Very cute sushi spot in Culver's city. What a neat concept to order from the iPad and have fresh, delicious sushi delivered quickly to your spot. I love seeing a picture of the menu item and having a good description. Very unique menu and great service. The portions were rather large and presentation was insta friendly.

Such a cute cozy spot very reminiscent of Japan! Good prices and really good quality fish!

I am o so very sad. But it has nothing to do with this restaurant I'm just depressed and now I am writing a yelp review. This restaurant was really good actually. The sushi was fun especially the elote one very unique. It was also a good price with the combo. $50 for a good amount (with 2 people we had a hard time finishing) the service was also very nice. It's self service mostly for water and napkins and such but the host and people still checked in on us. Ambiance was also super cute and a nice theme. Very very nice yay yay sushi. I should come here again and try to be less sad

We stopped by after visiting Helms Bakery and were excited to finally check this place out. We first noticed it during the Culver City Art Walk but saw they weren't fully open at the time. We ordered a couple of maki rolls and the Szechuan tofu--everything was delicious. They gave us a sample of the ramen broth, which was also good. The ordering process was easy since everything is done through the Toast app. The decor and atmosphere are also really cute, we'll definitely be back!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Note, they're still in soft opening right now, so hours / days may be different / changed / what not. While on a nightly walk in Culver City, I noticed that I 8Sushi storefront was finally open and I immediately took advantage. The menu is still under construction (I think), but I grabbed the salmon sashimi and a normal tuna roll. The tuna roll was great, but upon getting to the sashimi, that was the kicker. It was incredibly soft and buttery (oh so buttery), and great to taste. Service was fast and it ambiance of the storefront was especially sweet since it's fall. 100% recommend!

Gimmicky? Yes. I mean the sushi had hot Cheetos & Rice Krispies on it. ‍ Good? Also yes! The sushi was fresh & all the flavors went well together. I got the sushi box so I wasn't sure which rolls I would receive. I enjoyed them all! I picked up the order & the young man went out of his way to bring the box outside to my car. Good food, good service.

Was so excited that there was a new sushi place opening in the neighborhood. Been following their Instagram was before they actually opened and was captivated by their photos and marketing. Unfortunately, I must say I'm a little disappointed. The interior was nice, new and modern. But at a closer look, there were just a lot of mixed elements that just didn't make sense to me. It was a sushi rolls place, so it was obviously Japanese, but there were also a lot of tropical island elements, and the rolls also came in a pizza box. I guess it brings a little Hawaiian / California vibe, but it felt a tiny but off to me. They had a small selection of rolls including tuna, yellowtail, salmon, etc. And unfortunately, they didn't even have yellowtail that day. But forgivable as seeing it was still their soft opening. I ordered one OmG crunch roll take out ($22 with tax and tip). I was expecting a awe moment when I got my order, but it was very messy and the presentation really wasn't up to my expectations. The taste was OK. Maybe a slight bit better than rolls you'd get at wholefoods. The little crunchy cereal-like bits were new to me. And the rolls were quite large. But each piece was so big I had no way of putting the entire thing in my mouth at once. So it made it even messier.... To be honest, after writing the review, I feel like it should be more like 3.5 stars for me. But seeing it as they are still a brand new business, I think I might give them another chance sometime. Parking is available on Washington (mostly metered) or in the residential neighborhood streets behind the restaurant.

We really like i8 Sushi! The atmosphere is cozy and the decoration is simple but stylish. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is fresh and tasty. It's one of those little spots in Culver City that's definitely worth visiting. Whether you're grabbing a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner, it's a great place to enjoy good sushi without breaking the bank.

The words don't do justice to the superb food selection, quality, and reasonable prices at i.8sushi The service is excellent!! The variety is old Japanese food with great personal attention to preparation and presentation.

Sushi is sooo good. Recommend the chili roll and Godzilla roll. Prices are reasonable and it's a chill vibe

Everything was delicious. A little quiet since it's still in the early stages and just sodas and water but nonetheless definitely coming back

My review is for take out only…read more Food: Hot, fresh, cooked to order (judging by the wait time), which was still reasonable, and delicious. I got a chicken bowl with teriyaki sauce on the side, and unless you upgrade to white meat for extra it comes with thigh and leg meat (dark meat). I like that though since it's juicy. The portion size is good for the price and I felt the amount of meat included was just right without needing to add extra. Also subbed out for fried rice, which is yummy as well. Ambiance: it's cute fast casual imo. You can order at a table from a kiosk and enjoy the food there or take it to go like I did. If I had more time I wouldn't mind sitting there. It was peaceful for a Friday.

It's not the best, but it's consistent and tasty. However, to not keep paying delivery fees, we decided to go in person since the restaurant is close by, and that was a mistake. It's a cute, clean restaurant in a weird location, tucked into a corner by the target. They have tablets at the tables, which is fun, and they still brought paper menus, but we ordered off the tablet. It is odd because while my husband was deciding what to order, the tablet told us to order or it would time out. So I ordered my food and sent it in and then a few seconds later, my husband put in his order. Mine came out quickly and was the quality I'd come to expect. And then...we waited. And waited. Other parties slowly trickled in (prior it had been mostly empty). When I saw they got their food long before my husband received his, I flagged one of the two waitresses and she assured us they were working on it. Like me, my husband got two sushi rolls. It took another 15 minutes (during which time soups and plates had been handily delivered to other tables) before my husband finally got his food. There was no apology, and no acknowledgment that two rolls took over a half hour. If they had forgotten the order or something had gone awry, that's fine! I understand the chaos of a busy kitchen. But to not acknowledge or check on us in a near empty restaurant is just poor service. I will stick to ordering online.

It felt like one of those slow, cozy days where time doesn't rush you…read more I met up with my college friend after what felt like forever, and somehow we both landed on the same craving--ramen. No debate, no hesitation. Just ramen. I had tried this spot at another location before and remembered liking it, so it felt like a safe, comforting choice for a long overdue catch-up. We got there at that in-between hour... not quite lunch, not quite dinner. The kind of time where the restaurant feels like it's just exhaling. It was completely empty except for us, which honestly made everything feel a little more intimate--like the space was ours for the afternoon. We sat down and immediately slipped into conversation, picking up right where we left off after graduation. Life updates, little wins, quiet struggles... the kind of conversation that only comes easy with people who've known you for years. And in between all that, our mouths were busy. The ramen came out hot, comforting, and exactly what we needed. Rich broth, satisfying noodles--one of those meals where you don't even realize how hungry you were until you take the first bite. We kept pausing mid-sentence just to take another bite, then laughing because we couldn't decide what deserved more attention: the food or the conversation. Service was really attentive without being intrusive. They somehow knew when to check in and when to let us just exist in our little bubble. The music was soft, not overpowering, so we never had to raise our voices or repeat ourselves--something I appreciate more and more these days. We stayed longer than we probably planned, but it didn't feel rushed at all. Just two old friends, warm bowls of ramen, and a space that let us slow down for a bit. Definitely one of those simple meals that turns into a really good memory.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone rave about this place (or I guess they don't pay extra to show up at the top of searches ?). Went on a weekday for lunch and there were a couple of parties already waiting outside the door before opening time. It's an unassuming, minimalist space but feels cozy inside. They had very reasonably-priced lunch sets that were surprisingly filling. Nigiri and rolls were fresh, with balanced flavors. The Uzumaki set would have been fine by itself but we ordered a couple of rolls on top and ended up a bit stuffed. The ume shiso cucumber roll was probably my least favorite item. The plum was a bit too prominent and there weren't enough savory flavors to balance out the tartness. Everything else exceeded expectations. Overall would highly recommend!

No reservations but worth a wait (but honestly, only ever had to wait 30-40 mins during peak dinner time on Friday once). It's a small space but it doesn't feel crammed, it's cozy and really well kept. The quality and freshness of the fish is impossible to beat. The nigiri melts in your mouth. The best part of coming to dinner here is their prefix meal options. When my boyfriend and I come together we never have to strategize what to get. I always order the Uzumaki & he gets the Uzumaki Plus prefix meals & we each get a miso soup. The ceviche sampler leaves you wanting more each time, the edamame starter is the perfect size, and with each bite of the nigiri I'm smiling and nodding my head in disbelief. You get to choose between two cut rolls with the Uzumaki prefix meals, either the crunchy shrimp or spicy tuna -- the shrimp is my favorite. We decided to try the chocolate donut with vanilla ice cream today and it did not disappoint. Now to the service -- we've never had better service. Each employee greets you with a smile, and as soon as your plate is empty or a piece of trash shows up on your table the staff immediately takes it away. I personally love eating the pickled ginger and some places can be stingy, not this place! Immediately they are bringing us more ginger, water, etc whatever it is, without us asking. It's incredible the attention to detail the staff has and they make coming back such a warm and friendly experience. The cherry on top? There's free parking in a structure attached to the building. We recommend parking in the structure over the street as sometimes there can be interesting characters outside. You know it's an amazing restaurant when you can't decide which is better, the service or the food! Go, you won't regret it!!!
