If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went in to have the front screen on my iPhone 17 Pro replaced. When I got my phone back, I immediately noticed that the display looked completely different. The screen has a blue tint and doesn't display true blacks, which was especially noticeable since I use Dark Mode. I compared it side-by-side with another iPhone, and the difference was obvious. In addition, there's now a noticeable black border around the edge of the screen, even though the original display is edge-to-edge. On top of that, my phone no longer holds a charge, even though it was purchased new a few months prior. At no point before the repair was I told that they would be installing a lower-quality generic screen. Only after we returned to explain the issues were we told that a higher-quality screen was available as an option, but since we had paid for the generic replacement, there was nothing they could do. For $165, I was left with a phone that looks worse, performs worse, and wasn't restored to its original quality. If you're going to advertise that you can "fix" a phone, customers should be told upfront if the replacement parts will significantly change the appearance and performance of their device. read more

When the back screen of my iPhone 13 max shattered recently, I felt confident going to a local shop to have it replaced based on the number of positive reviews online. Unfortunately my experience at the cell phone repair shop in town ended up being a pretty bad experience, so I wanted to share as the shop has refused to work with me to resolve the issue and I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I dropped my phone off for repair a week ago and was told it would be $150 to replace the back glass. I thought it was a little on the pricey side so asked why it was so much. I was told that it was that costly because there was a lot of liability in servicing a $1200 phone that was only a few months old. That made total sense to me, so I thanked him and left my phone to be fixed. When I picked up my phone 2 days later, I took it home and realized that the flashlight no longer worked. I called the shop and was told that they would fix it and give me a loaner for a few days. I dropped my phone off the next day and used the loaner for the 5 days it took to get it back (the guy at the shop said it would take that long because he needed to drop it off with a master service person because the repair was beyond his expertise). Not an issue since he offered me a loaner. I picked my phone up today at 3pm, went to my car and put it back into its case and went home. Once home I picked up the phone and noticed the back was shattered again. I took it out of the case and the entire back of it crumbled, dropping almost all of the glass. I didn't drop it or do anything to cause the damage. I suspect that when the new glass had to be removed to fix the broken flashlight, it was either weakened or not adhered properly when it was glued down again; causing it to shatter when simply placing it back into its case. I then called the shop to tell them what happened and without hesitation, was told that as soon as I walked out of the shop it was "my problem" and that they are not responsible for anything after I left the shop. I mentioned what he had said about the cost being so high due to the liability in fixing such an expensive phone and he told me that I "should have taken in to Apple then" and hung up on me. I called him back and he answered and then hung up again. I was honestly taken aback by his comment and stance to not stand by his work, especially after all of the positive reviews online. I texted him to ask one more time if he could work with me, only to receive a text back saying "not reading it bye" I stand behind my local BH businesses, but also behind my BH neighbors and wanted to share my experience so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Thanks for the $60 refund. Let's go over the facts: The tech at the Berkeley Heights location gave me an iPhone 6 screen for my iPhone 6s, resulting in bricking the phone. When I brought it to your attention, you denied any responsibility and forced me to buy a new phone for $600 out of pocket. $60 does nothing to cover the $600 I had to pay out of pocket to cover your shop's mistake. 2 stars because the techs are generally decent people. I agree with Mr Quinones' 1 star Facebook review of this shop. They will not take responsibility if anything goes wrong. $600 lesson learned, I will not go here again. read more
