This is the only place I will go. I'm on the shorter side and therefore need virtually everything hemmed. Upon moving to the area, it reminded me of my uncles NYC dry clean/tailoring biz (I'm 55 for ref) so I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did because everything I've brought in has been done perfectly as requested. Turnaround time is one week every time, which I don't mind because good things come to those who wait. I have actually tried to go here several times however every time I go, the place is closed. There is a small bi-fold sign outside advertising that they are open but the door is always locked. The posted hours sign on the door is damaged and the times have fell off so I am not sure of the regular hours, Long story short, I had to find another place that tailors. read more

I used to be in the drycleaning business in a former life. My grandmother was also a seamstress, so I've seen good work. Prospect Tailoring advertises that they do "jean hems", so I figured I'd try them for a pair that I needed shortened. I was not impressed with the hem job I got at Prospect Tailoring. I brought in a pair of jeans with an extra wide hem. I had pinned them at the length I wanted. My two instructions were to match the thread color and to do a regular jeans hem, not the wide hem that the jeans currently had. I made sure to tell the man that I did not like the wide hem and did not want it replicated. Easy 'nuff, right? Nope. When I went to pick them up, the thread color was off by quite a bit (orange instead of yellow). Also, the hem was wider than a normal jean hem but still about half as wide as it had been. When I pointed it out the man said "Well it had a wide hem before." So I reminded him that I had told him I wanted a regular jean hem. To his credit, he did take them back & re-did them. But that was another trip I had to make to pick them up. If a tailor can't do a basic hem, I'd never trust them with more detailed work. read more

Rick Incollingo does a great job on everything. I have had many jeans shortened by Rick. I had a zipper installed in a jacket where one did not exist. It came out beautifully. I am extremely satisfied with Rick's tailoring. I would trust him with any tailoring job. read more

I have been twice and both times my pants were hemmed too short, even though I tried them on for the seamstress. Luckily, enough of a hem was left so I could go elsewhere and have it corrected. I have found a new tailor since, no need to go back here. read more

This tailor was recommended to me by Daisy Dry Cleaners, since they use them to send their customer's alterations. Worst tailor ever. Never again. He made one pants leg inches shorter than the other one, thus destroying the pants, since he cut it off. The needlework was also subpar. At $12 a hem job that is a pretty expensive lesson for me. I brought 6 pair of pants to be hemmed that I had pinned. I picked them up, brought home and tried on and it was as if nothing had been done. I called and was told to bring them back. This time a woman pinned them. I pick them up again and the pants are still too long though something had been done. I don't want to go back again to this place! Stay away!!!!! read more

I dropped several jiu jitsu gi's to be hemmed, and spent over $120 dollars for pant and jacket cuffs that were not done right. I won't bother to go back. They have a blouse to them when they should be straight legged. I spent on tailoring on what a decent gi could cost me. read more

Horrible! DO NOT GO HERE! My boyfriend dropped off a shirt for the length to be hemmed (about 2 inches), took a week for a simple T-shirt hem . When he showed me the hem it is so uneven! Part of he new stitch line is 1.5 cm and some parts are 2cm! The stitching looks like a 3 year old did it and doesn't even match the original hem! Charged $18 for this! It's interesting to me how much reviews vary. I've had 24 business shirts, 6 pair of dockers, and 3 jackets (including a tux jacket) altered for sleeve length and taken in for a more athletic fit. In all cases I'm more than satisfied with their work. In fact, I just picked up 5 more shirts that I had the White buttons replaced with colored buttons for a more updated/cleaner/GQ look. read more

So I called Prospect tailors asking if they could darn a few holes in a pair of jeans, and they said they could. So I dropped them off and waited for a call telling me when they were done, no call... not that big of a deal but it was still annoying. When I picked up the jeans they didn't darn the jeans, they just sewed a patch underneath, the stitching was terrible I could have done better when I was in middle school home ec . Not only that they didn't fix the busted stitches I asked them to fix. So basically I paid them $20 to ruin a $150 pair of raw denim. Do yourself a favor and find a real tailor because they clearly don't understand basic terms... or how to sew straight read more

Worst possible place to go to do have alteration done. the tailor must not speak or understand English. Either its to short or or make it longer or just alters the bottom and make it look like he did something to them. The owner is probably keeping him/her because he is paying them cheap wages. read more
