We have been taking our 3 huge dogs to "Auntie Kristina" for at least 4 years now. Two of our dogs are 1/2 Newfoundland and 1/2 Shepherd. Their hair grows about 8 inches. Our female is, what I call, bulletproof (she is a petite 110 pounds). Her brother is goosy, nervous and shy (and weighs about 125 pounds). Our other dog is half Anatolian, half Shepherd (she is only 85 pounds). So, our dogs are huge. Kristina is very good with them. She does an amazing job shearing them. I am so thankful we found Auntie Kristina and Canine Clips. She is amazing and does the impossible every time we drop off our dogs for a spa day! Sylwia was very nice, accommodating and friendly. I took my two dogs and they came out so happy and clean. My dog sheds a bit and you can tell his coat was shiny clean and deshedded when I picked him up. I would definitely recommend and I will be returning. They also got a goodie bag at the end which they really enjoyed. read more

Charlie, my fur baby, loves visiting Kristina! He has seen many groomers in his lifetime but never have I seen him as happy when I drop him off & pick him up from Canine Clips. What I love the most is that Kristina freshens him up, full groom, in about an hr and a half none of this 4-5 hr crap other groomers estimate. He has received so many compliments after his groomings and personally she does the best job with his hair. Charlie and I will drive 30 minutes any day for an appointment with Kristina. (: P.S. Arrived to pick up my pet and heard Kristina yelling "shut up" to one of the pets most likely mine as he was wimpering quite a bit, and the other 2 pets were quite calm. she realized I was right outside of her door and changed her tone with my pet . There was quite a bit of people traffic coming in for random conversations prolonging my pet being groomed, being tied up and wet! no wonder he was wimpering which added to his stress. I got home and checked my pet for any cuts, he did not smell freshly shampooed, his paws were not done well, I still tipped that woman and I regret it. It is scary to think what my pet had to endure during my absence, considering I clearly heard Kristina telling him to shut up, unbelievable and unprofessional on her part. Kristina was so friendly! And nice to my puppies.she took care of both of them super fast. When I picked them up she informed me what a great job they did. And explained that they act better with the nail grinder than the clippers. My dogs are super soft and even got two cute bows. And whatever she did to de-shed my furry beast worked wonders! Normally when they come back from the groomers they are loosing hair left and right but not this time. She's seemed to really love our pups too! Great prices , only paid 70 for two baskets. What a wonderful new doggie salon! Our dog is a rescue and has socialization issues and stranger danger. We have tried to clip her nails for over 3 years and have had zero luck anywhere we have taken her. All attempts ended in us being told they couldn't bathe or clip her nails and that she should go to the vet and be sedated to get it done. WELL, with a new baby on the way spending $250 plus at the vet was just out of the question. After calling and talking to the owner Christina (sweetest girl ever) she offered to do anything it took to make our dog (poppy) comfortable. Poppy had the salon to herself first thing in the morning to avoid other dogs, and her husband also came in to help assist her in case she got feisty. Well she reported that she did GREAT! It's obvious that our dog felt comfortable with her and her husband and the patience and positive attitude they showed her. I just saved hundreds of dollars and now have a place to take our pup that we both feel good about! No need for anesthesia, vet bills, ect. All she needed was a little TLC and we found the best place for it! read more

Nice, friendly staff. Prices seem a little steep, 40 dollars for a 10 lb dog who's well behaved, is more than I've ever paid for grooming. But I'll still go back because they're right up the road and always take care of their furry clients. read more

Pleasantly surprised! Just moved to La Mesa, and had an amazing groomer in Escondido, but when I moved to Mira Mesa, I had to settle for Petco, which wasn't bad but it's definitely more commercialized and less personal. Kristina definitely proved her experience and skills on my two babies. I couldn't be happier to have found this place. I wish them all the best and hope their business prosper as they truly deserve it. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend them. Don't judge a book by it's cover, as the business establishment is not in the best location but their services couldn't have been better. My baby who was there the longest usually comes home stressed and exhausted after being groomed, but this time he was his normal happy self, which tells me he felt comfortable under Kristina's care. I don't know why other groomers don't. Maybe because they want to skip the tough places, I have no idea.
