

Small shop with no chairs but no big deal. Staff was very friendly and efficient. The problem is the ice cream itself. I am too familiar with Haagen Dazs ice cream, I have it all the time. The taste was off and it melted super fast, literally started dripping a minute after I got it. It also didn't taste like Hagen Daz, it tasted like something....cheaper. I don't know if this is simply an issue with how they refrigerate the ice cream or if this can be more sinister like them selling cheap ice cream as Haagen Dazs. I ordered two milkshakes and a waffle cone bowl via uber eats. My order took an hour to be delivered. And when it arrived, one milkshake cover was not on fully so 1/3 of the shake was on the bottom of the bag. Both shakes turned out to be watery and melted when I took them out of the bag. And the waffle cone bowl did not come, instead it was a waffle cone regular shape and the ice cream was in a cup that was upside down in the bag. When the delivery person came I asked them to call when he/she was in the lobby, they called and asked me to come downstairs. When I arrived downstairs, the security gaurd told me that the delivery person had taken the other elevator. Why did the delivery person not tell me this? So I went back up stairs in the elevator and actually had to go looking for the delivery person on my floor. She was walking back and forth trying to find my apartment. Apparently, she was not the one on the phone who called me because she did not speak English and I do not speak Spanish. Why were they two different people? This is horrible service from Haagen Dazs, I would expect better form them. read more

Usually I have a good time when I visit your shop but today my experience was horrible. I walk in one employee is having a conversation with two customer who she is obviously is friends with and the other employee a man with glasses disregarded me even when I introduced my self to him. He went to looking at a tablet and did not consider to even take my order. Only after waiting for the female worker to finish her conversation that I got asked if I was served. Then the female worker seemed very passive aggressive towards me. Even when I got my dazzler order, that was not even what I wanted. I told her I needed at banana split dazzler with no pineapple and she didn't even that right and instead gave me a completely different dazzler. The ice cream is fine but the service is atrocious ; I ordered a 5$ milkshake and I expect it to be up to par but instead I received a regular chocolate milkshake I could've payed 1$ for in McDonalds & the milkshake didn't even have whip cream or the chocolate syrup which it has on the picture. Also , the milkshake was very watery and had lumps, if you want milkshakes this is not the place to go & if I ever return I would let the manager know how I want it. read more
