There are no trees to shade the skate park, but luckily it doesn't get too hot here. There are some shaded benches around the park with a good view of it for anyone who might have only come to watch. This skate park is a great asset to the community and gives skaters a place to play and hangout without being a detriment to the community.

Because the summer camp runs weekly, with several rotating and parallel themes, the kids were able to land on the same interest and available week. Shocking, I know! The camp's extensive schedule works for vacations and professional work hours. Even though some kids had already attended previous summers, each of them enjoyed the experience differently when friends were involved. They can escalate to be the most rambunctious bunch or wander as cerebral or silly, chatty tweens. The social pace was great, and this camp has a seamless inclusion vibe. For some weeks and cohorts, the group veers younger, like 2nd- to 5th-graders, and some older, like 5th- to 8th-graders. Mike, the camp director, does a great job with the groupings paired with an experienced counselor. We were lucky to have school teachers as lead. Given this was my child's first experience with Urban Adventure, he absolutely loved the exploration and riding public transit (BART, SF MUNI - bus, trolley, and metro, AC Transit, Cal Shuttle, Ferry). Going up to the ferry observation deck was exhilarating and inclusively fun with friends who could access the elevator. Although my child has been to many of the museums and features when he was younger, he barely recalls them at all. We did so much pre-pandemic and, over time, lost those family events to sports purgatory. So glad my child got to re-experience with his peers. Lastly, my child has suddenly shown a burst of independence in reading maps, following directions, examining transportation timetables, accounting for museum and business hours, and actively thinking about plan B, C, or other contingencies. He was so excited to demonstrate that he ended up giving my husband an Urban Adventure experience today. The kid sent a slurry of calendar invites with the various SF locales. While they play local tourists, I actually have time to type up a long-winded review. My child attended both Biology/Natural Science and Technology/Physical Sciences. Many thumbs up!

They're efficient, on top of things, easy drop-off/pick-up in terms of parking, simple sign-in/out, and lots of variety. They communicate well in advance with comprehensive info which eliminates a lot of the unknown. My son's favorite one is art. I almost don't want to tell people since camp sign-up season is crazy and the popular camps sell out FAST. My son is neurodivergent and manages to find a buddy each year on his wavelength. They also go to wheelchair accessible sites. It's also great seeing the kids have a blast in the daily private photo links.

For us, the $100 was well-spent on one adult and two children. The event started with the Easter Bunny greeting every attendee and handing children a basket for the egg hunt. Breakfast included pastries, pancakes, bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and nearly every non-alcoholic breakfast/brunch drink under the sun. All attendees got unlimited Merry-go-round rides, which continued even after the event ended at 11am and the Merry-go-round opened to the public. Jenbert Jr. 2 loved the Merry-go-round and didn't want to get off-- and since she was unlimited, she didn't have to! The Easter egg hunt was very well-organized, with lots of eggs for even wobbly toddlers to find. The employees were good about making sure that there were lots of eggs for everyone. Jenbert Jr. 1 & 2 are still raving over the goodies that were in their baskets. Finally, there were a bunch of fun Easter-themed inflatables with bunnies, chicks, and even a Scooby-Doo with Bunny ears and a carrot! And let's not forget about the photo-op with the Easter Bunny! I'd bring back JJ1 & JJ2 next year, it was money well-spent and a very well-put-together event.

I saw the staff actively tidying the space, assisting with the different payment features, and engaging the children. They offer memberships, as well host private events and various therapies that are held on site. It's a one stop shop. Their memberships can be covered by the Regional Center or funded through Self Determination program, but of course, you can pay of pocket. The owner Lindsay is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! This San Ramon location is their first location, but have since expanded to two more sites in Berkeley and Belmont. They also have tables for parents to have a break or work at which is very thoughtful. When I went also had a smaller tot area as well as an inclusive, larger space for all. Overall, this is a wonderful facility that fosters inclusion and a welcome addition to the area.

We've been going to Coach Max's regular weekly junior hoops sessions twice a week since he started them up - lots of high intensity workouts, in addition to lots of fun playtime and basics of basketball. All in an hour twice a week. This year we decided to step it up, my kiddo (9) was actually home for the summer and finally had an opportunity to check out Coach Max's summer camp (he goes from 9am-3pm). Let me just say, my kid is NOT sporty kid, he's not a lanky shrimp...I wouldn't go as far as calling him lazy, but he does prefer horizontal positions to vertical...This is kid not only LOVES camp, but he's the one waiting for me in the morning to get out of the door. 3 weeks in a row! When I pick him up, he's limping because he's sore and literally goes to bed at 8pm the whole week...up at 7am to get ready in the morning! Which kid does this over summer break?! Now coach...Max is a wonderful human, amazing friend to all, and someone all kids can look up - at any age. For any new kids, he is incredibly warm and easy to get along with. For parents, it's a joy to watch your kid interact. His crew of assistants are patient, friendly, but also mean business on the court. Kids learn teamwork, respect, create friendships, and begin a more detailed and rigorous basketball regime. Recommend to ANYONE. Boy, girl, teen, child... Initially, my daughter was a little hesitant to join because she does not know anything about basketball, but by the time camp ended, she got the basics down and made some new friends. It was also nice that they have smaller hoops for younger kids. As for my son, he now has a stronger understanding and appreciation for basketball after doing drills, running the ball and playing scrimmage. He also slept very well that week. Coach Max is such a down to earth guy! Kids tend to gravitate toward him. His staff are very welcoming, fun, and encouraging. I highly recommend this camp! It was my first time signing my kids up for a spring break camp so I felt a bit nervous about how they would react to a new environment. My worries were immediately put to rest when I saw the fun interactions my kids had with coach John upon them leaving after the first day. With a big smile on his face, my boy was saying "you are the best!" back and forth with coach John. After returning home, they shared with me how much they liked playing football, basketball, tags, jumping house, and golf. I am thankful that the team at GrowFit took great care of my boys. Instead, the day typically didn't start until 9:30 AM and was essentially over by 3:30 PM, with kids sitting around waiting for pickup. On the first day, one coach kicked a ball into my son's head and then disappeared for the rest of the week. My son came home every day saying he learned no soccer skills because there was little to no coaching. They didn't even play soccer on the last day. Most activities were random games unrelated to soccer. Afternoons consisted mainly of crafts, Legos, and a bounce house--fun activities, but not what was advertised. The check-in process was also disorganized. The receptionist repeatedly struggled to find my son's registration because she was confused about first and last names, despite his information being clearly visible in the system. She claims everyone makes mistake and that's ok, please tell this to your boss, not me. This camp has potential, but it is poorly managed and does not deliver what it promises. Updated based on Russ's feedback - the name in the system was correct because when your receptionist can't find it and handed me the iPad, I was able to look it up and it looks right. However, looks like it was sorted by first name but she asked for last name. I understand it was supposed to be very structured, but during class, it was not the case. My son even asked the coach to teach him how to kick and shoot better but the coach ignored him.
