My partner is originally from New York, I'm originally from Connecticut, and we are both very fussy about pizza. We are the kind of people who will drive an hour from Conyers just to get a pizza here, with no other errands attached. That alone should tell you everything. We usually get a huge pepperoni pie and share it. They do have slices, and the slices are excellent too, but I recommend getting the whole pie if you can. Every pizza we have had here has been picture-perfect. Perfect crust, perfect sauce, perfect cheese, properly cooked toppings, and that real New York-style balance of crispy, chewy, melty, slightly floppy, and dangerously hot. The crust has the right crisp and chew. The sauce is flavorful without being too much. The cheese has that classic low-moisture mozzarella richness, and it is seasoned beautifully before baking. That is one of those details a lot of places miss. Up north, the cheese is not just bland melted cheese sitting there doing nothing. It has flavor. It has oregano. It has seasoning. It has personality. I Love New York Pizza gets that right. The first time we went, the owner was there, the family was there, and people were speaking Italian behind the counter. Then I saw the case full of slices and immediately thought, "Okay, we are safe. We are in good hands." You can tell just by looking at the pizza that it is right. Is this the greatest New York pizza you will ever have in your life? Maybe not. Is it possibly the best New York-style pizza you are going to get in this area? Absolutely. To me, it tastes like the kind of standard, classic, universally enjoyable New York pizza you would bring someone to for their first real slice experience. We almost always dine in, and there is always enough to take leftovers home. The staff is great, the service is great, the timing is great, and the consistency is honestly impressive. We drive an hour hoping to get the same perfect pizza we had last time, and they deliver every time. I will be honest: I come here for the pizza. I do not really care for the garlic knots, and I have not been especially attached to the non-pizza items I have tried. But if you have a serious up-north pizza craving, that does not matter. Get the pizza. Get the whole pie. Let it set for a minute if you have the patience, because it comes out burning hot. Or risk it all and burn your mouth on the first bite like I sometimes do. Giovanni, Vido and family literally made my heart sing today from the moment we walked in the door! Any real New Yorker would instantly recognize NY pizza and doggone it they have it!!!! They even cooked it a bit longer for me (real NY pizza is a bit darker on the bottom... it isn't burnt... trust us!). The cheese sauce crust ratio was heavenly and you know the food is good when you sit quietly after with a touch of sadness that your meal is over. lol. So what did we do? Unfortunately we pigged out on appetizers so I ended up taking it to go. The Garlic Parmesan wings were GREAT! We moved here for months ago and they were the best I've had so far. My wife enjoyed her Spaghetti & Meatballs. I asked her for a rating and she gave it a "six or seven." We ordered a large deluxe pie to take home. It looks great! We asked to speak to a manager and he told us that we were "the last ones to place an order" when we ordered before SEVERAL families came in and order multiple pizzas IN STORE as well as customers who ordered single slices like us, who received their food before us. A simple "we forgot your order, my apologies" would've sufficed. Mistakes happen. We asked for a refund and were given the incorrect amount back due to him think we purchases 2 drinks when it was just one. It wasn't worth the headache and we left. So I love really good pizza, and I've been to NY to some of the best places on Manhattan so when I tell you this place has really great pie I mean they have really great pie. The crust is thin and crispy, not crackers and dry and flaky like some of these junk fake NY style joints. It's got the right amount of chew and crunch. I'm giving them a 4 this visit because the soft drink machine is as the working well and the drinks just weren't right, and a couple of their selections weren't working at all. specifically ordered a calzone with NO ricotta and I received a calzone with ricotta. When we pointed it out the son of the owner said they don't do refunds. This IS NOT posted anywhere. He said this will come out of my paycheck if I replace it. He finally agreed to give a med pizza in the place of 2 calzones. What about the cost of the other calzone. When I asked to speak to the owner the son said it's a family business so talk to me. When I asked again for the owner the owner said no. The son said it cost me to make the calzone. That's the cost of duing business. The wings were not seasoned well and were on the dry side. The jalapeño poppers were bland. Soda machines didn't work. Sodas were flat. No sweet tea. Had to walk to Publix to get something to drink. The tables were wobbly causing my son's drink to tip over. The facility was not clean. They don't routinely clean the dining area. We had to ask for items to clean. Half of the dining area is packed with boxes. Family Staff is not friendly. I don't recommend this place. I honestly thought the service was great but the pizza was extremely disappointing. I ordered a meat lovers and Besides the pepperoni you wouldn't even notice it had two other meats on it.
