It was held inside an expo hall and the space felt much smaller than expected. The dinosaur exhibit itself consisted of maybe five or six displays total, which was far less than what the videos and marketing led us to believe. There were a few additional activities, one dinosaur meet-and-greet, some LEGO stations, and a couple small activities, but overall it felt very minimal. My son is only two, so he was still excited to see the dinosaurs, but as a parent, I expected a lot more based on how this event is advertised. If you're managing expectations and just want a short outing for a very young child, it may be fine. But if you're expecting a large, immersive experience like what's shown online, this didn't live up to it.

These days, the county fair is back but only for three or four days... The fairgrounds still host events but on a smaller scale. Lately I've only attended the San Jose Harvest Festival, which moved from downtown San Jose to the fairground a few years ago. I like the fact that it is closer to my home, but the venue's parking fee of $20 is outrageous! When speaking to some of the vendors at the Harvest Festival, they were wondering if the lower attendance was due to the hefty parking fee, amongst other financial reasons. Plus, we are still paying an admission fee to the event... I still attend some fairground events but usually when there is free or low-cost admission fee. Continuing to pay $20 just to park will definitely give me pause to re-think my need to attend such events in the future.

Overall it was an okay experience for us, maybe it was just the vibes and the crowd more so the venue. I would ideally give it a 3 star but since the San Jose City Hall is its own entity, I don't want to give them a bad review. Starting with the lines to get in, it was very poorly run with people cutting and a HUGE bottleneck of people. From what I saw there wasn't enough rails and check in staff to help with the event so they were going so slow. Inside it was amazing to see the festival go on with apartments, traffic light in the middle of the venue and just felt like a street festival. I noticed a lot of police too which was great to see even though we got caught up in the middle of a fight and got her drinks spilled.

Having the VIP area include the rotunda and City Hall and the second floor balcony to view. The stage was amazing. To enter the convention center you enter from level 3 so best to park on level 3 if possible. We arrived around 10:45am and level 3 was already closed off. This year we noticed more exhibitions of both domestic and international travel. If you're in need of ballpoint pens and reusable bags, this is a golden opportunity. We spoke to several exhibitors for more information on potential destinations. We spent about 1 1/2 hours walking around. There's food available for purchase, and an area to sit down to eat.

The rules we had to work with was absolutely ridiculous and bordering on ADA complaint. 1. One entrance and one exit. Every other door is "emergency exit." Oh but except for when the event ends at 6pm. You can just walk out. Here's the problem. To get to the hotel it's a 5-10 min walk. To get to the car. You have to walk all the way around the hotel. There's an exit directly upstairs that leads to the parking garage. But we can't use it. This is extra tedious if we have stuff to drop off. Or we need to get something from the car. And that directly leads me to 2. No food or drinks in the venue. If there was an easy way to get the parking garage this is a no issue. But I have to walk all that way just to get food and drinks from my car? It's frustrating. There's really no place to sit down inside. If you're not in the ballroom like areas. There's nowhere to sit aside from randomly sitting and causing traffic stall. Pros: conditioner worked well. Restrooms were clean. They atleast had working drinking fountains with cool temperature water.

It was the perfect spot for our group, not too hot, not too cold, with a light breeze coming through. The views were lovely and the freedom to roam onto the courtyard patio was a plus! The Event Coordinator, Miranda, was a pleasure to work with. She was flexible, accommodating, and clear with all arrangements. The ease of having everything done in-house was absolutely wonderful for me. I just showed up two hours before start-time with some decorations and favors, and everything else was already set-up and ready for me. The service was stellar... everyone knew the bartender's name by the end of the night (thank you Elliot for taking care of us) and everyone raved about the food. It was not only delicious, but aesthetically pleasing and plentiful. Everyone in attendance (and even those who missed out) are still talking about the event. I took a picture of where I parked and entered the convention center. Unbeknownst to me, that door was one way only and the parking building couldn't be entered from that dor from the convention center side. So when I left the event to get to my rental car, I found that same door locked and I went through a different door to access the parking building. The ticket payment booth was just right at the new door I went through to enter the parking building. I paid and there was no sign on it saying there was a time limit after paying. I had difficulty finding my parked rental car from that new door. By the time I found it and drove to the entrance, I scanned my ticket and the screen showed I still had to pay. I pushed the emergency button for assistance to explain that I'd already paid, and that's when I found out they had a time limit from when you pay for the parking ticket to drive out of the building. I explained that I had difficulty finding my parked car from the new door I had to take and finally I was given a reprieve. PAY at the exit unless you're familiar with the parking building.

My answer to this is that this is ridiculous. I've lived in San Jose, Ca for over 15 years and this driving range is always dirt! There are no golf courses in Santa Clara county that look like this one. Driving ranges are supposed to be what you might expect on a golf course. Lastly her other statements on the type of soil is present is a poor excuse. Everyone knows that the groundskeeper maintains the golf courses but they need to have the resources to do this. When you look at other golf courses, what do you see? Golf courses maintenance costs money. How do you think other 9 hole golf courses are able to make theirs look nice? Everything being about equal something needs to happen. This golf course needs to improve its driving range. It will need to be closed until these changes are made. If it's really being used for drainage this water needs to get directed to a different location. New soil needs to be brought in from somewhere. Grass has at least basic maintenance that includes water and fertilizers. What does the people that go here to use it want to happen?
