Judo/gymnastics area is very well ventilated, the fans do make it difficult to hear but minor trade off. It's so well ventilated that kids don't get hot when they run. I also appreciate how special it is to have this Simi Valley Judo Club. It is one big class, so lots of opportunity for mixed age and mixed gender interactions. Often there are parent and kids enrolled at the same time. The cost is low, and duration is 1.5 hours twice weekly, so it doesn't hit the purse as hard if you need to miss a few lessons or join late. No makeups, which are time consuming for parents anyway. Newcomers can often progress quickly through the ranks due to the 3 hour per week duration (no belt testing and no additional fees). New ranks are awarded by Sensei based on observation of their behavior and their application of techniques at the daily randori. Randori is limited to the last 15 minutes of class, everyone sits and observes as 2 kids are called up to spar. So glad we returned.

The staff goes over your eye orientation (whether right or left-eye dominant), provides you with an archery arm guard, and goes over the safety rules. They had multiple instructors who helped you orient yourself and your bow and arrows to shoot at the target. It felt like many directions, but as you go more rounds, your body and brain start to retain the information. I cheered when I finally hit the target! My only goal for the day, besides getting out of bed, was to hit the target! Maybe I didn't hit dead center, but an arrow (and even more arrows) made it onto the target! Yay! There is no good cell phone reception at the range where the public course is held, so if you're meeting anyone, try to make sure you decide where to meet beforehand. There is free parking on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through a fence to your left, a little from when you enter the park. The public session costs $5, and you must sign a waiver. Bring cash, as, once again, you will probably have no cell service. Thank you to Kevin and the other instructors and staff who helped me patiently. I couldn't believe how quickly the two hours flew by. Everything was well-organized, and this is such an amazing weekly event that Conejo Valley Archers hosts. Thank you again!

Once we got there we immediately got told NOT to follow that path as it's very dangerous and "like walking through an active gun field". We were then directed to "go talk to a guy in the blue shirt" but as we are walking to him another man stops us and tells us to go into the trailer. Okay fine- then as we're walking to the trailer we are stopped yet again and told to go talk to a man in a brown shirt now! Fine. As we're walking the other guy is yelling "go to the trailer" omfg so we turn back towards the trailer and then again "No the guy in the brown shirt" ...... at this point i'm wondering what happened to the guy in the blue shirt that i allegedly needed to talk to. Anyways, I digress. So we get to the guy in the brown shirt to sign our waivers and he says that it's actually too late to sign the waivers because it was 10:25 and they stopped doing the waivers at 10:15 First of all, why couldn't anyone tell us that EARLIER and second of all, the website has no indication of this rule. Also the signage is terrible and if the path that we were sent down is so dangerous, why were we even able to go there?? There should be signs and closed gates not an inviting path that people are sent to go down and then get yelled at. Also I don't understand how everyone working there is so out of the loop with each other.

Our son and his friend started with the club when they were 14 and Chris helped them develop good values, inspired them to develop good study skills, helped them to visualize a successful future, and last but not least, taught them strong volleyball skills and strong team values. We have seen our son's skills and self esteem develop beyond our wildest dreams through our son's involvement with Chris and his team. Spectrum Volleyball Club is far more than a sport - boys develop into wonderful young men by being a part of Chris Harger's team.

I know all parent think there children should play more. But our son was a good player; he was good enough to be on the team. In reality I think he was just good enough for Chris to cash our check. My son did not go back this year to play. There were a few other players on the team that hardly ever played. One boy was really tall and an asset to our team, but he hardly ever played. That player was going out of state to play volleyball; after the season he figure he wasn't good enough to play so changed his college plans and isn't playing volleyball. Our son will continue to play high school volleyball. We were fortunate that his high school coach was so positive. One boy Chris sought out and told the boy he needed him on the team, his parents told me that Chris showed up at one of his games to asked him to play, emailed and called to try and get him back on the team. He hardly ever played the boy, he was sad. He was crushed. This boy was a good player, I saw him in the paper and he made First Team All CIF. So he wasn't a bad player. I hope that boy didn't quit, he was crushed. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. To add insult to injury, he email us with a flyer attached asking us to recommend him to other people. Instead I wrote this review. Hopefully it was save some boys son heartach and some parent some money.

I went by the Simi Valley Baseball…read moreleague that is in the 3700 Royal Ave. I stopped by to take a photo of a plaque that when I was the manager the kids raised a lot of money to get a new Refrigerator. I felt that all of their hard work should be recognized so we had a plaque made to say thank you for all the kids and the volunteers that worked so hard. The New president of the league was there in the shack with her son . I asked her what happened to the plaque. She told me she took it down because she did not feel that if you get paid to do a job you should not have a plaque recognizing there or your hard work. . Also it had the word volunteer and they did not volunteer, they got paid. So that is why she took it down . I repeated myself the kids worked so hard to raise the money in the snack shack. She just grinned. I told her she was petty and for a woman that stands behind god, she is a hypocrite. She is not doing a good job. I also want people to know that she claims to be all about the kids. Well those kids worked hard! I want people to know that those kids and the volunteers worked hard and yes there were other people on that plaque that did not get paid myself and my partner . We raised $14,000 that year, which was the most that any one has ever raised in the snack shack. So I am upset that she took something off a brand new refrigerator that was not even 2 yrs old because of her insecurities . Oh they also have a face book page telling you what a great league they are.!!
