For a diner this place was great! Food was great and abundant and the price was right. The cook Richard came out and brought a sample of his green, red, and chorizo chile. This was by far, the best chile I have ever tasted...it was that good. The green chile was the best of the 3, but all were flavorful with their own unique textures. My Wife and I absolutly love this place. We make a point of going here when we travel east from denver to see her familiy in texas or my friend mike in virgina. We've been a half a dozen times and my favorite is the Chorizo chilli. I'll get the Huevos rancheros smothered in Chorizo chilli. So Good! My wife loves the French toast sandwich. The people are friendly, the atmospher is cool, and even the cook (who I'm thinking is the owner) came out to make sure I enjoyed everything. Maybe my fault because I told the waitress that I'd love to thank the cook. I cant believe the people who rated this place less than four stars. Great place to stop if you have a little extra time on your hands. We stopped here on a Sunday at lunch time and unfortunately it took over an hour to get our food; however, I will say that the food was delicious! Typical diner food, but all four of us (kids included) devoured what we ordered with happy bellies when we left. Stopped here on a whim (needed a bathroom break on our travels) and decided to stay and eat. Very glad we did. Our server was very friendly (Diane) and went over the specials. We decided to try the chili cheese fries. They have three different homemade chilis to choose from, green (pork), red (beef and bean) and a chorizo which we chose. It was a little salty but otherwise delicious with just a small amount of heat on our hot and fresh, crispy fries. I then got a bacon cheeseburger that had extra thick bacon that made the burger, not to mention it was a fresh, not frozen juicy burger as well. My son got the hot beef and cheddar sandwich that was tender beef that had a sauce that tasted between a bbq and a steak sauce and cheddar on toast. It was great, traditional diner food! We also saw some amazing looking onion rings being served and were unfortunately too full to try one of their hand scooped milk shakes. read more

We recently stopped in and had breakfast. The bacon was old, the potatoes had no flavor and had an orange color,the gravy was very peppery and heavy flour. The pancakes were not fully cooked. Oh, the coffee was disgusting, We won'r be back. just horrible food. read more

Well, I don't know about the food but we drove home to Colorado from Oklahoma yesterday and I needed to stop for gas and a quick nap and this place IS in the middle of nowhere. However, it is soooo cute! It looks like a '50s diner and there was a vintage, pink Cadillac (I think) up on a pole. I wish we hadn't been full and rushing to get home before dark - dodging leaping/suicidal deer - but I would take a road trip just to visit one day. I love this place! I am not sure why people write negative things, when my two times have been stellar! Try the green chili or the red. Wow, the 'singing chef' know how to do real chilli right. My wife and I make a point of stopping here on our way to and from Kansas City/Denver. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Ambiance gets a 5 for an authentic diner look. Food and service both get a 2 as they are terribly inconsistent and can be hit or miss. The breakfast items are fairly consistent, burgers are decent, and the green chile, though different, is tasty. Salads are typically iceberg- which is sometimes rusted, and may or may not contain anything but drab iceberg and bottled dressing. In the town of Flagler itself, at this point in time, there are no other options. It's certainly not up to the par where I would consider it a "destination" restaurant. read more

I am very disappointed in this place for breakfast. Upon walking in the waiter was sitting with a customer so we sat ourselves. He brought us menus and took our drink order that took 10mins for him to bring back and it was two coffees, a soda and water, really?? Our food took forever to come and when we finally got it, wow what a disappointment!! My eggs were not cooked how I asked, they forgot my sons eggs for his meal and my husbands omelette was still raw in the middle, GROSS and his sourdough toast wasn't even toasted!! This is the only restaurant for about 30 miles in either direction along a very boring stretch of Interstate 70. It is a genuine diner that was moved to the location (right next to the interchange) a few years age, I believe all of the way from one of the Dakotas. The pink cars that are erected on columns outside for advertising are rather tacky, but otherwise the place is immaculate. Like most other potential customers, I just stopped there for a break and had coffee and pie, but those were good and reasonably priced, the waitress was pleasant, and overall it is a much better place to stop than a C-Store or truck stop that are the main alternatives between Kansas and Denver. read more

Driving through Kansas we are always looking for a little gem. We did NOT find it in Flagler. This diner is not likely to make its way to food networks' diners, drive-ins and dives, but certainly could stand a visit from food network's health inspectors. This place looks like it was most recently cleaned sometime back in the '50s. The food was inedible. That right, not incredible, inedible. Sorry the I-70 corridor through KS is food challenged. Been stoping here for years and have sent many people here. I must say a bit disappointed this time. After paying $18.50 frr a cheese burger grill cheese and ice tea my wife asked for mayonnaise and was told that would be .50 cents extra we laughed and thought he was joking. He said you already have ketchup and mustard rolled his eyes at us and walked away. When we looked in our bag in the car we had 6 packs of ketchup and same of mustard. We used one of the ketchup. The hamburger was dry and fries under cooked.very short sited to waste ketchup and mustard charge 50 cents for 3 cents worth of mayonnaise I have never heard of such a thing.
