Just popped in, on our way to RMNP. I had the special (salted caramel) & a berry parfait. The latter was/is the perfect temperature!! The parfait was perfect, as well. As someone who is gluten intolerant, it was nice to have something to snack on, during the remainder of the drive. The wait was a bit long, I think there is some training going on with staff, but you have to learn somehow! Will keep this gem in mind, during our travels. I highly recommend this coffee shop! We were on our way from Colorado to Kansas and stopped here for some breakfast. Not only did we enjoy it but our 3 dogs LOVED the PUP Cups!! I also got them some banana peanut butter bones and other kind with pumpkin in them! I had a Chai Tea Latte and it was excellent! Toasted everything bagel and cream cheese. It was very tasty. Chris had a ham sandwhich warmed up and he said it was very good. The service was excellent and the ambiance was warm and inviting! I was driving east on the I 70 about a 100 miles past Denver and I saw the sign for this beautiful and unexpected gem of a coffee shop and sanctuary. I pulled into the parking lot and found cars with license plates from Texas, Florida, NY and Missouri. Received a beautiful welcome from the owner Pamela. The instant feeling is wow how calm this place is. The name Ahimsa means compassion or non violence in Sanskrit and Pamela has absolutely succeeded in creating a very fitting scenario with delicious coffee, ( she so generously offered me a sample to see if I liked her dark roast), comfortable couches, a lovely and soothing water fountain, beautiful grass for dogs, a special bin for dog waste, a really spacious and warm seating area, a wonderful employee who was so courteous and efficient. I saw folks enjoying their coffee with different pastries, muffins and goodies. Love the great prices. It was $2.50 for a small coffee. ( she steamed me milk). This is the best Zen, pet friendly ( oh a big selection of treats as well), calm and fun rest stop/coffee shop I have seen and been lucky to experience in my multiple drives across our great and beautiful country. Pamela told me that this used to be a bank till she converted it into this gorgeous haven 7 years ago. She showed me the drive up window and some of the construction. She was so kind and so caring. I tend to prefer a stronger, bolder brew, so their blends feel a little lighter than what I usually go for. Came here as a quick stop in the morning when a gorgeous and kind woman with long black hair took my order. I did have some weird requests but she was more then happy to make them happen. The dining area was very clean and put together with a lot of cute merch. I got just 2 shots of espresso with cold foam (I mixed my protein drink with it) but even without the protein the espresso and cold foam were delicious. Misleading name. Surprised there are no vegan food or bakery options, when the name is Ahimsa, which is a concept from Jainism, where the followers practice strict vegetarianism. "Ahimsa" translates to "nonviolence", and it encompasses any violence, including that done towards animals. Ahimsa is about minimizing harm to all living beings. Staff was friendly. Stopped in for coffee on our way to Colorado Springs and I'm so glad we did! The place is spacious and bright, with nice bathrooms and a very friendly staff. One of the employees is a fellow Ohioan so that was fun! They have a wide variety of drinks, with specials and many create-your-own options. My husband got a mocha with peanut butter and coconut and it was sweet and tasty. I got an oat milk cappuccino with sugar free white chocolate and it was perfect. The two stars are for cute, shop, good location and clean. They are also pet friendly which is super helpful when you are traveling and your pet doesn't appreciate being left for you to fulfill your coffee addiction. As for the coffee, it was not good. I hate leaving bad reviews, I want companies to do well. I don't know if there barista was new and didn't know how to pack coffee or work her machine? That wouldn't explain the coldness of a fresh espresso, or that she forgot the extra shots my husband ordered and was written on the cup. He is not a hard man to please, but this was pretty bad. Even my cafe au lait was weird and watery and tasted off. That is made from a drip brew so not sure if something is wrong with the machine or what is happening here...I hope they figure it out as I think they have a cute shop in a great location! read more

Slim pickings out here in the middle of nowhere but this place is INFESTED with moths and it's a health department hazard. Moths in the back of the shop where they are making coffee, on the ceiling, against the windows. My friend and I counted more than 16 moths here. Skip it and go to McDonald's next door that's maintained better... which is a low bar already. And the two girls working here, have zero customer service or friendliness. It's not hard to say "hello". If you hate your job, then please pack your bags up , go move elsewhere, and find a job you actually like. read more
