Of the hundreds' of potential electronic parts that could fail, how long does it take to chase it down. I have been doing medical & home electronic field servicing for 50 years. When I try to quote a repair, the worse it is reported, the higher the quote (Male vs Female report). Be a smart shopper. I have recently spilled drinks on my laptop on two separate occasions. I brought it to Smart Fix and luckily they were able to change my keyboard with no problem!! It only took one day to fix.. both times. cost under $100! I'm going to try to stop spilling on it now. I found Smart Fix a few years back when I moved to the area. I was so lucky that I found them on the first try. They have been an absolute blessing! they've dealt with all sorts of issues for me. I had a virus in my laptop. I thought it was ruined. My Alienware PC was getting a bit sluggish and starting to show its age. Smartfix worked with me to see if we could update the motherboard, but that wasn't in the cards. They ran diagnostics and found out it was in pretty good shape. They also increased the ram from 8 to 20 MB. It is running much better now. I can't say enough about the great service. Fixed our computer but big time holes in their customer service. Was quoted $50 to diagnose then they quoted a higher price to my wife...sexism? They quoted same day diagnosis to me, then didn't do it and made us wait the entire weekend. They fixed it without calling or giving us the price! $200 is right on the edge of replacing a laptop, they need to do better. I emailed them this review and encouraged them to respond, but nothing. Michael repaired my tablet quickly when the Geek Squad told me that they could not.

I came here to get an iPhone 14 Pro Max repaired. After looking over my phone Michael said that the front and back glass and one wire needed to be fixed. I was told it would take about 5 business days to get the new glass in, and it would be a quick repair that could be done that day. This was the only time I received any communication without asking for it myself. I was also told (after the initial assessment) that the frame was damaged and needed to be replaced too. It wasn't damaged when I brought it in, and I was quoted another 150 to replace it. This seemed incredibly shady because It ended up being one month before I got the phone back after he damaged both the charging port and the battery. I only got any of this information because I would call every week after not hearing anything, and it just seemed like he was trying to get more money out of me to fix his damages. I was even told that I would get a call when my phone was ready the day after the last part replacement came in and I just got a text saying "iPhones ready" and nothing else. There was also never an apology for the lack of communication or the damages, just the assurance that I wouldn't be charged for the parts that Michael damaged(I would hope not?). I wasn't even going to leave a review, but I picked up my phone today and the sound now doesn't work on speakerphone, and the screen and battery are showing up as a non genuine part. read more
