Being from imperial beach, I am so glad to have an IB pet down the street from my home. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and while these stores may not be large , they carry the best selection of basic necessities your cat or dog may need. I always forgot to take pictures here. This is Boba's favorite treat place. I let her pick her food and treats. They have the treats that you can buy individually and I saw that it comes in a big container too. Maybe she'll get the big container for Christmas if she behave and her chihuahua side doesn't come out. The staff is so amazing and patient. Boba also have cat siblings that enjoys some of the treats from here. It's a one stop store. read more

We love the staff! They have a great selection of product too! They always welcome us with a warm greeting and are happy to see my 3 dogs. I very much appreciate their patience with my fearful rescue dog as she learns to trust the world, she has learned to trust them and now looks forward to going to the "doggie store". The 2 senior pups also very much look forward to seeing their friends each time we pay them a visit. They are very knowledgeable and are always eager to help. I came in to IB Pet to grab food on the way home. I was greeted by 2 cheerful employees who were eager to answer my questions. I have 2 small dogs and they are elderly and terribly picky. They were eating a couple bites at dinner time and leaving the rest. We would try something else and they would turn their noses up. I didn't know what to expect when I went in but it's strictly boutique foods for pets. I immediately assumed the food would be pricey and it would be a one time visit...i was definitely wrong. I'll spare you the details but I decided on a stew, two pouch meals and a bag of freeze dried food. I also got some shampoo, conditioner (for the pups, not me, lol) and a candle. I spent about $55. I came home and fed them the boxed stew. THEY FREAKING LOVED IT! The next night I gave them a pouch (they're pretty small so I can divide it in half for them.) and they gobbled it up. The third night i tried the freeze dried and didn't add water...they enjoyed that. Well, it's been a couple weeks, I've bought more and they've only been eating meals from IB Pet. Every night they are excited for meal time. They eat everything. I'm also seeing less itchiness. I'm super pleased and i would recommend IB Pet! read more

It's a small pet store for sure! And I'm usually wary because it usually means that they sell super limited/unknown yet expensive items. However, a ton of well known items! And they have coupons that they send to your email, and a loyalty program. The people that work there are always so friendly and definitely go above and beyond for their customers. They weren't afraid to rip open a pallet of giant bags of food just to get to a specific brand of food for my tiny puppy. And they had fun doing it! read more

Not military-friendly! My husband or I are usually the ones to go in both military and we usually ask for the discount. A woman named Caitlyn gave me the hardest time about it. I won't argue over a discount ever; I let it go. But little did I know, Amazon sells Nulo products for $20 instead of the $28 I pay here, even with the discount. Thank you to the woke staff who hates military members here. I will now make my purchases through Amazon and this will be posted on our local Facebook group to advise any military member to steer clear. read more

The selection at IB Pet is second to none -- it's everything we've seen elsewhere but tripled in one store! We got so many new items to try because they have such a great selection. They introduced us to "Tucker's Raw Frozen Marrow Bone Beef Toy Breed Size Six Pack" and Zorro prefers these over the smaller "chihuahua bones" -- we just remove the extra good stuff from the middle so he doesn't overeat it. This IB Pet is freeway close and their staff is super friendly -- especially Shelby who has checked in with me twice to let me know when their bone shipment has arrived. Highly recommend! read more

IB Pet in general is a great pet supply store; they supply a lot of local, organic, natural, and fresh options for all pets, and it's reasonably priced for the quantity and quality you receive. However, this particular location I'm rating only 2 stars as my friend and I have been to more than one and it's a significantly different experience between this location and their others. Not one employee from this location told us on any occasion (more than 5 visits) that there was a rewards or loyalty program available for any one of the numerous eligible products we purchased each time. This is significant as almost every product we consistently have purchased has been eligible for a decent amount of savings and opportunities to earn free products. We were informed about the rewards program on the first visit we had to the Chula Vista IB Pet location, and were asked or reminded about it every visit we've had to that location since! What a difference. Additionally, there is one employee at this location, Chandel, who has consistently been rude and made us feel uncomfortable in her interactions with us. She has acted as though it were an inconvenience when we had questions about any of the products, and has had blatant disregard for our concerns while indicating there wasn't a problem - or at least if there was, it wasn't hers. Very unprofessional customer service and a poor experience every time we've gone. We expressly drive out of our way now to visit the Chula Vista location where the staff are much more friendly & caring. At that location, they're much more knowledgeable about their product selection as well and are happy to help. read more

I came here looking to switch my cat from wet food to raw. I was a big overwhelmed since they so many types of raw to choose from. The nice lady (who's name I can't remember unfortunately) stocking shelves asked about our cat and commended us for wanting to switch to raw. She gave us her recommendation based on what we described of our cat (incredibly picky) and we said we would be back if she didn't like it to pickup another flavor. The lady told us if our cat didn't like it, to just bring back the rest and exchange it for a different flavor. What?! I'd have been happy to buy a different bag as it's not their fault my cat was picky, but wow! The service here is unmatched and even though their prices are high, the quality of the foods they stock and amazing staff they hire makes the cost not matter to me. Unfortunately my cat had to be put down due to stomach cancer, but we have since adopted another one and will for sure be coming here for his needs! read more

I love this store! Great deals on dog food. I buy both dry and wet. My mini St. Bernard loves coming into this store. She knows this is her store to get treats and toys LOL! There's something sweet and genuine about small businesses like this one that have become successful and grown! I came in with my 8 month old human baby and was looking to purchase a small treat for our furry big brother. The store is located in a shopping plaza, and near by CVS & Smart and Final. You walk in and there's a table with bones inside glass jars. It looks pretty neat if you ask me. The lady at the cash register was sweet and helpful, she advised me what would be good for my 13 year old puppy's tooth (he has a few holding on for dear life, so I guess teeth). I was in and out faster than my child can scream MOMMA! Definitely recommend and it beats going to chain stores. read more

IB pet is right down the street from my house. My Doberman absolutely loves the treats in the front of the store and. Has been known to pick her own when I'm not looking. My favorite is the 12 inch Beef chews they are pretty long lasting for the strong chewer , natural and affordable compared to the 12 inch Bully Sticks. The staff always busy keeping the shop clean stocked , always up to code and fresh but never too busy to say hi and stop to personally help you. I love the case discount you get when you stock up on canned foods ( that's any can and mix and match brands). Lastly at checkout Bowie really looks forward to her personal hand picked treat from the cashier she hasn't ever been disappointed. We love our local Rancho San Diego Pet Store. read more
