My property had a water leak issue, and after the plumber fixed it, I needed someone to patch the drywall and repaint the area. I found Raul through Yelp. From the very beginning, Raul was extremely responsive. After I contacted him, he quickly arranged a time to come by, inspect the damage, and provide an estimate. We were then able to schedule the repair work very quickly. On the day of the appointment, he arrived right on time and started working immediately. Throughout the entire drywall repair and painting process, Raul was very careful, methodical, and detail-oriented. He completed every step properly and professionally. Even though this was only a small project, he never treated it carelessly or rushed through the job. He applied multiple coats of paint and matched the texture carefully instead of doing a quick patch job and leaving just because the repair area was small. MICKEY MOUSE WORK AND CHARGES TOO MUCH! TLDR: poor quality work, charges too much, doesn't care about the safety of your home or family. I feel scammed. Raul came by, acted like he was listening to my request and instilled confidence that he could get it done. He quoted me higher than I had previously been quoted from other handymen, but I went with him because I thought he listened and would get the job done to my satisfaction. All I asked was for the job to be done correctly. The job was for a stovetop vent straight up to a roof vent, simple enough, right? I provided the ducting, vent, ducting tape, roofing nails. Well, we found out there was a gas line where he made the hole in the roof. I asked if it's safe, and maybe we need to relocate the hole, he assured me it's safe (it's not, a real licensed contractor advised the dangers of flames while cooking + gas line). I was so busy that day with work that I didn't have time to really think about this as he told me not to worry. Another issue is he installed the vent ducting from the stove with a gap between the exterior vent and roofing plywood/shingles. So overtime with moist (hot) air, not only now would that risk setting my house on fire, but also rotting the plywood under the shingles. He connected the ducting with tape I provided but it looks like a 5 year old did it. Now on to the vent on the roof - he installed it directly on top of the shingles and used roofing tar all over everything to cake it in place. Which left my home with small children smelling roofing tar for days. To add, he left roofing nails exposed to rust and would eventually lead to water damage (a real contractor told me told me 100% it'll leak over time). Plus there were gaps on both sides of the roof vent (see pics). It would never last a storm without leaking... I complained to Raul, asked for a partial refund which is fair for the crap work he did, (1/3 ) but he wouldn't honor that. He told me he would come back and do it right, but never followed up with me. On top of all that he took a 2 hour lunch and charged me for what he needed for a home depot run. Worst "handyman" experience ever. Don't trust this guy to change the batteries on your remote. read more

He actually answered his phone when I called the first time booked an appointment for a estimate on a few minor repairs right away on a Fullerton rental. My parent's home needed major painting, closet repairs, drywall repairs all over the home, water stains removed, outside gates painted, front outside stucco walls painted, front door painted, floors redone, wall paper removed, nails in walls removed and holes patched (and there were so many of those I can't even begin to tell you), baseboards fixed/repaired, kitchen cabinets and drawers painted inside and out. How lucky I was to have found Raul and his crew! From the get go, he came over and took his time to give me a thorough estimate and told me how he can do the job. He was super professional and friendly and responded right away. He literally went over everything in full detail how he can fix my parent's home!! We set a date for him to come in the beginning of June and sure enough, he was reliable and showed up on time and got to work. The prep work alone he and his crew did was amazing. They covered all floors, furniture, fixtures, etc. and got to work. They were so professional and knew what they were doing. They went room by room and worked non-stop. Each day they showed up on time, never took a day off and progressed so much each day! Each day they cleaned up so well you wouldn't even know they were there! Not one drop of paint anywhere was left behind, not a piece of trash or anything. Then boom, the next day, they showed back up early in the morning and worked so hard getting things done!! His prices are great and he is very responsive too. They finished the job in less than 2 weeks and OMG it was a HUGE job. The job was done beautifully and his work is beyond good. I'm telling you, you need to call Raul to do all your painting needs. It's SO hard to find good, hard working, RELIABLE, people these days and with Raul and his crew, you get that. I am super thankful to have found Raul. He fixed my front door screen first. Then painted two bedrooms, closets and hall coat closet. The coat closet needed shelves, and he did exactly what I wanted. I was totally happy with that job so we moved on to painting the exterior of my house. It was in terrible shape. It needed scraping, wood filling, sanding, priming, and two coats of paint on stucco and trim. He did a beautiful job. I was so pleased with it. I tipped him $200. I hired Raul to do a few repairs and we scheduled for him to arrive between 8-9am. When I texted him a little after 9am for an ETA he told me that he stopped to get coffee!! Well, he didn't get here until 9:45am and there was no apology or acknowledgment of his lateness. Then, when he had been gone for over an hour to buy supplies, he texted me to tell me he forgot his wallet and has to go home to get it and then go back to the store to buy the supplies. So, the whole job started late and took a lot longer than it should have. The day after he did the repairs I saw that the stopper for the faucet he replaced was not attached to its lever and I texted Raul to come fix this. He seemed willing to do it but did not commit to when he would come to fix the stopper. I had to text him a few times to try to schedule a time for him to come over and I asked him to finish the project he started. That's when he told me he already completed the project and was basically doing me a favor so I have to wait until he has time. What?!?! Raul seems like a nice guy but his work ethic is disappointing. read more
