The food isn't bad but it wasn't authentic Japanese or even what I expected out of any typical Japanese fusion. I was craving Japanese but didn't really get that. I felt disappointed in the inconsistency in the food. I loved the green bean goma-ae because it had vinegar in it. It is not the traditional preparation. It tasted more like a Chinese or maybe Korean in flavor. The spicy miso ramen was just bad. The portion was huge but who cares if it doesn't taste good? It looked and tasted like Chinese style noodles that my dad would cook at home. The pork was lean pieces of meat, not pork belly or pork cheek. They were just tossed in there and cooked like a stew. I was expecting all the toppings to be laid out on top. Other than the noodles and maybe the egg, it didn't taste like authentic ramen at all. Takoyaki had good batter and a nice crust but two of the balls didn't even have octopus in it!! Also got this glazed pork belly dish, forgot the name. It was a generous portion but the sweet sauce on top was too sweet and again tasted more Chinese in flavors. Soba buckwheat tea was nice and authentic and the lotus kinpira was good and authentic enough, but so many hits and misses at the same time. This restaurant is confused.

Service here was great! We came right when they opened for dinner at 4:30pm. It was a good time to come because soon more and more people started to show up. We ordered appetizers from the Happy Hour menu. The tofu dish was lovely, and the grated ginger was a nice touch. The garlic edamame was ok, we didn't really taste much garlic which was odd. My cousin and I both ordered the Vegan Ramen and we were shocked at how big the bowls were. The broth was light and all the veggies were really tasty. We added in some of the chili oil and seasoning which brought more flavor to the dish. We appreciate the fact that the broth wasn't too salty and we could make it our own with the provided additions.

Vibe is neighborhood ish with a mixture of families, singles, couples, kids. Decor is simple with 3 of 4 walks kinda plain and one wall with a mural. Staff is friendly, kind and attentive. Yes, Ramen is the centerpiece -- guess that's why it in the name

Absolutely amazing and we didn't even order ramen! We had a handful of the appetizers and the Salmon Don and sake. It was so fantastic and the chef even came out and greeted us. Would have never just strolled in here by looking at the outside but we are going to be regulars!

It's raining in LA and what better place to warm the belly than Motor Ramen with a big bowl of spicy Ramen! Moto Ramen is always consistently delicious with very kind and attentive service. Today was no exception. We started with some Yellowtail Jalapeño rolls and Gyoza and today are server explained to try it with the Vinegar and Soy sauce and blend 50/50, and it was delicious! Excellent recommendation! And the Yellowtail was fresh and delicious. The SPICY ramen hit the spot on this chilly day. I love the portion size here too! Moto is a casual spot with a pleasant ambiance, Japanese art adorns the walls. Not too classy to feel precocious, but clean modern vibes. There is metered parking in front (coins, credit cards and a text to pay option on line).

The food here is always good. I like the spicy stuff so that is my go to. The service here is very good, they always check up on you and you have to owner running around helping out as well. Having the owner around and working that their own restaurant is a great thing to see in my opinion. The atmosphere here is cozy and a little small but it is what it is with a small location. I love coming here, there's always customers and that means there's good food!

My experience here was decent. I visited this restaurant towards closing on a Sunday night. The service here was really good and my server was super nice. He was even gentle in reminding us that the kitchen was closing by a certain time which I appreciated. I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkatsu hot ramen and it was alright. The broth was tasty, but way too salty for my liking. The toppings were okay, but chashu pork was dry. I would've liked it better if the meat melted in my mouth. The portion was pretty good, it was was warm and it was filling though. The interior was fun in design and relatively clean. For parking, I believe it is just metered street parking. Overall, a mid experience here and I would opt for other ramen options elsewhere.

The ambiance was real cool. The staff was so cheerful, professional, and attentive. The food was so good Marinated Cucumbers is a must The Spicy Miso is the best the broth is flavorful but light and the spice level is perfect.

Deliveries come with nice bag and arrived fresh & hot.

The last time I ate here was about six months ago, and it remains one heck of a place to enjoy delicious ramen and gyoza, though the gyoza was admittedly on the salty side this time. It came as a pleasant surprise that the restaurant wasn't crowded on Christmas Eve, and we were seated immediately. Best of all, there was even a parking stall available right in front of the entrance. Truly a night to remember for years to come.

Love this place and how consistent their service is (which is 5/5!!!)!!! Here's what I tried so far: Pork bun 4/5 I had higher expectations for the pork belly Chicken karaage bun 5/5 cannot get enough of this one, soooo delicious! Agedashi tofu 5/5 I'm a sucker for agedashi tofu though! Tonkatsu 5/5 the broth is flavorful and I love that the ramen noodles are cooked hard Been there so many times and I already can't wait to go back lol

The staff was really friendly, but I wasn't impressed with the food. I tried the garlic ramen, which was okay. It was very mild, and I added extra seasoning. I also tried the salmon don. The portion was surprisingly large. It also came with soup, which I also found bland.

This is my go to Ramen spot ever since I discovered it. After I discovered the tan tan men ramen, I don't get any other ramen! It's my absolute favorite. We come here at least once a month. We love the fresh marinated garlic they offer. Staff is so kind. Check online to see if the waitlist is open because it can get busy. Other delicious items I've tried so far: chicken karaage, marinated cucumbers, spicy tuna roll, and spicy salmon roll. Just had to write a review on how delicious it was after having it again.

Had always heard good things about Moto Ramen and after finally trying it, I can confirm it is all true. From the ambience to the flavors, it could not have been better. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely flavorful up until the last bite. I truly have never had ramen this good. Moto Ramen servers and cooks, you rock! Absolutely DELICIOUS! Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

    Is there anything with peanuts?

Thank you for asking! We do use peanuts in a soup or two depending on the season, but your server or someone on the phone can help you navigate the menu.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 10, 2023

Do they still do outdoor dining?

Yes. Outdoor area has an awning.

    Patio dog friendly?

Hi Blanche! Favorite part of our patio is being able to see our furry friends.

    When is happy hour?

Hi Steven! Happy hour is M-F 4:30-6PM.

    Does spicy tonkotsu have peanuts?

No, it does not. There are peanuts in our Tan Tan Men and Spicy Miso.

How many heaters do they have on their patio this winter?

Went last week for dinner and there weren't any heaters. It wasn't too cold and the ramen provides the heat.

No debate, no hesitation. Just ramen. I had tried this spot at another location before and remembered liking it, so it felt like a safe, comforting choice for a long overdue catch-up. We got there at that in-between hour... not quite lunch, not quite dinner. The kind of time where the restaurant feels like it's just exhaling. It was completely empty except for us, which honestly made everything feel a little more intimate--like the space was ours for the afternoon. We sat down and immediately slipped into conversation, picking up right where we left off after graduation. Life updates, little wins, quiet struggles... the kind of conversation that only comes easy with people who've known you for years. And in between all that, our mouths were busy. The ramen came out hot, comforting, and exactly what we needed. Rich broth, satisfying noodles--one of those meals where you don't even realize how hungry you were until you take the first bite. We kept pausing mid-sentence just to take another bite, then laughing because we couldn't decide what deserved more attention: the food or the conversation. Service was really attentive without being intrusive. They somehow knew when to check in and when to let us just exist in our little bubble. The music was soft, not overpowering, so we never had to raise our voices or repeat ourselves--something I appreciate more and more these days. We stayed longer than we probably planned, but it didn't feel rushed at all. Just two old friends, warm bowls of ramen, and a space that let us slow down for a bit. Definitely one of those simple meals that turns into a really good memory.

I personally prefer thicker noodles with a chewier texture. It came with one thin slice of meat and half an unmarinated egg. For $20, there are better, more satisfying bowls of ramen in the area. The curry was prepared correctly--rich, balanced, and full of flavor. The katsu had a nice crispy texture on the outside while staying tender inside. Once everything comes together, it's exactly what you want from a solid curry katsu dish. The atmosphere was great. It's clean, relaxed, and has a comfortable vibe where you can just sit and enjoy your food without distractions. Service is a bit different--it's automated. There wasn't a traditional waiter setup when I went, but everything was smooth and easy to follow, so it didn't take away from the experience. Price came out to about $21 with tip, and I only had water. For the quality, I think it's fair. One small suggestion: it would be great if they offered an option for extra rice instead of having to order a separate portion. The curry was so good, I definitely wanted more rice to go with it. Overall, really solid spot. The flavors are on point, the vibe is right, and I'd definitely come back.

You can choose three toppings for the ramen; I went with green onions, wood ears, and fried onions. The ramen is really delicious. I was impressed by the price and wondered how they could manage that. I think it's because they give you less chashu, which is also nothing to write home about. But they cut no corners on the tonkotsu broth and the chewy noodles, so I was quite happy. The gyoza were a great accompaniment. They did come with a mayo-based dipping sauce, which I had never seen before, but there are other sauces and seasonings at the table for you to add if you like. The place is small: there are two or three tables and a counter that seats about five. You order at an iPad in the front, then grab a spot and wait for your food. It won't be long!
