I had a "friend" start a new computer build. It didn't go well, and I found myself with a partially built system and unused parts. From Glen F. This has to do with an experience had back in the summer of 2024. As I remember it was a rainy Monday afternoon when I first took the laptop down to have it given a diagnostics about why I was getting no internet access anymore. After the diagnostic I was told that the old Acer laptop adapter and connecting cord no longer were working due to age. I was sold a new adapter and cord as a result. Only weeks later this same power cord and AC adapter had themselves stopped working. I remember it was the Friday before Labor Day when I had late in the afternoon came by with the laptop again and with the adapter I was sold. They got retested on the diagnostics equipment with the computer and I was told that those cords would have to be replaced. I don't understand why I would be sold power cords that would die out in only a few weeks. When I was there the technician told me that he would order the proper parts that I would need that had included a new laptop battery. That I would only be charged for the new battery and not the AC adapter and cord. Yet I was given no receipt at the counter to prove I'd be getting no charge for that part. When I was driven down by my caregiver on the following Thursday afternoon, the repairman here didn't even recognize me nor remembered who I was. And seemed to instead have been in a very emotionally exhausted mood. When I came to pay for the battery I had agreed to install that on my own at home to save on labor costs. I stood at the counter awfully nervous and very rudely was made to wait a real long time while the repairman out of arrogance stood behind his cash register for the costs to be made. Even with the costs of labor saved I was made to all over again pay for the cost of the adapter and power cord. Like a total of $32.00 out of my limited income lost. I am not discouraging any one else from coming here if they have had good experiences, but I will not be coming here again due to my bad experience. Though I can be expected to be retaliated by the repairman in an attempt to have the last word. I'm just saying things from my personal experience. read more

Darren is an absolute hero. He was able to image our failing hard drive and put the information on a new solid state drive. It started with our computer getting really slow. Believing this to be caused by software or the number of programs, we tried guides to help. And then it suddenly got really bad and took 30 minutes to shut down and reboot. When it came back, it had a small icon with a caution message about Intel storage. Google searches (on a different device) said it could be due to a failing hard drive. We shut it down. I called three other computer places, but Darren was the only business that actually answered. I was able to take my computer there the same day. Turns out my hard drive was very, very bad. Bad sectors and possibly misaligned head based on the strange noises it was making. I was distraught, but Darren was very kind and understanding. It looked like it was like going to need to be sent to one of those places that dissects the drive to get the data at high cost. But against all odds, Darren was able to recover the data without having to do that. He put it on a new solid state drive. Our computer is now lightning fast and we learned a valuable lesson in imaging versus backups. This business is knowledgeable and down to earth and didn't use the blinding you with a science terminology a lot of IT people seem to do where you have no idea what they are talking about. He was understanding and compassionate when I was crying over the possibility everything was lost. He saved the day! Highly recommended! read more

Took my PC in after it randomly stopped booting one day, and all possible work arounds suggested online didn't resolve issue. Talking with the gentleman over the phone, it was immediately apparent he knew what he was talking about, so I decided to bring it to him to resolve the issue. I called I-5 for repair after my son's computer PSU wasn't functioning properly. They made it super easy with walk-in drop-off service and told me they'd be in touch. I wasn't ten minutes away after dropping it off when Darren called and told me he'd fixed it! He also touched up a few other quick things he noticed. I drove straight back and got it and then told me his repair was free of charge, since it'd been there a total of 15 minutes. I tipped him generously and said I would definitely spread the good word about their services. Honestly it's very hard to understand the 5 star rating. No PPE. VERY pushy. They will advertise a free diagnostic but will actually charge for it. I just stopped by, with no appointment, but in a total crisis. I have 10 days left of my term, and with no explanation my laptop wasn't turning on. I went by Best Buy to see what they thought, and they referred me to I5 computers. After briefly explaining the problem, Darren took it apart right in front of my eyes, I'm fairly certain performed a magic spell, put it back together just minutes later, and then it worked! If you know how the end of term goes, you know what a relief that was! And, because it was such a quick fix for him, he didn't even charge me. They did a good job but over charge and charge tax on labor which they not supposed to they charged 1478. In tax but it should of only been 7.48 that kind of bothered me also 80 an hour is a bit high to replace a hard drive and install windows ten all they do is put the USB in a slot And the computer uploads the program windows ten that took a few seconds but the total bill was close to two hund dollars and over charged the tax read more

My laptop was 9 years old and quit working. I work from home and although it was on its last breath, I needed it fixed asap. Darren being the great service provider he is tried to put it on life support for me. They opened it up and found some water damage. I was on vacation in the Vancouver area trying to upgrade my brother in law's laptop and was also looking for the right screwdrivers to open up my 2012 MacBook Pro, which for months had been one semi-stripped screw away from me being able to swap out the optical drive for a second hard drive. Anyway, all I really needed was three small, very specific screwdrivers and a spudger, and they helped me out free of charge, because the work required very little labor. They had a couple old screwdrivers and a spudger lying around, which I essentially traded for my optical drive. I'm not advocating everyone go in to try to get free services, but I can say with confidence that they're an honest business that's not looking to take advantage of you. They definitely know their way around all kinds of computers and computer parts, and it looks like they sell whole computers as well as parts in case you're interested in buying. The crew is pretty small, but they're all really welcoming. I'm just embarrassed that they saw that I was holding down the SSD in my computer with electrical tape (I still am but now I'm proud of it). read more
