That leads me to assume that Nancy's non-organic products come from cows that are factory farmed, who never the see the light of day, no matter their press about "small family farmers." I have been loving Nancy's Probiotic (non-organic) Cottage Cheese, and have been eating it with fresh fruit almost daily, but now want to ensure that 99% of the dairy I eat is organic. I did a taste test between Nancy's 2 versions:, the non-organic probiotic cottage cheese I have always thought yummy, with its slightly tart taste. But found that the organic version (albeit same ingredients listed, same protein and calorie count, etc.) is completely bland: yuck! How can the healthier, more humane version have so little flavor, I wonder? I really do want to buy local, but bye bye Nancy's! The organic dairy I buy has got to be tasty, too!

So I will be the first to say then that I love soooo many things this place has to offer. And they have loads of awesome hippie history behind them. Chuck Kesey is the brother of Ken "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" Kesey. The Grateful Dead played a benefit concert for the creamery in 1972. And Huey Lewis used to drive their yogurt down to San Francisco markets, before he ever joined up with the News. How cool is that? And then there's the yogurt...ohhhh the yogurt. My kids are being raised on this stuff. It tastes so good, and stupendously wholesome that we buy two of the huge tubs every week. After eating their whole milk honey yogurt, who could ever stomach Yoplait again? We eat it with fruit, mixed with cereal (it's really good with Reese's Puffs), as a marinade for chicken with Indian spices, or mixed into Indian curries...seriously, the stuff is great. Everything that yogurt is supposed to be. My favorite of their flavored yogurts is definitely maple. Superb. But they have lots of other great stuff too. Their sour cream tastes like crema mexicana, and goes perfectly with spicy bean dip or nachos. Their cream cheese puts Philadelphia to shame too. My husband loves their kefir blended with fruit as well, it's one of his favorite treats to break his fast with at night during Ramadan. I am not particularly a fan of their cottage cheese, but I don't fault them for that-I think it's merely a taste difference, as opposed to something wrong with their craft. And I've never had the opportunity to try their soy products, but I bet they're probably pretty great too. Now, if only Winco would start selling the big tubs of whole milk yogurt, I'd be a very, very happy camper.

Still searching for the best burger in Eugene. Decided to try Dickey Jo's today…read more Nice layout... sort of a diner vibe. Lots of seating, plenty of parking. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Ordered a double meat Cheeseburger with everything on it. Did not specify condiments, so it came with the Dickey Jo sauce. Tasty burger, plenty of crispy onion, fresh tomato, and lettuce. Garlic fries were good, nice garlic taste. Will try again, minus the Dickey Jo sauce... maybe just mustard next time for an old fashioned taste.

The bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned in months, if not longer. Tables were dirty, and don't ask the staff for help. They will point you to a towel, not in sanitizer, on the garbage can next to the overflowing tubs where you get to put your dishes when you're done. I watched one of the cooks drop the spatula on the floor, pick it up, and go straight back to flipping burgers. He didn't get a new spatula. Disgusting! The guy handling the money was also the guy bringing out the food to the table. I watched him handle cash, then finger food on the plates to put it on the serving tray, take it to the table, then open the burgers to see who got what. Wtf! We will not be back.

On our way to pick up pizza, my sister said she'd heard of this Japanese vending area and wanted to…read morecheck it out so we stopped by. The door is unlocked for much of the day but apparently is locked at some points. Inside there are a dozen or so machines that have Japanese/asian items or food. Some are more common snacks, like Pocky, and others more obscure (at least stateside) like Pocari Sweat. There are stuffed animals or Japanese toys and cultural items, stickers, and other non-edible merchandise. Prices are not outrageous, at least for some things, but in some cases you have to buy multiple of an item and the price reflects that.

After receiving a long message from the owner, very unhappy about my review, I decided to go back…read moreand see what I missed. I was WRONG in stating that only credit cards or gold dollars can be used here. I was also WRONG to claim that "everything" in the vending machines can be bought at Kings or Sunrise market, two Asian markets in Eugene, Oregon. While a lot of the items can be bought elsewhere, there are quite a few items for sale here that are unique to this shop. I will say that the owner should really consider sticking to facts when replying to reviews and not make assumptions about me and my likes or dislikes. Why assume that I don't like Japanese things? I was visiting this shop with the full understanding of what it is, a Japanese shop. Assuming that I had anything personally against the owner, her shop, or the fact that it's Japanese is ludicrous! Also, I was there with my best friend who like the shop owner, is half Japanese! The owner also needs to understand how reviews work, and not infer that there is emotion fueling the review. The owner ended her message to my review with, " I'm sorry if me, my shop, the fact it's Japanese, or that you had to scan a QR code to get in, made you angry enough to post this."

It's time…read morefor a later lunch and I see there's a Texas Roadhouse and a BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse near by. WE pick the BJ's cause they have this $13 special Pizookie lunch deal with the deep dish pizza I love. I think I wanted to try a different piza then what I usually get. I normally get the classic, but this time I went for the all meat marvel or something like that. Served with a Caesar salad, I asked if I could get some anchovies on the Caesar like the real Caesars have. They server said he's check. The rest of the crew got the deep dish pizzas as well. Service was friendly in a trained chain restaurant kinda way. It's a little bit upscale inside, so that's nice. The Caesar salad arrives, holy crap, that's a TON of anchovies on it! It look like some kinda weird creatures on the salad! I shared some of the anchovies with who ever wanted any. I'll say it did add another dimension to the salad. My personal deep dish pizza arrived. Wow, that thing is stacked with toppings! Tons of pepperoni and meat. I think I like this one better than the Classic pizza. It was all quite filling and tasted all yummy, I'll keep coming to BJ's. Oh yeah, the Pizookie dessert was super nice as usual, a little on the sweet side.

None of us opened the box to check when we got the order, so when we got back and gave the box to my friend, it looked like someone has eaten the corn out of the box! There were only a few kernels (as seen in the picture) and the fried chicken was way over cooked. I don't recommend take out.
