Over time, he became like an extra father figure not only to Ayden but to many of the kids at PEL Tutoring. We specifically sought out this school because it is a true Montessori-accredited school. Many places use the "Montessori" name, but obtaining and maintaining actual accreditation requires an immense amount of time, money, and resources. While this makes tuition slightly higher than that of a standard daycare, you are paying for a high-quality educational environment, not just babysitting. My children have thrived here emotionally and academically. I trust Ms. Martha and her team implicitly. I cannot recommend this school enough to parents who want a traditional, high-standard Montessori education. It is disheartening to see "hit piece" reviews that don't reflect the daily reality of the happy, engaged children I see every time I am on campus. Many of these complaints sound like a misunderstanding of the Montessori philosophy. During the initial tours, the Director, Ms. Martha, is incredibly transparent about how the school runs. If you look closely at the complaints, most people actually admit they like the teachers and the Director, Ms. Martha. It seems the real issues stem from financial disagreements or a lack of understanding of the Montessori method. As a business owner myself, I know that an organization cannot simply "turn off" its own reviews. If Google restricts reviews, it is because they have identified that the school is being targeted by unauthentic or coordinated "smear" reviews. To me, that speaks volumes about the validity of the recent negativity.

As a parent, there are a few things that we absolutely adore about EBM. First and foremost, Ms. Blanca genuinely cares about our children and understands their learning journey. She knows exactly what our children are learning and how to support them in specific areas. Secondly, they serve a delicious hot lunch and healthy snacks daily. Thirdly, the EBM team is incredibly easy to reach out to whenever we have questions about our children or the school. Ms. Sithy, the director, is also open to suggestions and always strives to improve, creating the best school and environment for the children. Lastly, we appreciate the monthly newsletter, which provides us with valuable updates from the teachers about the topics and subjects they are teaching our children that month. Our children seem to learn new things constantly, but they also maintain a healthy balance between their studies and playtime. They have developed excellent social skills and make friends easily at EBM. Both children started as timid and shy, but they have learned to overcome their shyness and make friends. They always come home excitedly sharing the new things they have learned. My oldest child is now a first grader at a local elementary school. I was 3 months pregnant when my husband and I found his growing grove. We put down a deposit for about $250 to "apply" for the daycare program with the goal of sending our child here at 4 months old. We were basically applying one year in advance. They told us they would give us updates on when there was an opening. We didn't get the update that there was an opening until March 2024. It's hard to believe that there was no opening (i.e., not one single infant in the program learned to walk and got moved to the toddler program during our six month waiting period). Our main problem is with the deposit. The deposit does not save you a place in line and it is not refundable. It merely gets you on a list of people to be contacted when there is an opening and then it's a free-for-all to see who submits the final paperwork first. The most reasonable approach would be to not pay anything until there is an opening and then submit the fee with all of the paperwork at that time. Unless time is not a factor to you and you have daycare somewhere else, you should not rely on there being an opening here. It's basically a lottery and you are potentially throwing away your money. We found another daycare that allowed us to send our child on the exact day we requested from the beginning. This daycare had less kids and was able to give more attention to my child.

My husband and I have a 22-month old daughter and it was our intention to send her to pre-school when she turns two years old. Knowing how difficult it is to secure a spot in a good pre-school, we started searching for one when she was only 4 months old (around November 2015). We found HGG, among others, on Yelp. Like many parents, we attended orientation sessions and opening houses. At the end, we narrowed down to 2 centers and since HGG was able to promise us a spot in writing to the Little Lamb class when she turns 2 in September 2017, we also committed ourselves by putting down a $250 deposit in January 2016. Lone and behold, around September of 2016, we found out that we were expecting our second child in May 2017. After much consideration, we also decided to enrol our unborn child to HGG to the toddler program for December 2017 and put in another $250 deposit in December 2016 to secure a spot. Between January 2017 and April 2017, I have been in close contact with the enrolment officer at HGG and in each conversation, I have always been reassured that they have a spot for both my kids at the date they have previously promised. Without any prior notice, I received a deposit refund of $250 in the mail in early May 2017. I called HGG right away to find out if there has been a mistake. It turns out that the enrolment for my baby to their infant class for December 2017 has been turned down and the only explanation given was because of a mix up in their administration (over-booking of babies to their toddler class). With only one week away from the due date of my unborn baby, they had put us under tremendous stress as both my husband and I have already committed to our respective employers our back-to-work plan under the assumption that we are able to send our baby to HGG by December 2017. In addition, when I tried to confirm the enrolment of my 22-month old daughter for September 2017 on the same call, we also found out that they have to postpone her for another year (i.e. until September 2018). By that time, I was furious. If I have not asked, no one at the center would have told us and we would be in deep trouble by the time September 2017 comes around. I apologize for the long read but I do feel strongly about my experiences. I have lost total faith in the school. We cannot help but to speculate whether there were any unfair preferences (i.e. over ethnicity, religion preferences, parents' occupation, etc) for the applicants on the waiting list. It does not matter how well-equipped the facility is, how great the programs are and how attentive the teachers may be, if the administration is run so poorly, as a mother who plans to be an involved parent for my children, I have serious doubts on how well the center is actually being run, which will directly affect the learning environment for my children. There is definitely disappointment for not being able to enrol my children to the school but my above comment arises solely from my frustration of the poor communication from the school administration. I encourage other parents who have also received their unexpected refund deposit in their mail to come forward to also share their experiences on Yelp since I am certain I am not the first and won't be the last.

Not only did I encounter that at The Montessori Giving Tree but I found an environment that my little one thrives in. My child has been with the school for almost one year and is excited to go to school every day. Tasha teaches the children respect and helping others out when needed. She is always there to answer any questions I have regarding the curriculum or if I feel my child needs to focus on an item she is more than happy to assist. I visited 6 different schools and this school was the only one that held up to my standards. Children are not running around screaming when in the classroom and Tasha ran me through each Montessori learning item and explain how the child will use the tools. The other schools just showed me where the tools were and that they were available to the kids. She has a little area outside where the kids can run around and play (this is when they probably do scream and it's okay) when the weather is nice. I read the review about limiting the snack quantities. Personally I find this acceptable because this way all the children will get an equal amount of food. If you just let the kids gorge themselves on what they like then they will not learn to share and inevitably 1 or more child will not get the item. In addition, if a child is given a bowl of carrots and a bowl of crackers, which snack do you think they will inhale? This way, each child will get a more balanced snack. Overall, my little one is extremely happy with the school and has never complained. In just a little under a year, she has already learned so much and made some great friends.
